• [IE] Remove the complete styling of an HTML button/submit

  Is there a way of completely removing the styling of a button in Internet Explorer? I use a css sprite for my button, and everything looks ok. But when I click the button, it moves to the top a little, it makes it look out of shape. Is there a css click state, or mousedown? I don't know what triggers that state. I know it's not a really big deal, but sometimes it's the small things that matter.

• Using jQuery to rapidly scroll through a countdown

  I have a webpage that displays the number 0, and when the user presses "start", the number should rapidly increasing until it reaches a target number (maybe 10,000 or so) a few seconds later. I'd like the numbers to scroll by as if they're on a slot machine wheel. I've managed to mostly hack something together using the ScrollTo plugin, but it's slow and choppy. It always stops briefly at certain divs along the way. Perhaps I'm using it wrong. Is there a better way to accomplish such an effect?

  Is possible refresh a function every x seconds or refresh it on single event? I explain: I have a function that make pagination on my website, inside every div that are "pages" I have some pictures where I have added LightBox. Everything works nice on the first div (page) but when I change the page it doesnt' work anymore. I tried to fix in this way: $('.pagination a').click(function () { initShadow(); }); In this way it work on the pageLoad and on the first page that I change, than it stop again. So I need to fix this issue, everytime I change the "page" I would like it works fine. Is possible to refresh a function every x second or to refresh it everytime I click on the pagination buttons?

• jQuery: 'async: false' Not Working With IE7 / IE6

  I created a simple tracking script which adds the users info to a database when the page is unloaded. It works on all browsers except IE7 and IE6. IE7 gives me errors, but I can't open the "debugger" because I'm using the standalone version (or at least that's what I think the problems is). I removed the async: false, from the script below and I didn't get any errors, but I need async set to false in order for the script to work. Any ideas? $(window).unload(function() { $.ajax({ type: "POST", async: false, url: "add.php", data: "ip=" + jIp + "&date=" + jDate + "&time=" + jTime, }); }); Update: I got IE7 to display the error, kinda. When I click OK on the dialog on top, it closes both dialogs. Ugh!

• jQuery Validation Plugin + equalTo Not Working

  Hey guys, Here is what I am currently using to attempt to validate a form. When I press submit with no values entered into the form, I get the error messages for each of the inputs as expected. However, no matter what I put in newpassword2 or newemail2 they never 'pass' validation. I've tried everything from copy and paste to making them one letter each to no success. Perhaps I am not using the equalTo attribute correctly... I've also verified that all the names of the selectors agree with the input id's on the form. Also, all of the inputs are contained within the form, so there aren't any outside of the form tags (I read that was an issue with someone else). $(document).ready(function() { $("#account_data").validate({ rules: { newpassword1: { required: true }, newpassword2: { equalTo: "#newpassword1" }, newemail1: { required: true, email: true }, newemail2: { equalTo: "#newemail1" } } }); }); Any help would be extremely appreciated! I have managed to create a flash object which plays well without FancyBox, however I want a person to click on the gallery and then an swobject is created which will then be show on a fancybox.   Hi I been sort of using jquery livequery plugin and jquery live together. However now that I am using 1.4 it seems jquery livequery is not working 100%.   I want to ask multiple choice questions in Rebol. Possible answers will be on buttons. I want to turn a button red when it is clicked and it is the wrong answer. When the correct button is pressed, I want to proceed to the next question. I can change the color of a box (mybox/color: red show mybox). I can set up a toggle with two colors (but I can't change it based on the result of an arbitrary test (is the answer correct?). It seems like there is probably a simple way to change the color of a button, without having to create my own button-like face objects. Isn't there?
