  • Mail program splits link over two lines

    Hi, In C#, I'm sending a mail with an activation link to users after they have registered. However, the link is split over two lines in the mail and thus doesn't work. I've checked in Visual Studio and the string containing the link looks fine. I've also tried: strMessage.Replace("\r", ""); strMessage.Replace("\n", ""); but without success. Do you have any ideas on how to solve this? I've googled it for hours and can't find the solution... Thanks! /J

  • Dynamic External Program in debug tab vs2008

    I am playing with NServiceBus using the generic host; specifically I'm working on having 2 different configurations, a debug configuration that logs to the console and a release version that logs to metabase (I'm using VS2008). I had just made some code changes (commented out a logging statement), but it was still showing in the log when I ran my solution. I eventually figured out that I had switched configuration to release, made my change, then built. I think the change isn’t being picked up because in the debug tab of my project properties I have the following (abbreviated) path to the generic host: C:...\Inventory\bin\Debug\NServiceBus.Host.exe Notice it specifically points to the debug directory. So basically even though I’m in release config it’s firing up the host in the debug directory which I think is then using the dll's in the debug directory (which is why my changes didn't get picked up). I tried to come up with a workaround, but have been unsuccessful. VS Macros (like $(Configuration)) and relative pathing are not allowed here. http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/422223/relative-path-not-allowed-in-c-project-debug-properties-window Any ideas? I hope this doesn’t require a custom build task.

  • Why does this C program compile?

    I've just come across someone's C code that I'm confused as to why it is compiling. There are two points I don't understand. First, the function prototype has no parameters compared to the actual function definition. Secondly, the parameter in the function definition doesn't have an type. #include <stdio.h> int func(); int func(param) { return param; } int main() { int bla = func(10); printf("%d",bla); } Could someone please explain to me why this works? I'm trying to migrate over a Makefile with the lines: neotest: mvn exec:java -Dexec.mainClass="org.dhappy.test.NeoTraverse" And I would like mvn neotest to produce what make neotest does currently. Neither the exec plugin documentation nor the Maven Ant tasks pages had any sort of straightforward example. Currently, I'm at: <plugin> <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId> <artifactId>exec-maven-plugin</artifactId> <version>1.1</version> <executions><execution> <goals><goal>java</goal></goals> </execution></executions> <configuration> <mainClass>org.dhappy.test.NeoTraverse</mainClass> </configuration> </plugin> I don't know how to trigger the plugin from the command line, though.

  • Battery life if using GPS and background program

    I was wondering if anyone has created an app that starts in the background and utilizes the GPS to gather the current Lat and Long every minute or so? If you have, would you please provide your battery times? As in, how long does your phone last until its all out of juice from just running that background app with standard cell phone programs. I'm trying to see if it would be worth the time to create an app for myself but if i work for 8 hours and dont have a way of charging my phone during that time then i dont want to be going home and it shut down on me since my app i would create works at my house. I need the app to work since it will see when i am in range of my home (from the GPS) and then send commands to my server at the house from my phone. So thats why it would need to be able to stay in the background doing a check every 1 minute or so. Or only turn on the GPS (Is is doable with iOS? & Android?) whenever its after 5pm each day so that it will minimize the load on the battery?!? Any help or suggestions would be great! Thanks!

  • Best way to program a call to php

    I've recently posted here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2627645/accessing-session-when-using-file-get-contents-in-php about a problem I was having and the general consensus is that I'm not doing it right... while I generally think "as long as it works..." I thought I'd get some feedback on how I could do it better... I was to send the exact same email in the exact same format from multiple different areas. When a job is entered (automatically as a part of the POST) Manually when reviewing jobs to re-assign to another installer The original script is a php page which is called using AJAX to send the work order request - this worked by simply calling a standard php page, returning the success or error message and then displaying within the calling page. Now I have tried to use the same page within the automated job entry so it accepts the job via a form, logs it and mails it. My problem is (as you can see from the original post) the function file_get_contents() is not good for this cause in the automated script... My problem is that from an AJAX call I need to do things like include the database connection initialiser, start the session and do whatever else needs to be done in a standalone page... Some or all of these are not required if it is an include so it makes the file only good for one purpose... How do I make the file good for both purposes? I guess I'm looking for recommendations for the best file layout and structure to cater for both scenarios...
