  • How to properly translate the "var" result of a lambda expression to a concrete type?

    So I'm trying to learn more about lambda expressions. I read this question on stackoverflow, concurred with the chosen answer, and have attempted to implement the algorithm using a console app in C# using a simple LINQ expression. My question is: how do I translate the "var result" of the lambda expression into a usable object that I can then print the result? I would also appreciate an in-depth explanation of what is happening when I declare the outer => outer.Value.Frequency (I've read numerous explanations of lambda expressions but additional clarification would help) C# //Input : {5, 13, 6, 5, 13, 7, 8, 6, 5} //Output : {5, 5, 5, 13, 13, 6, 6, 7, 8} //The question is to arrange the numbers in the array in decreasing order of their frequency, preserving the order of their occurrence. //If there is a tie, like in this example between 13 and 6, then the number occurring first in the input array would come first in the output array.   • How do I strip multiple (optional) parts of a SQL string using .NET Regular Expressions?

    I've been working on this for a few hours now and can't find any help on it. Basically, I'm trying to strip a SQL string into various parts (fields, from, where, having, groupBy, orderBy). I refuse to believe that I'm the first person to ever try to do this, so I'd like to ask for some advise from the StackOverflow community. :) To understand what I need, assume the following SQL string: select * from table1 inner join table2 on table1.id = table2.id where field1 = 'sam' having table1.field3 > 0 group by table1.field4 order by table1.field5 I created a regular expression to group the parts accordingly: select\s+(?<fields>.+)\s+from\s+(?<from>.+)\s+where\s+(?<where>.+)\s+having\s+(?<having>.+)\s+group\sby\s+(?<groupby>.+)\s+order\sby\s+(?<orderby>.+) This gives me the following results: fields => * from => table1 inner join table2 on table1.id = table2.id where => field1 = 'sam' having => table1.field3 > 0 groupby => table1.field4 orderby => table1.field5 The problem that I'm faced with is that if any part of the SQL string is missing after the 'from' clause, the regular expression doesn't match. To fix that, I've tried putting each optional part in it's own (...)? group but that doesn't work. It simply put all the optional parts (where, having, groupBy, and orderBy) into the 'from' group. Any ideas?

    I'm trying to inject a function into a webpage via Chrome extension content script by: function inject(code) { var actualCode = '(' + code + ')();'; var script = document.createElement('script'); script.textContent = actualCode; (document.head||document.documentElement).appendChild(script); script.parentNode.removeChild(script); } var myObj = person; // myObj/person is passed in from elsewhere var fn = function() { alert(myObj.name); }; inject(fn); // myObj undefined My issue is, since fn is a function expression, I can't pass in myObj.personName. So my question is, how can I construct a function expression that includes a variable? Do I do some sort of string concatenation instead? I also tried to pass the object to the function, as follows: function inject(code, myObj) { var actualCode = '(' + code + ')(' + myObj +');'; ...     I am new to JQuery and am using the JQuery validation plugin. Great stuff! I want to migrate my existing ASP.NET solution to use JQuery instead of the ASP.NET validators. I am missing a replacement for the regular expression validator. I have access to the EE cookies and the EE database but couldn't find a way to use these values to figure out who the user is.     When using the Spring 3.0 capability to annotate the a scheduled task, I would like to set the fixedDelay as parameter from my configuration file, instead of hard-wiring it into my task class, like currently... @Scheduled(fixedDelay=5000) public void readLog() { ... } Unfortunately it seems that with the means of the Spring Expression Language (EL) @Value returns a String object which in turn is not able to be auto-boxed to a long value as required by the fixedDelay parameter. The difficult part here is to validate proper starting and ending parentheses with in the formula. I believe, there would be some sample on the web but I could not find it.
