  • Trying to draw a Rectangle to a Custom Container in Flex4/AS3

    - by Parris
    So below is the code I have so far. For now I simply want to make it draw a square and have it show up. Right now when I click the area defined in MXML as <components:PaintArea width="100%" height="100%" id="paint-a"></PaintArea> it shows nothing; however, the actionlistener is getting triggered and an element is being added to the group. Not sure exactly what is going on... perhaps for some reason it doesn't think the element is drawable? Anyways thanks for the help! public class PaintArea extends SkinnableContainer { private var canvas:Group; public function PaintArea() { super(); canvas = new Group(); canvas.clipAndEnableScrolling = true; canvas.percentHeight = 100; canvas.percentWidth = 100; canvas.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,drawRectangle); this.addElement(canvas); } private function drawRectangle(e:MouseEvent):void{ var r:Rect = new Rect(); r.fill = new SolidColor(0x00ff00,.5); canvas.addElement(r); } }

  • Running a Java program with a .dll from Adobe AIR's native process

    - by Donny
I would like to be able to operate a scanner from my AIR application. Since there's no support for this natively, I'm trying to use the NativeProcess class to start a jar file that can run the scanner. The Java code is using the JTwain library to operate the scanner. The Java application runs fine by itself, and the AIR application can start and communicate with the Java application. The problem seems to be that any time I attempt to use a function from JTwain (which relies on the JTwain.dll), the application dies IF AIR STARTED IT. I'm not sure if there's some limit about referencing dll files from the native process or what. I've included my code below Java code- while(true) { try { System.out.println("Start"); text = in.readLine(); Source source = SourceManager.instance().getCurrentSource(); System.out.println("Java says: "+ text); } catch (IOException e) { System.err.println("Exception while reading the input. " + e); } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("Other exception occured: " + e.toString()); } finally { } } } Air application- import mx.events.FlexEvent; private var nativeProcess:NativeProcess; private var npInfo:NativeProcessStartupInfo; private var processBuffer:ByteArray; private var bLength:int = 0; protected function windowedapplication1_applicationCompleteHandler(event:FlexEvent):void { var arg:Vector.<String> = new Vector.<String>; arg.push("-jar"); arg.push(File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath("Hello2.jar").nativePath); processBuffer = new ByteArray; npInfo = new NativeProcessStartupInfo; npInfo.executable = new File("C:/Program Files/Java/jre6/bin/javaw.exe"); npInfo.arguments = arg; nativeProcess = new NativeProcess; nativeProcess.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.STANDARD_OUTPUT_DATA, onStandardOutputData); nativeProcess.start(npInfo); } private function onStandardOutputData(e:ProgressEvent):void { tArea.text += nativeProcess.standardOutput.readUTFBytes(nativeProcess.standardOutput.bytesAvailable); } protected function button1_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { tArea.text += 'AIR app: '+tInput.text + '\n'; nativeProcess.standardInput.writeMultiByte(tInput.text + "\n", 'utf-8'); tInput.text = ''; } protected function windowedapplication1_closeHandler(event:Event):void { nativeProcess.closeInput(); } ]]> </fx:Script> <s:Button label="Send" x="221" y="11" click="button1_clickHandler(event)"/> <s:TextInput id="tInput" x="10" y="10" width="203"/> <s:TextArea id="tArea" x="10" width="282" height="88" top="40"/> I would love some explanation about why this is dying. I've done enough testing that I know absolutely that the line that kills it is the SourceManager.instance().getCurrentSource(). I would love any suggestions. Thanks.

  • How to use Blazeds with a custom classloader?

    - by festerwim
Hi, has anybody tried using a custom classloader with BlazeDS? We have a web application using BlazeDS and we can convert Java objects in to ActionScript object and back without problems in the main application. However, we also have a plug-in mechanism based on a custom classloader. BlazeDS cannot map the types contained in jar files of that custom classloader since I don't know how to tell it to BlazeDS. Has anybody already done this? The livedocs of TypeMarshallingcontext show a setClassloader() method, but since the context seems to be a singleton, I assume this will not work if you have multiple custom classloaders (we have 1 for each plugin that is deployed) regards, Wim

  • flex 3 using nested repeaters

    - by ccdugga
I'm trying to loop through a row of an arraycollection using nested repeater; <mx:Repeater id="rp1" dataProvider="{arrayCollection}"> <mx:Repeater id="rp2" dataProvider="{rp1.currentItem}"> <mx:Button height="49" width="50" label="{rp2.currentItem.name}" /> </mx:Repeater> </mx:Repeater> What im trying to do is make the repeater loop through all the attributes in the currentRow, eg. name, age, address etc. At the moment all i do is call rp2.currentItem.name which explicitly calls out the name of the attribute and then the value is returned. Is it possible instead of explicity naming the attribute to just loop through them all and dispplay button for each using the nested repeater?thanks

  • Accessing other windows in Air

    - by Mohamed
Hi, Is there a way to access other active windows in AIR? I want to make an AIR app that look into the active application text and look for a specific pattern and make a transparent window into that text position to create a button. Its a bit like the skype plug-in in Mozilla ... It replaces the telephone number with a button to launch skype.

  • Clear validation on textInput when validation is not enabled

    - by Jon
Hi, I've created a custom textInput componenet that handles it's own validation using a private validator. The validation is enabled depending on the state of the component i.e. validation is enable when the components state is "edit". However, when the state changes from edit the internal validator is set to not enabled but the validation errors on the textbox do not clear - the textInput still has the red border and on mouseover the validation errors come up. What I want to happen is that when a validator is disabled the error formatting and error messages clear from the text input control. Does anyone have any idea how to do this I tried setting the internal validator instance to enabled = false and dispatching a new focusOutEvent as below but the validation error formatting is still applied to the textInput contrl. _validatorInstance.enabled = false; //clear the validation errors if any dispatchEvent(new FocusEvent(FocusEvent.FOCUS_OUT)); Any ideas? Thanks Jon

  • Anyone else unable to listen to uncaughtErrorEvent when loaded by another swf?

    - by aaaidan
When I try to access the uncaughtErrorEvents dispatcher when loaded directly, everything works well. But when I try the same code when loaded by another swf I get a reference error. protected function onAddedToStage(e:Event):void { trace("Flash version: " + Capabilities.version); try { loaderInfo.uncaughtErrorEvents.addEventListener("uncaughtError", onUncaughtError); trace("YAY!"); } catch (e:Error) { trace(e); } } Output when loaded directly (in browser): Flash version: MAC 10,1,53,64 YAY! Output when loaded by another "loader" SWF: Flash version: MAC 10,1,53,64 ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property uncaughtErrorEvents not found on flash.display.LoaderInfo and there is no default value. If others can replicate this I'd be appreciative. EDIT: Also have tried this with stage.loaderInfo, instead of just loaderInfo. Same issue...

  • Alternative to google map api, so that I can use it on a HTTPS/SSL encrypted website.

    - by Zeeshan Rang
    I did find a solution for this on Google map api page, and I made the following changes as mentioned in it. 1.Use Google Maps API for Flash version 1.9a or later. 2.Add the following to your Flash application before the map is instantiated: Security.allowInsecureDomain("maps.googleapis.com"); Ref:http://code.google.com/apis/maps/faq.html#flash_ssl My code looks like this, after the changes: <mx:TitleWindow verticalAlign="middle" horizontalAlign="center" xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" xmlns:maps="com.google.maps.*" width="1000" height="600" layout="absolute" backgroundAlpha="0" borderAlpha="0" borderThickness="0" showCloseButton="true" close="PopUpManager.removePopUp(this);"> <mx:VBox width="70%" height="100%" > <maps:Map id="map" key="ABQIAAAA0L1JEoR6rWjh-BBQnLMtMBSVuZ5VlaqlIqiYPFMK_I5M2UTmHhSq_BJxLHiYcTDW9RxSF6HewNY7uA" mapevent_mapready="onMapReady(event)" width="100%" height="100%" /> </mx:VBox> <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ //import flashx.textLayout.formats.Direction; import mx.effects.AddItemAction; //import flashx.textLayout.factory.TruncationOptions; import mx.controls.Alert; import mx.managers.PopUpManager; import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent; import com.adobe.serialization.json.JSON; import flash.events.Event; import com.google.maps.*; import com.google.maps.overlays.*; import com.google.maps.services.*; import com.google.maps.controls.ZoomControl; import com.google.maps.controls.PositionControl; import com.google.maps.controls.MapTypeControl; import com.google.maps.services.ClientGeocoderOptions; import com.google.maps.LatLng; import com.google.maps.Map; import com.google.maps.MapEvent; import com.google.maps.MapMouseEvent; import com.google.maps.MapType; import com.google.maps.services.ClientGeocoder; import com.google.maps.services.GeocodingEvent; import com.google.maps.overlays.Marker; import com.google.maps.overlays.MarkerOptions; import com.google.maps.InfoWindowOptions; private function onMapReady(event:MapEvent):void { Security.allowInsecureDomain("maps.googleapis.com"); map.setCenter(new LatLng(41.651505,-72.094455), 13, MapType.NORMAL_MAP_TYPE); map.addControl(new ZoomControl()); map.addControl(new PositionControl()); map.addControl(new MapTypeControl()); map.enableScrollWheelZoom(); map.enableContinuousZoom(); } ]]> </mx:Script> </mx:TitleWindow> But i still get the following error using this: The requested URL /mapsapi/publicapi?file=flashapi&url=https%3A%2F%2Fvirtual.c7beta.com%2Findex_cloud.swf&key=ABQIAAAA0L1JEoR6rWjh-BBQnLMtMBTW_Qkp6J0z76Etz3qzo8Hg3HdUQhSnD6lqp53NB0UrBmg5Xm2DlazWqA&v=1.18&flc=xt was not found on this server.   • Flex3 / Air 2: NativeProcess doesn't accepts standard input data (Error #2044 & #3218)

    - by Edward
Hi: I'm trying to open cmd.exe on a new process and pass some code to programatically eject a device; but when trying to do this all I get is: "Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #3218: Error while writing data to NativeProcess.standardInput." Here's my code: private var NP:NativeProcess = new NativeProcess(); private function EjectDevice():void { var RunDLL:File = new File("C:\\Windows\\System32\\cmd.exe"); var NPI:NativeProcessStartupInfo = new NativeProcessStartupInfo(); NPI.executable = RunDLL; NP.start(NPI); NP.addEventListener(Event.STANDARD_OUTPUT_CLOSE, CatchOutput, false, 0, true); NP.standardInput.writeUTFBytes("start C:\\Windows\\System32\\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll"); NP.closeInput(); } I also tried with writeUTF instead of writeUTFBytes, but I still get the error. Does anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong?. Thanks for your time :) Edward.

  • Flex AdvancedDataGrid - ColumnOrder With Formatter and ItemRenderer Question For Experts

    - by robin1126
I have a advanceddatagrid that has around 15 columns. Some are string, some are numbers. I have shown 4 columns below. The number columns have formatting done for zero precision and 2 digits precision. The itemRenderer is just to show Blue Color if the number is +ve and Red Color if the number is -ve. It looks something like below ... I am trying to save the users setting of column order when he closes the application and reload with the same order when the user opens the applications. I am using SharedObjects and below is the code. for(var i:int=0; i< adgrid.columns.length;i++){ var columnObject:Object = new Object(); columnObject.columnDataField = adgrid.columns[i].dataField as String; columnObject.columnHeader =adgrid.columns[i].headerText as String; columnObject.width = adgrid.columns[i].width; columnArray.push(columnObject); } and then I save the columnArray to SharedObject. I retrive them using the below code for(var i:int=0;i adgrid.columns[i].dataField =columnArray[i].columnDataField; adgrid.columns[i].headerText =columnArray[i].columnHeader; adgrid.columns[i].width = columnArray[i].width; } How can I save and reload the Formatter and ItemRenderer data . I am having trouble saving the formatter and itemrenderer and reloading it again. I would really appreciate if you can shown the code. How can I reshuffle the columns but can preserve all the properties of it to the sharedobject and recover it again.

  • UIComponent extended class isn't showing UIComponent extended class

    - by Arno
I have 1 class (that is extending a UIcomponent) that is representing a component. In that component I create different instances of another class that is also a UIComponent but this class doesn't show up in de first class. I see that it is running and that it has the correct hights but I got the feeling that it doesn't show up with this hights. If I trace I see the width and height is 200 X 200 but there is still nothing visible in my component I bet there is a simple solution for this problem?

  • Cross-domain policy issues after redirect in Flash

    - by ggambett
I'm having trouble with a cross-domain policy. I'm using the AS3 Loader to fetch an image; I'm making it load the policy file, like this : var pLoader : Loader = new Loader(); var pContext : LoaderContext = new LoaderContext(); pContext.checkPolicyFile = true; pLoader.load(new URLRequest(sURL), pContext); This works fine as long as the image is directly accessible; however, when the server sends a redirect, the loader follows it but loses the checkPolicyFile flag, resulting in a SecurityException - that is, it doesn't check the cross-domain policy of the redirected URL. I've found a solution here ( http://www.stevensacks.net/2008/12/23/solution-as3-security-error-2122-with-300-redirects ) but looks fragile (that is, looks like it will fail if there's more than one redirect). What would be the correct way of doing this?

  • Rendering MXML component only after actionscript is finished

    - by basicblock
In my mxml file, I'm doing some calculations in the script tag, and binding them to a custom component. <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ [Bindable] public var calc1:Number; [Bindable] public var calc2:Number; private function init():void { calc1 = //calculation; calc2 = //calculation; } ]]> </fx:Script> <mycomp:Ball compfield1="{calc1}" compfield2="{calc2}"/> The problem is that the mxml component is being created before the actionscript is run. So when the component is created, it actually doesn't get calc1 and calc2 and it fails from that point. I know that binding happens after that, but the component and its functions have already started and have run with the null or 0 initial values. My solution was to create the component also in actionscript right after calc1 and calc2 have been created. This way I get to control precisely when it's created <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ [Bindable] public var calc1:Number; [Bindable] public var calc2:Number; private function init():void { calc1 = //calculation; calc2 = //calculation; var Ball:Ball = new Ball(calc1, calc2); } ]]> </fx:Script> but this is creating all kinds of other problems due to the way I've set up the component. Is there a way I can still use mxml to create the component, yet control that it the <myComp:Ball> gets created only after init() is run and calc1 calc2 evaluated?

  • FlexBuilder compiler bug - IWatcherSetupUtil2 et al

    - by Marty Pitt
I'm having a problem with FlashBuilder in what is clearly a compiler bug, but I can't track it down. When my project is compiled inside FlashBuilder, I'm getting the following compiler errors: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: [mx.binding]::IBindingClient Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: [mx.binding]::IWatcherSetup2 Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: [mx.core]::IStateClient2 These errors are reported without a path or location. My project is a flex4 project, moderately complex. It has 6 swc projects, which are referenced within a swf project. (The swf project is the one that's reporting the error). The ANT build script compiles the project fine. The problem exists on more than 1 PC. How do I start tracking down what's causing the problem?
