• PyDev and Django: PyDev breaking Django shell?

  I've set up a new project, and populated it with simple models. (Essentially I'm following the tut.) When I run python manage.py shell on the command line, it works fine: >python manage.py shell Python 2.6.4 (r264:75708, Oct 26 2009, 08:23:19) [MSC v.1500 32 bit (Intel)] on win32 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. (InteractiveConsole) >>> from mysite.myapp.models import School >>> School.objects.all() [] Works great. Then, I try to do the same thing in Eclipse (using a Django project that is composed of the same files.) • force delete row on django app after migration

  After a migration with south, I ended up deleting a column. • form with multiple upload but allow no upload on edit problems

The quickest and easiest way to do this is by defining a new language using the program options. In order to have Swine support available every time I start ctags, I will place the following lines into the file $HOME/.ctags, which is read in every time ctags starts: --langdef=swine --langmap=swine:.swn --regex-swine=/^def[ \t]*([a-zA-Z0-9_]+)/\1/d,definition/ The first line defines the new language, the second maps a file extension to it, and the third defines a regular expression to identify a language definition and generate a tag file entry for it. • Overriding MSBuildExtensionsPath in the MSBuild task is flaky

  This is already cross-posted at MS Connect: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/560451 I am attempting to override the property $(MSBuildExtensionsPath) when building a solution containing a C# web application project via msbuild. I am doing this because a web application csproj file imports the file "$(MSBuildExtensionsPath)\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v9.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.targets". This file is installed by Visual Studio to the standard $(MSBuildExtensionsPath) location (C:\Program Files\MSBuild). I would like to eliminate the dependency on this file being installed on the machine (I would like to keep my build servers as "clean" as possible). In order to do this, I would like to include the Microsoft.WebApplication.targets in source control with my project, and then override $(MSBuildExtensionsPath) so that the csproj will import this included version of Microsoft.WebApplication.targets. This approach allows me to remove the dependency without requiring me to manually modify the web application csproj file. This scheme works fine when I build my solution file from the command line, supplying the custom value of $(MSBuildExtensionsPath) at the command line to msbuild via the /p flag. However, if I attempt to build the solution using the MSBuild task in a custom msbuild project file (overriding MSBuildExtensionsPath using the "Properties" attribute), it fails because the web app csproj file is attempting to import the Microsoft.WebApplication.targets from the "standard" Microsoft.WebApplication.targets location (C:\Program Files\MSBuild). Notably, if I run msbuild using the "Exec" task in my custom project file, it works. Even more notably, the FIRST time I run the build using the "MSBuild" task AFTER I have run the build using the "EXEC" task (or directly from the command line), the build works. Has anyone seen behavior like this before? Am I crazy? Is anyone aware of the root cause of this problem, a possible workaround, or whether this is a legitimate bug in MSBuild?

• VLC desktop streaming

  Edit I stopped using VLC and switched to GMax FLV Encoder. It does a much better job IMO. Original post I am sending my desktop (screen) as an H264 video stream to another machine that saves it to a file using the follwoing command lines: Sender of the stream: vlc -I dummy --sout='#transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=512,scale=0.5} :rtp{mux=ts,dst=192.168.0.1,port=4444}' Receiver of the stream: vlc -I rc rtp://@:4444 --sout='#std{access=file,mux=ps,dst=/home/user/output.mp4}' --ipv4 This works, but there are a few issues: The file is not playable with most players. VLC is able to playback the file but with some weirdness: = it takes about 10 seconds before the playback actually begins. = seeking doesn't work. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to fix these issues? EDIT: I made a little progress. The initial delay in playback is because the player is waiting for a keyframe. By forcing the sender of the stream to create a new key-frame every 4 seconds I could decrease the delay: :screen-fps=10 --sout='#transcode{vcodec=h264,venc=x264{keyint=40},vb=512,scale=0.5} :rtp{mux=ts,dst=192.168.0.1,port=4444}' The seeking problem is not solved however, but I understand it a little better. The RTP stream is saved as a file in its original streaming format, which is normally not playable as a regular video file. VLC manages to play this file, but most other players don't. So I need to convert it to a regular video file. I am currently investigating whether I can do this with ffmpeg if I provide it with an SDP file for the recorded stream. All help is welcome!

  I need a little help here: I get a file from an HTML upload form. And I have a "target" filename in $File. When I do this: copy($_FILES['binfile']['tmp_name'], $File); echo '<hr>' . filesize($_FILES['binfile']['tmp_name']); echo '<hr>' . filesize($File); Everything works fine. I get the same number twice. However when I delete the first call of filesize(), I get "0" (zero). copy($_FILES['binfile']['tmp_name'], $File); echo '<hr>' . filesize($File); Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong? Why do I need to get the filesize of the "original" file before I can get the size of the copy? (That's actually what it is: I need to call the filesize() for the original file. • Reading Data from DDFS ValueError: No JSON object could be decoded

  I'm running dozens of map reduce jobs for a number of different purposes using disco. My data has grown enormous and I thought I would try using DDFS for a change rather than standard txt files. I've followed the DISCO map/reduce example Counting Words as a map/reduce job, without to much difficulty and with the help of others, Reading JSON specific data into DISCO I've gotten past one of my latest problems. I'm trying to read data in/out of ddfs to better chunk and distribute it but am having a bit of trouble.   hi, i have a website where i provicde a link. On clicking the link a controller action method is called to generate a zip file after creation of zip file is done, i show the link to download the zip file by replacing the link to create a zip with the link to download the zip. the problem is that after zip file creation is over and link is shown, when user clicks on the link to download the zip file, they are sent to login. After providing correct credentials in the login page they are prompted to download the zip file. they sould not be sent to the login page. In the action to generate zip file i haven't abondoned the session or haven't not done anything that abondons the session. the user should not be sen't to login page after successful creation of zip file user should be able to download the file without login. i search internet on this problem, but i did not find any solution. In one of the blog written by hanselman i found this statement that creates the problem with the session: Is some other thing like an Ajax call or IE's Content Advisor simultaneously hitting the default page or login page and causing a race condition that calls Session.Abandon? (It's happened before!) so i thought there might be some problem with ajax call that causes the session to expire, but i don't know what is happening? any help please thanks

  I love TextMate as my editor for all things web, and so I'd like to use a snippet to use it with style.less files to automatically take advantage of the .less way of compiling .css files on the fly using the native $ lessc {filepath} --watch as suggested in the less documentation (link) My (thanks to someone who wrote the LESS TM Bundle!) current TextMate snippet works well for writing the currently opened .less file to the .css file but I'd like to take advantage of the --watch parameter so that every change to the .less file gets automatically compiled into the .css file. This works well when using the Terminal command line for it, so I am sure it must be possible to use it in an adapted version of the current LESS Command for TextMate since that only invokes the command to compile the file. • Fast JSON serialization (and comparison with Pickle) for cluster computing in Python?

  I have a set of data points, each described by a dictionary. The processing of each data point is independent and I submit each one as a separate job to a cluster. Each data point has a unique name, and my cluster submission wrapper simply calls a script that takes a data point's name and a file describing all the data points. That script then accesses the data point from the file and performs the computation. Since each job has to load the set of all points only to retrieve the point to be run, I wanted to optimize this step by serializing the file describing the set of points into an easily retrievable format. I tried using JSONpickle, using the following method, to serialize a dictionary describing all the data points to file: def json_serialize(obj, filename, use_jsonpickle=True): f = open(filename, 'w') if use_jsonpickle: import jsonpickle json_obj = jsonpickle.encode(obj) f.write(json_obj) else: simplejson.dump(obj, f, indent=1) f.close() The dictionary contains very simple objects (lists, strings, floats, etc.) and has a total of 54,000 keys. The json file is ~20 Megabytes in size. It takes ~20 seconds to load this file into memory, which seems very slow to me. I switched to using pickle with the same exact object, and found that it generates a file that's about 7.8 megabytes in size, and can be loaded in ~1-2 seconds. This is a significant improvement, but it still seems like loading of a small object (less than 100,000 entries) should be faster. Aside from that, pickle is not human readable, which was the big advantage of JSON for me. Is there a way to use JSON to get similar or better speed ups? If not, do you have other ideas on structuring this? (Is the right solution to simply "slice" the file describing each event into a separate file and pass that on to the script that runs a data point in a cluster job? It seems like that could lead to a proliferation of files). thanks.

• Django upload failing on request data read error

  Hi All, I've got a Django app that accepts uploads from jQuery uploadify, a jQ plugin that uses flash to upload files and give a progress bar. Files under about 150k work, but bigger files always fail and almost always at around 192k (that's 3 chunks) completed, sometimes at around 160k.   I want MSDeploy to skip specific folders and file types within other folders when using sync. Currently I'm using CCNet to call MSDeploy with the sync verb to take websites from a build to a staging server. Because there are files on the destination that are created by the application / user uploaded files etc, I need to exclude specific folders from being deleted on the destination. Also there are manifest files created by the site that need to remain on the destination.   Hi! I'm building a simple application. It's a user interface to an online order system. Basically, the system is going to work like this: Other companies upload their purchase orders to our FTP server. These orders are simple XML files (containing things like customer data, address information, ordered products and the quantities…) I've built a simple user interface in HTML5, jQuery and CSS — all powered by PHP. PHP reads the content of an order (using the built-in features of SimpleXML) and displays it on the web page. So, it's a web app, supposed to always be running in a browser at the office. The PHP app will display the content of all orders. Every fifteen minutes or so, the app will check for new orders. How do I loop through all XML files in a directory? Right now, my app is able to read the content of a single XML file, and display it in a nice way on the page.   I have a c# program through which i am opening cmd window as a a process. in this command window i am running a batch file. i am redirecting the output of that batch file commands to a Text File. When i run my application everything seems to be ok. But few times, Application is giving some error like "Can't access the file. it's being used by another application" at the same time cmd window is not getting closed. If we close the cmd process through the Task Manager, then it's writing the content to the file and getting closed. Even though i closed the cmd process, still file handle is not getting released. so that i am not able to run the application next time onwards.Always it's saying Can't access the file. Only after restarting the system, it's working. • Problem with python urllib

  I'm getting an error when ever I try to pull down a web page with urllib.urlopen. I've disabled windows firewall and my AV so its not that. I can access the pages in my browser. I even reinstalled python to rule out it being a broken urllib.
