  • Hibernate - strange order of native SQL parameters

    - by Xorty
    Hello, I am trying to use native MySQL's MD5 crypto func, so I defined custom insert in my mapping file. <hibernate-mapping package="tutorial"> <class name="com.xorty.mailclient.client.domain.User" table="user"> <id name="login" type="string" column="login"></id> <property name="password"> <column name="password" /> </property> <sql-insert>INSERT INTO user (login,password) VALUES ( ?, MD5(?) )</sql-insert> </class> </hibernate-mapping> Then I create User (pretty simple POJO with just 2 Strings - login and password) and try to persist it. session.beginTransaction(); // we have no such user in here yet User junitUser = (User) session.load(User.class, "junit_user"); assert (null == junitUser); // insert new user junitUser = new User(); junitUser.setLogin("junit_user"); junitUser.setPassword("junitpass"); session.save(junitUser); session.getTransaction().commit(); What actually happens? User is created, but with reversed parameters order. He has login "junitpass" and "junit_user" is MD5 encrypted and stored as password. What did I wrong? Thanks EDIT: ADDING POJO class package com.xorty.mailclient.client.domain; import java.io.Serializable; /** * POJO class representing user. * @author MisoV * @version 0.1 */ public class User implements Serializable { /** * Generated UID */ private static final long serialVersionUID = -969127095912324468L; private String login; private String password; /** * @return login */ public String getLogin() { return login; } /** * @return password */ public String getPassword() { return password; } /** * @param login the login to set */ public void setLogin(String login) { this.login = login; } /** * @param password the password to set */ public void setPassword(String password) { this.password = password; } /** * @see java.lang.Object#toString() * @return login */ @Override public String toString() { return login; } /** * Creates new User. * @param login User's login. * @param password User's password. */ public User(String login, String password) { setLogin(login); setPassword(password); } /** * Default constructor */ public User() { } /** * @return hashCode * @see java.lang.Object#hashCode() */ @Override public int hashCode() { final int prime = 31; int result = 1; result = prime * result + ((null == login) ? 0 : login.hashCode()); result = prime * result + ((null == password) ? 0 : password.hashCode()); return result; } /** * @param obj Compared object * @return True, if objects are same. Else false. * @see java.lang.Object#equals(java.lang.Object) */ @Override public boolean equals(Object obj) { if (this == obj) { return true; } if (obj == null) { return false; } if (!(obj instanceof User)) { return false; } User other = (User) obj; if (login == null) { if (other.login != null) { return false; } } else if (!login.equals(other.login)) { return false; } if (password == null) { if (other.password != null) { return false; } } else if (!password.equals(other.password)) { return false; } return true; } }

  • How to simulate inner join on very large files in java (without running out of memory)

    - by Constantin
    I am trying to simulate SQL joins using java and very large text files (INNER, RIGHT OUTER and LEFT OUTER). The files have already been sorted using an external sort routine. The issue I have is I am trying to find the most efficient way to deal with the INNER join part of the algorithm. Right now I am using two Lists to store the lines that have the same key and iterate through the set of lines in the right file once for every line in the left file (provided the keys still match). In other words, the join key is not unique in each file so would need to account for the Cartesian product situations ... left_01, 1 left_02, 1 right_01, 1 right_02, 1 right_03, 1 left_01 joins to right_01 using key 1 left_01 joins to right_02 using key 1 left_01 joins to right_03 using key 1 left_02 joins to right_01 using key 1 left_02 joins to right_02 using key 1 left_02 joins to right_03 using key 1 My concern is one of memory. I will run out of memory if i use the approach below but still want the inner join part to work fairly quickly. What is the best approach to deal with the INNER join part keeping in mind that these files may potentially be huge public class Joiner { private void join(BufferedReader left, BufferedReader right, BufferedWriter output) throws Throwable { BufferedReader _left = left; BufferedReader _right = right; BufferedWriter _output = output; Record _leftRecord; Record _rightRecord; _leftRecord = read(_left); _rightRecord = read(_right); while( _leftRecord != null && _rightRecord != null ) { if( _leftRecord.getKey() < _rightRecord.getKey() ) { write(_output, _leftRecord, null); _leftRecord = read(_left); } else if( _leftRecord.getKey() > _rightRecord.getKey() ) { write(_output, null, _rightRecord); _rightRecord = read(_right); } else { List<Record> leftList = new ArrayList<Record>(); List<Record> rightList = new ArrayList<Record>(); _leftRecord = readRecords(leftList, _leftRecord, _left); _rightRecord = readRecords(rightList, _rightRecord, _right); for( Record equalKeyLeftRecord : leftList ){ for( Record equalKeyRightRecord : rightList ){ write(_output, equalKeyLeftRecord, equalKeyRightRecord); } } } } if( _leftRecord != null ) { write(_output, _leftRecord, null); _leftRecord = read(_left); while(_leftRecord != null) { write(_output, _leftRecord, null); _leftRecord = read(_left); } } else { if( _rightRecord != null ) { write(_output, null, _rightRecord); _rightRecord = read(_right); while(_rightRecord != null) { write(_output, null, _rightRecord); _rightRecord = read(_right); } } } _left.close(); _right.close(); _output.flush(); _output.close(); } private Record read(BufferedReader reader) throws Throwable { Record record = null; String data = reader.readLine(); if( data != null ) { record = new Record(data.split("\t")); } return record; } private Record readRecords(List<Record> list, Record record, BufferedReader reader) throws Throwable { int key = record.getKey(); list.add(record); record = read(reader); while( record != null && record.getKey() == key) { list.add(record); record = read(reader); } return record; } private void write(BufferedWriter writer, Record left, Record right) throws Throwable { String leftKey = (left == null ? "null" : Integer.toString(left.getKey())); String leftData = (left == null ? "null" : left.getData()); String rightKey = (right == null ? "null" : Integer.toString(right.getKey())); String rightData = (right == null ? "null" : right.getData()); writer.write("[" + leftKey + "][" + leftData + "][" + rightKey + "][" + rightData + "]\n"); } public static void main(String[] args) { try { BufferedReader leftReader = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("LEFT.DAT")); BufferedReader rightReader = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("RIGHT.DAT")); BufferedWriter output = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter("OUTPUT.DAT")); Joiner joiner = new Joiner(); joiner.join(leftReader, rightReader, output); } catch (Throwable e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } After applying the ideas from the proposed answer, I changed the loop to this private void join(RandomAccessFile left, RandomAccessFile right, BufferedWriter output) throws Throwable { long _pointer = 0; RandomAccessFile _left = left; RandomAccessFile _right = right; BufferedWriter _output = output; Record _leftRecord; Record _rightRecord; _leftRecord = read(_left); _rightRecord = read(_right); while( _leftRecord != null && _rightRecord != null ) { if( _leftRecord.getKey() < _rightRecord.getKey() ) { write(_output, _leftRecord, null); _leftRecord = read(_left); } else if( _leftRecord.getKey() > _rightRecord.getKey() ) { write(_output, null, _rightRecord); _pointer = _right.getFilePointer(); _rightRecord = read(_right); } else { long _tempPointer = 0; int key = _leftRecord.getKey(); while( _leftRecord != null && _leftRecord.getKey() == key ) { _right.seek(_pointer); _rightRecord = read(_right); while( _rightRecord != null && _rightRecord.getKey() == key ) { write(_output, _leftRecord, _rightRecord ); _tempPointer = _right.getFilePointer(); _rightRecord = read(_right); } _leftRecord = read(_left); } _pointer = _tempPointer; } } if( _leftRecord != null ) { write(_output, _leftRecord, null); _leftRecord = read(_left); while(_leftRecord != null) { write(_output, _leftRecord, null); _leftRecord = read(_left); } } else { if( _rightRecord != null ) { write(_output, null, _rightRecord); _rightRecord = read(_right); while(_rightRecord != null) { write(_output, null, _rightRecord); _rightRecord = read(_right); } } } _left.close(); _right.close(); _output.flush(); _output.close(); } UPDATE While this approach worked, it was terribly slow and so I have modified this to create files as buffers and this works very well. Here is the update ... private long getMaxBufferedLines(File file) throws Throwable { long freeBytes = Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory() / 2; return (freeBytes / (file.length() / getLineCount(file))); } private void join(File left, File right, File output, JoinType joinType) throws Throwable { BufferedReader leftFile = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(left)); BufferedReader rightFile = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(right)); BufferedWriter outputFile = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(output)); long maxBufferedLines = getMaxBufferedLines(right); Record leftRecord; Record rightRecord; leftRecord = read(leftFile); rightRecord = read(rightFile); while( leftRecord != null && rightRecord != null ) { if( leftRecord.getKey().compareTo(rightRecord.getKey()) < 0) { if( joinType == JoinType.LeftOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.LeftExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullOuterJoin ) { write(outputFile, leftRecord, null); } leftRecord = read(leftFile); } else if( leftRecord.getKey().compareTo(rightRecord.getKey()) > 0 ) { if( joinType == JoinType.RightOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.RightExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullOuterJoin ) { write(outputFile, null, rightRecord); } rightRecord = read(rightFile); } else if( leftRecord.getKey().compareTo(rightRecord.getKey()) == 0 ) { String key = leftRecord.getKey(); List<File> rightRecordFileList = new ArrayList<File>(); List<Record> rightRecordList = new ArrayList<Record>(); rightRecordList.add(rightRecord); rightRecord = consume(key, rightFile, rightRecordList, rightRecordFileList, maxBufferedLines); while( leftRecord != null && leftRecord.getKey().compareTo(key) == 0 ) { processRightRecords(outputFile, leftRecord, rightRecordFileList, rightRecordList, joinType); leftRecord = read(leftFile); } // need a dispose for deleting files in list } else { throw new Exception("DATA IS NOT SORTED"); } } if( leftRecord != null ) { if( joinType == JoinType.LeftOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.LeftExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullOuterJoin ) { write(outputFile, leftRecord, null); } leftRecord = read(leftFile); while(leftRecord != null) { if( joinType == JoinType.LeftOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.LeftExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullOuterJoin ) { write(outputFile, leftRecord, null); } leftRecord = read(leftFile); } } else { if( rightRecord != null ) { if( joinType == JoinType.RightOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.RightExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullOuterJoin ) { write(outputFile, null, rightRecord); } rightRecord = read(rightFile); while(rightRecord != null) { if( joinType == JoinType.RightOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.RightExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullExclusiveJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullOuterJoin ) { write(outputFile, null, rightRecord); } rightRecord = read(rightFile); } } } leftFile.close(); rightFile.close(); outputFile.flush(); outputFile.close(); } public void processRightRecords(BufferedWriter outputFile, Record leftRecord, List<File> rightFiles, List<Record> rightRecords, JoinType joinType) throws Throwable { for(File rightFile : rightFiles) { BufferedReader rightReader = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(rightFile)); Record rightRecord = read(rightReader); while(rightRecord != null){ if( joinType == JoinType.LeftOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.RightOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.InnerJoin ) { write(outputFile, leftRecord, rightRecord); } rightRecord = read(rightReader); } rightReader.close(); } for(Record rightRecord : rightRecords) { if( joinType == JoinType.LeftOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.RightOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.FullOuterJoin || joinType == JoinType.InnerJoin ) { write(outputFile, leftRecord, rightRecord); } } } /** * consume all records having key (either to a single list or multiple files) each file will * store a buffer full of data.   • Matlab crashes on library initialize when called from Java

    - by David Sauter
Hello everyone. The setup I have is I'm using a Java application to call native C-code with JNI, which in turn starts up the MATLAB runtime and calls functions on it (I know there are other solutions to call MATLAB methods from Java). The problem is that the MATLAB engine crashes at some point during the initialization and I don't know what's causing it exactly. The crash causes my jvm to terminate, I assume it's some kind of memory corruption. The C++ code calling MATLAB functions that is actually crashing is JNIEXPORT void JNICALL some_jni_vodoo_initializeLibrary(JNIEnv* env, jclass thisClass) { try { if (!mclInitializeApplication(NULL, 0)) { THROW_EXCEPTION(env, "Could not initialize the application properly."); return; } if (!<library>Initialize()) { THROW_EXCEPTION(env, "Could not initialize the library."); return; } } ... The function <library>Initialize() crashes here, the Java error log reads Stack Trace: [0] jmi.dll:0x793f4175(0x7934cdca, 1, 0x7937e67c "à;.y`[email protected] in C:\BUILD_ARE..", 0x792d6a32) [1] jvm.dll:0x792df9a5(0xc0000005, 0x79356791, 0x4961b400 "Ð\8y", 0x6d8b29de) [2] jvm.dll:0x792e0431(0x8b515008, 0x70f0e8ce, 0x8b5ffffa, 0xc25d5ec6) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fatal Java Exception detected at Fri Apr 30 11:08:08 2010 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Configuration: MATLAB Version: 7.8.0.347 (R2009a) MATLAB License: unknown Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista Window System: Version 6.0 (Build 6002: Service Pack 2) Processor ID: x86 Family 6 Model 10 Stepping 5, GenuineIntel Virtual Machine: Java is not enabled Default Encoding: windows-1252 Java is not enabled I really have no idea what could be wrong. Is there not enough memory from the jvm? I guess the problem is somehow related to Java, since calling the JNI functions from a simple test C++ program works fine... Thanks

  • EJB client can't find a DataSource that tests successfully in WebLogic admin console

    - by suszterpatt
Disclaimer: I'm completely new to JEE/EJB and all that, so bear with me. I have a simple EJB that I can successfully deploy using JDeveloper 11g's integrated WebLogic server and a remote database connection (JDBC). I have a DataSource named "PGY2" defined in WebLogic, and I can test it successfully from the admin console. Here's the code of the client I'm trying to test it with (generated entirely by JDev except for the three method calls on adminManager): public class AdminManagerClient { public static void main(String [] args) { try { final Context context = getInitialContext(); AdminManager adminManager = (AdminManager)context.lookup("Uran-AdminManager#hu.elte.pgy2.BACNAAI.UranEJB.AdminManager"); adminManager.addAdmin("root", "root", "Kovács Isten"); adminManager.addStudent("BACNAAI", "matt", "B Cs", 2005); adminManager.addTeacher("SIPKABT", "patt", "S P", "numanal", "Dr."); } catch (Exception ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } } private static Context getInitialContext() throws NamingException { Hashtable env = new Hashtable(); // WebLogic Server 10.x connection details env.put( Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory" ); env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://127.0.0.1:7101"); return new InitialContext( env ); } } But when I try to run this, I get the following error on the line with adminManager.addAdmin (that is, after the lookup): javax.ejb.EJBException: EJB Exception: ; nested exception is: Exception [EclipseLink-4002] (Eclipse Persistence Services - 1.0.2 (Build 20081024)): org.eclipse.persistence.exceptions.DatabaseException Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLException: Internal error: Cannot obtain XAConnection Creation of XAConnection for pool PGY2 failed after waitSecs:30 : java.sql.SQLException: Data Source PGY2 does not exist. Why can't the client find the data source, and how do I make it find it? EDIT: I took a closer look at WebLogic's output during deployment, and I found this. I have no idea what it means, but it may be relevant: <2010.05.20. 0:50:43 CEST> <Error> <Deployer> <BEA-149231> <Unable to set the activation state to true for the application 'PGY2'. weblogic.application.ModuleException: at weblogic.jdbc.module.JDBCModule.activate(JDBCModule.java:349) at weblogic.application.internal.flow.ModuleListenerInvoker.activate(ModuleListenerInvoker.java:107) at weblogic.application.internal.flow.DeploymentCallbackFlow$2.next(DeploymentCallbackFlow.java:411) at weblogic.application.utils.StateMachineDriver.nextState(StateMachineDriver.java:37) at weblogic.application.internal.flow.DeploymentCallbackFlow.activate(DeploymentCallbackFlow.java:74) Truncated. see log file for complete stacktrace weblogic.common.ResourceException: is already bound at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.RmiDataSource.start(RmiDataSource.java:387) at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.DataSourceManager.createAndStartDataSource(DataSourceManager.java:136) at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.DataSourceManager.createAndStartDataSource(DataSourceManager.java:97) at weblogic.jdbc.module.JDBCModule.activate(JDBCModule.java:346) at weblogic.application.internal.flow.ModuleListenerInvoker.activate(ModuleListenerInvoker.java:107) Truncated. see log file for complete stacktrace >

  • How does a java web project architecture look like without EJB3 ?

    - by Hendrik
A friend and I are building a fairly complex website based on java. (PHP would have been more obvious but we chose for java because the educational aspect of this project is important to us) We have already decided to use JSF (with richfaces) for the front end and JPA for the backend and so far we have decided not to use EJB3 for the business layer. The reason we've decided not to use EJB3 is because - and please correct me if I am wrong - if we use EJB3 we can only run it on a full blown java application server like jboss and if we don't use EJB3 we can still run it on a lightweight server like tomcat. We want to keep speed and cost of our future web server in mind. So far i've worked on two JEE projects and both used the full stack with web business logic factories/persistence service entities with every layer a seperate module. Now here is my question, if you dont use EJB3 in the business logic layer. What does the layer look like? Please tell what is common practice when developing java web projects without ejb3? Do you think business logic layer can be thrown out altogether and have business logic in the backing beans? If you keep the layer, do you have all business methods static? Or do you initialize each business class as needed in the backing beans in every session as needed?

  • Factories, or Dependency Injection for object instantiation in WCF, when coding against an interface

    - by Saajid Ismail
Hi I am writing a client/server application, where the client is a Windows Forms app, and the server is a WCF service hosted in a Windows Service. Note that I control both sides of the application. I am trying to implement the practice of coding against an interface: i.e. I have a Shared assembly which is referenced by the client application. This project contains my WCF ServiceContracts and interfaces which will be exposed to clients. I am trying to only expose interfaces to the clients, so that they are only dependant on a contract, not any specific implementation. One of the reasons for doing this is so that I can have my service implementation, and domain change at any time without having to recompile and redeploy the clients. The interfaces/contracts will in this case not change. I only need to recompile and redeploy my WCF service. The design issue I am facing now, is: on the client, how do I create new instances of objects, e.g. ICustomer, if the client doesn't know about the Customer concrete implementation? I need to create a new customer to be saved to the DB. Do I use dependency injection, or a Factory class to instantiate new objects, or should I just allow the client to create new instances of concrete implementations? I am not doing TDD, and I will typically only have one implementation of ICustomer or any other exposed interface.

  • Has glassfish 2.1.1 a bug handling http request and handle them twice?

    - by marabol
I'm using glassfish 2.1.1. I've watched a mysterious http/webservice-call handling. It seams an http request is handled by two different threads. After http basic authentication the first thread is faster. Persisting some data end, but writing response fails in glassfish internal. The second thread fails, because it tries to persist identical data and there are (unique) constrain failures. The response (the failure) of second thread was delivered to client. I don't won't discuss the behavior with the unique constrain failure. I've improve the webservice, so it can handle this better, because it could be happen anytime, that the client send the ws call a second time. • Interface and partial classes

    - by Tomek Tarczynski
According to rule SA1201 in StyleCop elements in class must appear in correct order. The order is following: Fields Constructors Finalizers (Destructors) Delegates Events Enums Interfaces Properties Indexers Methods Structs Classes Everything is ok, except of Interfaces part, because Interface can contain mehtods, events, properties etc... If we want to be strict about this rule then we won't have all members of Interface in one place which is often very useful. According to StyleCop help this problem can be solved by spliting class into partial classes. Example: /// <summary> /// Represents a customer of the system. /// </summary> public partial class Customer { // Contains the main functionality of the class. } /// <content> /// Implements the ICollection class. /// </content> public partial class Customer : ICollection { public int Count { get { return this.count; } } public bool IsSynchronized { get { return false; } } public object SyncRoot { get { return null; } } public void CopyTo(Array array, int index) { throw new NotImplementedException(); } } Are there any other good solutions to this problem?

  • How to: Show wait cursor in managed and native code

    - by TechTwaddle
Someone on the MSDN forum asked about how to show a wait cursor, like when your application is loading or performing some (background) task. It’s pretty simple to show the wait cursor in both managed and native code, and in this post we will see just how. Managed Code (C#) Set Cursor.Current to Cursors.WaitCursor, and call Cursor.Show(). And to come back to normal cursor, set Cursor.Current to Cursors.Default and call Show() again. Below is a button handler for a sample app that I made, (watch the video below) private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) {     lblProgress.Text = "Downloading ether...";     lblProgress.Update();     Cursor.Current = Cursors.WaitCursor;     Cursor.Show();     //do some processing     for (int i = 0; i < 50; i++)     {         progressBar1.Value = 2 * (i + 1);         Thread.Sleep(100);     }     Cursor.Current = Cursors.Default;     Cursor.Show();     lblProgress.Text = "Download complete.";     lblProgress.Update(); }   Native Code In native code, call SetCursor(LoadCursor(NULL, IDC_WAIT)); to show the wait cursor; and SetCursor(LoadCursor(NULL, IDC_ARROW)); to come back to normal. The same button handler for native version of the app is below, case IDC_BUTTON_DOWNLOAD:     {         HWND temp;         temp = GetDlgItem(hDlg, IDC_STATIC_PROGRESS);         SetWindowText(temp, L"Downloading ether...");         UpdateWindow(temp);         SetCursor(LoadCursor(NULL, IDC_WAIT));         temp = GetDlgItem(hDlg, IDC_PROGRESSBAR);         for (int i=0; i<50; i++)         {             SendMessage(temp, PBM_SETPOS, (i+1)*2, 0);             Sleep(100);         }         SetCursor(LoadCursor(NULL, IDC_ARROW));         temp = GetDlgItem(hDlg, IDC_STATIC_PROGRESS);         SetWindowText(temp, L"Download Complete.");         UpdateWindow(temp);     }     break; Here is a video of the sample app running. First the managed version is deployed and the native version next,

  • Bind WCF webservice to specific network interface / IP

    - by Markus
On a machine with multiple network cards I need to bind a WCF webservice to a specific network interface. It seems that the default is to bind on all network interfaces. The machine has two network adapters with the IPs 192.168.0.10 and 192.168.0.11. I have an Apache running that binds on 192.168.0.10:80 and need to run the webservice on 192.168.0.11:80. (Due to external circumstances I cannot choose another port.) I tried the following: string endpoint = "http://192.168.0.11:80/SOAP"; ServiceHost = new ServiceHost(typeof(TService), new Uri(endpoint)); ServiceHost.AddServiceEndpoint(typeof(TContract), Binding, ""); // or: ServiceHost.AddServiceEndpoint(typeof(TContract), Binding, endpoint); But it doesn't work; netstat -ano -p tcp always shows the webservice listening on 0.0.0.0:80, which is all interfaces (if I got that correct). When I start Apache first, it correctly binds to the other interface, which in turn prevents the WCF service to bind to "all". Any ideas?

  • Personalized UIView created with Interface Builder

    - by Malox
I need to project a personalized UIView with a UIImageView and 3 UILabel. I need to allocate more of this view because I want put it into a UIScrollView. I would avoid to generate the view programatically because it's difficult and boring design it. My idea is to create a new class that extends UIView and design it with interface builder. For example my Personalized View code is like that: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface PersonalizedPreview : UIView { IBOutlet UIImageView *image; IBOutlet UILabel *first_label; IBOutlet UILabel *second_label; IBOutlet UILabel *third_label; } -(void) setImage:(UIImage *)image; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIImageView *image; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UILabel *label; .... @end I would create an associated xib file for this view and initialize it simply specifing the xib file. Note that I don't want create a specific ViewController for this view and PersonalizedView is instantiate at runtime not when the app runs, moreover I don't know how many PersonalizedView I will instantiate, it depends on runtime execution. Anyone can help me? Thank you very much.

  • Extending the method pool of a concrete class which is derived by an interface

    - by CelGene
Hello, I had created an interface to abstract a part of the source for a later extension. But what if I want to extend the derived classes with some special methods? So I have the interface here: class virtualFoo { public: virtual ~virtualFoo() { } virtual void create() = 0; virtual void initialize() = 0; }; and one derived class with an extra method: class concreteFoo : public virtualFoo { public: concreteFoo() { } ~concreteFoo() { } virtual void create() { } virtual void initialize() { } void ownMethod() { } }; So I try to create an Instance of concreteFoo and try to call ownMethod like this: void main() { virtualFoo* ptr = new concreteFoo(); concreteFoo* ptr2 = dynamic_cast(ptr); if(NULL != ptr2) ptr2->ownMethod(); } It works but is not really the elegant way. If I would try to use ptr-ownMethod(); directly the compiler complains that this method is not part of virtualFoo. Is there a chance to do this without using dynamic_cast? Thanks in advance!

  • Redirect output logs of javax.xml.ws and com.sun.xml.ws

I am working on a SOAP based web service, with Sun's Metro. I am facing an annoying bug, each time I send a malformed SOAP object to my web service, sun's api spam the System.out with logs like this: javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: com.sun.istack.XMLStreamException2: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: cvc-complex-type.4: Attribute 'type' must appear on element 'object'. at com.sun.xml.ws.util.pipe.AbstractSchemaValidationTube.doProcess(AbstractSchemaValidationTube.java:206) at com.sun.xml.ws.util.pipe.AbstractSchemaValidationTube.processRequest(AbstractSchemaValidationTube.java:175) at com.sun.xml.ws.api.pipe.Fiber.__doRun(Fiber.java:595) at com.sun.xml.ws.api.pipe.Fiber._doRun(Fiber.java:554) at com.sun.xml.ws.api.pipe.Fiber.doRun(Fiber.java:539) at com.sun.xml.ws.api.pipe.Fiber.runSync(Fiber.java:436) at com.sun.xml.ws.server.WSEndpointImpl$2.process(WSEndpointImpl.java:243) at com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.HttpAdapter$HttpToolkit.handle(HttpAdapter.java:444) at com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.HttpAdapter.handle(HttpAdapter.java:244) at com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.server.WSHttpHandler.handleExchange(WSHttpHandler.java:106) at com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.server.WSHttpHandler.handle(WSHttpHandler.java:91) at com.sun.net.httpserver.Filter$Chain.doFilter(Filter.java:65) at sun.net.httpserver.AuthFilter.doFilter(AuthFilter.java:54) at com.sun.net.httpserver.Filter$Chain.doFilter(Filter.java:68) at sun.net.httpserver.ServerImpl$Exchange$LinkHandler.handle(ServerImpl.java:555) at com.sun.net.httpserver.Filter$Chain.doFilter(Filter.java:65) at sun.net.httpserver.ServerImpl$Exchange.run(ServerImpl.java:527) at sun.net.httpserver.ServerImpl$DefaultExecutor.execute(ServerImpl.java:119) at sun.net.httpserver.ServerImpl$Dispatcher.handle(ServerImpl.java:349) at sun.net.httpserver.ServerImpl$Dispatcher.run(ServerImpl.java:321) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) Caused by: com.sun.istack.XMLStreamException2: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: cvc-complex-type.4: Attribute 'type' must appear on element 'object'. at com.sun.xml.ws.util.xml.StAXSource$1.parse(StAXSource.java:185) at com.sun.xml.ws.util.xml.StAXSource$1.parse(StAXSource.java:170) at org.apache.xerces.jaxp.validation.ValidatorHandlerImpl.validate(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.jaxp.validation.ValidatorImpl.validate(Unknown Source) at javax.xml.validation.Validator.validate(Validator.java:127) at com.sun.xml.ws.util.pipe.AbstractSchemaValidationTube.doProcess(AbstractSchemaValidationTube.java:204) ... 20 more I would like to switch off this log or redirect it to my error/warn/debug.log files used by log4j. I tried to add a rule in my log4j.xml file : <category name="javax.xml.ws"> <priority value="error" /> </category> It didn't worked. So I tried the following trick: java.util.logging.Logger.getLogger("javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException").setLevel( java.util.logging.Level.OFF); it didn't worked neither. Any ideas ? It is not a big issue but it makes my catalina.log getting bigger & bigger and it's not the appropriate place for this kind of log. Chris

  • JAX-WS errors when SOAP body contains UTF-8 BOM

I have developed a Web Service using JAX-WS (v2.1.3 - Sun JDK 1.6.0_05) deployed on WebLogic 10.3 that works just fine when I use a Java client or SoapUI or other Web Services testing tools. Is there a workaround to get past this issue? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks --Vinny

    Hi all, I'm using Hibernate 3.2.1 and database SQLServer2000 while I'm try to insert some data using my dao, some warning occurred like this: java.sql.SQLWarning: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC]Database changed to BTN_SPP_DB at com.microsoft.jdbc.base.BaseWarnings.createSQLWarning(Unknown Source) at com.microsoft.jdbc.base.BaseWarnings.get(Unknown Source) at com.microsoft.jdbc.base.BaseConnection.getWarnings(Unknown Source) at org.hibernate.util.JDBCExceptionReporter.logAndClearWarnings(JDBCExceptionReporter.java:22) at org.hibernate.jdbc.ConnectionManager.closeConnection(ConnectionManager.java:443) at org.hibernate.jdbc.ConnectionManager.aggressiveRelease(ConnectionManager.java:400) at org.hibernate.jdbc.ConnectionManager.afterTransaction(ConnectionManager.java:287) at org.hibernate.jdbc.JDBCContext.afterTransactionCompletion(JDBCContext.java:221) at org.hibernate.transaction.JDBCTransaction.commit(JDBCTransaction.java:119) at co.id.hanoman.btnmw.spp.dao.TagihanDao.save(TagihanDao.java:43) at co.id.hanoman.btnmw.spp.dao.TagihanDao.save(TagihanDao.java:1) at co.id.hanoman.btnmw.spp.dao.test.TagihanDaoTest.testSave(TagihanDaoTest.java:81) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at org.junit.internal.runners.TestMethodRunner.executeMethodBody(TestMethodRunner.java:99) at org.junit.internal.runners.TestMethodRunner.runUnprotected(TestMethodRunner.java:81) at org.junit.internal.runners.BeforeAndAfterRunner.runProtected(BeforeAndAfterRunner.java:34) at org.junit.internal.runners.TestMethodRunner.runMethod(TestMethodRunner.java:75) at org.junit.internal.runners.TestMethodRunner.run(TestMethodRunner.java:45) at org.junit.internal.runners.TestClassMethodsRunner.invokeTestMethod(TestClassMethodsRunner.java:66) at org.junit.internal.runners.TestClassMethodsRunner.run(TestClassMethodsRunner.java:35) at org.junit.internal.runners.TestClassRunner$1.runUnprotected(TestClassRunner.java:42) at org.junit.internal.runners.BeforeAndAfterRunner.runProtected(BeforeAndAfterRunner.java:34) at org.junit.internal.runners.TestClassRunner.run(TestClassRunner.java:52) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit4.runner.JUnit4TestReference.run(JUnit4TestReference.java:45) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.TestExecution.run(TestExecution.java:38) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.runTests(RemoteTestRunner.java:460) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.runTests(RemoteTestRunner.java:673) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.run(RemoteTestRunner.java:386) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.main(RemoteTestRunner.java:196) my hibernate initialization is: 2010-04-26 22:54:05,203 INFO [Version] Hibernate Annotations 3.3.0.GA 2010-04-26 22:54:05,234 INFO [Environment] Hibernate 3.2.1 2010-04-26 22:54:05,234 INFO [Environment] hibernate.properties not found 2010-04-26 22:54:05,234 INFO [Environment] Bytecode provider name : cglib 2010-04-26 22:54:05,234 INFO [Environment] using JDK 1.4 java.sql.Timestamp handling 2010-04-26 22:54:05,343 INFO [Configuration] configuring from resource: /hibernate.cfg.xml 2010-04-26 22:54:05,343 INFO [Configuration] Configuration resource: /hibernate.cfg.xml 2010-04-26 22:54:05,406 DEBUG [DTDEntityResolver] trying to resolve system-id [http://hibernate.sourceforge.net/hibernate-configuration-3.0.dtd] 2010-04-26 22:54:05,406 DEBUG [DTDEntityResolver] recognized hibernate namespace; attempting to resolve on classpath under org/hibernate/ 2010-04-26 22:54:05,406 DEBUG [DTDEntityResolver] located [http://hibernate.sourceforge.net/hibernate-configuration-3.0.dtd] in classpath 2010-04-26 22:54:05,453 DEBUG [Configuration] hibernate.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.SQLServerDialect 2010-04-26 22:54:05,453 DEBUG [Configuration] hibernate.connection.driver_class=com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver 2010-04-26 22:54:05,453 DEBUG [Configuration] hibernate.connection.url=jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://12.56.11.65:1433;databaseName=BTN_SPP_DB 2010-04-26 22:54:05,453 DEBUG [Configuration] hibernate.connection.username=spp 2010-04-26 22:54:05,453 DEBUG [Configuration] hibernate.connection.password=spp

  • Why isn't Java more widely used for game development?

    - by Anto
I'm not a game developer or anything, but I know that Java is not very widely used for game development. Java should be fast enough for most games, so where's the catch? I can think of some reasons: Lack of game developers with expertice in Java Lack of good game development frameworks Programmers don't want to accept Java as a games programming language. Most only accept C++ as that? No support for game consoles (though the PC market still exists) It could of course be something else. Could someone who knows the business better than me explain why Java isn't getting momentum when it comes to game development?

  • Which version of Java should I use for learning?

    - by Dan
I am a QA engineer interested in mobile development and automation.I have basic programming experience (intermediate level Python, C++ programmer) and as most companies choose Java for writing frameworks I need to pickup Java. I use Ubutnu 12.04 LTS and I will be using Head First Java as learning material. When I searched for JDK options I found Oracle Java 6 and 7 and Open JDK. I read somewhere in Ubuntu forums that Java 6 is not recommended on Ubuntu systems and I am a little bit confused about which version should I use, that would be compatible with the book and the OS.

  • How should I do 3D games through Java on a mac?

    - by Steven Rogers
I have been self-teaching myself Java on the mac mostly because the language is cross-platform. Recently, I have been only able to develop 2D games using the Graphics2D class. Now, I want to learn how to make 3D games in Java. I used to model and animate stuff in 3D, so my knowledge of 3-Dimensional stuff is okay. I have spent the last 3 hours using google to look up ways of making 3D games in java. Apparently the best one to use is OpenGL, so i looked up a tutorial on it and i cannot find a tutorial that shows how to (if there is a way) install JOGL on the Mac platform. Should i continue to use Java? How can i make 3D games using Java? What is the best way to make 3D games on a mac?

  • Java dev learning Python: what concepts do I need to wrap my head around?

    - by LRE
I've run through a few tutorials and written some small projects. I'm right in the middle of a small project now infact. All is going well enough thanks in no small part to Uncle Google (who usually points me to Stackoverflow ;-) Several times in the last few days I've found myself wondering "what am I missing?" - I feel that I'm still thinking in Java as I write in Python. This question over at StackOverflow is full of tips about what resources to read up on for learning Python, but I still feel that I'm a Java dev with a dictionary (pun unintended) to translate into Python. What I really want to do is refactor my head to be able to write Pythonic Python instead of Java disguised as Python (not that I want to loose my Java skills). So, the crux of my question is: what concepts does a Java dev really need to learn to think Pythonic? This includes anything that needs to be un-learnt. ps: I consider language syntax to not be particularly relevant to this question.

  • What's the best way to get up to speed with Java?

    - by Kosta
I'm a software developer that just switched teams so I shall write code in Java now. Last time I wrote something in the language was in programming 101 at uni (I was already an amateur coder back then). So what is the best book/tutorial to get up to speed with Java? Where's the Java - the good parts? Learn you some Java for great good? Learn Java the hard way? Or is it too enterprisey for that kind of passion...?
