• Changing size of content in HorizontalScrollView when phone is rotated by overriding onConfiguration

  Hello I have a problem with resizing content in a HorizontalScrollView when the phone is rotated. I'm overriding onConfigurationChanged in my activity containing the HorizontalScrollView, since I want to handle the resizing myself. However, I'm having great problem finding where i should put the resizing of the content. The HorizontalScrollView it self has FILL_PARENT as width and a fixed height. The idea is that it should always fill the screen width-wise, while having several cells of content, each as wide as the HorizontalScrollView itself. The content in my HorizontalScrollView consists of one LinearLayout (let's call it wrapperLayout) with several LinearLayouts inside it. When the phone rotates I simply want to change the width of all the LinearLayouts inside the wrapperLayout. This is easy to do and works great when I test the resizing code by putting it in onInterceptTouchEvent(MotionEvent ev), that is the views are resized just as they are supposed to when I touch the HorizontalScrollView. The difficulty appears when I try to find a good spot to execute resizing code, so that the resizing happens automatically when the phone is rotated. I have tried all possible combinations of requestLayout, onSizeChanged, onLayout, onConfigurationChanged and a few others and varying their calls to super (if any) before and after the resizing code. I can not make this work (the views are not resized even though the resize code is executed) and it is really frustrating. I've done a lot of logging to make sure the HorizonalScrollView really has changed width before calling my resize code but to no avail. Does anyone have any clue as to what is going on? What methods are called and in what order when I handle the onConfigurationChanged by myself like this? Thanks in advance

  Hi, If I have a method which establishes a database connection, how could this method be tested? Returning a bool in the event of a successful connection is one way, but is that the best way? From a testability method, is it best to have the connection method as one method and the method to get data back a seperate method? Also, how would I test methods which get back data from a database? I may do an assert against expected data but the actual data can change and still be the right resultset. EDIT: For the last point, to check data, if it's supposed to be a list of cars, then I can check they are real car models. Or if they are a bunch of web servers, I can have a list of existant web servers on the system, return that from the code under test, and get the test result. If the results are different, the data is the issue but the query not? THnaks

• Axis over SSL and authentication with a PKCS#12 keystore

  I have PKCS#12 keystore that I've sucessfully imported in my browser for accessing a server that needs 2-way SSL authentication. Works perfectly reaching any https URL there. However, I'm unable to access an URL in the same server, and from the same host when using Axis 1.4. The given Axis faultString is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target My javax.net.ssl.{keyStore,keyStorePassword,keyStoreType} properties seem to be set up fine. How can I solve this?

  I'm using JSF 2.0 and want to fill a selectOneMenu with the values of my Enum. In Seam, to use the values of the Enum, i had to write the following markup (and create a factory that provides the #{genderValues}: <!-- the Seam way --> <h:selectOneMenu id="persongender" value="#{person.gender}"> <s:selectItems var="_gender" value="#{genderValues}"" label="#{_gender.label}"/> <s:convertEnum/> </h:selectOneMenu> The result is that i don't have to declare the Enum values explicitely anymore inside the markup. I know that this is not very easy in JSF <2.0, but is there any new in JSF2 to help with this issue? Or does Weld help here somehow? If there is nothing new in JSF2, what's the easiest way to do it in JSF 1.2? Or can i even integrate the Seam JSF tag and the corresponding classes of Seam to get the same feature in a JavaEE6-App (without the Seam container)?

• Posting a JSON array to webservice in Android

  I am having some problems with what should be a rather simple task. I simply need a JSON array with a single JSON object within it to be posted to my webservice. The entire URL request needs to be formatted like this: http://www.myserver.com/myservice.php?location_data=[{"key1":"val1","key2":"val2"....}] I cannot for the life of me figure out how to append the 'location_data' bit using HttpPost.   Is there a way I can figure out the time the current request reached the app engine? For example a user might make a request to my app, but due to app engine latencies my code might not start handling the request until one second later, is there a way I can figure out that the user has already had to wait one second? The reason I want to know how to do this is because I want to do different things based on if the user already had to wait. If the user already had to wait a significant amount of time I will just serve them a page out of the cache, if the user hasn't had to wait yet then I will serve them a page which takes a while to render.

• Jboss logging issue

  Our application is deployed on JBoss As 4.0x and we face some issues with JBoss logging. Whenever the server is restarted, JBoss stops logging, and there is no update in server.log. After that it is not updating the log file. Then we do touch cmd on log4j.xml, so that it creates the log files again. Please help me in fixing the issue we cant do touch everytime. We face this issue in both the nodes. I could not figure where the problem is? If any other issues, we can check the log files. If log itself is not getting updated/logged, how can we move further in analyzing the issues without the recent/updated logs? • NetBeans generates JpaController with errors

  Hi, I am using NetBeans 6.8 for building Spring MVC application. Techonologies : Spring MVC 2.5 Derby DB Hibernate for ORM GlassFish v3 server I use New JPA Controller Classes from Entity Classes for adding ORM file. It is supposed to generate class for managing queries with my POJO files. • Running each JUnit test in a separate JVM in Eclipse?

  I have a project with nearly 500 individual tests in around 200 test classes. Some of these tests don't do a great job of tearing down their own state after they're finished, and in Eclipse this results in some tests failing. The tests all pass when running the test suite from the command line via Ant. Can I enable 'test isolation' somehow in Eclipse? I don't mind if it takes longer to run. Long term, I will clean up the misbehaving tests, but in the short term I'd like to get the tests working.

I want to be able to show graphical markers (images) for each of these points as well as the red line. • Button layed out using layout_toLeftOf in a RelativeLayout does not show up

I get the following result: As you see, the button doesn't show up. It works if I use layout_toRightOf, then the button appears to the right of the TextView, just as expected. Any ideas what I am doing wrong here?

Now, the problem is that when I set paint style to be FILL or FILL_AND_STROKE nothing shows up on the screen, but when I set it to be just stroke, and set stroke width, it acctually draws what it is supposed to draw. Now, I looked for solution, but nothing comes up. Can you tell me if I something missed to set in the code itself, or are there some sorts of constraints when drawing on Overlay canvases? Thanks
