  • Multiple asynchronous method calls to method while in a loop

    - by ranabra
    I have spent a whole day trying various ways using 'AddOnPreRenderCompleteAsync' and 'RegisterAsyncTask' but no success so far. I succeeded making the call to the DB asynchronous using 'BeginExecuteReader' and 'EndExecuteReader' but that is missing the point. The asynch handling should not be the call to the DB which in my case is fast, it should be afterwards, during the 'while' loop, while calling an external web-service. I think the simplified pseudo code will explain best: (Note: the connection string is using 'MultipleActiveResultSets') "Select ID, UserName from MyTable" 'Open connection to DB ExecuteReader(); if (DR.HasRows) {     while (DR.Read())     {         'Call external web-service         'and get current Temperature of each UserName - DR["UserName"].ToString()         'Update my local DB         Update MyTable set Temperature = ValueFromWebService where UserName =                                       DR["UserName"]         CmdUpdate.ExecuteNonQuery();     }     'Close connection etc } Accessing the DB is fast. Getting the returned result from the external web-service is slow and that at least should be handled Asynchnously. If each call to the web service takes just 1 second, assuming I have only 100 users it will take minimum 100 seconds for the DB update to complete, which obviously is not an option. There eventually should be thousands of users (currently only 2). Currently everything works, just very synchnously :) Thoughts to myself: Maybe my way of approaching this is wrong? Maybe the entire process should be called Asynchnously Many thanx

  • How do I run JUnit from NetBeans?

    - by FarmBoy
    I've been trying to understand how to start writing and running JUnit tests. When I'm reading this article: http://junit.sourceforge.net/doc/testinfected/testing.htm I get the the middle of the page and they write, "JUnit comes with a graphical interface to run tests. Type the name of your test class in the field at the top of the window. Press the Run button." I don't know how to launch this program. I don't even know which package it is in, or how you run a library class from an IDE. Being stuck, I tried this NetBeans tutorial: http://www.netbeans.org/kb/docs/java/junit-intro.html It seemed to be going OK, but then I noticed that the menu options for this tutorial for testing a Java Class Library are different from those for a regular Java application, or for a Java Web App. So the instructions in this tutorial don't apply generally. I'm using NetBeans 6.7, and I've imported JUnit 4.5 into the libraries folder. What would be the normal way to run JUnit, after having written the tests? The JUnit FAQ describes the process from the Console, and I'm willing to do that if that is what is typical, but given all that I can do inside netbeans, it seems hard to believe that there isn't an easier way. Thanks much. EDIT: If I right-click on the project and select "Test" the output is: init: deps-jar: compile: compile-test: test-report: test: BUILD SUCCESSFUL (total time: 0 seconds) This doesn't strike me as the desired output of a test, especially since this doesn't change whether the test condition is true or not. Any ideas?

  • T-SQL While Loop and concatenation

    - by JustinT
    I have a SQL query that is supposed to pull out a record and concat each to a string, then output that string. The important part of the query is below. DECLARE @counter int; SET @counter = 1; DECLARE @tempID varchar(50); SET @tempID = ''; DECLARE @tempCat varchar(255); SET @tempCat = ''; DECLARE @tempCatString varchar(5000); SET @tempCatString = ''; WHILE @counter <= @tempCount BEGIN SET @tempID = ( SELECT [Val] FROM #vals WHERE [ID] = @counter); SET @tempCat = (SELECT [Description] FROM [Categories] WHERE [ID] = @tempID); print @tempCat; SET @tempCatString = @tempCatString + '<br/>' + @tempCat; SET @counter = @counter + 1; END When the script runs, @tempCatString outputs as null while @tempCat always outputs correctly. Is there some reason that concatenation won't work inside a While loop? That seems wrong, since incrementing @counter works perfectly. So is there something else I'm missing?

  • simpletest - Why does setReturnValue() seem to change behaviour depending on if test is run in isola

    - by JW
    I am using SimpleTest version 1.0.1 for a unit test. I create a new mock object within a test method and on it i do: $MockDbAdaptor->setReturnValue('query',1); Now, when i run this in a standalone unit test my tested object is happy to see 1 returned when query() is called on the mock db adaptor. However, when this exact same test is run as part of my 'all_tests' TestSuite, the test is failing. This happens because a call to the mock's query() method does not appear to return any value - thus causing my test subject to complain and trigger an unexpected exception that fails the test. So, the behaviour of setReturnValue() seems to change depending on whether the test is run in isolation or not. I can get it to work in both a standalone and TestSuite contexts by using this instead: $MockDbAdaptor->setReturnValueAt(0,'query',1); So my immediate problem can be fixed ...but it feels like a hack. I thought if i create a new mock within a test method then why is the setReturnValue() behaviour getting affected by the context in which the test class instance is run? It feel like a bug.

  • Flow control in a batch file

    - by dboarman-FissureStudios
    Reference Iterating arrays in a batch file I have the following: for /f "tokens=1" %%Q in ('query termserver') do ( if not ERRORLEVEL ( echo Checking %%Q for /f "tokens=1" %%U in ('query user %UserID% /server:%%Q') do (echo %%Q) ) ) When running query termserver from the command line, the first two lines are: Known ------------------------- ...followed by the list of terminal servers. However, I do not want to include these as part of the query user command. Also, there are about 4 servers I do not wish to include. When I supply UserID with this code, the program is promptly exiting. I know it has something to do with the if statement. Is this not possible to nest flow control inside the for-loop? I had tried setting a variable to exactly the names of the servers I wanted to check, but the iteration would end on the first server: set TermServers=Server1.Server2.Server3.Server7.Server8.Server10 for /f "tokens=2 delims=.=" %%Q in ('set TermServers') do ( echo Checking %%Q for /f "tokens=1" %%U in ('query user %UserID% /server:%%Q') do (echo %%Q) ) I would prefer this second example over the first if nothing else for cleanliness. Any help regarding either of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

  • Windows Azure WebRole stuck in a deployment loop

    - by Rob G
    I've been struggling with this one for a couple of days now. My current Windows Azure WebRole is stuck in a loop where the status keeps changing between Initializing, Busy, Stopping and Stopped. It never goes live, and I can can never see the website as a result. The WebRole is an "out of the box" MVC 2 application with Copy Local set to true on the Mvc dll and I haven't even tried hooking up a storage or WorkerRole yet, and there is nothing really happening inside the Start method that I can see would crash. I've really tried going back to basics to ensure nothing can complicate the process and the website launches without a problem on the Dev Fabric and yes it looks just like the standard "Home", "About" MVC app - just can't get it running in the cloud! Funny thing is, a few days ago, this exact package worked on the staging area in the cloud, and I could even see it in the browser - but could never get it swapped over to production, so I deleted everything and started from scratch, and now I can't even get it running on staging... Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to diagnose this problem myself because since logging this problem on the forums 2 days ago, there has been no improvement or feedback. Any help appreciated, Regards, Rob G

  • C# Switch-case Loop for Datagridview cells

    - by Nail Yener
    Hi, I am working on a form with datagridview and webbrowser controls. I have three columns as URL, username and password in datagridview. What I want to do is to automate the login for some websites that I use frequently. For that reason I am not sure if this is the right approach but I created the below code. The problem is with the argument of switch. I will click the row on datagridview and then click the login_button so that the username and password info will be passed to the related fields on the webpage. Why I need a switch-case loop is because all the webpages have different element IDs for username and password fields. As I said, I am not sure if datagridview allows switch-case, I searched the net but couldn't find any samples. private void login_button_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { switch (dataGridView1.Rows[e.RowIndex].Cells[e.ColumnIndex].Value.ToString()) { case "http://www.website1.com": webBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("username").InnerText = dataGridView1.Rows[3].Cells[3].Value.ToString(); webBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("password").InnerText = dataGridView1.Rows[3].Cells[4].Value.ToString(); return; case "http://www.website2.com": webBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("uname").InnerText = dataGridView1.Rows[4].Cells[3].Value.ToString(); webBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("pswd").InnerText = dataGridView1.Rows[4].Cells[4].Value.ToString(); return; } HtmlElementCollection elements = this.webBrowser1.Document.GetElementsByTagName("Form"); foreach (HtmlElement currentElement in elements) { currentElement.InvokeMember("Login"); } }

  • Infinite loop in regex in java

    - by carpediem
    Hello, My purpose is to match this kind of different urls: url.com my.url.com my.extended.url.com a.super.extended.url.com and so on... So, I decided to build the regex to have a letter or a number at start and end of the url, and to have a infinite number of "subdomains" with alphanumeric characters and a dot. For example, in "my.extended.url.com", "m" from "my" is the first class of the regex, "m" from "com" is the last class of the regex, and "y.", "extended." and "url." are the second class of the regex. Using the pattern and subject in the code below, I want the find method to return me a false because this url must not match, but it uses 100% of CPU and seems to stay in an infinite loop. String subject = "www.association-belgo-palestinienne-be"; Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile("^[A-Za-z0-9]\\.?([A-Za-z0-9_-]+\\.?)*[A-Za-z0-9]\\.[A-Za-z]{2,6}"); Matcher m = pattern.matcher(subject); System.out.println(" Start"); boolean hasFind = m.find(); System.out.println(" Finish : " + hasFind); Which only prints: Start I can't reproduce the problem using regex testers. Is it normal ? Is the problem coming from my regex ? Could it be due to my Java version (1.6.0_22-b04 / JVM 64 bit 17.1-b03) ? Thanks in advance for helping.

  • "<" operator error

    - by Nona Urbiz
    Why is the ( i < UniqueWords.Count ) expression valid in the for loop, but returns "CS0019 Operator '<' cannot be applied to operands of type 'int' and 'method group'" error when placed in my if? They are both string arrays, previously declared. for (int i = 0;i<UniqueWords.Count;i++){ Occurrences[i] = Words.Where(x => x.Equals(UniqueWords[i])).Count(); Keywords[i] = UniqueWords[i]; if (i<UniqueURLs.Count) {rURLs[i] = UniqueURLs[i];} } EDITED to add declarations: List<string> Words = new List<string>(); List<string> URLs = new List<string>(); //elements added like so. . . . Words.Add (referringWords); //these are strings URLs.Add (referringURL); UniqueWords = Words.Distinct().ToList(); UniqueURLs = URLs.Distinct().ToList(); SOLVED. thank you, parentheses were needed for method .Count() I still do not fully understand why they are not always necessary. Jon Skeet, thanks, I guess I don't understand what exactly the declarations are either then? You wanted the actual values assigned? They are pulled from an external source, but are strings. I get it! Thanks. (the ()'s at least.)

  • Remaking this loop by user?

    - by Elliot
    I'm wondering if theres a best practice for what I'm trying to accomplish... First we have the model categories, categories, has_many posts. Now lets say, users add posts. Now, I have a page, that I want to display only the current user's posts by category. Lets say we have the following categories: A, B, and C User 1, has posted in Categories A and B. In my view I have something like: <% @categories.select {|cat| cat.posts.count > 0}.each do |category| %> <%= category.name %><br/> <% category.posts.select {|post| post.user == current_user}.each do |post| %> <%= post.content %><br/> <% end %> <% end %> For the most part its almost there. The issue is, it will still show an empty category if any posts have been entered in it at all (even if the current user has not input posts into that category. So the question boils down to: How do I make the following loop only count posts in the category from the current user? <% @categories.select {|cat| cat.posts.count 0}.each do |category| % Best, Elliot

  • Add jquery autocomplete on ready to multiple text inputs

  • Range-based `for` statement definition redundancy

    - by GMan - Save the Unicorns
    Looking at n3092, in §6.5.4 we find the equivalency for a range-based for loop. It then goes on to say what __begin and __end are equal to. It differentiates between arrays and other types, and I find this redundant (aka, confusing). It says for arrays types that __begin and __end are what you expect: a pointer to the first and a pointer to one-past the end. Then for other types, __begin and __end are equal to begin(__range) and end(__range), with ADL. Namespace std is associated, in order to find the std::begin and std::end defined in <iterator>, §24.6.5. However, if we look at the definition of std::begin and std::end, they are both defined for arrays as well as container types. And the array versions do exactly the same as above: pointer to the first, pointer to one-past the end. Why is there a need to differentiate arrays from other types, when the definition given for other types would work just as well, finding std::begin and std::end? Some abridged quotes for convenience: §24.6.5 The range-based for statement — if _RangeT is an array type, begin-expr and end-expr are __range and __range + __bound, respectively, where __bound is the array bound. If _RangeT is an array of unknown size or an array of incomplete type, the program is ill-formed. — otherwise, begin-expr and end-expr are begin(_range) and end(_range), respectively, where begin and end are looked up with argument-dependent lookup (3.4.2). For the purposes of this name lookup, namespace std is an associated namespace. and §24.6.5 range access template T* begin(T (&array)[N]); Returns: array. template T* end(T (&array)[N]); Returns: array + N.

  • HttpURLConnection inside a loop

    - by Carlos Garces
    Hi! I'm trying to connect to one URL that I know that exist but I don't know when. I don't have access to this server so I can't change anything to receive a event. The actual code is this. URL url = new URL(urlName); for(int j = 0 ; j< POOLING && disconnected; j++){ HttpURLConnection connection = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection(); int status = connection.getResponseCode(); if(status == HttpURLConnection.HTTP_OK || status == HttpURLConnection.HTTP_NOT_MODIFIED){ //Some work }else{ //wait 3s Thread.sleep(3000); } } Java not is my best skill and I'm not sure if this code is good from the point of view of performance. I'm opening a new connection every 3 seconds? or the connection is reused? If I call to disconnect() I ensure that no new connections are open in the loop, but... it will impact in performance?. Suggestions? What is the fast/best ways to know it a URL exist?

  • Listing down stored records localStorage | Google Chrome Extensions

    - by Jamie
    How do I get to list down the stored records in the for loop? Basically I want it to list down the records like this: '<div id="record_' + number + '">' + localstorage value + '</div>' The number in the class should add 1 every record, e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4 every record it lists down, and so on. The localstorage value should show the localStorage[] but the problem is, the localStorage name has the same, e.g. (clicks on button) it will save the value of the URL into a localStorage I then open the application and shows the window.html inside there is list of stored records by using this: '<div id="record_' + number + '">' + localstorage value + '</div>' INCLUDING the record number to add per record 1, 2, 3, etc... like this: <div id="record_1">localstorage value</div> <div id="record_2">localstorage value</div> <div id="record_3">localstorage value</div> <div id="record_4">localstorage value</div> <div id="record_5">localstorage value</div> <div id="record_6">localstorage value</div> etc...

  • Fork in Perl not working inside a while loop reading from file

    - by Sag
    Hi, I'm running a while loop reading each line in a file, and then fork processes with the data of the line to a child. After N lines I want to wait for the child processes to end and continue with the next N lines, etc. It looks something like this: while ($w=<INP>) { # ignore file header if ($w=~m/^\D/) { next;} # get data from line chomp $w; @ws = split(/\s/,$w); $m = int($ws[0]); $d = int($ws[1]); $h = int($ws[2]); # only for some days in the year if (($m==3)and($d==15) or ($m==4)and($d==21) or ($m==7)and($d==18)) { die "could not fork" unless defined (my $pid = fork); unless ($pid) { some instructions here using $m, $d, $h ... } push @qpid,$pid; # when all processors are busy, wait for child processes if ($#qpid==($procs-1)) { for my $pid (@qpid) { waitpid $pid, 0; } reset 'q'; } } } close INP; This is not working. After the first round of processes I get some PID equal to 0, the @qpid array gets mixed up, and the file starts to get read at (apparently) random places, jumping back and forth. The end result is that most lines in the file get read two or three times. Any ideas? Thanks a lot in advance, S.

  • Cursor while loop returning every value but the last

    - by LordSnoutimus
    Hello, I am using a while loop to iterate through a cursor and then outputing the longitude and latitude values of every point within the database. For some reason it is not returning the last (or first depending on if I use Cursor.MoveToLast) set of longitude and latitude values in the cursor. Here is my code: public void loadTrack() { SQLiteDatabase db1 = waypoints.getWritableDatabase(); Cursor trackCursor = db1.query(TABLE_NAME, FROM, "trackidfk=1", null, null, null,ORDER_BY); trackCursor.moveToFirst(); while (trackCursor.moveToNext()) { Double lat = trackCursor.getDouble(2); Double lon = trackCursor.getDouble(1); //overlay.addGeoPoint( new GeoPoint( (int)(lat*1E6), (int)(lon*1E6))); System.out.println(lon); System.out.println(lat); } } From this I am getting: 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 3.0 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 5.0 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 4.0 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 5.0 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 5.0 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 5.0 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 4.0 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 4.0 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 3.0 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 3.0 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 2.0 04-02 15:39:07.416: INFO/System.out(10551): 2.0 04-02 15:39:07.493: INFO/System.out(10551): 1.0 04-02 15:39:07.493: INFO/System.out(10551): 1.0 7 Sets of values, where I should be getting 8 sets.   • Rails 3 : create two dimensional hash and add values from a loop

    - by John
    I have two models : class Project < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :ticket attr_accessible .... end class Ticket < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :project attr_accessible done_date, description, .... end In my ProjectsController I would like to create a two dimensional hash to get in one variable for one project all tickets that are done (with done_date as key and description as value). For example i would like a hash like this : What i'm looking for : @tickets_of_project = ["done_date_1" => ["a", "b", "c"], "done_date_2" => ["d", "e"]] And what i'm currently trying (in ProjectsController) ... def show # Get current project @project = Project.find(params[:id]) # Get all dones tickets for a project, order by done_date @tickets = Ticket.where(:project_id => params[:id]).where("done_date IS NOT NULL").order(:done_date) # Create a new hash @tickets_of_project = Hash.new {} # Make a loop on all tickets, and want to complete my hash @tickets.each do |ticket| # TO DO #HOW TO PUT ticket.value IN "tickets_of_project" WITH KEY = ticket.done_date ??** end end I don't know if i'm in a right way or not (maybe use .map instead of make a where query), but how can I complete and put values in hash by checking index if already exist or not ? Thanx :)

  • Help Needed With AJAX Script

    - by Brian
    Hello All I am working on an AJAX script but am having difficulties. First, here is the script: var xmlHttp; function GetXmlHttpObject(){ var objXMLHttp=null if (window.XMLHttpRequest){ objXMLHttp=new XMLHttpRequest() } else if (window.ActiveXObject){ objXMLHttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP") } return objXMLHttp } function retrieveData(){ var jBossServer = new Array(); jBossServer[0] = "d01"; jBossServer[1] = "d02"; jBossServer[2] = "p01"; jBossServer[3] = "p02"; for(var i=0; i<jBossServer.length; i++){ xmlHttp = GetXmlHttpObject(); if (xmlHttp == null){ alert ("Something weird happened ..."); return; } var url="./retrieveData.php"; url = url + "?jBossID=" + jBossServer[i]; url = url + "&sid=" + Math.random(); xmlHttp.open("GET",url,true); xmlHttp.onreadystatechange = updateMemory; xmlHttp.send(null); } } function updateMemory(){ if (xmlHttp.readyState == 4 || xmlHttp.readyState == "complete"){ aggregateArray = new Array(); aggregateArray = xmlHttp.responseText.split(','); for(var i=0; i<aggregateArray.length; i++){ alert(aggregateArray[i]); } return; } } The "retrieveData.php" page will return data that looks like this: d01,1 MB,2 MB,3 MB They relate to my 4 servers d01, d02, p01, and p02 (dev and prod). What I am doing is scraping the memory information from http://127.0.0.1:8080/web-console/ServerInfo.jsp I want to save code so I attempted to put the AJAX xmlHttp call into a loop, but I don't think it is working. All I ever get back is the information for "p02" four times. Am I able to do what I want or do I need four different functions for each server (i.e., xmlHttpServer01, xmlHttpServer02, xmlHttpServer03, xmlHttpServer04)? Thank you all for reading, have a good day. :)

  • matching an element's class to another element's ID, or *part* of another element's ID

    - by shecky
    hello again Such a simple concept but I'm struggling to express it ... apologies in advance for my verbosity. I have a container div with a class, e.g., ; I want to use that class to do two things: add a class (e.g., 'active') to the nav element whose ID matches the class of div#container (e.g., #nav-primary li# apples) add the same class to another element if part of this element's ID matches the class of #container (e.g., div#secondary-apples) I assume there's an .each() loop to check the primary nav's list items' IDs, and to check the div IDs of the secondary nav ... though the latter needs to have its prefix trimmed ... or should I say more simply if the secondary nav div IDs contain the class of div#container? I've tried a few variations of something like this: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $('#nav-primary li').each(function(){ var containerClass = $('#container').attr('class'); var secondaryID = $('#nav-primary li').attr('id'); // something like if ('#nav-primary li id' == (containerClass) { } // or should I first store a variable of the LI's ID and do something like this: if ( secondaryID == containerClass ) { } // and for the trickier part, how do I filter/trim the secondary nav div IDs, something like this: var secondaryNavID = $('#aux-left div[id ... something here to strip the 'secondary-' bit ... ]'); }); // end each }); // end doc.ready.func </script> The markup is, e.g.: ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Many thanks in advance for any suggestions, svs

  • QPainter declared inside a run function creates artifact.

    - by yan bellavance
    I am rendering a QPixmap inside of a QThread. the code to paint is inside a function. If I declare the painter inside the drawChart function everything seems ok but if I declare the painter inside the run function the image is wrong in the sense that at the edge of a black and white area, the pixels at the interface are overlapped to give a grey. Does anyone know why this is so? Could it be because of the nature of the run function itself? //This is ok void RenderThread::run() { QImage image(resultSize, QImage::Format_RGB32); drawChart(&image); emit renderedImage(image, scaleFactor); } drawChart(&image){ QPainter painter(image); painter.doStuff()(; ... } //This gives a image that seems to have artifacts void RenderThread::run() { QImage image(resultSize, QImage::Format_RGB32); QPainter painter(image); drawChart(painter); emit renderedImage(image, scaleFactor); } drawChart(&painter){ painter.doStuff()(; ... }

I am trying to display featured posts in the sidebar with this code: <?php query_posts('cat=5'); $url = get_permalink(); while(have_posts()){ the_post(); $image_tag = wp_get_post_image('return_html=true'); $resized_img = getphpthumburl($image_tag,'h=168&w=168&zc=1'); $title = $post->post_title; echo "<ul class='left_featured'>"; echo "<li><a href='"; echo $url; echo "'><img src='$resized_img' width='168' height='168' "; echo "'/></a></li>"; echo "<li><a href='"; echo $url; echo "'/>"; echo $title; echo "</a></li></ul>"; echo ""; }; ?> This gives me all sorts of crazy outputs, text from random posts, images, etc...Its supposed to output a list of images and titles for all of the posts in a certain category. Any help would be really appreciated. Oh yeah, I am using a plugin that resizes images on the fly, thats what the the wp_get_post_image/getphpthumburl business is.

  • MSTest unit test passes by itself, fails when other tests are run

    - by Sarah Vessels
    I'm having trouble with some MSTest unit tests that pass when I run them individually but fail when I run the entire unit test class. The tests test some code that SLaks helped me with earlier, and he warned me what I was doing wasn't thread-safe. However, now my code is more complicated and I don't know how to go about making it thread-safe. Here's what I have: public static class DLLConfig { private static string _domain; public static string Domain { get { return _domain = AlwaysReadFromFile ? readCredentialFromFile(DOMAIN_TAG) : _domain ?? readCredentialFromFile(DOMAIN_TAG); } } } And my test is simple: string expected = "the value I know exists in the file"; string actual = DLLConfig.Domain; Assert.AreEqual(expected, actual); When I run this test by itself, it passes. When I run it alongside all the other tests in the test class (which perform similar checks on different properties), actual is null and the test fails. I note this is not a problem with a property whose type is a custom Enum type; maybe I'm having this problem with the Domain property because it is a string? Or maybe it's a multi-threaded issue with how MSTest works?

  • PHPUnit reporting "Aborted" no matter what tests are run

    - by GrumpyCanuck
    Having a weird problem with PHPUnit. We're using PHPUnit as part of a continuous integration environment, that contains one app written using Zend Framework and one app written using CodeIgniter. Unit tests run just fine under Zend Framework, but whenever I run the tests for CodeIgniter using fooStack's CIUnit bridge, I always get the same problem at the end: PHPUnit 3.4.14 by Sebastian Bergmann. ............... . Time: 1 second, Memory: 7.00Mb OK (16 tests, 14 assertions) Aborted First off, I do not know what those empty spaces between the . means. Secondly, no matter what test I run (all of them or each one separately) I get the same Aborted message at the very end. The tests themselves do not contain any exit or die statements. When I run the same version of PHPUnit on my laptop (running OS-X Snow Leopard and same version of Zend Server Community Edition) I do not get that aborted message. Running PHP 5.3.2 on Ubuntu installed using Zend Server Community Edition. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

  • javascript scope problem when lambda function refers to a variable in enclosing loop

    - by Stefan Blixt
    First question on stackoverflow :) Hope I won't embarrass myself... I have a javascript function that loads a list of albums and then it creates a list item for each album. The list item should be clickable, so I call jQuery's click() with a function that does stuff. I do this in a loop. My problem is that all items seem to get the same click function, even though I try to make a new one that does different stuff in each iteration. Another possibility is that the iteration variable is global somehow, and the function refers to it. Code below. debug() is just an encapsulation of Firebug's console.debug(). function processAlbumList(data, c) { for (var album in data) { var newAlbum = $('<li class="albumLoader">' + data[album].title + '</li>').clone(); var clickAlbum = function() { debug("contents: " + album); }; debug("Album: " + album + "/" + data[album].title); $('.albumlist').append(newAlbum); $(newAlbum).click(clickAlbum); } } Here is a transcript of what it prints when the above function runs, after that are some debug lines caused by me clicking on different items. It always prints "10", which is the last value that the album variable takes (there are 10 albums). Album: 0/Live on radio.electro-music.com Album: 1/Doodles Album: 2/Misc Stuff Album: 3/Drawer Collection Album: 4/Misc Electronic Stuff Album: 5/Odds & Ends Album: 6/Tumbler Album: 7/Bakelit 32 Album: 8/Film Album: 9/Bakelit Album: 10/Slow Zoom/Atomic Heart contents: 10 contents: 10 contents: 10 contents: 10 contents: 10 Any ideas? Driving me up the wall, this is. :) /Stefan
