Software Productivity Tools-> The Missing Link?
In an op-ed piece in this months SD Times, I
make the argument that software development productivity tools have evolved over the
years to become more mainstream. I make the case that while some developers shun tools,
in reality they take for granted the tools they are using today that were not available
10 years or so ago, or were not that mature. For example today we use some tools without
even thinking such as: SCM, build management, standards enforcement, ORM and UI components.
Tools today save a team a tremendous amount of time and are the missing link in the
software development process.
