  • How to fix flicker when using Webkit transforms & transitions

    I have a very simple demo working that uses Webkit transforms and transitions for smooth horizontal scrolling between 'panels' (divs). The reason I want to go this route as opposed to a Javascript driven system is that it's for the iPad and Javascript performance is quite poor, but the css transforms and transitions are smooth as silk. Sadly though, I'm getting a lot of flicker on the iPad with my Demo. You can see the demo here You'll need safari or and iPad to see it in action. I've never seen this happening in any of the demos for transforms and transitions so I'm hopeful that this is fixable. Anyway here's the code that powers the thing....   • Cannot use WCF service from windows mobile 5: no endpoint found.

    Hi All, I'm trying to figure out how to call a WCF service from a windows smart phone. I have a very simple smartphone console app, which does nothing but launch and make 1 call to the service. The service simply returns a string. I am able to instantiate the proxy class but when i call the method it throws an exception: There was no endpoint listening at http://mypcname/Service1.svc/basic that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details. The inner exception: Could not establish connection to network. I've tried to follow this tutorial on setting up services with windows mobile. I've used the NetCFSvcUtil to create the proxy classes. I have the service running on IIS on my machine and had the Util consume the wsdl from that location. I've created a basic http binding as suggested in the article and i think i've pointed the proxy at the correct uri. Here some sections of relevant code in case it's helpful to see. If anyone has any suggestions, i'd really appreciate it. I'm not sure what else i can poke at to get this thing to work. Thanks!   • ldapsearch password file format

    How am I supposed to pass a password to ldapsearch using the -y <password file> option? If I write the password in the password file in plain text, I get this error: ldap_bind: Invalid credentials (49) additional info: 80090308: LdapErr: DSID-0C0903AA, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 52e, v1772 The same happens if I use the -w <password> option. Am I missing something?

    I installed the dropbox using the text based install method described here. However I'd now like dropbox to start automatically when the machine starts up, and start syncing the files. I'll need dropbox to run as the dropbox user, from the dropbox users home directory. I think the following command will launch dropbox as the dropbox user, in the dropbox users home directory, would you correct me if this doesn't work?   • Problem virtualizing Ubuntu 10.04 32 bit on VirtualBox 3.1 on Windows Vista 64 bit

    Software & Hardware Setup Host System : Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64 bit Guest : Ubuntu 10.04 (ubuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.iso) 32 bit VM : VirtualBox 3.1.8 Hardware : Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 4GB SDRAM What Happened I followed the tutorial called Installing Ubuntu inside Windows using VirtualBox located here: www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/virtualbox At first I downloaded ubuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64.iso because I figured that it would be a perfect fit with my Vista 64 OS. I was wrong because it turns out the my Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 CPU does not have Intel® Virtualization Technology. So I had to go with the ubuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.iso which is 32 bit. This got me to the point where I could actually create the Ubuntu VM. So I set up the VM in VirtualBox (according to the tutorial I was following) to prepare for the Ubuntu 10.04 virtualization. The last 8 show my attempt at virtualizing Ubuntu 10.04. You can see booting up but ultimately failing. The Specifics The one error message I got was: (process:210): GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id (0) It appeared on a black screen that sort of looked like a Windows console screen but with out the c:\ or the ability to type. Then this error message got more complex when tons of text appeared in the screen. Pictures 23 - 25 in the album show this text. I should also mention that I found this post in the Ubuntu forums by zonination who seemed to have similar problems to mine even though they had a different set up. The main issue I think zonination and me may be having is the fact that we can not change the color mode to 32 bit while it is booting. I think the 16 bit color mode maybe making Ubuntu fail. Not certain though. Well I hope I explained my problem thoroughly and clearly. Thanks for the tutorial. It got me started but, now I hope to finish this process so I can start developing in Ubuntu. If the feed site is inaccessible to any computer I am at as long as the reader site is available I can see the feed. Each one links to a stylesheet "empathy-log.xsl": <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="empathy-log.xsl"?> I've trawled my hard drive and the web but cannot find it (there is a empathy-log-manager.xsl but this is different). Does it even exist? If there is no such file I'll create my own but I'd rather use the one provided.

    I'm using Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista and 7 for cross realm authentication using MIT Kerberos 1.6 but when i try to login with a user the KDC answers: (wireshark output) error_code: KRB5KDC_ERR_ETYPE_NOSUPP (14) ... e-text: BAD_ENCRYPTION_TYPE I want to know how can I change the encryption type method to be compatible with the KDC (i tried a XP client and it worked fine).     Hi. While improving my (personal) backup system, I noticed, that I cannot copy certain locked files, like the windows registry files. Is there a way to copy such things? Or a specific solution for the registry (I know of the regedit-File-Export ,,solution'' but this is to text format and seems slow). AFAIK, On Linux the locking system is advisory and on Windows it is mandatory. Can I somehow bypass the mandatory-ness for backup purposes etc.? TIA.

  • Indesign Import XML into Automatic Page generation, data merge

    I've created some InDesign Pages that I want to use as templates. I've created an XML file with all the appropriate data. I want to merge the XML data with the InDesign page and have a few hundred pages automatically generated. I've been reading online and working with InDesign's "Import XML" features without any luck. The documentation has been pretty poor for me. And Google searches haven't returned much fruitful. Here are my present steps: I create a Master Page of my template I add a bunch of text frames where I want the imported data from the XML file to be places I open the "Tags" window and Import and XML file I mark my text frames in the Master Document with the appropriate tags I then add a lot of pages (like 200) to the document Then I use "Import XML" to try and get the data brought in and filled across all 200 pages. This is where I fail. There's something I'm missing. It might be that InDesign doesn't work as I'm expecting... Does anyone have any good tips for mail-merge like functionality with an XML document and auto-generation of InDesign pages? By the way, here's an example of Adobe's great documentation for merging repeated XML elements. There's got to be more...     I'm trying to make a custom Ubuntu Server iso file. Kickstart file (ks.cfg) runs smooth when there is no %post in the file and Ubuntu installs correctly with ks configuration. Installation finishes installing base, apt, grub and It echos: Kickseed Running... and it freezes @ 0% I thought may be apt-get update doesnt work in ks file, I tried to install other apps like apache2 but no luck I have created dozen iso images and installed them in Virtual Box.I have been googling for 3 days and checked out ubuntu forums but haven't figured out the issue.
