• How to mock/stub calls to message taglib in Grails controller

  I've got a Grails controller which relies on the message taglib to resolve an i18n message: class TokenController { def passwordReset = { def token = DatedToken.findById(params.id); if (!isValidToken(token, params)) { flash.message = message(code: "forgotPassword.reset.invalidToken") redirect controller: 'forgotPassword', action: 'index' return } render view:'/forgotPassword/reset', model: [token: token.token] } } I've written a unit test for the controller: class TokenControllerTests extends ControllerUnitTestCase { void testPasswordResetInvalidTokenRedirect() { controller.passwordReset() assert... } } Since the message taglib is called in the controller I get a MissingMethodException: groovy.lang.MissingMethodException: No signature of method: TokenController.message() is applicable for argument types: (java.util.LinkedHashMap) values: [[code:forgotPassword.reset.invalidToken]] Does anyone know the best way to get around this issue in a unit test? Ideally I would like to perform assertions on the message but right now I'd be happy if the test just ran! Thanks

• EF 4 - associations with keys that dont match

  We're using POCOs and have 2 entities: Item and ItemContact. There are 1 or more contacts per item. Item has as a primary key: ItemID LanguageCode ItemContact has: ItemID ContactID We cant add an association with a referrential constraint as they have differing keys. There isnt a strict primary / foreign key as languageCode isnt in ItemContact and ContactID isnt in Item. How can we go about mapping this with an association for contacts for an item if there isnt a direct link but I still want to see the contacts for an item? One of the entities originates in a database view so it is not possible to add foreign keys to the database Thanks Stephen Ward

• Is it Possible to Query Multiple Databases with WCF Data Services?

  I have data being inserted into multiple databases with the same schema. The multiple databases exist for performance reasons. I need to create a WCF service that a client can use to query the databases. However from the client's point of view, there is only 1 database. By this I mean when a client performs a query, it should query all databases and return the combined results. I also need to provide the flexibility for the client to define its own queries. Therefore I am looking into WCF Data Services, which provides the very nice functionality for client specified queries. So far, it seems that a DataService can only make a query to a single database. I found no override that would allow me to dispatch queries to multiple databases. Does anyone know if it is possible for a WCF Data Service to query against multiple databases with the same schema?

I want to submit the form and retrieve the checkbox values and capture the checked boxes. In the view: <% foreach (var item in Model.Results) { % <%= Html.CheckBox("selectedItem", new { value = item.ItemId })% <% } % In the viewmodel, how should I declare "selectedItem"? as a Inumerable, Int[], .... • Cocos2D, UIScrollView, and initial placement of a scene

  Hello: I am using a UIScrollView to forward touches to Cocos2D as outlined in http://getsetgames.com/2009/08/21/cocos2d-and-uiscrollview/ Everything works great after a few days of working with it, except one thing: when the initial view appears on the screen, the background appears to be scrolled to the center. As soon as I try to scroll around, the image jumps to 0,0, and everything works as normal, except the touches are offset by half the width and height of the background image. Am I overlooking something basic? I can't think of a useful portion of the code that illustrates the issue, as I can't track it down, but would be happy to post code if anyone has any ideas.   My views extend a base view class ive made: public class BaseView : ViewPage At the moment im calling ObjectFactory.GetInstance inside this class' constructor to get some interface implementations but id like to use structuremap to inject them as constructor arguments. Im using a structuremapcontrollerfactory to create my controllers, but how can i do the same for views? I know i can implement a custom ViewEngine, but using reflector to look at the mvc default viewengine and its dependencies, it seems to go on and on and i'd rather not have to re-implement stuff thats already there. Has anyone got a cunning idea how to solve this? I know i could make things easier with setter instead of constructor injection but id rather avoid that if possible.

  Hoping someone can shed some light on what I might be doing wrong here. Trying to add an "event" to a list of events, represented by a one to many (inverse) relationship: MyEvents <--- Event This is the code: MyEvents *myEvents = (MyEvents *)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"MyEvents" inManagedObjectContext:context]; NSLog(@"MYEVENTS: %@", myEvents); NSLog(@"EVENT: %@", event); [myEvents addEventObject:event]; My context is fine, and both the myEvents and event print perfectly valid information. When I try to add the event that I have (which is passed into this view controller, having been retrieved from core data previously) with this code [myEvents addEventObject:event]; It falls over with *** -[NSComparisonPredicate evaluateWithObject:]: message sent to deallocated instance MyEvents and Event are just the default generated code. MyEvents contains only the relationship to event. Thanks.

  I have a DataTemplate inside a global/shared ResourceDictionary like this which targets a DataType: <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type foo:Bar}"> <!-- My DataTemplate visual tree goes here... --> </DataTemplate> This DataTemplate replaces my all foo:Bar types on all my Views (UserControls/Windows). What I want to do is to apply this template to only certain views, keeping the other views are not affected by this DataTemplate. I can copy this DataTemplate to Resources sections of each of these view, but I don't want to copy/paste the contents of the DataTemplate which would result in maintenance headaches.

• Correct way to get absolute url in django

  A problem that I stumbled upon recently, and, even though I solved it, I would like to hear your opinion of what correct/simple/adopted solution would be. I'm developing website using Django + python. When I run it on local machine with "python manage.py runserver", local address is http://127.0.0.1:8000/ by default. However, on production server my app has other url, with path - like "http://server.name/myproj/" I need to generate and use permanent urls. If I'm using {% url view params %}, I'm getting paths that are relative to / , since my urls.py contains this urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^(\d+)?$', 'myproj.myapp.views.index'), (r'^img/(.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve', {'document_root': settings.MEDIA_ROOT + '/img' }), (r'^css/(.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve', {'document_root': settings.MEDIA_ROOT + '/css' }), ) So far, I see 2 solutions: modify urls.py, include '/myproj/' in case of production run use request.build_absolute_uri() for creating link in views.py or pass some variable with 'hostname:port/path' in templates Are there prettier ways to deal with this problem? • IE browser problems occurring with Javascript Movable Type SignIn widget!

  i am using movable type 4.23 (publishing system) and have been testing my site on a PC and discovered that internet explorer (IE) browsers are unable to view my site due to a conflict in the javascript of the signin widget (initially i thought it was in the mt.js file). i receive this error: "Error 80004004"...as well as in the Javascript itself: "Element is not an object" (or object is not an element?)... function mtUpdateSignInWidget(u) { var el = document.getElementById('signin-widget-content'); if i put in "id" where 'sign-widget-content' goes, it will say its not an object. all other browsers work perfectly (firefox, safari and opera on my mac and firefox on pc). if anyone wants a link to the test page, i can provide that... someone please help! thanks.

I'm unsure on how to use the GPG command line tool, that we're using to encrypt files. File.txt is a simple text file: Testing hello world My security things. This is how I encrypt the file: gpg --symmetric File.txt This gives me a new, encrypted file: File.txt.gpg If someone else now modifies the encrypted file, I'm no longer able to decrypt it. $ gpg --decrypt File.txt.gpg gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found. gpg: decrypt_message failed: eof How can I get the content of my file, even though someone has modified it?

  I think of a game as a state machine. Game States separate I/O processing, game logic and rendering into different classes: while (game_loop) { game->state->io_events(this); game->state->logic(this); game->state->rendering(); } You can easily change a game state in this approach. MVC separation works in more complex way: while (game_loop) { game->cotroller->io_events(this); game->model->logic(this); game->view->rendering(); } So changing Game States becomes error prone task (switch 3 MVC objects, not 1). What are practical ways of combining these 2 concepts?

• Can I get Raid disk status by using PS?

  I have a HP server with Raid 5. Port 0 and 1 are used for data & OS mirroring. The software come with the Raid 5 is Intel Matrix Storage Manager and there is manager console as windows based api to view all the ports, including their status. Now they are all in Normal status. I am not sure if the OS/Windows has some APIs or .Net classes to access raid ports and get their status? If so, how can I use PS to get the information? Do I have to reference to the dlls provided by the Intel Matrix Storage Manager if not? Basically, I would like to write a PS script to get read status. In case any of port disk is not normal, a message will be sent out by growl protocol.

• iPad UIColor Saturation Issues

  I am trying to draw a UIColor on the screen of a view-based app, and I am trying to do so using HSB. It is absolutely necessary for me to use HSB in this case. I can create a UIColor object with any S value from 0.0f to 0.75f, but past that the numerical changes have no effect on the actual saturation displayed. I need it to be 1.0f, but it is still using 0.75f. Any ideas on why it is doing that, and how I can make it work?

Currently, the format looks like this: {{ value|filesizeformat }} I understand I need to define this in my view.py file but, I can't seem to figure out how to do that. I've tried to use the syntax below: def filesizeformat(bytes): """ Formats the value like a 'human-readable' file size (i.e. 13 KB, 4.1 MB, 102 bytes, etc). For some reason, everything is working in the simulator, but on a device, the [recorder record] method is returning NO. The only theory I have is that something in the recordSettings isn't compatible with an actual device. Any ideas?

I would like to know if Code Igniter 1.7.2 has some way that i can assign a Global Pseudo variable (like the pseudo variables from the Benchmarking Class). The pseudo variables i want, would have simple data mostly returned from the $config array in the config.php file. If some could help me with that. Regards.

• Sharepoint - Navigation.QuickLaunch has missing items

  The following code generates an ASCII art tree view of a sharepoint site structure based on the items in the quick launch menu. But some are missing. From googling i've found suggestions that this may be because QuickLaunch only contains items that have been customised. Any idea how to fix this? I want to use the QuickLaunch items as many of the sites have subsites and pages that need to be displayed in a specific order. • UISearch bar case sensitive off ? ? ?

  hi all, in a table view i have set a UISearchBar set the delegate and add the protocol. When user tap a word everything is ok exept that the search of "tennis" and "Tennis" is not the same. • Compilation of latex file

  Hi, I am compiling a latex file on a server and download from there the generated dvi, ps and pdf files to view them. The latex file by \includegraphics includes some figure files which are not on my local machine. I found that dvi file generated by latex command does not show the figures after dowloaded to my local, but ps file generated by dvips -Ppdf have the figures, and pdf file generated by either ps2pdf or pdflatex seem not have the figures again. Is it because the figures are not actually embeded as part of the dvi and pdf files by those compilation commands? How to actually embed figures so we can only export the document files to other machines? are the case for tables in separated tex files included into main tex file by /input and the case for style files included by \usepackage similar to the above case for figure files included by \includegraphics ? • Flash AS3: crop TextField content off at X lines, add '...' at the end

  There's only room for three lines of text in the interface, but the content is external and variable, and if it ends up taking up more than three lines, there needs to be some sort of 'view all' button functionality. I can kind of think about what that function needs to look like, but I'm not quite sure what the best way to do it in AS3 would be. Something like (in pseudo code): function cropText(source:TextField, length:int, append:String):TextField{ if(source.lineCount > length){ source.text = // magic function that retuns the first length lines, // minus append.length characters, with the append value tacked onto the end } return source; } ... right? How would you fill in the missing bit?
