  • fastest way to upload an xls file into a database

    I have an xls file with ~60 sheets of data. I would like to move them into a database (postgres) such that each sheet's data is stored in a different table. What is the fastest way of creating these tables? I don't care about naming or proper typing of columns. The columns could all be strings for that matter. I don't want to run 60 different csv uploads.

    Hey im new to database design and having trouble trying to figure this one out. I have two tables Team and Fixtures. Team has rows of football teams and Fixture has 2 of those football teams in each row (home and away team). I want to link team id to home_team and away_team but it doesnt allow me to.   • How to build a database from an XSD schema and import XML data

    I have a complex XSD schema and hundreds of XML files conforming to the schema. How do I automate the creation of related SQL Server tables to store the XML data? I've considered creating C# classes from the XSD schema using the xsd.exe tool and letting something like Subsonic figure out how to make a shiny database out of it, but not sure if it's the best way to approach it. Has anyone managed to elegantly import XSD files into SQL Server?

    I seem to have two options on how to implement arrays, and I want to know which I should go with: Use the ARRAY data type and (from what I understand) effectively serialize data objects into the database (which in my case are just wrapped primitive types; don't know of another way to make this work). Use a separate table and map with foreign keys for each array item. If you have experience with this (especially with H2), which would you recommend?

"user" table is suppose to have a 1.1 relationship with "userprofile" table however the actual design the "user" table has a 1.* relationship with "userprofile" table.
