  • Use SendMessage in C# to perform a CTRL-C operation on a given handle

    Hello everyone, I'm trying to perform a (CTRL-C) copy on a window. I've already managed to do this using SendInput but unfortunately that could fail if the window doesn't have focus. I'm trying to perform the same (CTRL-C) operation using SendMessage in C#. So far I haven't been successful in getting the WPARAM and LPARAM combination for this to work. I have also tried using SendMessage with the WM_COPY message but that didn't work for my needs. Please if anyone has done this before successfully using SendMessage I would greatly appreciate your help.

    I would expect that the following code would just initialise the dict_a, dict_b and dict_c dictionaries. But it seams to have a copt through effect: dict_a = dict_b = dict_c = {} dict_c['hello'] = 'goodbye' print dict_a print dict_b print dict_c As you can see the result is as follows: {'hello': 'goodbye'} {'hello': 'goodbye'} {'hello': 'goodbye'} Why does that program give the previous result, When I would expect it to return: {} {} {'hello': 'goodbye'}

  • How can I download all files of a specific type from a website using PHP?

    I want to get all midi (*.mid) files from a site that's set up pretty simple in terms of directory tree structure. I wish we had wget installed here, but that's another party.... The site is VGMusic.com and the path containing all of the midi files is: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/ I tried glob'ing it out, but I suppose that glob only works locally?     I have a class "Artikel" and there i write some Business Logic. I also have a class "tArtikel" which is a type. In my class "Artikel" I work with "tArtikel" and returns are of that type. Now when i instantiate an "Artikel" i want it to be of type "tArtikel", so what i tried in my code is: public tArtikel Artikel() { tArtikel artikel = new tArtikel(); } Which results in: "'Artikel' member names cannot be the same as their enclosing type". How would i set this up correctly?

    I have identified this call as a bottleneck in a high pressure function. graphics.DrawImage(smallBitmap, x , y); Is there a faster way to blend small semi transparent bitmaps into a larger semi transparent one? Example Usage: XY[] locations = GetLocs(); Bitmap[] bitmaps = GetBmps(); //small images sizes vary approx 30px x 30px using (Bitmap large = new Bitmap(500, 500, PixelFormat.Format32bppPArgb)) using (Graphics largeGraphics = Graphics.FromImage(large)) { for(var i=0; i < largeNumber; i++) { //this is the bottleneck largeGraphics.DrawImage(bitmaps[i], locations[i].x , locations[i].y); } } var done = new MemoryStream(); large.Save(done, ImageFormat.Png); done.Position = 0; return (done); The DrawImage calls take a small 32bppPArgb bitmaps and copies them into a larger bitmap at locations that vary and the small bitmaps might only partially overlap the larger bitmaps visible area. Both images have semi transparent contents that get blended by DrawImage in a way that is important to the output. I've done some testing with BitBlt but not seen significant speed improvement and the alpha blending didn't come out the same in my tests. I'm open to just about any method including a better call to bitblt or unsafe c# code.

  • Copy SQL Server data from one server to another on a schedule

    I have a pair of SQL Servers at different webhosts, and I'm looking for a way to periodically update the one server using the other. Here's what I'm looking for: As automated as possible - ideally, without any involvement on my part once it's set up. Pushes a number of databases, in their entirely (including any schema changes) from one server to the other Freely allows changes on the source server without breaking my process. For this reason, I don't want to use replication, as I'd have to break it every time there's an update on the source, and then recreate the publication and subscription One database is about 4GB in size and contains binary data. I'm not sure if there's a way to export this to a script, but it would be a mammoth file if I did. Originally, I was thinking of writing something that takes a scheduled full backup of each database, FTPs the backups from one server to the other once they're done, and then the new server picks it up and restores it. The only downside I can see to this is that there's no way to know that the backups are done before starting to transfer them - can these backups be done synchronously? Also, the server being refreshes is our test server, so if there's some downtime involved in moving the data, that's fine. Does anybody out there have a better idea, or is what I'm currently considering the best non-replication way to go? Thanks for your help, everybody. UPDATE: I ended up designing a custom solution to get this done using BAT files, 7Zip,command line FTP, and OSQL, so it runs in a completely automatic way and aggregates the data from a dozen servers across the country.   • Copy EXIF Metadata from TIF to JPEG in C# / VB.NET

    Hello! I would really appreciate if you could shed light on this problem. I have 2 images, one was created from TIF file with metadata, the other is an in-memory image that will be saved as jpeg. Then I use this routine to transfer exif metadata from first image to the second one (that is from the one created from tif file to the in-memory image): For Each _p In image1.PropertyItems image2.SetPropertyItem(_p) Next And this works perfectly fine. All exif items are successfully copied. I confirmed this by using watches in debug mode. The problem comes when you save image2 as jpeg using this: Dim eps As EncoderParameters = New EncoderParameters(1) eps.Param(0) = New EncoderParameter(Encoder.Quality, 85) Dim ici As ImageCodecInfo = GetEncoderInfo("image/jpeg") image2.Save("C:\1.jpg", ici, eps) Only very few EXIF properties are saved with image2 jpeg file however, namely only camera model and camera maker. However If I save image2 as TIF, all properties from the original tif will be there. Can anyone explain why is that? Thanks.

  • In terminal, merging multiple folders into one.

    I have a backup directory created by WDBackup (western digital external HD backup util) that contains a directory for each day that it backed up and the incremental contents of just what was backed up. So the hierarchy looks like this: 20100101 My Documents Letter1.doc My Music Best Songs Every First Songs.mp3 My song.mp3 # modified 20100101 20100102 My Documents Important Docs Taxes.doc My Music My Song.mp3 # modified 20100102 ...etc... Only what has changed is backed up and the first backup that was ever made contains all the files selected for backup. What I'm trying to do now is incrementally copy, while keeping the folder structure, from oldest to newest, each of these dated folders into a 'merged' folder so that it overrides the older content and keeps the new stuff. As an example, if just using these two example folders, the final merged folder would look like this: Merged My Documents Important Docs Taxes.doc Letter1.doc My Music Best Songs Every First Songs.mp3 My Song.mp3 # modified 20100102 Hope that makes sense.     I get the following message when trying to execute etherpad/bin/run-local.sh: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/appjet/oui/main I created CLASSPATH variable, export CLASSPATH="/home/user/src/etherpad/trunk/infrastructure/build" but that didn't help either. Although I can clearly see net/appjet/oui package in the build directory.

  • visual studio macro - copy a definition or declaration from/to .h to/from .cpp

    Is it possible to do a macro that copies a definition of a function to a declaration, and also the opposite? For instance class Foo { Foo(int aParameter, int aDefaultParameter = 0); int someMethod(char aCharacter) const; }; from the .h file would be: Foo::Foo(int aParameter, int aDefaultParameter){ // } int Foo::someMethod(char aCharacter) const { return 0; } in the .cpp file. The opposite wouldn't work with the default value, but it would still be cool if it copied the declaration into the class in the header file. Also if it could return a default value as in someMethod (based on the return value from the declaration). Personally I tried to do macrocoding some year ago (I think it was around 2005) but the tutorials and documentation of macros was thin (or I hadn't searched enough). I ended up going through the examples that they had in the IDE but gave up when I figured it would take too long to learn. I would however like to give it a try again. So if there are anyone with knowledge of good tutorials or documentation that aims at Visual Studio .Net (and maybe also covers the above problem) I would probably accept that as an answer as well :)

  • Formatting when copying SQL data and pasting in Excel

    I want to copy a sql result set and paste it in Excel. But the data I paste in to the spreadsheet doesn't want to recognize Excel formatting. So if I change a column to currency, it doesn't do anything. But...if I double click on a cell, THEN it applies the currency format. But only to that cell. How can I make it automatically recognize the Excel format? I must be something I'm missing. Hopefully somebody can help. :-)

  • MSBuild / PowerShell: Copy SQL Server 2012 database to SQL Azure via BACPAC (for Continuous Integration)

    I'm creating a continuous integration MSBuild script which copies a database in on-premise SQL Server 2012 to SQL Azure. Easy right? Methods After a fair bit of research I've come across the following methods: Use PowerShell to access the DAC library directly, then use the MSBuild PowerShell extension to wrap the script. This would require installing PowerShell 3 and working out how to make the MSBuild PowerShell extension work with it, as apparently MS moved the DAC API to a different namespace in the latest version of the library. PowerShell would give direct access to the API, but may require quite a bit of boilerplate. Use the sample DAC Framework Client Side Tools, which requires compiling them myself, as the downloads available from Codeplex only include the Hosted version. It would also require fixing them to use DAC 3.0 classes as they appear to currently use an earlier version of DAC. I could then call these tools from an <Exec Command="" /> in the MSBuild script. Less boilerplate and if I hit any bumps in the road I can just make changes to the source. Processes Using whichever method, the process could be either: Export from on-premise SQL Server 2012 to local BACPAC Upload BACPAC to blog storage Import BACPAC to SQL Azure via Hosted DAC Or: Export from on-premise SQL Server 2012 to local BACPAC Import BACPAC to SQL Azure via Client DAC Question All of the above seems to be quite a lot of effort for something that seems to be a standard feature... so before I start reinventing the wheel and documenting the results for all to see, is there something really obvious that I've missed here? Is there pre-written script that MS has released that I have not yet uncovered? There's an command in the GUI of SQL Server Management Studio 2012 that does EXACTLY what I'm trying to do (right click on local database, click "Tasks", click "Deploy Database to SQL Azure"). Surely if it's a few clicks in the GUI it must be a single command on the command line somewhere??
