White space problem while using php proxy

Hi, I'm using a php web proxy with my URL already encoded and keep having getting a malformed request error once I have any text after a %20. Any idea why this would be happening? Trouble passing JSP values to ActionForm (Struts)

Hi, I am a newbie to Struts and have inherited a problem. I am trying to pass 3 values contained in the same table cell from a JSP to my ActionForm class. The first value (and others in the JSP) work fine, but for some reason the other two do not. I have the appropriate getters and setters, but only the first (newrecnum) shows up, the other two are null. Is there a limitation to only pass the first value? Or is there something else wrong? How can I display multiple django modelformset forms together?

I have a problem with needing to provide multiple model backed forms on the same page. I understand how to do this with single forms, i.e. just create both the forms call them something different then use the appropriate names in the template. Now how exactly do you expand that solution to work with modelformsets? The wrinkle, of course, is that each 'form' must be rendered together in the appropriate fieldset. I have a nested JSON object that I need to loop through, and the value of each key could be a String, JSON array or another JSON object. Depending on the type of object, I need to carry out different operations. Is there any way I can check the type of the object to see if it is a String, JSON object or JSON array? I tried using typeof and instanceof but both didn't seem to work, as typeof will return an object for both JSON object and array, and instanceof gives an error when I do obj instanceof JSON. To be more specific, after parsing the JSON into a JS object, is there any way I can check if it is a normal string, or an object with keys and values (from a JSON object), or an array (from a JSON array)? What techniques can be used to detect so called "black holes" (a spider trap) when creating a web crawler?

When creating a web crawler, you have to design somekind of system that gathers links and add them to a queue. Some, if not most, of these links will be dynamic, which appear to be different, but do not add any value as they are specifically created to fool crawlers. An example: We tell our crawler to crawl the domain evil.com by entering an initial lookup URL. Lets assume we let it crawl the front page initially, evil.com/index The returned HTML will contain several "unique" links: evil.com/somePageOne evil.com/somePageTwo evil.com/somePageThree The crawler will add these to the buffer of uncrawled URLs. When somePageOne is being crawled, the crawler receives more URLs: evil.com/someSubPageOne evil.com/someSubPageTwo These appear to be unique, and so they are. They are unique in the sense that the returned content is different from previous pages and that the URL is new to the crawler, however it appears that this is only because the developer has made a "loop trap" or "black hole". The crawler will add this new sub page, and the sub page will have another sub page, which will also be added. This process can go on infinitely. The content of each page is unique, but totally useless (it is randomly generated text, or text pulled from a random source). Our crawler will keep finding new pages, which we actually are not interested in. These loop traps are very difficult to find, and if your crawler does not have anything to prevent them in place, it will get stuck on a certain domain for infinity. My question is, what techniques can be used to detect so called black holes? One of the most common answers I have heard is the introduction of a limit on the amount of pages to be crawled. However, I cannot see how this can be a reliable technique when you do not know what kind of site is to be crawled. A legit site, like Wikipedia, can have hundreds of thousands of pages. Such limit could return a false positive for these kind of sites. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

NSDictionary, NSArray, NSSet and efficiency

Hi, I've got a text file, with about 200,000 lines. Each line represents an object with multiple properties. I only search through one of the properties (the unique ID) of the objects. If the unique ID I'm looking for is the same as the current object's unique ID, I'm gonna read the rest of the object's values. Right now, each time I search for an object, I just read the whole text file line by line, create an object for each line and see if it's the object I'm looking for - which is basically the most inefficient way to do the search. I would like to read all those objects into memory, so I can later search through them more efficiently. The question is, what's the most efficient way to perform such a search? Is a 200,000-entries NSArray a good way to do this (I doubt it)? How about an NSSet? With an NSSet, is it possible to only search for one property of the objects? Thanks for any help! -- Ry

Chrome is leaking memory, when jQuery is used on events?

Hi, I'm experiencing an increase of memory usage, when I use the jQuery-eventhandling in Chrome. I've tested it with IE and FF as well, but there I couldn't see a suspicious rise of memory-usage, compared to Chrome. I'm using Chrome version 4.0.223.16 (unfortunately I'm forced to use this version, here) Simple example here. Binary files printing and desired precision

Hi, I'm printing a variable say z1 which is a 1-D array containing floating point numbers to a text file so that I can import into Matlab or GNUPlot for plotting. I've heard that binary files (.dat) are smaller than .txt files. I've read that fprintf has to be replaced with fwrite. My output file say dodo.dat should contain the values of array z1 with one floating number per line. I have %.16Le up in my code but I think that %.15Le is right as I have 15 precision digits with long double. I have put a dot (.) in the width position as I believe that this allows expansion to an arbitrary field to hold the desired number. Am I right? As an example with %.16Le, I can have an output like 1.0047914240730432e-002 which gives me 16 precision digits and the width of the field has the right width to display the number correctly. Is placing a dot (.) in the width position instead of a width value a good practice? Thanks a lot...

ASP.Net ListBox selections not working in Panel?

In my markup, the listbox is contained within an asp:panel and is populated during page load in the codebehind. That part works fine. It's when I select various items and submit that I have trouble. My handler loops through the listbox items but doesn't see any as being selected. I'm not sure why. Passing data back from detailViewController to Uitableview

I am currently at the issue where I have a UITableviewCell that needs to be updated. When the user presses on the uitableviewcell - THERES ONLY 1!!, the user is pushed to a UITABLEVIEWCONTROLLER where the user is allowed to select 1 of multiple cells with their own titles. I need to get the clicked tableviewcells title and pass the value back to the parentviewcontroller and update the 1 tableviewcell's name to the one the user clicked in the pushed uitableivewcontroller. Here is a picture of the parent viewcontroller... And heres the picture of the pushed viewcontroller.... I was told earlier yesterday that delegation would be needed but I am unsure what to do at this point :/. I'm creating a usercontrol that will have a series of LinkButtons. I've declared all of my link buttons at the top of my class LinkButton LB1 = new LinkButton(); LinkButton LB2 = new LinkButton(); //... LinkButton LB9 = new LinkButton(); now I'd like to be able to create a loop to access all of those link buttons so I don't have to write them all out every time. I tried something like this within my overridden CreateChildControls() method: for (int i = 1; i < 10; i++) { LinkButton lb = (LinkButton)FindControl("LB" + i.ToString()); lb.Text = i.ToString() + "-Button"; } I keep getting an exception saying that lb.Text... is not set to an instance of an object. The page has several different states, each with a different # in the url. Why my events aren't registered after postback?

I have a problem where I have a page with a checkbox : <asp:CheckBox runat="server" ID="chkSelectAll" OnCheckedChanged="chkSelectAll_CheckedChanged" EnableViewState="true" Text='<%# CommonFunctions.GetText(Page, "CreateTask", "chkSelectAll.text") %>' AutoPostBack="true" /> First I had the problem that when the event was raised the checkbox wasn't keeping the checked property value. This is still strange because nowhere in the application we set the EnableViewState to false and by default it should be true. Well this behavior was fixed by puting EnableViewState="true". So now, I have a checkbox that when I first load the page, wworks correctly. I check the box, the event is raised Checked property valu is good and the method is executed. Postback completes and renders the page. I check the box back to false, the event is not triggered and the page is reloaded with the previous data but the Checked Property stays at true. So after the first postback I seem to loose behavior of event and ViewState. We suspect the fact that we move dynamically the controls in the page (See answer here) But this suspicion doesn't explain why everything works perfectly after the first load and stops working after first PostBack. EDIT CODE SAMPLE I created a test project where you can experience my problem. At load if you check any checkbox both raise their respective event. After postback only the second raise both events. I seem to have a problem when I register the events after moving control.

I want to generate tooltip based on a dynamically changing background image in css. I am thinking of passing different values of 'index' so that it would generate the background image dynamically. Can anyone tell me how should I pass such values from a javascript ? I am creating the tooltip using var tooltip = document.createElement("div"); document.getElementById("map").appendChild(tooltip); tooltip.style.visibility="hidden"; and I think before calling this createElement, I should set background image.

Interrupting Prototype handler, alert() vs event.stop()

Here's the test page I'm using. With an alert in the handler: var fn = function() { alert("omg!"); } The form is not submitted. This is awfully curious. With event.stop(), which is supposed to prevent the browser taking the default action: var fn = function(event) { event.stop(); } We are sent to #fail. So alert() is more effective at preventing a submission than event.stop(). What gives? I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 and Prototype 1.6.0.3. This behaviour also appears in Prototype 1.6.1.
