  • Cannot install Java 7 update 9 32-bit on Win 7 64

    As there were several versons of Java on my laptop, I decided to uninstall them all and reinstall only the current version. I uninstalled all 64-bit and 32-bit versions using Revo Uninstaller. After dowloading the current versions, when attempting to install them, I get a message that both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions cannot be installed as they are already installed. Both the Windows 7 Programs and Features and Revo show no Java installed at al. I then tried the Microsoft Fixit for install and uninstall issues (KB 2438651). I was then able to install the 64-bit version, but continued to have the issue with the 32-bit version. I ran CCleaner, Glary Utilities and Auslogics Registry Cleaner, and noticed Java keys that were to be uninstalled. After cleaning the registry, I attemped to install the 32-bit version of Java once more, to no avail. Any suggestions on how to rectify this problem? Thank you for any guidance you can provide.

    I am trying to edit the file java.security but it opens as read only. I am running as root user but I think this is happening because the java process is currently using the file. How can I temporarily close the process and edit the file and then start java up again? I am using Fedora.

  • Implement OAuth in Java

    I made an an attempt to implement OAuth for my programming idea in Java, but I failed miserably. I don't know why, but my code doesn't work. Every time I run my program, an IOException is thrown with the reason "java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 401" (401 means Unauthorized).   • How to prevent unit test from using util from test project?

    I am using eclipse and I have two projects, project1 and project1-test. Below is the example layout of my projects: project1 -src --my.package ----MyClass.java --my.package.util ----util.java project1-test -src --my.package ----MyClassTest.java --my.package.util ----util.java MyClass.java makes a static call to the util.java in project1. MyClassTests.java is testing MyClass.java. When the test class runs, it fails and complains that MyClass.java is referencing a method in util.java that doesn't exist. Under project1, the method being referenced exists in util.java but under project1-test, the method doesn't. When I run MyClassTests.java, the util.java that is being referenced from MyClass.java is from project1-test when it should be project1. Is there some way to make MyClass.java not reference util.java from project1-test when running MyClassTest.java?

  • Is this error caused by a 64-bit library being accessed by a Java program running in a 32-bit JVM?

    I'm trying to create a simple Java app that uses JNI to call some native functions. I've followed the examples in the JNI Programming Guide and can't seem to get them to work. I have the following Hello World program, written in Java: class HelloWorld { private native void print(); public static void main(String [] args) { new HelloWorld().print(); } static { System.load("/home/mike/Desktop/libHelloWorld.so"); } } I compile it using javac HelloWorld.java, just like normal. Then I run javah -jni HelloWorld, and finally the following: gcc34 -shared -fpic -o libHelloWorld.so -I/<path to JDK>/include -I/<path to JDK>/include/linux HelloWorld.c gcc34 is the name of the GCC program on my machine here at work (I don't control that) and I obviously place the real path to the JDK in that command. When I run my program, using the standard java HelloWorld, I get an error saying the following: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /home/mike/Desktop/libHelloWorld.so: /home/mike/Desktop/libHelloWorld.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 (Possible causes: architecture word width mismatch) at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(ClassLoader.java:1778) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1674) at java.lang.Runtime.load0(Runtime.java:770) at java.lang.System.load(System.java:1003) at HelloWorld.<clinit>(HelloWorld.java:8) Could not find the main class: HelloWorld. Program will exit. I know I'm running a 32-bit JVM (and unfortunately, as of right now, I'm not allowed to get a 64-bit JVM). I tried telling GCC to compile in 32-bit mode using the "-m32" option, but we don't have (and again, can't get) what we need for that. Does this sound like a 32/64-bit conflict or something else?

    I am trying to configure web service proxying using Mule ESB. I am attempting to do this using Mule's WSProxyService, but after stepping through the corresponding code (with the debugger), it is clear that this class replaces endpoint addresses. The problem is Spring-WS WSDL addresses are of the style http://xxxx/xxxx.wsdl, but WSProxyService expects http://xxxx/xxxx?wsdl or http://xxxx/xxxx&wsdl. It replaces the remote endpoint addresses with the local WSDL address; it cuts the remote WSDL address at the question mark i.e. '?WSDL' is intended to be chopped off, so to create the search term. But because of Spring-WS, this does not work. To break it down: WSProxyService ends up trying to use http://xxxx/xxxx.wsdl to replace http://xxxx/xxxx with http://yyyy/yyyy which fails... leading to actual web service call going direct and not through the proxy. Has anyone ever noticed/solved this problem?? Cheers, Darren

    I want to upgrade my jaxws to 2.2 (jdk1.6 comes bundled with jaxws 2.1). My jdk is (I did not install public jre): java version "1.6.0_20" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 16.3-b01, mixed mode) In jaxws' own doc they explain how to do it: One way to fix this is to copy jaxws-api.jar and jaxb-api.jar into JRE endorsed directory, which is $JAVA_HOME/lib/endorsed (or $JDK_HOME/jre/lib/endorsed) But I am not sure this is having any effect in my installation. For starters I have only defined %JAVA_HOME%. And folder $JAVA_HOME/lib/endorsed is inexistant, so I created and copied the two jars. But if I do (wsgen is a tool from jaxws) wsgen -version I still get: JAX-WS RI 2.1.6 in JDK 6 I also tried creating folder JAVA_HOME\jre\lib\endorsed (notice that in the doc they say JDK_HOME, but as I only have JAVA_HOME I used this path). Still same wsgen output. My questions are: What is the difference between JAVA_HOME and JDK_HOME in the doc page? anything significant or just two ways to refer to JAVA_HOME ? Is 'wsgen -version' a valid way to check jaxws version that is used or this always calls the exe in the original jdk, but it does not mean endorsed jars will be used?     I have webservices deployed on two containers in two separate servers A and B. A webMethod in 'Server A' needs to invoke a webmethod in 'Server B'. I have created a client stub for Sever B. Im trying to make 'Server A' use this client stub and talk to Server B. I get an exception while trying to instantiate the port object specifically at : service.getABCBeanPort(); (using JAX-WS library) Is my approach correct? Is there any better way of invoking a webservice on a remote server?
