• mysql backup and restore from ib_logfile failure

  Here's the case: After computer being hacked, we are in a rush to backup all data out to other computer. As a result, the mysql databases are not backup out as sql statement. What we have done is backup out all the physical files/folders in the C drive to new computer. Eg: C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 4.1\data In this case, all data for mysql are inside unreadable file. Inside data folder consist of files like ib_logfile0, ib_logfile1, but not ib_data1 All database's table structure format are inside each respective folder. (Some folder have .frm, .opt) (some other folder have .frm, .myd, .myi) How can I retrieve back the data from the database in a new computer? I tried to install the same mysql version(4.1) at new computer, then replace all backup files inside data folder into this mysql in new computer. Then restart mysql service. When I restart, it fail: Could not start mysql service on local computer. error 1067: process terminated unexpectedly. • jQuery AutoComplete Plugin not working for JSON Response (sValue.substring is not a function)

  I'm trying to use the autocomplete plugin for jQuery (this one http://docs.jquery.com/Plugins/Autocomplete). • Property being immediately reset by ApplicationSetting Property Binding

  I have a .net 2.0 windows application written in c#, which currently uses several project settings to store user configurations. The forms in the application are made up of lots of user controls, each of which have properties that need to be set to these project settings. Right now these settings are manually assigned to the user control properties. I was hoping to simplify the code by replacing the manual implementation with ApplicationSettings Property Bindings. However, my first property is not behaving properly at all. The setting is an integer, used to record a port number typed into a text box. The setting is bound to an integer property on a user control, and that property sets the Text property on a TextBox control. When I type a new value into the textbox at runtime, as soon as the textbox loses focus, it is immediately replaced by the original value. A breakpoint on the property shows that it is immediately setting the property to the setting from the properties collection after I set it. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong? • Flex: How to refresh/repaint a chart?

  I have a chart for which the data is provided asynchronously via a CallResponder (used with a RemoteObject). However, it does not seem possible to update the chart with the data after it has been initially drawn. I have tried: Firing a collection modified event after assigning it to chart.dataProvider calling invalidateDisplayList (tried with all components) binding the chart data provider to a variable, and doing the above. changing the view state on the last line of resultHandler. None of them worked. When I fetch the data and cache it locally, then use it to call init synchronously, the chart displays correctly. What am I missing here?

• Parsing a file in C

  I need parse through a file and do some processing into it. The file is a text file and the data is a variable length data of the form "PP1004181350D001002003..........". So there will be timestamps if there is PP so 1004181350 is 2010-04-08 13:50. The ones where there are D are the data points that are three separate data each three digits long, so D001002003 has three coordonates of 001, 002 and 003. Now I need to parse this data from a file for which I need to store each timestamp into a array and the corresponding datas into arrays that has as many rows as the number of data and three rows for each co-ordinate. The end array might be like TimeStamp[1] = "135000", low[1] = "001", medium[1] = "002", high[1] = "003" TimeStamp[2] = "135015", low[2] = "010", medium[2] = "012", high[2] = "013" TimeStamp[3] = "135030", low[3] = "051", medium[3] = "052", high[3] = "043" .... The question is how do I go about doing this in C? How do I go through this string looking for these patterns? Note: Here the seconds value in timestamp is added on our own as it is known at each data comes after 15 seconds.

• Internationalized strings in Eclipse plugin.xml file are not found when installed in Eclipse applica

  Hi, I have created 2 plugins, implementing an ODA driver plugin and its UI plugin for the BIRT extension to Eclipse. My plugins both work as expected when eclipse starts up another eclipse application where I can then test the plugins I am developing. However, when I install my plugins into an Eclipse application and then start it from a Windows shortcut, the plugins work but and language keys specified in the plugin.xml files are not found. For example, in my plugin.xml file for the ODA Driver plugin I set the attributes 'id' to '%oda.data.source.id' and the data source 'defaultDisplayName' to '%data.source.name'. I then, in a file 'language.properties', have defined the values for both of these keys (where the keys don't have the preceeding % character). When running the plugins that have been installed into the dropins/plugins directory of an Eclipse application, the wizard for creating my ODA data source names is as '%data.source.name' and saves the data source in the rptdesign (XML) file with an ID of '%oda.data.source.id'. Since 'language' is not the default name for the properties file I went into the manifest for both plugins and changed the 'Bundle-Localization' attribute to 'language'. The language file is located in the root directory of both of my plugins. The properties file is definitely found, since I use the two language files to store other strings used by the plugins, looked up using a java ResourceBundle. The strings are always found whether the plugins are run from Eclipse application loading another, or when properly installed in the dropins/plugins directory of an Eclipse application. Why are the installed plugins not finding language keys reference in the plugin.xml files? There are not errors in the logs and the language.properties files are clearly accessible...   I have just over 1500 html pages (1.html to 1500.html). I have written a code using Beautiful Soup that extracts most of the data I need but "misses" out some of the data within the table. For some reason my code does not pull out all the required data but "misses" some data, e.g the Address1 and Address 2 data at the start of the table do not come out. I modified the code to put in * and === separators, I then use perl to put into a clean csv file, unfortunately I'm not sure how to work my code to get all the data I'm looking for!

• Multiple sendto() using UDP socket

  Hi, I have a network software which uses UDP to communicate with other instances of the same program. For different reasons, I must use UDP here. I recently had problems sending huge ammounts of data over UDP and had to implement a fragmentation system to split my messages into small data chunks. So far, it worked well but I now encounter an issue when I have to send a lot of data chunks. I have the following algorithm: Split message into small data chunks (around 1500 bytes) Iterate over the data chunks list and for each, send it using sendto() However, when I send a lot of data chunks, the receiver only gets the first 6 messages. Sometimes it misses the sixth and receives the seventh. It depends. Anyway, sendto() always indicates success. This always happen when I test my software over a loopback interface (127.0.0.1) but never over my LAN network. If I add something like std::cout << "test" << std::endl; between the sendto() then every frame is received. I am aware that UDP allows packet loss and that my frames might be loss for a lot of reasons and I suppose it has to do with the rate I am sending the data chunks at. What would be the right approach here ? Implementing some acknowledgement mechanism (just like TCP) seems overkill. Adding some arbitrary waiting time between the sendto() is ugly and will probably decrease performance. Increasing (if possible) the receiver UDP internal buffer ? I don't even know if this is possible. Something else ? I really need your advices here. Thank very much.

• Replacing XML reserved characters in SQL Server 2005

  I'm working on a system that takes relational data from a sql server DB and uses SSIS to produce an XML extract using sql server 2005's 'FOR XML PATH' command and a schema. The problem lies with replacing the XML reserved characters. 'FOR XML PATH' is only replacing <, , and &, not ' and ", so I need a way of replacing these myself. I've tried pre-processing the fields in the database to replace XML reserved characters with their entitised equivalents (e.g. & becomes &amp;), but once these fields are used to construct XML using FOR XML the leading & is replaced with &amp;, so I end up with &amp;amp; where I should have &amp;. What I've tried so far is altering the element's contents after the XML has been constructed using XQuery inside SQL server like so: DECLARE @data VARCHAR(MAX) SET @data = CONVERT(VARCHAR(MAX), [my xml column].query(' data(/root/node_i_want)') SELECT @data = [function to replace quotes etc](@data) SET [my xml column].modify('replace value of (/root/node_i_want)[1] with sql:variable("@data")') but I get the same problem. Essentially, is there something wrong I'm doing with the above, or a way to tell FOR XML to entitise other characters, or something like that? Basically anything short of having to write a program to change the XML after it has been assembled in large batches and saved to files!

What am I doing wrong... What I want to achieve :I want the windows Logged On User so I can build a FormsAuthentication ticket and pass it to a Passive STS. So in IIS I have anonymous and windows...If have only windows ticked, I cannot go onto the Login.aspx page as I have an extra parameter to be passed from there. So now in webconfig, I then disable anonymous users by saying deny user="?" , so it leaves me with the authenticated windows user but using Forms Authentication.You know what I mean??

  I am trying to login to a website and grab content from a page you must be authenticated to see. I have done some research and have seen some examples using both cURL and stream_context_create but I cannot get either way to work. I have the url for the page to login to, and the page that contains the data I need to get. Your help is much appreciated! • uitableview reloadData issue

  I've been debugging my iphone app and found something interesting. I have a UIViewControllers with TabBarcontroller( 6 tabs). each tab is a UIViewController and it has a UITtableview. The viewDidLoad works and brings the initial data. On of the UITableView has a search bar. After the user touchs presses search some magic happens and I get an array with data. I cant see the new data in the tableview and the [tableView reloadData] has no effect outside viewDidLoad (first time). I can see the array holding the data and the dataSource is set to self. Yet, no displaying of data! so I 've tried [self.tableView reloadData] & [self.tableView setNeedsDisplay] Funny enough, the new data is not being displayed. However if I move the table up or down the cellForRowAtIndexPath is being fired and the first row shows data. can anyone shed some light on this mystery??? if there a [self.view refreshscreen] ??

• Storing PLSQL stored-procedure values in Oracle memory caches for extended periods

  I am collecting runtime profiling data from PLSQL stored procedures. The data is collected as certain stored procedures execute, but it needs to accumululate across multiple executions of those procedures. To minimize overhead, I'd like to store that profiling data in some PLSQL-accessable Oracle memory-resident storage somewhere for the duration of the data collection interval, and then dump out the accumulated values. The data collection interval might be seconds or hours; its ok not to store this data across system boots. Something like session state in web servers would do. What are my choices for storing such data? The only method I know about are contexts in dbms_sessions: procedure set_ctx (value in varchar8) as begin dbms_session.set_context ( 'Test_Ctx', 'AccumulatedValue', value, NULL, 'ProfilerSessionId' ); end set_ctx; This works, but takes some 50 milliseconds(!) per update to the accumulated value. What I'm hoping for is a way to access/store an array of values in some Oracle memory using vanilla PLSQL statements, with access times typical of array accesses made to package-local arrays.

• jQuery Autocomplete Json Ajax cross browser issue with Google Search Appliance

  I am implementing a jquery autocomplete on a search form and am getting the suggestions from the Google Search Appliance Autocomple suggestions service which returns a result set in json. What I am trying to do is go off to the GSA to get suggestions when the user types something in the search box. The url to get the json suggestions is as follows: http://gsaurl/suggest?q=<query>&max=10&site=default_site&client=default_frontend&access=p&format=rich The json which is returned is as follows: { "query":"re", "results": [ {"name":"red", "type":"suggest"}, {"name":"read", "type":"suggest"}] } The jQuery autocomplete code is as follows: $(#q).autocomplete(searchUrl, { width: 320, dataType: 'json', highlight: false, scroll: true, scrollHeight: 300, parse: function(data) { var array = new Array(); for(var i=0;i<data.results.length;i++) { array[i] = { data: data.results[i], value: data.results[i].name, result: data.results[i].name }; } return array; }, formatItem: function(row) { return row.name; } }); This works in IE but fails in firefox as the data returned in the parse function is null. Any ideas why this would be the case? Workaround I created an aspx page to call the GSA suggest service and to return the json from the suggest service. Using this page as a proxy and setting it as the url in the jQuery autocomplete worked in both IE and FireFox.

• How to implement two way binding between an ActiveX control and a WPF MVVM View Model

  I have a WPF application implemented using the MVVM framework that uses an ActiveX control and I need to keep the WPF and ActiveX UI synchronised. So far I can update the ActiveX UI when I change the WPF UI using the code at the bottom of the question that I got from the article Hosting an ActiveX Control in WPF and this question. But I cannot update the WPF UI when I make a change in the ActiveX UI. I suspect that I need to fire the PropertyChanged event from my ActiveX control but I have no idea how to do this or if it is even possible. The ActiveX controls I have written are in VB6 and MFC as I am just prototying at this time for the eventual integration of VB6 ActiveX controls in a WPF contaner application. • Kohana 3 jQuery/AJAX request not working

  I am trying to post some data to a controller in Kohana 3 using the jQuery AJAX method. I seem to have an issue with the data not getting to where I want it to be. I want the data to go to the /application/classes/controller/stock.php file where the file will process the data. I can't seem to figure this one out. Hopefully someone can help. My jQuery ajax call is: $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'add_stock', data: { 'links': 'link_array' } }); 'add_stock' is the name of the action within the controller. I didn't know what else to try. I've also tried '.' and './' hoping that would be right but it's not. In Firebug, although it says the request was 200 OK, I see that the "RESPONSE" is "Failed to load source for: http://localhost/ddm/v2/stocks/add_stock" and my script in my controller which grabs the data isn't working. Here is that code in case it helps: $links = $_POST['links']; $link_obj = Jelly::factory('link') ->set('stock', $stock->id) ->set('links', $links); $link_obj->save(); I think that the problem is that I'm giving the ajax call the ROUTE and not the actual page it needs to deliver the POST data to. I just can't figure it out here. Any help?
