  • How do I run a VBScript in 32-bit mode on a 64-bit machine?

    - by Peter
I have a text file that ends with .vbs that I have written the following in: Set Conn = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") Conn.Provider = "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" Conn.Properties("Data Source") = "C:\dummy.accdb" Conn.Properties("Jet OLEDB:Database Password") = "pass" Conn.Open Conn.Close Set Conn = Nothing When I execute this on a Windows 32-bit machine it runs and ends without any notion (expected). When I execute this on a Windows 64-bit machine it gets the error "Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed.". But it is installed. I think the root of the problem is that the provider is a 32-bit provider, as far as I know it doesn't exist as 64-bit. If I run the VBScript through IIS on my 64-bit machine (as a ASP file) I can select that it should run in 32-bit mode. It can then find the provider. How can I make it find the provider on Windows 64-bit? Can I tell CScript (which executes the .vbs text file) to run in 32-bit mode somehow?

  • How can I show print statements in debug mode of OPNET Modeler?

    - by Here now
    I'm writing C++ code in OPNET Modeler. I try to simulate my scenario in debugger mode & I need to trace the function that I wrote it. I need to show print statements which I put it in my code. I used in debugger mode: ***ltr function_name()*** then ***c*** But the result looks like: Type 'help' for Command Summary ODB> ltr enqueue_packet() Added trace #0: trace on label (enqueue_packet()) ODB> c |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| | Progress: Time (1 min. 52 sec.); Events (500,002) | | Speed: Average (82,575 events/sec.); Current (82,575 events/sec.) | | Time : Elapsed (6.1 sec.) | | DES Log: 28 entries | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| | Progress: Time (1 min. 55 sec.); Events (1,000,002) | | Speed: Average (69,027 events/sec.); Current (59,298 events/sec.) | | Time : Elapsed (14 sec.) | | DES Log: 28 entries | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| | Progress: Time (1 min. 59 sec.); Events (1,500,002) | | Speed: Average (51,464 events/sec.); Current (34,108 events/sec.) | | Time : Elapsed (29 sec.) | | DES Log: 28 entries | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| | Simulation Completed - Collating Results. | | Events: Total (1,591,301); Average Speed (48,803 events/sec.) | | Time : Elapsed (33 sec.); Simulated (2 min. 0 sec.) | | DES Log: 29 entries | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| | Reading network model. | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| I need to show the print statements in my code.   • wave.getState() returns null

    - by RMorrisey
When trying to call wave.getState() in my Google Wave gadget, I get back null (no state object). How can I initialize the Wave state object? I am working in the Wave Sandbox. My ModulePrefs contains the following: <Require feature="wave" /> <Require feature="rpc"/> I got the "rpc" feature from some google groups post when searching for a fix, but it doesn't seem to be any help. The gadget contains a jQuery plugin, which defines the classes I use (not shown), attaches an event handler to the link that shows up in edit mode, and sets up the callback methods with the google wave gadget initializer: $.fn.extend({ $.gork.InitPass.newButtonClick = function newButtonClick() { var jer = new $.gork.InitPass.Player('Jeremias', 12, 2); var delta = {}; delta[jer.name] = jer.serialize(); wave.getState().submitDelta(delta); }; $.gork.InitPass.modeCallback = function modeCallback() { var state = wave.getState(); var mode = wave.getMode(); $.gork.InitPass.getContainer().ipCombatState(state, (mode == wave.Mode.EDIT)); }; $.gork.InitPass.stateCallback = function stateCallback() { $.gork.InitPass.getContainer().ipCombatState( wave.getState(), (wave.getMode() == wave.Mode.EDIT)); alert('state'); }; $.gork.InitPass.init = function init() { if (wave && wave.isInWaveContainer()) { var mode = wave.getMode(); $('.gork-ip-container').ipCombatState(null, (mode == wave.Mode.EDIT)); wave.setModeCallback($.gork.InitPass.modeCallback); wave.setStateCallback($.gork.InitPass.stateCallback); } }; })(jQuery); gadgets.util.registerOnLoadHandler($.gork.InitPass.init); $(function ready() { $.gork.InitPass.getContainer().find('.gork-ip-edit .addSection a.newButton').click( $.gork.InitPass.newButtonClick); }); So there are two main pieces of functionality here: When the mode changes, ipCombatState(...) is called. This changes the visual appearance of the gadget when the user puts the gadget in Edit mode (CTRL+E), by hiding the view DIV and displaying the edit DIV. The newButtonClick callback (which is attached to the link "a.newButton" in the edit container) is supposed to add Jeremias (Nate's Shadowrun character) to the gadget state, so that he'll be appear as a table row in edit mode. I have verified that the initializer method is called, and the view/edit mode switch works just fine (except the state is null). When I click on the new button link (the link at the bottom in edit mode), and trigger the newButtonClick handler, I get an error because wave.getState() also returns null. How can I initialize the wave state so that I can work with it? The purpose of my gadget will be to keep track of combat initiative order in a Shadowrun tabletop game (4th Ed). You can test it out in Wave and see what I have so far: http://gorkwobble.herobo.com/wave/init-pass.xml The actual javascript code is externalized to: http://gorkwobble.herobo.com/wave/init-pass.js P.S. If any Shadowrun players read this, and want to hear about it when I get the gadget working, leave a comment and I'll wave you.

  • Why can't I connect to a Cisco wireless access point?

    - by spinlock
I'm running a Lucid Netbook Remix on my Dell Inspiron 600m and I was not able to connect to the wireless network at the Hacker Dojo in Mountain View yesterday. There were plenty of other people on the network - MS, Mac, and Linux boxes - but my laptop would never get an ip address. I can connect to my home network, which is open, and I've never had a problem connecting at the coffee shop, which uses WPA. The Hacker Dojo is running WPA and we checked the password a number of times but got no love. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. • How to build OpenSSL in release mode with symbols?

    - by twk
I generally build my openssl libs by doing this: perl Configure VC-WIN32 ms\do_masm nmake -f ms\ntdll.mak nmake -f ms\ntdll.mak test For debugging minidumps, I'd like to get a pdb file for the 2 dlls (while still building them in "release" mode). I've added /Zi to the CFLAGS part of ms\ntdll.mak, but I still get "Binary was not built with debug information" when I look at the in-memory modules in the visual studio debugger. Am I missing a step? Thanks

    - by JD
Hi, I have taken ownership of an application which is a .net win forms application which hosts a System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser. When the application launches it makes a http request to load a xap file. I immediately see "install silverlight" icon and on clicking get: "Microsoft Silverlight cannot be used in browsers running in 64 bit mode". The app was written initially on a 32 bit machine although I have a 64 bit machine. Any ideas what I need to tweak to get this running? JD

  • Why am I losing sessions when running in StateServer mode?

    - by Nick Allen - Tungle139
I have checked the servers (Win Server 2003) application event logs for the following problem http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308097 which doesn't show up. It just appears that sessions drop randomly for random users It's a single server setup, no web farms and no load balancing Even though the issue I point to above doesn't occur in the logs, is it worth increasing the stateNetworkTimeout attribute anyway? The configuration at the moment is simply <sessionState mode="StateServer" cookieless="false" stateConnectionString="tcpip=localhost:42424" timeout="60"/>

  • Rails - why would a model inside RAILS_ROOT/lib not be available in production mode?

    - by sa125
Hi - I have a class located inside RAILS_ROOT/lib folder, which I use in one of my helpers, and it works great in development. When I switch to production, the application throws a NameError (uninitialized constant SomeHelper::SomeClass), and I have to load it manually in the helper: load "#{Rails.root}/lib/some_class.rb" module SomeHelper def some_method sc = SomeClass.new # blah end end I was under the impression that everything inside RAILS_ROOT/lib/* should be available all to the app - is there anything I need to configure to make this happen in prod mode? thanks.

  • Air XmlHttpRequest time out if remote server is offline?

    - by Seth
I'm writing an AIR application that communicates with a server via XmlHttpRequest. The problem that I'm having is that if the server is unreachable, my asynchronous XmlHttpRequest never seems to fail. My onreadystatechange handler detects the OPENED state, but nothing else. Is there a way to make the XmlHttpRequest time out? Do I have to do something silly like using setTimeout() to wait a while then abort() if the connection isn't established? Edit: Found this, but in my testing, wrapping my xmlhttprequest.send() in a try/catch block or setting a value on xmlhttprequest.timeout (or TimeOut or timeOut) doesn't have any affect.

I'm reading a bunch of MySQL files that use # (to end-of-line) comments, but my sql-mode doesn't support them. I found the syntax-table part of sql.el that defines /**/ and -- comments, but according to this, Emacs syntax tables support only 2 comment styles. Is there a way to add support for # comments in sql.el easily?

How would I go upon creating such a routine?

    - by serhio
I have a solution in Visual studio containing a winform project(WinProj) and a deployment project for WinProj. I added to the deployment project the primary output from WinProj. Does it be compiled in Debug or Release mode? I am asking because in the WinProj code I have conditional precompiler statements #if DEBUG throw; #endif will or not be considered this code in the setup project?
