  • Binding Generic List Array to GridView

    Hi I have a List which returns an array of "Question". My question is how can I bind this to a grid view? When I try to call Question.Ordinal I get that it does not exist in the data source. I am using the following code: GridView1.DataSource = myList.GetQ(); GrdiView1.DataBind(); myList.GetQ() returns a List which is an array of "Question". When I set the column DataField to "!" I get the object Question. My question is how can I get the objects property? I tried "!.Ordinal" does not work. I was reading this post for reference, here, any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Sorry for the lame example, but hopefully you get the idea. Is there a way to constrain the enum values that PeelFruit will accept? Obvisouly I could check them in the method with a switch or something, but it would be cool if there was a way to do it that is a) a bit more compact, and b) would cause a compile time error, not a run time error.     I'm trying to pass an ID of an activity (RefNum) to a Sub in my codebehind. I know I'm supposed to use parentheses when passing parameters to subroutines and methods, and I've tried a number of ways and keep receiving the following error: BC30203: Identifier expected.     I am trying to: 1) create a dynamic property 2) bind that property to a label This works great for "sealed properties", but for dynamic properties there doesn't appear to be any event triggered. Are dynamic properties implicityly not bindable? var myObj:MyType = new MyType(); // MyType is dynamic myObj["myDynamicPropertyName"] = "initialized"; BindingUtils.bindProperty(myLabel, "data", myObj, repeatedLabel.name); // myLabel now displays "initialized" myObj["myDynamicPropertyName"] = "changed"; // myLabel still displays "initialized", it should say "changed" !!!

  • Parameter Tuning for Perceptron Learning Algorithm

    Hi, I'm having sort of an issue trying to figure out how to tune the parameters for my perceptron algorithm so that it performs relatively well on unseen data. I've implemented a verified working perceptron algorithm and I'd like to figure out a method by which I can tune the numbers of iterations and the learning rate of the perceptron. These are the two parameters I'm interested in. I know that the learning rate of the perceptron doesn't affect whether or not the algorithm converges and completes. I'm trying to grasp how to change n. Too fast and it'll swing around a lot, and too low and it'll take longer. As for the number of iterations, I'm not entirely sure how to determine an ideal number. In any case, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • NetBeans parameter fill after code completion

    This is a particularly annoying problem I'm having, and I can't be the only one to have issue with it. In NetBeans, when you type part of a method, then hit CTRL-SPACE, it displays the code-completion popup, whereupon you can hit tab to finish out the word. This is great, and pretty much how all IDE's operate. Example: Thread.sl < CTRL-SPACE Thread.sleep Yay! Problem is that in this context, once you type in a paren, it auto-fills the parameters for the method with their default names, and inserts a closing paren (regardless of whether you have disabled the option to automatically close them on the preferences page for code completion). This behavior is NOT present if you had manually typed out the full name. How is this helpful to anyone? You've got to type over it your actual variable that you will be passing, and NetBeans gives you no option to prevent the closing paren on code-completion. Does anyone have a way to solve this issue, without having to dive into the netbeans source and build it just for this minor of an issue?

    In Scala v 2.7.7 I have a file with class Something[T] extends Other { } object Something extends OtherConstructor[Something] { } This throws the error: class Something takes type parameters object Something extends OtherConstructor[Something] { However, I can't do this object Something[T] extends OtherConstructor[Something[T]] { } It throws an error: error: ';' expected but '[' found. Is it possible to send type parameters to object? Or should I change and simply use Otherconstructor

    Is it a common pattern/idiom to use free functions as pseudo-constructors to avoid having to explicitly specify template parameters? For example, everyone knows about std::make_pair, which uses its parameters to deduce the pair types: template <class A, class B> std::pair<A, B> make_pair(A a, B b) { return std::pair<A, B>(a, b); } // This allows you to call make_pair(1, 2), // instead of having to type pair<int, int>(1, 2) // as you can't get type deduction from the constructor. I find myself using this quite often, so I was just wondering if many other people use it, and if there is a name for this pattern?

  • Unable to add Solution to TFS 2010 due to existing (invisible)binding

    I have a smallish utility library I made that I had created in TFS Beta 2 to test out TFS. I now have TFS rc1 installed(and Beta 2 uninstalled) and am trying to add my Solution to TFS. I get an error saying that it is already bound to my old TFS, which was on a different system then this one. Strangely, when I go into Source Control and look at the bindings it says there aren't any. Also, I manually deleted the .vss and .vsc files and it still does it. Ideas? I looked through the numerous other SO topics related to this but unless I missed one none of them are dealing with my issue. Ideas?

The ControlRegistration-Class will cycle through the list of registered controls and check if a control has a registered event and then attach the eventhandler, something like: ... My problem is that i am identifying the event by a string Public Sub RegisterEvent(ByVal eventName As String, ByVal handler As [Delegate]) ... ... cr.RegisterEvent("Focus",New EventHandler(AddressOf MyFocusHandler)) I don't want to depend on the name of the event, since it is possibly that the name changes, and then things will break up.     Hello I have a number of rich:inplaceInput tags in RichFaces which represent numbers in an array. The validator allows integers only. When a user clicks in an input and changes a value, how can I get the bean to sort the array given the new number and reRender the list of rich:inplaceInput tags so that they're in numerical order? EG <a4j:region> <rich:dataTable value="#{MyBacking.config}" var="feed" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%" border="0" columns="5" id="Admin"> ... <a4j:repeat... <a4j:region id="MsgCon"> <rich:inplaceInput value="#{h.id}" validator="#{MyBacking.validateID}" id="andID" showControls="true"> <a4j:support event="onviewactivated" action="#{MyBacking.sort}" reRender="Admin" /> </rich:inplaceInput> </a4j:region> </a4j:repeat> </data:Table> </a4j:region> Note I do NOT want to use dataTable sort functions. The table is complicated and I've specified id="Admin" (ie the whole table) to reRender as I've not found a way to send more localised values to the backing bean through the inplaceInput. This question is about how to use a4j:support action attribute to call the sort method so that when the reRender rerenders the component, it outputs the list in sorted order. I have the sort method working ok when I click a button to sort, but I want to have the list sorted automatically as soon as a new valid value is entered into the inplaceInput component. Thanks

  • jndi binding on jboss4.2.3 and ejb3

    I am trying to deploy a stateless ejb on jboss 4.2.3 using ejb3 annotations. Everything builds and deploys correctly, and I do not get any errors when jboss starts up. However the ejb is not getting bound to any JNDI location for lookup when I look at the bindings in jboss. Below is what I have for my ejb. Remote @Remote public interface TestWebService { public String TestWebMethod(String param1, String param2); } Stateless EJB @Stateless @RemoteBinding(jndiBinding="TestWeb") @Remote(TestWebService.class) public class TestWebServiceBean implements TestWebService{ public String TestWebMethod(String param1, String param2) { System.out.println("HELLO "+param1+" "+param2); return "Welcome!!"; } } I have tried not having the @Remote and @RemoteBinding and it doesn't make a difference. I have also added and ejb-jar.xml file (which should not be needed with ejb3) and that does not appear to make a difference.     I have a WSDL with various portTypes. Some of the contain only output <operation name="getServerTimeZone"> <output message="s0:getServerTimeZoneSoapOut"/> </operation> I would expect that the correct should be: <operation name="getServerTimeZone"> <input message="s0:getServerTimeZoneSoapIn"/> <output message="s0:getServerTimeZoneSoapOut"/> </operation> The problem is that when I am trying to create stubs from the WSDL using gsoap wsdl2h parser I got the following error: No wsdl:definitions/portType/operation/input I haven't tested with other tools (ie WSDL2Java). My question: Is it valid to have a portType with no input? I am using AltovaXML Spy and this WSDL passes the validation.... Is there any meaning having WSDL operation with no input? (I am not talking about One-Way Message Passing, where you can have input but no output - this is valid).

    I am trying to write a database script (SQL SERVER 2008) which will copy information from database tables on one server to corresponding tables in another database on a different server. I have read that the correct way to do this is to use a sql statement in a format similar to the following: INSERT INTO <linked_server>.<database>.<owner>.<table_name> SELECT * FROM <linked_server>.<database>.<owner>.<table_name> As there will be several tables being copied, I would like to declare variables at the top of the script to allow the user to specify the names of each server and database that are to be used. These could then be used throughout the script. However, I am not sure how to use the variable values in the actual SQL statements. What I want to achieve is something like the following: DECLARE @SERVER_FROM AS NVARCHAR(50) = 'ServerFrom' DECLARE @DATABASE_FROM AS NVARCHAR(50) = 'DatabaseTo' DECLARE @SERVER_TO AS NVARCHAR(50) = 'ServerTo' DECLARE @DATABASE_TO AS NVARCHAR(50) = 'DatabaseTo' INSERT INTO @SERVER_TO.@DATABASE_TO.dbo.TableName SELECT * FROM @SERVER_FROM.@DATABASE_FROM.dbo.TableName ... How should I use the @ variables in this code in order for it to work correctly? Additionally, do you think my method above is correct for what I am trying to achieve and should I be using NVARCHAR(50) as my variable type or something else? Thanks
