  • Using the iPhones Multi-Touch Keyboard Search Button

    I have a regular text field on a view and I'd like to make use of the search button on the iPhones keyboard. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to do this. There doesn't seem to be any event exposed that I can wire up that specifically relates to the search button on the keyboard. I've googled around, but I also haven't found anything related to this subject.

  • Rails upload to s3 performance issue

    Hello, I'm building an app to store files on my s3 account. I use Rails 3.0.0beta A lot of files can be uploaded at the same time, and the cost (from a performance point of view) of an upload is quite heavy, my app will be busy handling uploads all the time! Maybe a solution is to upload directly to s3, but I still need a submit to my app, at least to store the file's name. I'm wondering what is the best solution?

  • MVC4 dynamically changing master layout page doesn't work on first load

    I have an MVC4 mobile project that I want to add a desktop (non mobile) page to for some users. I have added a new desktop master page and assigned my view to use it. The first time I navigate to the page it renders using jquerymobile which appears to somehow be cached from the previous screen. If I hit F5 to refresh the page it displays using the assigned desktop masterpage correctly. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Any insight appreciated

    Hi, how can I deploy an mvc application, without publishing the aspx view files. Is there a way to publish the generated dll assemblies? In the project file is an option "MvcBuildViews", which builds these dll files. But they are build in a temp directory and not used in the publishment process.   • iPhone App not saving values to .plist file

    Hey everyone. I am working on an app that displays a modal the first time the consumer uses it. I have a .plist file that will store the information I request once the Save button is pressed. I can read from the .plist file fine and when I run my save method it SEEMS to work fine but the .plist file is not updating. I'm not so sure of the problem here.     Say I have this url: http://site.example/dir/ In this folder I have these files: test.ascx.cs and test.ascx Just to be clear, I am not a .NET developer. From a security point of view - why can't I access http://site.example/dir/test.ascx.cs and how secure is it to keep those files there? I assume IIS filters out request that query these kind of files, but can someone explain me this? Thank you.

    If I use MPMoviePlayerController to play video in my iPhone app, it opens, loads the movie, plays it and then closes. Is it possible to force it to stay open after the movie finishes, so that user can replay it using its controls, instead of using controls in parent view? Also, is it possible to start MPMoviePlayerController in the paused mode? thanks for any advice.

The validator is invoked as expected and works okay, but the errors i set on the Errors objects are not displayed, when i am sent back to my form because of the validation errors.
