    In the 1.6 API, is there a way to ensure that the onStart() method of a Service is called after the service is killed due to memory pressure? From the logs, it seems that the "process" that the service belongs to is restarted, but the service itself is not. I have placed a Log.d() call in the onStart() method, and this is not reached. To test my service under memory pressure, I spawn it from an activity, then launch the web browser and visit some Javascript-heavy websites like Slashdot until my service is killed.     Hi, I'm trying to edit my sidebar.php file in my current them WP is using to display the last # of posts (only the titles) as links. I tried using the example of http://codex.wordpress.org/Integrating_WordPress_with_Your_Website but I always get the error on the line that states where the file wp-blog-header can be found. the error when opening the index blog page where the sidebar should be shown: // Get the last 3 posts.   • addChild to root and fade in

    Still very newbish at Actionscript. Trying to get a website done for class on wednesday, but I can't get this one thing down. Currently there's the main timeline, then a movieclip called menu_mc, and within that are a bunch of buttons. For now, I only have one button scripted. When the button is scripted, I want a movieclip with content embedded in it to fade in on the right side, along with a close button. I can get the movie/button to appear and close, but I can't get them to fade in and out.   • Problems with utf-8 encoding in php

    Hi, Another utf-8 related problem I believe... I am using php to update data in a mysql db then display that data elsewhere in the site. Previously I have run into utf-8 problems before where special characters are displayed as question marks when viewed in a browser but this one seems slightly different. I have a number of records to enter that contain the è character. If I enter this directly in the db then it appears correctly on the page so I take this to mean that utf-8 content is being output correctly. However when I try and update the values in the db through php, then the è character is replaced. What appears instead is & Atilde ; & uml ; (without the spaces) which appears in the browser as è I have the tables in the database set to use UTF-8. I believe this is correct cos, as mentioned, if I update the db through phpMyAdmin, its all ok. Similarly I have set the character encoding for the page which seems to be correct. I am also running the sql statement "SET NAMES 'utf8';" before trying to update the db. Anyone have any other ideas as to where the problem may lie? Many thanks

  • Migrating MOSS 2007 from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 - Addendum

    This is a continuation of an earlier question I had about moving the databases for a MOSS 2007 installation from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005. Here's the URL for the original question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/254517/migrating-moss-2007-from-sql-2000-to-sql-2005 In my test environment, I've successfully moved the databases to the SQL 2005 test machine and things appear to be working fine. But, on the "Servers in Farm" page of the Central Admin | Operations, it still shows the old (i.e. SQL 2000) server as the Configuration Database Server. Also, it shows the old config database as being the Configuration Database. I know that the SQL2000 server and old config database (that are showing on this page) are NOT being used, because we've deactived the SQL instance in SQL2000. I've tried "removing" the server, and get a message about "Uninstalling SharePoint products and technologies" being the better route. So, I disconnected from the test databases, uninstalled SharePoint from the test WFE server, and reinstalled it. That didn't do anything. Before uninstalling/reinstalling I also tried simply rerunning the SharePoint Configuration wizard, and that didn't do anything either. Does anyone know how to update the Config Server and Config Database on the "Servers in Farm" page after having moved the Config and Content DBs? Is there something I'm missing or overlooking?   • In what order does DOJO handles ajax requests?

    Hi, Using a form in a dialog box I am using Dojo in jsp to save the form in my database. After that request is completed using dojo.xhrPost() I am sending in another request to update a dropdown box that should include the added form object that was just saved, but for some reason the request to update the dropdown is executed before saving the form in the database even though the form save is called first. Using Firebug I can see that the getLocations() request is completed before the sendForm() request.   • Preserving SCRIPT tags (and more) in CKEditor

    Update: I'm thinking the solution to this problem is in CKEDITOR.config.protectedSource(), but my regular-expression experience is proving to be too juvenile to handle this issue. How would I go about exempting all tags that contain the 'preserved' class from being touched by CKEditor? Is it possible to create a block of code within the CKEditor that will not be touched by the editor itself, and will be maintained in its intended-state until explicitly changed by the user? I've been attempting to input javascript variables (bound in script tags) and a flash movie following, but CKEditor continues to rewrite my pasted code/markup, and in doing so breaking my code.   • I like the way they Design/Architecture it but how do I implement this

    Summary: I have different components on homepage and each components shows some promotion to the user. I have Cart as one Component and depending upon content of the cart promotion are show. I have to track user online activities and send that information to Omniture for Report Generation. Now my components are loaded asynchronously basically are loaded when AjaxRequest is fired up and so there is not fix pattern or rather information on when components will appear on the webpages. Now in order to pass information to Omniture I need to call track function on $(document).(ready) and append information for each components(7 parameters are required by Omniture for each component). So in the init:config function of each component am calling Omniture and passing paramters but now no. of Omniture calls is directly proportional to no. of Components on the webpage but this is not acceptable as each call to Omniture is very expensive. Now I am looking for a way where in I can club the information about 7 parameters and than make one Call to Omniture wherein I pass those information. Points to note is that I do not know when the components are loaded and so there is no pre-defined time or no. of components that would be loaded. The thing is am calling track function when document is ready but components are loaded after call to Omniture has been made and so my question is Q: How can I collect the information for all the components and than just make one call to Omniture to send those information ? As mentioned, I do not know when the components are loaded as they are done on the Ajax Request. Hope I am able to explain my challenge and would appreciate if some one can provide from Design/Architect Solutions for the Challenge.

    I am trying to create Google Chrome extension that will send interesting links to twitter. But, I am unable to connect to the Twitter. The server gets my request, but the response is always the same: "You do not have permission to access /1/statuses/update.json on this server (403 Forbidden)." I am using Wireshark to inspect Http responses.     Hi everyone! I have a quite common problem, as I saw in the various user groups but could not find a suitable answer. What I want to do is generate an ASP.NET page in my website which will have the option of being exported into Microsoft Word .doc format.   • django powering multiple shops from one code base on a single domain

    Hey, I am new to django and python and am trying to figure out how to modify an existing app to run multiple shops through a single domain. Django's sites middleware seems inappropriate in this particular case because it manages different domains, not sites run through the same domain, e.g. : domain.com/uk domain.com/us domain.com/es etc. Each site will need translated content - and minor template changes. The solution needs to be flexible enough to allow for easy modification of templates. The forms will also need to vary a bit, e.g minor variances in fields and validation for each country specific shop. I am thinking along the lines of the following as a solution and would love some feedback from experienced django-ers: In short: same codebase, but separate country specific urls files, separate templates and separate database Create a middleware class that does IP localisation, determines the country based on the URL and creates a database connection, e.g. /au/ will point to the au specific database and so on. in root urls.py have routes that point to a separate country specific routing file, e..g (r'^au/',include('urls_au')), (r'^es/',include('urls_es')), use a single template directory but in that directory have a localised directory structure, e.g. /base.html and /uk/base.html and write a custom template loader that looks for local templates first. (or have a separate directory for each shop and set the template directory path in middleware) use the django internationalisation to manage translation strings throughout slight variances in forms and models (e.g. ZA has an ID field, France has 'door code' and 'floor' etc.) I am unsure how to handle these variations but I suspect the tables will contain all fields but allowing nulls and the model will have all fields but allowing nulls. The forms will to be modified slightly for each shop. Anyway, I am keen to get feedback on the best way to go about achieving this multi site solution. It seems like it would work, but feels a bit "hackish" and I wonder if there's a more elegant way of getting this solution to work. Thanks, imanc

I have used the blog.module as a reference, but what am I missing here?

  • WPF XAML references not resolved via myAssembly.GetReferencedAssemblies()

    I have a WPF container application (with ContentControl host) and a containee application (UserControl). Both are oblivious of each other. Only one XML config file holds the string dllpath of the containee's DLL and full namespace name of the ViewModelClass inside the containee. A generic code in container resolves containee's assembly (Assembly.LoadFrom(dllpath)) and creates the viewmodel's instance using Activator.CreateInstance(vmType). when this viewmodel is hosted inside the ContentControl of the container, and relevant vierwmodel specific ResourceDictionary is added to ContentControl.Resources.MergedDictionaries of the content control of container, so the view loads fine. Now my containee has to host the WPF DataGrid using assembly reference of WPFToolkit.dll from my local C:\Lib folder. The Copy Local reference to the WPFToolkit.dll is added to the .csproj file of the containee's project and its only referred in the UserControl.XAML using its XAML namepsace. This way my bin\debug folder in my containee application, gets the WPFToolkit.dll copied. XAML: xmlns:Controls="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Windows.Controls;assembly=WPFToolkit" <Controls:DataGrid ItemsSource="{Binding AssetList}" ... /> Issue: The moment the ViewModel (i.e. the containee's usercontrol) tries to load itself I get this error. "Cannot find type 'Microsoft.Windows.Controls.DataGrid'. The assembly used when compiling might be different than that used when loading and the type is missing." Hence I tried to load the referenced assemblies of the containee's assembly (myAssembly.GetReferencedAssemblies()) before the viewmodel is hosted. But WPFToolkit isnt there in that list of assemblies! Strange thing is I have another dll referred called Logger.dll in the containee codebase but this one is implemented using C# code behind. So I get its reference correctly resolved in myAssembly.GetReferencedAssemblies(). So does that mean BAML references of assemblies are never resolvable by GetReferencedAssemblies?

    I am building a web app which will generate lots of different code templates (HTML tables, XML documents, SQL scripts) that I want to render on screen as encoded HTML so that people can copy and paste those templates. I would like to be able to use asp.net mvc views to generate the code for these templates (rather than, say, using a StringBuilder). Is there a way using asp.net mvc to store the results of a rendered view into a string?   • Script to copy files on CD and not on hard disk to a new directory

    I need to copy files from a set of CDs that have a lot of duplicate content, with each other, and with what's already on my hard disk. The file names of identical files are not the same, and are in sub-directories of different names. I want to copy non-duplicate files from the CD into a new directory on the hard disk. I don't care about the sub-directories - I will sort it out later - I just want the unique files. I can't find software to do that - see my post at SuperUser http://superuser.com/questions/129944/software-to-copy-non-duplicate-files-from-cd-dvd Someone at SuperUser suggested I write a script using GNU's "find" and the Win32 version of some checksum tools. I glanced at that, and have not done anything like that before. I'm hoping something exists that I can modify. I found a good program to delete duplicates, Duplicate Cleaner (it compares checksums), but it won't help me here, as I'd have to copy all the CDs to disk, and each is probably about 80% duplicates, and I don't have room to do that - I'd have to cycle through a few at a time copying everything, then turning around and deleting 80% of it, working the hard drive a lot.     Is there any cross browser way to scroll the horizontal scroll bar of an IFrame with super wide content with Javascript inside the parent frame. Also I need it to be attached to the mouse wheel event.   • TextBox should display text in hexadecimal in a specific format

    I have a textbox in my xaml file which is editable. Now according to my project requirements content in textbox should only be 0-9 and a-f (hexadecimal values) and textbox should take the input based on hexadecimal values. Demonstratation: 12 ab 32 a5 64 Now if my cursor is at the end and i go on pressing backspace, it shud remove the values as it happens in a general text box. Now If my cursor is at the beginning of a5, and i press "delete key", the value should become like: 12 ab 32 56 4 If my cursor is at the end of a5 and i press the 'delete key" nothing should happen. I tried http://stackoverflow.com/questions/522864/open-jquery-modal-dialog-on-page-load but wasn't able to make it happen. Currently, the dialog is invoked on clicking a button / link. I would like to invoke it on page load.   • Android - BroadcastReceiver CONNECTIVITY ACTION

    in my project there's a service that listens for changes in the connectivity. When wifi is switched off to on then it gets called. The problem it's that i'm using a fragment and inside a fragment there's a button with the setonclicklistener(); and onclick(); SOMETIMES when i touch the button then the service receives an intent that the connectivity has changed (the method gets called without any reason...). How would I go about doing this? I believe that I'm going to have to check the elements by class of this $custom parameter. However, I have no idea how to go about doing this.
