  • JUnit test failing - complaining of missing data that was just inserted

    I have an extremely odd problem in my JUnit tests that I just can't seem to nail down. I have a multi-module java webapp project with a fairly standard structure (DAO's, service clasess, etc...). Within this project I have a 'core' project which contains some abstracted setup code which inserts a test user along with the necessary items for a user (in this case an 'enterprise', so a user must belong to an enterprise and this is enforced at the database level) Fairly simple so far... but here is where the strangeness begins some tests fail to run and throw a database exception where it complains that a user cannot be inserted because an enterprise does not exist. But it just created the enterprise in the preceding line of code! And there was no errors in the insertion of the enterprise. Stranger yet, if this test class is run by itself everything works fine. It is only when the test is run as part of the project that it fails! And the exact same abstracted code was run by 10+ tests before the one that fails! f I have been banging my head against a wall with this for days and haven't really made any progress. I'm not even sure what information to offer up to help diagnose this. Using JUnit 4.4, Spring 2.5.6, iBatis 2.3.0, Postgresql 8.3 Switching to org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DriverManagerDataSource from org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource changed the problem. Using DriverManagerDataSource the tests work for the first time, but now all of a sudden a lot of data isn't rolled back in the database! It leaves everything behind. All with no errors Tests fail when run via Eclipse & Maven Please ask for any info which may help me solve my problem!

    Not sure if this question belongs on SO. Anyway, please let me try to clarify the issue. I'm currently planning a social program. It's basically a chat server with the major additional ability to play games. I'd like to create categories of features that are offered to users. My question is, are there any useful standard feature categories? Does not have to be specific to my case, I'm interested in the general case as well. Just to give you an idea of what I'm thinking: functional e.g. play games social e.g. chatting operational e.g. 24/7 service availability I'm entirely unsure if this is the right place to ask, if you know of any better site to ask please don't hesitate to add a comment.

  • Missing Project Template after installing ASP.NET MVC 2

    Hi, I have downloaded the ASP.NET MVC 2 Release version (using Web Platform Installer) as well as the downloading the file directly from the link in WPI. No error messages are reported after the install. When I go into Visual Web Developer and select Create New project I only the project reference to ASP.NET MVC version 1.0 and not version 2 (for clarity I have all the other project types, this is just in reference to the MVC projects). I have restarted, uninstalled and restarted and installed my PC multiple times and it still won't play. When clicking add a reference I can see the MVC.dll version 2.0.0.0 and add that no problem, but cannot manually upgrade the project since the ProjectTypeGuid used is not recognized. For reference I am using Visual Web Developer 2008 on Windows XP. ASP.NET MVC version 1.0 is working fine and without issue. Hope someone else can help. DNH

  • Android source referencing missing classes

    I cloned some of the trees from the Android Open Source Project to take a look at the code, but I can't build them because they reference classes which don't seem to exist. For instance, the music application here references android.media.MediaFile which according to the package summary does not exist, as well as things like ArrayListCursor which has an old javadoc around but is absent in current documentation. So is the open source project disjoint from the released SDK? Also, is there a way to build these open source packages with the current SDK? Thanks, -JQP

  • Visual Studio 2008 profiler analysis - missing time

    I ran the Visual Studio 2008 profiler against my ASP.NET application and came up with the following result set. CURRENT FUNCTION TIME (msec) ---------------------------------------------------|-------------- Data.GetItem(params) | 10,158.12 ---------------------------------------------------|-------------- Functions that were called by Data.GetItem(params) TIME (msec) ---------------------------------------------------|-------------- Model.GetSubItem(params) | 0.83 Model.GetSubItem2(params) | 0.77 Model.GetSubItem3(params) | 0.76 etc. The issue I'm facing is that the sum of the Functions called by Data.GetItem(params) do not sum up to the 10,158.12 msec total. This would lead me to believe that the bulk of the time is actually spent executing the code within that method. My question is ... does Visual Studio provide a way to analyze the method itself so I can see which sections of code are taking the longest? if it does not are there any recommended tools to do this? or should I start writing my own timing scripts?     I want to tune object caching in my sharepoint environment. The way to do is check sharepoint publishing cache counter through perfmon on your farm. I have one application server and 2 WFE but when I am trying to create counter for my WFE its showing Sharepoint publishing cache but I am not able to add any instance of it but when I select my application server I can see all the instances. But If I want to check publishing hit ratio i need to run this on WFE also ...correct me if I m wrong? How to resolve this issue? Also, how to check the hit ratio as our site is not go-live so we don't get enuf users to hit the site to check this thing. Does it means that I can tune it up only my site go live and real load will get on it. Thanks, Amit

  • Kohana controller shows blank page if missing URI segment/argument

    When accessing http://www.nowplayingnashville.com/event2/detail/440698386/Whatever the controller shows normally. But when omitting the last parameter (event's title, which can be any string), http://www.nowplayingnashville.com/event2/detail/440698386/ It shows blank. I added a default value and tried to hardcode the title on the first line of the controller, but it doesn't work anyway. It looks like a view issue, because I can add an echo at the end of the controller and it gets printed, so the controller is executing to the end, but the views aren't displayed. This problem is present on the live site, but I checked out the code on my local machine and it works perfectly without a title. That's strange. Could it be a Kohana or Apache configuration issue?

    Hello, When I start a new Visual C# Silverlight project in the official release version (not the beta or the release candidate--the official release version) of Visual Studio 2010, I get only Silverlight 3 as an option in the Silverlight Version dropdown at the New Silverlight Application dialog box.   • Silverlight MouseMove: find missing points during a movement

My problem is that using the MouseMove event, I don't have a continuous set of points if the user moves the mouse fast enough (if I add each point in a list I can have (10,10) en then (20,20)...) I'd like to have ALL points where the mouse has been during the move. Do you have any idea ?

  • Touch event missing when pushing new view

    Hello, I am new in iPhone programming. At the moment I am trying to recognize a constant touch. For example I want the user to leave his finger on the screen for the whole application. I use a navigationcontroller which holds the different views. If the user now touches the screen in view1 and then the view is changed to view2 by pushing it on the stack (with pushviewcontroller) with still touching the screen then there are no touch events recognized by view2. If the user then releases his finger (no touch event) and touches the screen again then all events are recognized. Is this a bug or am I doing something totally wrong? I haven't found any answer on this. Could someone help me?

    I just installed a number of updates to my machine, and am now encountering the following error when I run an asp.net MVC application on my local machine: Compiler Error Message: CS0006: Metadata file 'C:\WINNT\assembly\GAC_32\System.EnterpriseServices\2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a\System.EnterpriseServices.dll' could not be found I have removed the reference to this from the project (not really sure why it was there in the first place) but still get the error. Any idea on how to resolve this?

  • Ubuntu crashed, Eclipse lost .metadata, Java Perspective gone, missing, lost

    I am running Eclipse Galileo on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. Ubuntu crashed on me today, and after rebooting, I found that Eclipse has completely lost the Java Perspective (it's like the perspective and all associated views never existed) and the .metadata dir in my workspace is empty except for version.ini. What's up with that? Why did it happen? How can I prevent it? How can I recover from it?
