  • Redirecting to wrong relative address

    Hi All: I have an issue with not getting the correct relative url. Right now, say my home page is at (please ignore quotation) "http://www.foo.com/user/home" I have links on the homepage that should go to "http://www.foo.com/user/home/page1" but right now I'm getting "http://www.foo.com/page1" Everything worked locally, can this be fixed with modifying .htaccess and how? Profile pages, job postings, and video chat would be plus. Already have a team of admins savvy with web apps to help manage it but our developer resources are limited (3-4 programmers) and looking to save time in development as opposed to building our new site from scratch.

  • Storing PDFs in MS Access Database using Forms

    I need to store PDF files in an Access database on a shared drive using a form. I figured out how to do this in tables (using the OLE Object field, then just drag-and-drop) but I would like to do this on a Form that has a Save button. Clicking the save button would store the file (not just a link) in the database. Any ideas on how to do this? EDIT: I am using Access 2003, and the DB will be stored on a share drive, so I'm not sure linking to the files will solve the problem.

    I need help in trying to use curl to post data to a page and retrieve the results after the form has been submitted. I created a simple form: <form name="test" method="post" action="form.php"> <input type="text" name="name" size="40" />e <input type="text" name="comment" size="140" /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="submit" /> </form> In addition, I have php code to handle this form in the same page. All it does is echo back the form values. The curl that I have been using is this: $h = curl_init(); curl_setopt($h, CURLOPT_URL, "path/to/form.php"); curl_setopt($h, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($h, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, array( 'name' = 'yes', 'comment' = 'no' )); curl_setopt($h, CURLOPT_HEADER, false); curl_setopt($h, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); $result = curl_exec($h); When I launch the page with the curl code in it, I get the form.php page contents but it doesn't not show the variables that PHP should have echo'd when the form is submitted. would appreciate any help with this.     Hi, I can't seem to get the jQuery.ajax() function posting back any of my asp.net generated form controls. I've put a break point on the server side and there aren't any values. Is there a way around this or do I have to build up a list of what I want sent back? Another question slightly off topic, but it seems that although jQuery is a great JS library, it doesn't seem to integrate too well with .net. Has anyone given up with jQuery to perform server side interaction and just gone with ms ajax implementation?

  • None of my Win Forms buttons work

    I have a windows form which connects to a SQL Server though a dataset. The form was working fine since my last compile. All of a sudden, none of my buttons work! The data is loaded on the form, all the tabs work fine, drop down boxes work fine, but the buttons are literally unresponsive to any clicks. I added a test button and I get the same results. I can visually see the button getting clicked but no events. Any ideas?

    Maybe I've been working on my site for to long, but I can't get the following to work. I am having my textarea fire an onkeyup() event called limiter which is supposed to check the textarea and limit the text in the box, while updated another readonly input field that shows the amount of characters left.     Hello, I am trying to perform some calculations with a form but every time i try to work with checkboxes it goes wrong. The checkboxes are beign set on value 1 in the form itselff and are being checked if there checked or not. $verdieping = isset($_POST["verdieping"]) ? $_POST["verdieping"] : 0; $telefoon = isset($_POST["telefoon"]) ? $_POST["telefoon"] : 0; $netwerk = isset($_POST["netwerk"]) ? $_POST["netwerk"] : 0; When i try to do calculations every works expect for the options with the checkboxes. When both checkboxes (telefoon & netwerk) are selected the value should be 30. If only one is selected the value should be 20. But no mather what i have tried to write down it always give problem, and it always uses 20, never the value 30. How do i solve this problem? Or suppose i am writing the syntax all wrong to lay conditions to a calculation? So I used the following to return the needed data: $questions = $this->Response->Question->find('all', array( 'conditions' => array('survey_id' => $id), 'contain' => array('Choice') ) ); Sample output for debug($questions). Questions Is there a contain() option so that an associated model returns in the find('list') format so that I could use: foreach($question as $questions) { $this-Form-select('field_name', $question['Choice']); } If no option is available, how could I do this using PHP's builting array methods?     So what I want to do is, in my main layout, have a menu for logged in users, and a different for anon users. THe layout will be used on every page, so I'm not sure how to do this, as I've seen, the Auth Component can only be used in the controller, this would be nice if I had to do this in only one view, but for every view, how can I do this?   • Library of ALL countries and their states for address forms

    I need a library that includes all countries and respective codes in 1 array and a second multidimensional array for country to its states and a last array for state code to state name. I found tons of matches for similar requests but none actually have a simple CSV or XML with just that. My goal is to build an address form where you select your country and it then pre-populates the state dropdown - if the country has states - with the country's states. Shouldn't be so hard to find, but I guess i'm blind. Thanks so much for all help!

  • What language/framework (technology) to use for website (flash games portal)

    Hello, I know there are a lot of similar questions on the net, but because I am a newbie in web development I didn't find the solution for my specific problem. I am planing on creating a flash games portal from scratch. It is a big chance that there will be big traffic from the beginning (millions of pageviews). I want to reduce the server costs as much as possible but in the same time to not be tide to an expensive contract as there is a chance that the project will not be as successfully as I want and in that case the money would be very little. The question is : what technology to use? I don't know any web dev technology yet so it doesn't matter what I will learn. My web dev experience is a little php 8 years ago, and from then I programmed in C++ / Java- game and mobile development. I like Java and C syntax and language very much and I tend to dislike dynamic typing or non robust scripting (like php)- but I can get along if these are the best choices. The candidates are now: - Grails (my best for now) Ruby on Rails Cake PHP Other technologies (Google App Engine, Python/Django etc...) I was considering at first using pure C and compiling the web app in the server- just to squeeze more from the servers, but soon I understand that this is overkill. Next my eyes came on Ruby - as there is a lot of buzz for it's easiness of use. Next I discovered Grails and looked at Java because it is said that it is "faster". But I don't know what this "Faster" really means on my needs, so here comes the first question: 1) What will be my biggest consumption on the server, other than bandwidth, for a lot of flash content requests? Is it memory? I heard that Java needs a lot of memory, but is faster. Is it CPU? I am planning to take some daily VPS.NET nodes at first, to see if there is a demand, and if the "spike" is permanent to move to a dedicated server (serverloft.com has some good offers), else to remain with less nodes. I was also considering developing in Google App Engine- cheap or free hosting to use at first - so I can test my assumption- and also very easy to use (no need for sys administration) but the costs became high if used more ( 3 million games played / month .. x mb/ each). And the issue with Google is that it looks me in this technology. My other concern is scalability (not only for traffic/users, but as adding functionality) My plans are to release a functional site in just 4 weeks (just the basics frontend and some quick basic backend - so I can be able to modify some things and add games manually) - but then to raise it and add more things to it. I am planning to take a little different approach than other portals so I need to write it from scratch (a script will not do). 2) Will Grails take much more resources than RoR or Php server wise? I heard that making it on Java stack will be hardware expensive and is overkill if you don't make a bank application. My application will not be very complex (I hope and i will try to) but will have a lot of traffic. I also took in account using CDN for files, but the cheapest CDN found was 5c/GB (vps.net) and the cost per gb on serverloft (http://www.serverloft.com/dedizierte-server/server-details.php?products=4) is only 1.79 cents/GB and comes with the other resources either. I am new to this domain (web). I am learning the ropes and searching on the web for ~half of year but don't have any really practical experience, so I know that I must have some naive thinking and other issues that i don't know from now, so please give me any advice you want regarding anything, not just the specific questions asked.
