  Hi All, I have got this error when using Enterprise Library 3.1 May 2007 version. We are developing a product and have a common lib directory beneath the Subversion Trunk directory <\Trunk\Lib\ into which we put all the third party DLLs. Inside this we have Microsoft\EnterpriseLibrary\v3.1 in which we have copied all the dlls from \Program Files\Microsoft Enterprise Library May2007\bin. Everything was working properly until one of the developers installed the source code on this machine. There were some dlls copied at the end of the source code installation and once that was done, he is not able to run the project anymore. He always gets this error 'Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data, Version=3.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)' What is the problem here? I thought that when the source code was installed it was just supposed to build everything and copy in the bin directory within the source code parent directory. Also we have copied the Dlls from Microsoft Enterprise Library May 2007\bin directory into our product development directory and references into our project with a copylocal flag set to true. Can anyone help me out here RK

• How can I validate the result in an ASP.NET MVC editor template?

  I have created an editor template for representing selecting from a dynamic dropdown list and it works as it should except for validation, which I have been unable to figure out. If the model has the [Required] attribute set, I want that to invalidate if the default option is selected. • Starting Wicket web application with OSGi HTTP Service

  I'm trying to start a Wicket Application using Felix implementation of OSGi HTTP service, for that I just register the service using WicketServlet with applicationClassName parameter: props.put("applicationClassName", MainApplication.class.getName()); service = (HttpService)context.getService(httpReference); service.registerServlet("/", new WicketServlet(), props, null); I have also tried using Felix Whiteboard implementation and registering the web service as a Servlet one: props.put("alias", "/"); props.put("init.applicationClassName", MainApplication.class.getName()); registration = context.registerService(Servlet.class.getName(), new WicketServlet(), props); In both cases it fails when I deploy it using Pax Runner and Felix (mvn package install pax:run -Dframework=felix -Dprofiles=log,config), the exception seems to be related with the ClassLoader: [Jetty HTTP Service] ERROR org.apache.felix.http.whiteboard - Failed to register servlet org.apache.wicket.WicketRuntimeException: Unable to create application of class es.warp.sample.HTTPLocalGUI.MainApplication .... .... at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:252) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:320) at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:247) .... .... I have tried to export everything in the bundle and it does the same. The strangest thing is that it works perfectly if I deploy it using Equinox (mvn package install pax:run -Dframework=felix -Dprofiles=log,config). It seems to be a visibilty issue, but I don't know how to fix it, am I doing something wrong? Should I try to extend WicketServlet to take control on the instantiation of the application? Or maybe using an application Factory? Any light is welcomed.

• EWS 2010: Public Folder Problem using .NET

  I've recently coded a .NET Console app using C#. It's purpose was to read the emails within a specific folder, parse them for specific values and save them to a database. Our email system, at the time I originally coded this, was Exchange 2003. However, I was made aware we would soon be upgrading to Exchange 2010: ergo, I built the code to work in both environments. Following the migration to 2010, however, the app has broken. The app uses the EWS API for 2010 functionality. When it attempts to use the ExchangeService's FindFolders method to find the publicfoldersroot, it throws an exception. The operation failed.") -Giving myself the highest level of permission to the Public Folder (no effect) -Manually setting my credentials (no effect) I can view the public folders in outlook; the publicfoldersroot property is available in the intellisense; the code works on local folders (I can parse my inbox). My current thinking is that it's a setting on the recent setup of Exchange 2010: unfortunately that isn't really my field.

• Creating ViewResults outside of Controllers in ASP.NET MVC

  Several of my controller actions have a standard set of failure-handling behavior. In general, I want to: Load an object based on the Route Data (IDs and the like) If the Route Data does not point to a valid object (ex: through URL hacking) then inform the user of the problem and return an HTTP 404 Not Found Validate that the current user has the proper permissions on the object If the user doesn't have permission, inform the user of the problem and return an HTTP 403 Forbidden If the above is successful, then do something with that object that's action-specific (ie: render it in a view). These steps are so standardized that I want to have reusable code to implement the behavior. My current plan of attack was to have a helper method to do something like this: public static ActionResult HandleMyObject(this Controller controller, Func<MyObject,ActionResult> onSuccess) { var myObject = MyObject.LoadFrom(controller.RouteData). if ( myObject == null ) return NotFound(controller); if ( myObject.IsNotAllowed(controller.User)) return NotAllowed(controller); return onSuccess(myObject); } # NotAllowed() is pretty much the same as this public static NotFound(Controller controller){ controller.HttpContext.Response.StatusCode = 404 # NotFound.aspx is a shared view. I've looked at creating a new ViewResult instance explicitly, but there's enough properties to set that I'm wary about doing so without knowing the pitfalls first. What's the best way to create a ViewResult from outside a particular Controller?

• Crazy idea: Connect .NET and SAP with SAP JCo using IKVM.NET

  Because the SAP Connector for .NET is no longer maintained by SAP, I am now looking for an alternative to connect the Microsoft world with the SAP world. I know there a third party products like ERPConnect, but I want to do this with tools from SAP. Therefore there arised the crazy idea to use the SAP Java Connector in combination with the tool IKVM.NET (www.ikvm.net/devguide/net2java.html). IKVM.NET provides The IKVMC tool, which converts Java bytecode to .NET dll's and exe's. "No sooner said than done!" I converted the SAP JCo to .NET dlls and created a new Visual Studio solution. I put all the JCO files into a subdirectory of my solution. I set 2 references to the generated IKVM.OpenJDK.Core.dll and sapjco.dll. Great, all JCO classes where now available as .NET classes. Full of optimism I wrote some little code to connect to a SAP system. JCO.Client client = null; client = JCO.createClient(...) The compiliation of my testcode had no errors. "Wonderful !" I thought. Then I started my tetstapplication. Unfortunately I got an exception calling JCO.createClient: Could not load middleware layer 'com.sap.mw.jco.rfc.MiddlewareRFC'\r\nno sapjcorfc in java.library.path I have 2 questions on this topic. 1) Do you think my idea using SAP Java Connector to connect .NET with SAP is a good idea or is it nonsens ? Perhaps someone had already the same idea ;-) 2) How can the above exception be solved ?

• Using FluentValidation with Castle Windsor and Entity Framework 4.0 (POCO) in MVC2

  This isn't a very simple question, but hopefully someone has run across it. I am trying to get the following things working together: MVC2 FluentValidation Entity Framework 4.0 (POCO) Castle Windsor I've pretty much gotten everything working. I have Castle Windsor implemented and working with the Controllers being served up by the WindsorControllerFactory that is part of MVCContrib. I also have Castle serving up the FluentValidation validators as is described by this article: http://www.jeremyskinner.co.uk/2010/02/22/using-fluentvalidation-with-an-ioc-container/ My problem comes in when I try to use Html.EditorForModel or EditorFor on a view. When I try to do that I get this error message: No component for supporting the service FluentValidation.IValidator`1[[System.Data.Entity.DynamicProxies.State_71C51A42554BA6C3CF05105DA05435AD209602C217FC4C34CA52ACEA2B06B99B, EntityFrameworkDynamicProxies-BrindleyInsurance.BusinessObjects, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null]] was found This is due to using the POCO generation on Entity Framework 4.0. At runtime, the generated classes get wrapped with a Dynamic Proxy so tracking and lazy loading can happen. Apparently, when using EditorForModel or EditorFor, it tries to ask Windsor to create a validator for the dynamic proxy type instead of the underlying real type. Does anyone know what I can do to solve this issue?

  Hi! I have a OdbcDataReader that gets data from a database and returns a set of records. The code that executes the query looks as follows: OdbcDataReader reader = command.ExecuteReader(); while (reader.Read()) { yield return reader.AsMovexProduct(); } The method returns an IEnumerable of a custom type (MovexProduct). What does work is encapsulating the property-assignment in a try {} catch (NullReferenceException) {} block - but that can lead to performance-loss (can it not?). I am running the x64 version of Visual Studio and I'm using a 64-bit odbc driver. Has anyone else come across this? Any suggestions as to how I could solve / get around this issue? Many thanks!

• ASP.NET MVC model binding with nested child models and PartialViews

  I have a model called Page, which has a property called Content of type EditableContent. EditableContent have SidebarLeft and SidebarRight (type TemplateSection). I want to edit the Page instance, in my Edit.aspx view. Because EditableContent is also attached to other models, I have a PartialView called ContentEditor.ascx that is strongly typed and takes an instance of EditableContent and renders it. The rendering part all works fine, but when I post - everything inside my ContentEditor is not binded - which means that Page.Content is null. On the PartialView, I use the strongly typed Html Helpers to do this: <%= Html.HiddenFor(m => m.TemplateId) %> And so on. But because the input elements on the form, rendered by ContentEditor.ascx, does not get the "Content" prefix to its id attribute - the values are not binded to Page. So to overcome this, I've definitely done the wrong thing. Used loosely typed Html Helpers instead: <%= Html.Hidden("Content.TemplateId", Model.TemplateId) %> And when I'm dealing with a property that is a List of something it gets very ugly. I then have to render collection indexes manually... doh What am I missing here? A BindPrefix in the controller action that the Form is being posted to? Should I put both Page and EditableContent as parameters to the controller action: public ActionResult Edit(Page page, EditableContent content) { ... } Any help is much appreciated!

• Android app resets on orientation change, best way to handle?

  So I am making a basic chess app to play around with some various elements of android programming and so far I am learning a lot, but this time I am lost. When the orientation of the emulator changes the activity gets reset. Based on my research the same thing will happen anytime the application is paused/interrupted, ie. keyboard change, phone call, hitting the home key etc. Obviously, it is not viable to have a chess game constantly reset, so once again I find myself needing to learn how to fix this problem. My research brings up a few main things, overriding the onPaused method in my Activity, listening for Orientation, Keyboard changes in my manifest (via android:configChanges), using Parcelables, or Serialization. I have looked up a lot of sample code using Pacelables, but to be honest it is too confusing. Maybe coming back tomorrow with fresh eyes will be beneficial, but right now the more I look at Parcelables the less sense it makes. My application utilizes a Board object, which has 64 Cell Objects(in an 8x8 2D array), and each cell has a Piece Object, either an actual piece or null if the space is empty. Assuming that I use either Parcelable or Serialization I am assuming that I would have to Parcelize or Serialize each class, Board, Cell, and Piece. First and foremost, is Parcelable or Serialization even the right thing to be looking at for this problem? If so is either Parcelable or Serializable preferred for this? And am I correct in assuming that each of the three objects would have to be Parceled/Serialized? Finally, does anybody have a link to a simple to understand Parcelable tutorial? Anything to help me understand, and stop further headaches down the road when my application expands even further. Any help would be appreciated.

• How to Customize JAXB Marshalling if generating JAXB beans from XML

  Hello, I want to customize the marshalling of dates in JAXB. It's a variant of this already asked question. I would think I would use an XMLAdapter, as this answer questions specifies. But I can't do that exactly, because I'm going the other way around, generating the JAXB beans from an .XSD -- I can't add annotations to the JAXB beans because they are generated code. I've tried calling Marshaller.setAdapter(), but with no luck. final Marshaller marshaller = getJaxbContext().createMarshaller(); marshaller.setSchema(kniSchema); marshaller.setAdapter(new DateAdapter()); ... private static class DateAdapter extends XmlAdapter<String, XMLGregorianCalendar> { @Override public String marshal(XMLGregorianCalendar v) throws Exception { return "hello"; //Just a test to see if it's working } @Override public XMLGregorianCalendar unmarshal(String v) throws Exception { return null; // Don't care about this for now } } Where the relevant part of my generated JAXB bean looks like this: @XmlSchemaType(name = "date") protected XMLGregorianCalendar activeSince; When I do this, what the default date/XMLGregorianCalendar marshalling happens. • Using Xlib via JNA to move a window

  I'm using JNA to manipulate application windows on Linux by sending Xlib messages but can't seem to move a window. My original implementation executed wmctrl on the shell to move the windows and that successfully moved the windows. Unfortunately, there's a noticeable amount of overhead associated with calling shell programs from Java, so now I'm trying to make direct API calls using JNA. I'm using the X11 example available from the JNA website and can successfully do a few tricks, such as enumerating the window IDs and reading window properties, so I know JNA+Xlib is at least partially working. First I tried moving the windows directly using XMoveWindow() but the window manager was apparently blocking those calls. I ran across a thread that suggested I needed to send a client message using XSendMessage(), so I've done that below, but apparently XSendMessage() is failing because the window doesn't move and I get a return value of 0. I'm guessing I omitted something obvious, but can't quite figure it out. Any suggestions? Note that, for the purposes of this example, the main method has a window ID hard-coded. But once it points to a different site, all the fields appear, but the values all appear in the following format: Failed to render "Title" column because of an error in the "Single line of text" field type control. See details in log. Exception message: List does not exist The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user.. If I change the ControlMode to Edit, the values are displayed correctly. So how do I get it to work while in Display mode?

• Adding visible "Markers" to represent Geopoints to a MapView using ItemizedOverlay in Android

  Hello, I am building an application which stores GPS locations in a SQLite database and then outputs the data onto a MapView using an Overlay by drawing a red line between the points. I want to be able to show graphical markers (images) for each of these points as well as the red line.   So I'm fetching a JSON string from a php script in my iPhone app using: NSURL *baseURL = [NSURL URLWithString:@"test.php"]; NSError *encodeError = [[NSError alloc] init]; NSString *jsonString = [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:baseURL encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:&encodeError]; NSLog(@"Error: %@", [encodeError localizedDescription]); NSLog(@"STRING: %@", jsonString); The JSON string validates when I test the output. Now I'm having an encoding issue. When I fetch a single echo'd line such as: { "testKey":"é" } (I'm aware I could\should be using NSUrlConnection for asynchronous fetching of data, but at this point in the app development, I don't really need it.) The JSON parser works fine and I am able to create a valid JSON object. However, when I fetch my 2MB JSON string, I get presented with: Error: Operation could not be completed. (Cocoa error 261.) and a Null string. My PHP file is UTF8 itself and I am not using utf8_encode() because that seems to double encode the data since I'm already pulling the data as NSUTF8StringEncoding. Either way, in my single-echo test, it's the approach that allowed me to successfully log \ASDAS style UTF8 escapes when building the JSON object. What could be causing the error in the case of the larger string? Also, I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm using the php function addslashes() on my parsed php data to account for quotes and such when building the JSON string.

  I would like to create model binding functionality so a user can enter ',' '.' etc for currency values which bind to a double value of my ViewModel. I was able to do this in MVC 1.0 by creating a custom model binder, however since upgrading to MVC 2.0 this functionality no longer works. Does anyone have any ideas or better solutions for performing this functionality? • Integration test failing through NUnit Gui/Console, but passes through TestDriven in IDE

  I am using NHibernate against an Oracle database with the NHibernate.Driver.OracleDataClientDriver driver class. I have an integration test that pulls back expected data properly when executed through the IDE using TestDriven.net. However, when I run the unit test through the NUnit GUI or Console, NHibernate throws an exception saying it cannot find the Oracle.DataAccess assembly. Obviously, this prevents me from running my integration tests as part of my CI process. NHibernate.HibernateException : The IDbCommand and IDbConnection implementation in the assembly Oracle.DataAccess could not be found. Ensure that the assembly Oracle.DataAccess is located in the application directory or in the Global Assembly Cache. If the assembly is in the GAC, use element in the application configuration file to specify the full name of the assembly.* I have tried making the assembly available in two ways, by copying it into the bin\debug folder and by adding the element in the config file. Again, both methods work when executing through TestDriven in the IDE. Neither work when executing through NUnit GUI/Console.   The scenario is as follows, I have 3 objects (i simplified the names) named Parent, parent's child & child's child parent's child is a set in parent, and child's child is a set in child. mapping is as follows (relevant parts) parent <set name="parentset" table="pc-table" lazy="false" fetch="subselect" cascade="all-delete-orphan" inverse="true"> <key column=FK_ID_PC" on-delete="cascade"/> <one-to-many class="parentchild,parentchild-ns"/> </set> parent's child <set name="childset" table="cc-table" lazy="false" fetch="subselect" cascade="all-delete-orphan" inverse="true"> <key column="FK_ID_CC" on-delete="cascade"/> <one-to-many class="childschild,childschild-ns"/> </set> What i want to achieve is that when i delete the parent, there would be a cascade delete all the way trough to child's child. But what currently happens is this. (this is purely for mapping test purposes) getting a parent entity (works fine) IQuery query = session.CreateQuery("from Parent where ID =" + ID); IParent doc = query.UniqueResult<Parent>(); now the delete part session.Delete(doc); transaction.Commit(); After having solved the 'cannot insert null value' error with cascading and inverse i hopes this would now delete everything with this code, but only the parent is being deleted. Did i miss something in my mapping which is likely to be missed? Any hint in the right direction is more than welcome!

  I am following this tutorial, I'm using netbeans 6.5.1 http://www.netbeans.org/kb/docs/java/gui-db-custom.html When I get to the part where I create the "new entity class from database", which is in the "Customizing the Master/Detail View" section of the tutoiral. I can't ever compile because I get this error in the task list (and I get a runtime error when I run)... Atleast I think these two are related.
