  • Dynamic classloading fails on runtime

    I have the following snippet of java code: final Class<?> junitCoreClass = AccessController.doPrivileged( new PrivilegedAction<URLClassLoader>() { @Override public URLClassLoader run() { return new URLClassLoader(new URL[] { junitJarUrl }); } }).loadClass("org.junit.runner.JUnitCore"); System.out.println(junitCoreClass.getName()); final JUnitCore junitCore = (JUnitCore) junitCoreClass.newInstance(); This compiles fine. But when I try to run it, something weird happens; a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError is thrown on that last line, referring to the class just loaded. The weird part is, the println prints the exact class name. I checked that if I keep the reference as an Object and manipulate it only through reflection, everything's fine, so the offending piece of code must be the explicit cast. Can someone explain to me why this happens, and also tell me how I can achieve what I'm trying to do?

I set up everything according to http://wcfextras.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=HowToUse&referringTitle=Home My WCF client works but throws NullReferenceException on both: client.InnerChannel.SetHeader("myHeader", new local.Header()); and var header = client.InnerChannel.GetHeader<local.Header>("myHeader"); I wonder if web.config element <wsdlExtensions location="noidea" singleFile="True"/> might cause a problem because I don't know what type in location attribute. I simply tried to type service address but it didn't fix anything.

    I have a simple application to store address details and edit them. I have been away from VB for a few years now and need to refreash my knowledge while working to a tight deadline. I have a general Sub responsible for displaying a form where user can add contact details (by pressing button add) and edit them (by pressing button edit). This sub is stored in a class Contact. The way it is supposed to work is that there is a list with all the contacts and when new contact is added a new entry is displayed. If user wants to edit given entry he or she selects it and presses edit button Public Sub Display() Dim C As New Contact C.Cont = InputBox("Enter a title for this contact.") C.Fname = frmAddCont.txtFName.Text C.Surname = frmAddCont.txtSName.Text C.Address = frmAddCont.txtAddress.Text frmStart.lstContact.Items.Add(C.Cont.ToString) End Sub I call it from the form responsible for adding new contacts by Dim C As New Contact C.Display() and it works just fine. However when I try to do something similar using the edit button I get errors - "Unable to cast object of type 'System.String' to type 'AddressBook.Contact'." Dim C As Contact If lstContact.SelectedItem IsNot Nothing Then C = lstContact.SelectedItem() C.Display() End If I think it may be something simple however I wasn't able to fix it and given short time I have I decided to ask for help here.   • Should I use custom exceptions to control the flow of application?

    Is it a good practise to use custom business exceptions (e.g. BusinessRuleViolationException) to control the flow of user-errors/user-incorrect-inputs??? The classic approach: I have a web service, where I have 2 methods, one is the 'checker' (UsernameAlreadyExists()) and the other one is 'creator' (CreateUsername())... So if I want to create a username, I have to do 2 roundtrips to webservice, 1.check, 2.if check is OK, create. What about using UsernameAlreadyExistsException? So I call only the 2. web service method (CrateUsername()), which contains the check and if not successfull, it throws the UsernameAlreadyExistsException. So the end goal is to have only one round trip to web service and the checking can be contained also in other web service methods (so I avoid calling the UsernameAlreadyExists() all the times..). Furthermore I can use this kind of business error handling with other web service calls completely avoiding the checking prior the call.

    I have an Java method I want to call within my Jython servlet running on tomcat5. What other argument could it be looking for?

Therefore, I spent some time with CLtL and other references trying to determine how to write a restart handler. (defun http-request (url param) (handler-bind ((USOCKET:UNSUPPORTED #'(lambda (x) (invoke-restart 'continue))))) (drakma:http-request url :method :post :parameters param)) According to my best understanding, the above code should trap the error USOCKET:UNSUPPORTED. It doesn't; it seems to ignore the error binder. How do I fix this?

    I have a problem with open files under my Ubuntu 9.10 when running server in Python2.6 And main problem is that, that i don't know why it so.. I have set ulimit -n = 999999 net.core.somaxconn = 999999 fs.file-max = 999999 and lsof gives me about 12000 open files when server is running. And also i'm using epoll. But after some time it's start giving exeption: File "/usr/lib/python2.6/socket.py", line 195, in accept error: [Errno 24] Too many open files And i don't know how it can reach file limit when it isn't reached.   • C ] How can I handle weird errors from calculating acos / sin / atan2?

    Has anyone seen this weird value while handling sin / cos/ tan / acos.. math stuff? ===THE WEIRD VALUE=== -1.#IND00 ===================== void inverse_pos(double x, double y, double& theta_one, double& theta_two) { // Assume that L1 = 350 and L2 = 250 double B = sqrt(x*x + y*y); double angle_beta = atan2(y, x); double angle_alpha = acos((L2*L2 - B*B - L1*L1) / (-2*B*L1)); theta_one = angle_beta + angle_alpha; theta_two = atan2((y-L1*sin(theta_one)), (x-L1*cos(theta_one))); } This is the code I was working on. In a particular condition - like when x & y are 10 & 10, this code stores -1.#IND00 into theta_one & theta_two. It doesn't look like either characters or numbers :( Without a doubt, atan2 / acos / stuff are the problems. But the problem is, try and catch doesn't work either cuz those double variables have successfully stored some values in them. Moreover, the following calculations never complain about it and never break the program! I'm thinking of forcing to use this value somehow and make the entire program crash... So that I can catch this error.. Except for that idea, I have no idea how I should check whether these theta_one and theta_two variables have stored this crazy values. Any good ideas?     Hi all, From a security standpoint, what is the best solution to handle application errors with Websphere? I've been thinking of creating a class that is called every time an application error is generated, log the error and display a generic error message to the users. In PHP this can be achieved using the set_exception_handler() function. Is there something similar for websphere that could be configured in the web.xml? I've found codes like this on the internet: <error-page> <error-code>500</error-code> <location>/servlet/ExceptionHandlerServlet</location> </error-page> But that would only work with "500" HTTP error codes. I really want something generic that catches everything. Something like a class that implements a certain interface which can have access to all information about the error. Thanks for your time.

  • Log RuntimeException thrown from thread created by Spring via the @Async annotation

    I'm having some difficulty logging RuntimeException from a thread. My system is: Java 7 (b118), Spring 3.0.5. The threads are not created by hand, but via Spring's @Async annotation, which creates it's own executor behind the scenes, so I don't really have the option of overriding any methods of the thread, FutureTask or anything low level. So my question is if Spring has any support or if there are any best practices for handling (logging) these type of exceptions? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

  • SystemIO Exception when opening RFCOMM in Mono

    I have a Mono application which opens a RFCOMM connection (/dev/rfcomm0) but when I run as a user, I get a System.IO.IOException Interrupted system call. I'm running this on openSUSE 11.2. If I run the application under sudo, it works fine. I have added the dialup group to my user account so I'm not getting a permission denied error. I'm not sure if this is a Mono serial comms question or a permissions question for ServerFault.

    There are many files in our project that would call a Facebook api. And the call is complicated, spanning usually 8 lines or more, just for the argument values. In this case, we can make it into a function, and place that function in a common_library.php, but doing so would just change the name of the function call from the Facebook API function to our name, and we still need to repeat the 8 lines of arguments. Each time, the call is very similar, but with slight variations to the argument values. In that case, would copy and paste be needed no matter what we do?

    Hi, I am trying to call an Activity from another instance of the activity. The code is supposed to be a simple file browser (part of a larger application). I am using a ListActivity, and when an item (such as a folder) is selected, it is supposed to open it up in the new Activity.     Could you give a bullet list of practical differences/implication? I read relevant MSDN article, but my understanding asynchronous exceptions is still a bit hazy. I am writing a test suite using Boost.Test and my compiler emits a warning that EHa should be enabled: warning C4535: calling _set_se_translator() requires /EHa The project itself uses only plain exceptions (from STL) and doesn't need /EHa switch. Do I have to recompile it with /EHa switch to make the test suite work properly? My feeling is that I need /EHa for the test suit only. Thank you and happy new year.

  • ASP.Net MVC null reference exception with TextArea name

    Hello, I have a TextArea html helper method I'm calling in a foreach loop. Basically, when I initially load the View it works fine, but when i reload the View and load postback data, the same TextArea throws a NullReferencException and yet the variable I'm using in the TextArea as the name of the TextArea is not null. I've attached a picture below for demonstration: Sorry if it's difficult to see, the blue arrow below is pointing to the variable used to name the TextArea. Again, it works on initial load, but it errors out on postback when the page is reloaded. I'm not sure what's going on.
