  • How do I layout a form in WPF using grid or other controls for maintainability

    I have a WPF form, I want to lay out a standard form onto it. Each form element will have a label, and then a control. Pretty standard stuff. If I use a wrap panel, it can cause the label and the control to be separated, but I want them to stay together. is there some WPF equivalent of nobr? Grid works, and allows for column spanning etc, however I really really hate that you specify the column and row on each control. This makes it extremely inconvenient to reorder or insert things into the list. Is there a way to get the grid to use more HTML style column/rows where the items are a child of the row they are in, so that I can re-order easily? Is there some other control that will let me layout a form easily?

  • Changing properties of controls that were added at runtime

    I have a form in which several buttons are added at runtime via a 'for' method public Form() { for (int i = 0 ... ) Button b = new Button() b.text = (string) i ; etc.. etc.. } . now i wish to change the text property of the buttons on a certain event. How can this be accomplished? I have tried a few things but none worked.. since the buttons variables are inside the method , they are not available outside. Thanks

I'm in the process of doing some UIs for a touch screen, but not sure how the template should look like. e.g. how big the buttons/text/labels should be.   • Controls in UIActionSheet are positioning wrong

    I need to display a pop with a UISwitch and a Done button when user taps on a button and save the state of the switch when the done button in the pop up is tapped. NSLog(@"Switch is on") : NSLog(@"Switch if off"); } } All this works great. I have problem with positioning. Unfortunately, I don't have a screen shot at the moment to post here. But the switch appears at the very top on the same line with the Action Sheet title and then below that is the Done button. Please someone help me how to position the switch below the Title and increase the Action Sheet size so it looks neat. I need this asap. Thanks.

    I have following code - <s:iterator value="reviews"> <img src="<s:property value="#request.restaurant.portalImage.url" />" /> <s:property value="user.firstName" /> <s:property value="user.lastName" /> <s:property value="rating" /> <s:property value="review" /> </s:iterator> reviews is a list of review objects which contain details of a review, such as rating and name of user. My problem is that i'm not able to access any of the objects present on the valuestack within the loop. Outside the loop <s:property value="#request.restaurant.portalImage.url" /> works correctly. But within the loop it prints null. AFAIK an iterator pushes it's collection on the valuestack so that all ognl expressions resolve against it. But I've used # which means I'm explicitly specifying the root object for resolution. Why is it still not working?

I tried escaping \"from\" and double quote marks ""from"" - both doesn't work. How to do that?

  • Hide TabControl buttons to manage stacked Panel controls

    I need to handle multiple panels, containing variuous data masks. Each panel shall be visible using a TreeView control. At this time, I handle the panels visibility manually, by making the selected one visible and bring it on top. Actually this is not much confortable, especially in the UI designer, since when I add a brand new panel I have to resize every panel and then design it... A good solution would be using a TabControl, and each panel is contained in a TabPage. But I cannot find any way to hide the TabControl buttons, since I already have a TreeView for selecting items. Another solution would be an ipotethic "StackPanelControl", where the Panels are arranged using a stack, but I couldn't find it anywhere. What's the best solution to handle this kind of UI?

  • Changing property of ItemTemplate controls in ListView

    I have ListView containig LinkButtons in ItemTemplate. ListView is inside UpdatePanel so it is not doing page refresh. When users click on one the LinkButtons it changes its css property in order to mark the selection: protected void ListView1_ItemCommand1(object sender, ListViewCommandEventArgs e) { ((LinkButton)e.CommandSource).CssClass = "selected"; } That allows multiple selections.   • google maps call within a For Loop not returning distance

    Hi, I am calling google maps within a for loop in my javascript as I have mulitple routes that need to be costed separately based on distances. Everything works great except that the distance is only returned for one of the routes. I have a feeling that it is something to do with the way I have the items declared within the ajax call for the maps.     I have a silverlight application in which I am using the windowless property to show text . Silverlight Plugin Size is 1000*2000, I Have a button (siverlight control) on the Top. I am showing some html text using DIV real time. Its working fine. My Silverlight Plugin & DIV both style property is= "position:absolute'.     Hi all, I have a client-server application and i am using swing in the client side. My swing client has one main window (jframe) and lots of panels, toolbars and menubar in it. I want to remove all client action/mouse events (or simply grab and do nothing) while client is waiting response from server by means of glasssPane.     I'm using the super_inplace_controls plugin to allow users to edit fields on the "show" page. However, I'm running into an issue with the in_place_select function. Here is my view: <p> <b>Status:</b> <%= in_place_select :incident, :incident_status, :choices => @statuses.map { |e| [e.name, e.id] } %> </p> This is in the 'Incident' view. IncidentStatus is a separate table that has_many Incidents. In the Incident controller, I retrieve @statuses like so: @statuses = IncidentStatus.find(:all) Everything works fine for the in_place_select, except the original display. In my browser, it shows: Status: #<IncidentStatus:0x1033147d8> Which means it's not grabbing the current incident_status.name, but it's just changing the object to a string. I'm not sure how to fix this! When I click on the "IncidentStatus:0x1033147d8", everything works properly and I can select the proper fields. Thanks for any help!

    I am developing a master page which includes the user control that generates a menu from the list with a specific logic. Before including the control into master page I successfully configured anonymous access to the site. After including the control and deploying - site prompts for user name and password. I allowed the anonymous access to the list. Oh yes ... It worked on SHarepoint 2010 beta, but the problem happens when deploying to the Sharepoint 2010 final release. Additional data: I am using Sharepoint Server 2010 with Standard features, standalone instalation on Windows Server 2008 R2 for deployment, and Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate for development of masterpage and user control.

    I have applied a color theme called Vibrant Ink (or some modification of it), and since I installed Visual Studio 2010 Pro Power Tools all my statement completion boxes are undreadable. What setting changes the colors of these boxes? Preferrably, I'd like to change the background color to something darker, but if that's not possible at least I want to change the text color.

I use this same "{Binding SiteName}" in all my other colums with no issues, why can't the user control accept the same binding string?

    Good Day I have a form with a panel docked in it. I then dynamically create 15 panels (named: panel_n) and 15 pictureboxes (named: picturebox_n) on the primary panel (named ContainerPanel). When dragging the any picturebox over a panel (panel_n) created using the relevant mouse events. I would like to get the panel's name that the picture box was dragged over. The mouse cursor seems to be captured. I have tried creating a IMessageFilter interface, but there are still no events that trigger when dragging one of the pictureboxes over any one of the panels. The ClientRectangle.IntersectsWith function also does not work as the co-ords are always 0,0. All I need is the panel name where the picturebox was dragged over (preferably on the mouseup event)

    Do you know how if you drag an <mx:Label> or <s:Label> component into your Flex project, when you go to design mode you get this panel on the right to set its properties like text etc. I have a custom component that I can call with actionscript, or with mxml like this: <comps:TheComp field1="OK" field2="Yes" /> The component takes this input and uses it for its internal operation private var field1:String; private var field2:String; private function initializeit() { // component takes the input and lays it out as needed } When I go to design mode, I can see the component under custom components, I can drag it to the stage and see it, but can't set its values field1 and field visually on the right like a normal <s:Label> or <mx:Label> would have. Any idea how I can add that? Do I need to make it inherit something or anything else
