  • Content management recommendations for website?

    Hello I am working on a website that has a wide range of content. (News, FAQs, tutorials, blog, articles, product pages etc.) Currently a lot of this content is static or uses special-purpose scripts. I would like to move most of it under the wing of a single content manager. I have not used out of the box content management software previously so am hoping for some recommendations on what options there are and what might be best suited to a project like this. Whether the manager is open source or commercial, and what language it is written in, are not so important. I can customize the environment as necessary. The most important things are: 1) The ability to manage a wide variety of content. 2) The ability to create highly customized templates for a single page of content or entire category of content. 3) Flexibility. ie The ability to integrate managed content with other pages not controlled by the content manager.     I want to keep track of all items added to uber cart. I.e. Whenever someone clicks ADD TO CART, I want to: create a database entry of the time and item added. This way I can see which items are most clicked on. The logic to add it to a db etc is easy to do. What I need to know is, how do I plug into the "add to cart" part. I.e. How do I know when this has been clicked?

I was able to create menu items at the same time as the nodes, and they appeared in the correct menu, but not in the correct place in the hierarchy. What am I missing?

I've read/watched quite a few theming tutorials but none of them mentioned these files for theming, only the template.php.     I have tables like: 'profile_values' userID | fid | value -------+---------+------- 1 | 3 | [email protected] 1 | 45 | 203-234-2345 3 | 3 | [email protected] 1 | 45 | 123-456-7890 And: 'users' userID | name -------+------- 1 | joe 2 | jane 3 | jake I want to join them and have one row with two of the values like: 'profile_values' userID | name | email | phone -------+-------+----------------+-------------- 1 | joe | [email protected] | 203-234-2345 2 | jane | [email protected] | 123-456-7890 I have solved it but it feels clumsy and I want to know if there is a better way to do it. Meaning solutions that are either more readable or faster(optimized) or simply best-practice. Current solution: multiple tables selected, many conditional statements: SELECT u.userID AS memberid, u.name AS first_name, pv1.value AS fname, pv2.value as lname FROM users AS u, profile_values AS pv1, profile_values AS pv2, WHERE u.userID = pv1.userID AND pv1.fid = 3 AND u.userID = pv2.userID AND pv2.fid = 45; Thanks for the help!

  • Is there a way to rewrite a url to go to a file stored in the filefield of the node

    I have a custom content-type called 'document' On this content-type, I have a File field where a user can upload a document. Assume the path to a document node is /somesite/document/tester I would like to be able to link to /somesite/document/tester/file and it automatically go to the file that is uploaded to the file field of the node. I have tried the url_alter module and am able to get the correct url of the document but when it tries to go there, it says not found. It seems that my redirection is still trying to be rewritten with pathauto or something. Ulitamtely, we want to have a consistent url for these documents so that a user can upload a replacement document and we can still use the same urls. Any ideas?

  • Is it possible to have anonymous purchases with ubercart without the creation of a new user account?

    I would like to be able to have anonymous users purchase a product but not have a new account created when they purchase it. Unfortunately the creation of a new user seems to be very tightly integrated into ubercart's ordering system. And, because the order module is part of the ubercart core, it's behavior cannot be overridden easily. One possibility for overriding is the creation of a new user account by supplying ubercart with an bogus anonymous account: hook into hook_form_alter at $form_id == 'uc_cart_checkout_review_form' because this is where ubercart first associates the $order to an uid. Add our submit function to the queue: //Find out if the user is anonymous: global $user; if ($user->uid == 0 ) { //Load a previously created anonymous user account $anonymous_user = mymodule_get_anonymous_user(); //create the order and assign our anonymous_user_id to it $order = uc_order_load($_SESSION['cart_order']); $order->uid = $anonymous_user->uid; uc_order_save($order); //Assign the global user our anonymous user uid $user->uid = $anonymous_user->uid; } But what I really need is to be able to have an anonymous purchase without being forced to create a new account, this solution does not work for me. Apart from which, using this technique will automatically login the anonymous_user into our bogus_anonymous_user account. Which is definitely something I don't want. Is there a better non-duct-tape way around the creation of a new user account for anonymous purchases in ubercart?. AND FYI - at this point I'm kind of stuck with ubercart so I cannot use something else. Thanks! D

How would I go about doing this? I believe that I'm going to have to check the elements by class of this $custom parameter. However, I have no idea how to go about doing this.

    I'm using Eclipse to write php and naturally I get color coding like all IDEs do. How do I get the same effect in a blog? See this example (scroll down to see the code colors), he has full colors, green, red, blue, pretty acceptable I'd say http://www.tellinya.com/read/2007/06/15/20.html Is there something that's standalone PHP that can achieve this, or do I need a plugin and install a CMS?   • Simulated click on "add more value" button of multi value cck field causes whole content form to sub

    Hi I have a multi value cck field in my cck content type. I want to simulate click on "add another item" using jquery. which is like $('#edit-field-supp-quan-field-supp-quan-add-more').trigger('click'); but it causes whole content form to submit instead of adding extra multi value cck field. Manuall clicks are working perfectly.   • How do you make an image opened in colorbox scrollable

    I would like my images that I open in colorbox to be displayed fullsize with no resizing applied to them and then apply scrollbars to allow for viewing the larger images. Some of my images are quite tall and things get pixelated when resized down. Currently colorbox just resizes my images down to the size of the available height/width. Is there a way to make all images display fullsize with overflow scrollable in colorbox?     Hi, i have just succesfully installed open atrium, but i can't find the configuration of the mailserver... i currently cant send any mails because there is no SMTP Server defined, an without mails being send, no new users can be registered, because they recieve their pasword via mail... i hope that somebody can help me :)
