    Okay guys, this is similar to my repeatEnd and wordEnds efforts; I want to solve this codingBat Warmup-2 question using only regex-based techniques as a "brain gymnastics" exercise. I'm just wondering if others can come up with a simpler, more elegant regex solution for this problem. Preferably one that doesn't contain octo-slashes.

    Is there a way to merge column headers on click of a button but the values in the cell should get appeneded with each other? For instance: 10 15 20 25 30 A B C D E B C D A E 10 20 30 AB CD E BC DA E Actually the value A represents 10-15 B represents 15-20 and so on.Is this possible in JTable? Please don't confuse my earlier question with this.Here we try to merge two column headers not cells at the same time we append the values of the cell.

  • Scheduling Swingworker threads

    Hi, I have a 2 processes to perform in my swing application, one to fill a list, and one to do operations on each element on the list. I've just moved the 2 processes into Swingworker threads to stop the GUI locking up while the tasks are performed, and because I will need to do this set of operations to several lists, so concurrency wouldn't be a bad idea in the first place. However, when I just ran fillList.execute();doStuffToList.execute(); the doStuffToList thread to ran on the empty list (duh...). How do I tell the second process to wait until the first one is done? I suppose I could just nest the second process at the end of the first one, but i dunno, it seems like bad practice.

  • Websphere MQ using JMS, closed connections stuck on the MQ

    I have a simple JMS application deployed on OC4J under AIX server, in my application I'm listening to some queues and sending to other queues on a Websphere MQ deployed under AS400 server. The problem is that my connections to these queues are terminated/closed when it stays idle for some time with the error MQJMS1016 (this is not the problem), and when that happens I attempt to recover the connection and it works, however, the old connection is stuck at the MQ and would not terminate until it is terminated manually.   • LF/CR issue with RS232 in Linux

    I've been having this problem where anytime I send a 0xA through an RS-232 in a Linux OS the receiver interprets that as 2 bytes, 0xD and 0xA. Also whenever I receive 0xD the serial port interprets that as 0xA. I've been reading that there are known issues regarding this, has anybody been able to find a solution?

    Hello Experts, am I allowed (without any sideeffects) to create and start a new Thread() from within a doGet() Method of a servlet? Or does this somehow leak ressources? Is it valid to also pass the "Session" Object into the Thread to later save the result of my asynchronous processing (I will synchronized correctly) in the session? Or will this leak ressources when using the session "in indepedant threads"? = What would happen if the session meanwhile would be expired by the webcontainer as it has timedout and I will access it from my thread? Or would could this also lead to the sideffect, that storing the session in the thread will prevent the webcontainer from expiring the session at all (and therefore finally leak ressources as the sessions do not get cleared up)? (I know there are other Solutions, like working with DB-(Job)Records, JMS or Servlets 3.0) but I need so solve the problem as described by spanning a new Thread within doGet.) Thank you very much!!     Does anyone know of a means to copy a worksheet from one workbook to another using POI? The Workbook class has a cloneSheet method, but there doesn't seem to be able to insert a cloned sheet into a new workbook? If there isn't an API to do this easily, does anyone have the code to copy all of the data (styles, column widths, data, etc) from one sheet to another? The jxls has methods to copy sheets, but they don't work when copying between workbooks.

  • Using Solr and Zends Lucene port together...

    Afternoon chaps, After my adventures with Zend-Lucene-Search, and discovering it isn't all its cracked up to be when indexing large datasets, I've turned to Solr (thanks to Bill Karwin for that :) ) I've got Solr indexing the db far far quicker now, taking just over 8 minutes to index a table of just over 1.7million rows - which I'm very pleased with.     Given an generic interface like interface DomainObjectDAO<T> { T newInstance(); add(T t); remove(T t); T findById(int id); // etc... } I'd like to create a subinterface that specifies the type parameter: interface CustomerDAO extends DomainObjectDAO<Customer> { // customer-specific queries - incidental. } The implementation needs to know the actual template parameter type, but of course type erasure means isn't available at runtime. Is there some annotation that I could include to declare the interface type? Something like @GenericParameter(Customer.class) interface CustomerDAO extends DomainObjectDAO<Customer> { } The implementation could then fetch this annotation from the interface and use it as a substitute for runtime generic type access. Some background: This interface is implemented using JDK dynamic proxies as outlined here. The non-generic version of this interface has been working well, but it would be nicer to use generics and not have to create a subinterface for each domain object type. The actual type is needed at runtime to implement the newInstance method, amongst others.

    Is it possible (and does it make sense) to use the JDO Level 2 Cache for the Google App Engine Datastore? First of all, why is there no documentation about this on Google's pages? Are there some problems with it? Do we need to set up limits to protect our memcache quota? According to DataNucleus on Stackoverflow, you can set the following persistence properties: datanucleus.cache.level2.type=javax.cache datanucleus.cache.level2.cacheName={cache name} Is that all? Can we choose any cache name? Other sources on the Internet report using different settings. Also, it seems we need to download the DataNucleus Cache support plugin. Which version would be appropriate? And do we just place it in WEB-INF/lib or does it need more setup to activate it?

  • How can I hot deploy using the glassfish adapter in Eclipse

    Has anyone gotten the glassfish v3 adapter to work with Eclipse without restarting every time there's a code change? I tried to set this up but the adapter "republishes" every time I change any file, which is very annoying. It takes up to 3 minutes and locks up my machine for a second. I must remember to constantly stop the adapter before making any changes. I'd settle for just disabling this "feature", but even if I uncheck "publish change immediately" this behavior still happens. I'm using the latest version of the glassfish adapter and tried with eclipse 3.5 and the 3.6 milestone builds.... What setup is everyone using if you have glassfish v3 as your server? Is there any way to actually get the hot deploy feature to work correctly?

UserExistCheck is executed as desired before the call is passed to Klazz. The problem is that this is the only way I got it working. To get this working by using annotations instead of the context file seems to be just too much for my small brain. So... how exactly should I annotate the methods in UserExistsCheck and Klazz? And do I still need something else too? Another class? Still something in the context file?

  • Blackberry: How to properly handle focus traversal in custom field?

    I am writing an app for Blackberry and I have the following problem: I have implemented a custom field by extending the Manager class. The field is quite simple, it consists of a label and two check boxes, yes and no. The fields are laid out so that the label is on the left and uses as much space as it can while still allowing room for the check boxes which are positioned next to each other at the right and vertically centred compared to the label (if it spans more than one line). So it looks like this: This is a question? O Yes O No Everything is fine so far in terms of laying out the fields. But now I am trying to handle focus traversal. First of all the default behaviour when the user scrolls up or down is to move between the yes and no options. I want to move to the next field above or below when up or down is pressed, so I did this: protected int moveFocus(int amount, int status, int time) { if (status == 537001984 || status == -1610481664) { // Up or down was pressed // Don't move focus between yes and no when up or down is pressed. return amount; } return super.moveFocus(amount, status, time); } And that seems to work. The next thing I would like to do is to remember which option last had the focus when the field loses focus, then on gaining focus again (regardless of which direction the focus comes from) set this field to have the focus. I tried overriding onUnfocus and onFocus so that onUnfocus I note which field was focussed then onFocus setFocus to that field. But I get a StackOverflowError, I guess because the call to setFocus on a field within the manager actually calls onFocus for the manager itself again?? So does anyone know how I should be doing this? I checked the DateField and it has the exact behaviour I am looking for, i.e. it remembers if you were last on the day, month or year field and sets this field to focus when the field itself gets the focus.

    There is two template in my .stg file, and both of them apply on multi-value a HashMap. The HashMap is employed as an injected object. And I need those instance of HashMap can be injected for many times. My trouble is, when I switch to another template, ANTLR seems to consider the second HashMap as a List -- multipul objects and null value. NULL foo: NULL . NULL bar: @ bar: @ If we replace BAR with FOO, as is, keeping FOO and BAR with identical template, the output is right, like the following. bar: Russell @ German bar: Russell @ German In docs, "synchronized ST add (String name, Object value) in org.stringtemplate.v4.ST" said: "If you send in a List and then inject a single value element, add() copies original list and adds the new value."   • Generating a Call Hierarchy for dynamicly invoked method

    Hello, Today's world of dynamic invoke, reflection and runtime injection just doesn't play well with traditional tools such as ctags, doxygen and CDOC. I am searching for a method call hierarchy visualization tool that can display both static and dynamic method invocations. It should be easy to use, light during execution and provide helpful detailed information about the recorded runtime session. Now I guess Callgrind could be considered a valid solution for the family C. What tool / technique could you suggest to create a call graph for both static and dynamic method invocation for JVM based bytecode? The intended end result is a graphical display (preferably interactive) which can show path from main() to each method that was invoked. During research for this post I stumbled upon javashot, it seems that this is the kind of approach I'm aiming at, I would prefer that this would be integrated into a kind of profiler or alike which than can be used from within my IDE (Eclipse, IntelliJ, Netbeans and alike).
