• How to deploy jar artifacts directly from a maven repository to appserver specific directories

  I have JDBC driver dependencies (e.g. h2, mysql ..) which have to be copied under ${jboss.home}/common/lib before it is used by my EAR application. What would be the best way to directly copy from a maven repository into the above location instead of doing a manual copy. I would not prefer to store copies of the drivers as part of my SVN. Note: I currently specify this as a maven dependency and copy this artifact from the local repository, not sure if this is the best way to do solve this.

  I have program which monitors a directory (/test) and notify me. I want to improve this to monitor another directory (say /opt). And also how to monitor it's subdirectories , current i'll get notified if any changes made to files under /test . but i'm not getting any inotifcation if changes made sub-directory of /test, that is touch /test/sub-dir/files.txt .. • Cisco VPN Client on Vista - Virtual Adapter

  I have used the Cisco VPN client for years, and on XP it is pretty much rock solid, on Vista, not so much. You might be able to connect, but unless you set up a constant ping to something, it usually will disconnect, with this error: Reason 442: Failed to enable Virtual Adapater Now, most sysadmins will say, update you client - yes, I know, it hasnt mitigated the issue, ever. I have been using it on Vista since it came out, and updated my client every time a new update comes out. I have used it where the VPN server was a Cisco PIX and a Windows Box allowing the Cisco Client to connect. Anyone have any fixes that you can do on your client to fix this issue?

• Sharing VPN from XP to Linux virtual

  Hi I will keep the question simple with few details, if more is needed tell me. Thanks. I am playing around with networking and virtualbox. So I have 2 virtual machines. One is windows xp and another has linux in it. Windows XP has 2 network cards. One for the internet and the other to connect to the linux computer. Linux has one 1 card and it can only access the internet passing through Windows XP. Internet works fine until I activate OpenVPN on Windows. When I turn on VPN, Linux has no access to it. How can I make linux use VPN too? I believe it has something to do with using the "route" command on XP to send VPN traffic to Linux but I was not able to figure it out how yet.

• Git is ignoring .git directories in subdirectories

  I'm using git as a backup tool and 'roaming profile' for my $HOME directory between laptop and desktop. My problem is that under my $HOME I have a Development directory with multiple git projects I'm working on. Git will not allow me to add the subdirectories .git folders. So to commit to these projects I have to push the changes into my $HOME git repo, pull on laptop (where they were created and .git dir exsits) and commit. I've read about submodules, but it's not really what I want. I just want the children .git folders to be treated like any old directory so I can move them around and back them up. Has anyone done this or have an idea how I would?

  I asked this a few months ago, and only received one response which didn't work. I've been tinkering with it for the past few weeks, and I'm still completely lost, so I would appreciate anyone else's input as I'm all out of ideas. what I'm trying to do is add a list of folders and files all to the root of my Zip file, using the Ionic Zip library (c#).   Could someone explain to me why adding a virtual function to the end of a class declaration avoids binary incompatibility? If I have: class A { public: virtual ~A(); virtual void someFuncA() = 0; virtual void someFuncB() = 0; virtual void other1() = 0; private: int someVal; }; And later modify this function to: class A { public: virtual ~A(); virtual void someFuncA(); virtual void someFuncB(); virtual void someFuncC(); virtual void other1() = 0; private: int someVal; }; I get a coredump from another .so compiled against the previous declaration. But if I put someFuncC() at the end of the class declaration (after "int someVal"), I don't see coredump anymore. Could someone tell me why this is? And does this trick always work? PS. compiler is gcc, does this work with other compilers?

  I've finished both my C++ 1/2 classes and we did not cover anything on Linking to libraries or adding additional libraries to C++ code. I've been having a hay-day trying to figure this out; I've been unable to find basic information linking to objects. Initially I thought the problem was the IDE (Netbeans; and Code::Blocks). However I've been unable to get wxWidgets and GTKMM setup. Can someone point me in the right direction on the terminology and basic information about #including files and linking files in a Cpp application? Basically I want/need to know everything in regards to this process. The difference between .dll, .lib, .o, .lib.a, .dll.a. The difference between a .h and a "library" (.dll, .lib correct?) I understand I need to read the compiler documentation I am using; however all compilers (that I know of) use linker and headers; I need to learn this information.   Hi there I'm trying to make a backup/copy of my virtual machine, it's installed in a Windows Server 2000 and I want to make some modifications/tests without changing the original one. The copy is to be used in Windows 7, what I'm trying to do is work/modify an application that communicates with a DB, this application is hosted on the VM, the DB too, and since I don't want to screw up the stable version I want to know how to copy the VM to my desktop pc to experiment without worries. Now, someone told me I might have problems with the IP 'cause the original will have the same IP, and if I change it, it won't work properly. Is this true? If it is indeed true, any suggestions??

  Hi all, I'm trying to set up a virtual host for redmine.SITENAME.com. I've edited the httpd.conf file and now I'm trying to edit my DNS settings. However, I'm not sure exactly what to do. Here's an snippet of what's already in the named.conf file (the file was made by someone else who is unreachable): zone "SITENAME.com" { type master; file "SITENAME.com"; allow-transfer { ip.address.here.00; common-allow-transfer; }; }; I figure if I want to get redmine.SITENAME.com working, I need to copy that entry and just replace SITENAME.com with redmine.SITENAME.com but will that work? I was under the impression I needed a .db file but I don't see any reference to one in the current named.conf file. Any advice would be great and if you need more info to answer the question, don't hesitate to ask.

• Reloading Rails Directories: Not Lib!

  I have checked out several questions on this, including all of those you see next to the question. Unfortunately, I'm not working with a plugin, and I don't want to work in lib. I have a directory called File.join(Rails.root, 'classes') and I'd like the classes in this directory to reload automatically in dev. In my environment.rb I have this line config.load_paths << File.join(Rails.root, 'classes') which works fine and blows up if the path isn't there. The reloading line in my development.rb also works fine require_dependency File.join(Rails.root, 'classes', 'blah.rb') which blows up if the file is not there (a good sign). However, the file doesn't reload. This all works if the file is in the root of lib and I use the require_dependency line, but my whole point is to get stuff out of lib as suggested here.

  Hi, We have purchased an unmanaged VPS windows hosting solution from one of the UK based companies. We have Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition. We need to install certain third party applications on that server. Unfortunatelly, one of the applications requires a MAC address to be present at all times - this is their way of making sure that software is not pirated (which it isn't). We have tried installing a virtual loopback network card, but this has brought the server down - i.e. we couldn't connect using remote desktop any longer. At the moment we are limited with what we can try. This is an unmanaged solution, therefore any support including restarts is rather costly. Are you aware of any low-risk solutions? Thank you

• Getting VPN to work from Virtual PC

  Setup: Host is running Windows7. Virtual PC is a Windows Server 2008 running under VMWare workstation 6.5. From the Host I have a VPN to e.g. TFS and other resources. From the VPC I need to connect to e.g. a SQL server via the VPN. My problem is, that I cannot get a connection from the VPC. If I'm sitting on the corporate network, all is working fine (but then I don't have the VPN). From home - where the VPN is required - it does not work. I have two network adapters defined/configued. One as BRIDGED and one as Host Only. IF I change the one being BRIDTED to NATS I have no connectivity at all from the VPC. I have no problems connecting from my host to the VPC. Thanks.
