    I have the following class public class MyClass<T> { public Class<T> getDomainClass() { GET THE CLASS OF T } } I've googled this problem and all the answers I could find told me to use getGenericSuperClass(), but the problem of this method is that I must have a second class that extends MyClass and I don't want to do this. What I need is to get the parametrized type of a concrete class?

  • How to discover getters and setters on hibernate objects

    I need to find a way of taking a hibernate object and discovering at runtime all of the getter methods that relate to persistable fields. I'm using annotations in the classes but have previously had difficulties working with them (I ran into a 2 year old bug the java developers still haven't fixed). Does anyone know how I can do this please, ideally without using annotations? Thanks. PS - What I'm trying to do here is to update a new object with values from an existing object dynamically.

    I can do an eval("something()"); to execute the code dynamically in JavaScript. Is there a way for me to do the same thing in C#? What I am exactly trying to do is that I have an integer variable (say i) and I have multiple properties by the names: "Property1","Property2","Property3" etc. Now, I want to perform some operations on the " Propertyi " property depending on the value of i. This is really simple with Javascript. Is there any way to do this with C#? Edit: Oh, and I am using C# 2.0

How can i solve this issue? I hope i could explain my problem clear.

    Given the class': public abstract class AbstractEntity { public virtual Guid Id { get; private set; } } public class Entity { public virtual Guid Id { get; private set; } } And a PropertyInfo for the property 'Id'. When calling the method: PropertyInfo.GetAccessors() It returns both the get-method and the set-method when the class is not abstract (Entity), but only the get-method when the class is abstract (AbstractEntity). Why is this? And is there another way to get the set-method from a property with a private set?

  • How to tell Reflectively if an Attribute has a public Setter

    Im saving an object model out to XML but when i load it back in I get exceptions when trying to use PropertyInfo.SetValue() because the property doesn't have a setter just a getter. I want to either not save out the properties that only have getters or figure out on load whether its valid for me to try and set a value or not. Anybody know how to do this Cheers

    Disclaimers: I am not interested in doing this in any real production code. I make no claim that there's a good reason why I'm interested in doing this. I realize that if this is in any way possible, it must involve doing some highly inadvisable things. That said... is this possible? I'm really just curious to know. In other words, if I have something like this: int i = GetSomeInteger(); Is there any way from within GetSomeInteger that the code could be "aware of" the fact that it's being called in an assignment to the variable i? Again: no interest in doing this in any sort of real scenario. Just curious!

It doesn't know class (So I can't use casting) but just needs to call some methods of that class (every class should have that methods). I thought about interfaces but I don't know how.   • MS DOS function like ipconfig to get system performance specs?

    I am aware of MSINFO32, but I'm wondering if there is a MS DOS command similar to ipconfig in order to get system specifications? I would like for the system specifications to be displayed in the MS DOS prompt. I would like to see at least: CPU RAM BUS speed Thanks for any insights.     i have a separate class for each of my database entities and when i create an object of my class to reference the properties of a class it returns a circular reference which contains properties of other entities too that are related via FK ... to remove the circular reference i want to first make a copy of the object through "context proxy object" copy and then get the primitive, complex, arrayEnumerable types of that object and strip off these types from the object and then the object get returned by web service....

  • Why is Attributes.IsDefined() missing overloads?

    Inspired by an SO question. The Attribute class has several overloads for the IsDefined() method. Covered are attributes applied to Assembly, Module, MemberInfo, ParameterInfo. The MemberInfo overload covers PropertyInfo, FieldInfo, EventInfo, MethodInfo, ConstructorInfo. That takes care of most of the AttributeTargets. Except for one biggy: there is no overload for Attribute.IsDefined(Type, Type) so that you could check if an attribute is defined on a class. Or a struct, delegate or enum for that matter. Not that this is a real problem, Type.GetCustomAttributes() can fix that. But all of the BlahInfo types have this too. I wonder at the lack of symmetry. I can't put a finger on why this would be problem for Type. Guessing at an inheritance problem doesn't explain it to me. Having ValueType in the mix might be a lead, still doesn't make sense. I don't buy "they forgot", they never do. Why is this overload missing?
