• Problems with mailenable when sending to yahoo

  I m testing sending emails from mailenable webmail. I have no problems sending mail to gmail or hotmail, both work fine, but yahoo mail shows the attachment icon for the message even though the message doesn't contain any attachments, it's just plain text. It only includes a reply to a previous message, like this: message text ----- Original Message ----- original message text I copied the message content and sent it from gmail to yahoo and the attachment icon didn't show which makes me believe it's something with mailenable. What could possibly be wrong? Also, is there a white list for yahoo mail that I can join? And also for other popular webmail? I'm going to use this on a production website (site visitors use the contact us form to send messages to the site - the mail enable server running on the same machine as the web server - then I check the messages using the mailenable webmail and reply them). This is really important to me, your help would be really appreciated ...

• Which tool / technology: System management for databases and dependent services

  I'm looking for advice on how to enable our team to take down and re-start our company systems for maintainance purposes. The scenario includes several Oracle db machines several MS SQL Server machines with multiple instances windows services (IIS etc.) BizTalk EAI solution Apache and Tomcat instances lots of scheduled tasks on win2003 and win2008 machines (physical and virtual). The main focus is on capture all dependencies between said databases and services and tasks connecting to them. At the moment an enterprise class solution is not an option. We are considering developing a solution driven by PowerShell scripts but I hope for some more suggestions.

• xsl:include fails after upgrading PHP version; is libxml/libxslt version mismatch the issue?

  I'm running Windows XP with the precompiled PHP binaries available from windows.php.net. I upgraded from PHP 5.2.5 to PHP 5.2.16, and now the xsl:includes in some of my stylesheets stopped working. Testing each version in succession, I discovered that it worked up through 5.2.8 and does not work in 5.2.9+. I now get the following three errors for each xsl:include. Warning: XSLTProcessor::importStylesheet() [xsltprocessor.importstylesheet]: I/O warning : failed to load external entity "file%3A/C%3A/path/to/included/stylesheet.xsl" in ... on line 227 Warning: XSLTProcessor::importStylesheet() [xsltprocessor.importstylesheet]: compilation error: file file%3A//C%3A/path/to/included/stylesheet.xsl line 36 element include in ... on line 227 Warning: XSLTProcessor::importStylesheet() [xsltprocessor.importstylesheet]: xsl:include : unable to load file%3A/C%3A/path/to/included/stylesheet.xsl in ... on line 227 I presume this is because it cannot find the specified file. Many of the includes are in the same directory as the stylesheet being transformed and have no directory in the path, i.e. <xsl:include href="fileInSameDir.xsl">. Interestingly, in the first and third errors, it is displaying the file:// protocol with only one slash instead of the correct two. I'm guessing that's the problem. (When I hard-code a full path using "file:/" it fails, but when I hard-code a full path with "file://" it works.) But what could cause that? A bug in libxslt/libxml? I also found an apparent version mismatch between libxml and the version of libxml that libxslt was compiled against. 5.2.5 libxml Version = 2.6.26 libxslt compiled against libxml Version = 2.6.26 5.2.8 libxml Version = 2.6.32 libxslt compiled against libxml Version = 2.6.32 === it breaks in versions starting at 5.2.9 === 5.2.9 libxml Version = 2.7.3 libxslt compiled against libxml Version = 2.6.32 5.2.16 libxml Version = 2.7.7 libxslt compiled against libxml Version = 2.6.32 Up until PHP 5.2.9, libxslt was compiled against the same version of libxml that was included with PHP. But starting with PHP 5.2.9, libxslt was compiled against an older version of libxml than that which was included with PHP. Is this a problem with the distributed binaries or just a coincidence? To test this, I imagine PHP could be built with different versions of libxml/libxslt to see which combinations work or don't. Unfortunately, I'm out of my element in a Windows world, and building PHP on Windows seems over my head. Regrettably, I've been thus far unable to reproduce this problem with an example outside my app, so I'm struggling to narrow it down and can't submit a specific bug. So, do you think it is caused by a version mismatch problem in the distributed binaries? a bug introduced in PHP 5.2.9? a bug introduced in libxml 2.7? something else? I'm stumped. Any thoughts that could point me in the right direction are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

• Full Uninstall winvnc.exe

  This computer (Windows 7) has not been able to run Windows Aero after I installed some VNC software, UltraVNC and TightVNC. I want to get Aero back, and Microsoft Fix It tells me that it can't be turned on because of mirror drivers (this edition includes Aero, and I had it working well before), which I managed to learn can come from winvnc.exe, which is installed by both programs. I would like to uninstall winvnc.exe and the service from this computer. I messed with the command line a little (I know, I aws being careful), but I couldn't get anywhere, I'm a total beginner with the command line. Can someone please help me remove the exe file and the service, so the mirror drivers are disabled and I can use Aero again? I don't need the VNC servers (I couldn't get them to work anyway), but if keeping the clients is possible that would be nice.

• Typing Accent Marker in Hebrew on Mac

  I'm learning ancient Hebrew and wanted to make a document full of the vocabulary words I need to memorize so that I can study during my other classes. I noticed that OSX's built-in Hebrew fonts do not include the accent marker. An example: the word for "darkness" is ??????. To represent that the accent is on the first syllable, there needs to be a < over the first letter. The accent could be in the middle of the word, so I can't just throw < at the front every time. Does anyone have a free font that includes this? Any other elegant solutions are welcome. Edit: I found that it is unicode character 05AB. Is there a way to add that to the built-in Hebrew fonts?

• Uninstall or Disable Dell Wave

  The image we put on our company laptops includes the Dell Wave interface for Biometric log in. The Wave UI increases boot time by about 5 minutes (because it loads the fingerprint database(a feature I don't use)), so I'm trying to uninstall it, but with little success. There is no line-item in the Add/Remove Programs menu to formally delete it, nor is there a Service I can stop/remove to disable the Wave UI. I've tried looking online, but all I find instead are hits for Google Wave and virus-removal forums with HyjackThis dumps that include Dell Wave records. Any ideas? Edit: Removal isn't entirely necessary. Disabling the Wave UI is good enough.

• CentOS Vs Windows Server 2008

  Hi, Apologies if the question appears ambiguous, I have little experience in this area and was after some informed opinions. I am deploying a test scenario of a server/client network and need to make some choices for Server. The client will be a Windows system as it meets the requirements for the client, the server choice has more room for selection. From my experience with Linux in general and the appealing nature of open source for low cost, security etc and the availability and performance of database and web server programs I have been considering CentOS as a server choice. I have the ability to make most of the choices of what software / server packages I wish to install. This includes Active Directory (something I have no experience with). How well does this operate with Windows clients? Am I being too selective and creating unnecessary complication by setting out not to use a Windows Server OS?

  Hi all I'm working on a GMaps application to retrieve images, via getJSON(), and to populate a popup marker. I then moved the images outside and sure as Bob (Hope), the images were being retrieved and refreshed with every click. So, I decided to the keep the images outside and then once loaded, append it to the CampWindow . It's not working still; when I append the div to the main CampWindow div, the images won't show. I check in Firebug with the pointer thingy and it shows me the images as empty. I try it again with the images outside and it shows the images. I've tried before append and appendTo with no success. Am I missing something here? I have no more woohoo to claw out. The problem with steganography is that the images are sourced from an image cache, and so recreating that cache with watermarked images will impart a delay when generating the PDF (I could just delete one image from the cache, but that's not an elegant solution). • Why do partially failed/failing switches fail to pass DHCP?

  I've noticed this several times: a switch starts to behave oddly. Usually if the switch doesn't fail outright, what tends to get noticed is that DHCP doesn't work. We had a Linksys SRW-224P fail today. Systems which were still connected worked properly, until it came time to renew their DHCP lease. Once the lease expired, they stopped working, but up until then we couldn't detect a failure. This includes PoE VoIP phones -- they work fine until their lease is up, at which point they're done. I've noticed this on the above-mentioned Linksys, three varieties of 3Com, and possibly half a dozen dumb switches. What is it about DHCP that makes it sensitive to failing switches?

  I am in the situation to give our marketing department the opportunity to maintain their redirects by their own. Until now, they passed the information to the IT department and we maintained it for them in nginx.conf. Some of these guys are quite familiar with redirections in IIS or even in apache but it is no option to give them direct access to the nginx configuration. I see, that there is no nginx support for .htaccess files which I could give access to and I would also prefer not to grant write access to an conf-file that nginx includes. I expect, that our marketing will break our nginx setup within hours... Is there a secure possibility without giving them access our the heart of our load balancer?

  I'm regularly receiving emails from a well-known public website that read as plain text without carriage breaks or effective hyperlinks. My email client is Thunderbird. Thunderbird helpsite doesn't display an answer. And I'm reluctant to complain to the website if the problem is at my end. • No HTTP Response from Tomcat 7 EC2 instance

  I am new to EC2 (and Tomcat, for that matter), and I am trying to deploy a vanilla Tomcat 7 server to an Ubuntu 12.04.1 EC2 instance and access the default test site over HTTP. My EC2 instance is running, and the Security Group includes port 80: My /etc/tomcat7/server.xml config has been edited to listen for HTTP requests on port 80: 0 I have restarted my Tomcat 7 server via sudo service tomcat7 restart. However, according to sudo netstat -lnp, Tomcat is not listed as listening over port 80: I am unable to get any response from going to the ...amazonaws.com public DNS in a web browser. What am I missing?

• tar - exclude certain files

  I wish to tar all files in a directory and its subdirectories that do NOT end in .jpg, .bmp, .gif, or png. So, given the following folders and files: foo/file.txt foo/file.gif foo/bar/file foo/bar/image.jpg I want to tar only the files file.txt and file. file.gif and image.jpg should be ignored. I would also like to maintain the folder structure. My first thought was to pipe the results of the find command in conjunction with grep -v ".jpg|.gif|.bmp.png" to a text file, and then use the tar include argument to feed it that list of files. However, the results of the grepped find command also contain directories (in the example above, it would be "foo" and "foo/bar"), and when a directory is fed to tar, it includes all files in that directory, so I would end up with a tar file containing all of the files--not what I want. Is there any way to prevent find from outputting directories? Is there a far easier way to approach this?

• Reporting Services 2008 & 2012 side by side

  I have installed Sql Server 2008 & 2012 side by side on the same machine, and that's includes the reporting service for each. Both are instances are named instances: MSSQLSERVER2008 and MSSQLSERVER2012. I didn't configure the 2008 one but configured 2012 first and this one is working fine. However later on when I wanted to configure the 2008 reporting service instance I was not able to do so; it simply cannot find it. Both services are displayed as running, nevertheless while being in Reporting Services Configuration Manager only the 2012 instance is displayed. I tried stopping the 2012 but still no luck, 2008 won't show up in the RS configuration manager. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance Iulian

• My site not directing links correctly.

  I have a site at http://badassmonkeys.com/ and when i click any of the links it does not direct it to the actual page but still pulls up the link. For some reason it works perfectly on linux cpanel and actually loads the pages, but on windows in apache, or in IIS even with a rewrite mod for it, it just doesnt work. The links dont go correctly. Is it a php.ini setting? This is my htaccess file if curious, but it works perfect in linux, but not on windows.... • maven test cannot load cross-module resources/properties ?

  I have a maven mantained project with some modules . One module contains one XML file and one parsing class. Second module depends on the first module. There is a class that calls the parsing class in the first module , but maven seems cannot test the class in the second module. Maven test reports : java.lang.NullPointerException at java.util.Properties.loadFromXML(Properties.java:851) at foo.firstModule.Parser.<init>(Parser.java:92) at foo.secondModule.Program.<init>(Program.java:84) In "Parser.java" (in the first module) , it uses Properties and InputStream to read/parse an XML file : InputStream xmlStream = getClass().getResourceAsStream("Data.xml"); Properties properties = new Properties(); properties.loadFromXML(xmlStream); The "data.xml" is located in first module's resources/foo/firstModule directory , and it tests OK in the first module. It seems when testing the second module , maven cannot correctly load the Data.xml in the first module . I thought I can solve the problem by using maven-dependency-plugin:unpack to solve it . In the second module's POM file , I add these snippets : <plugin> <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId> <artifactId>maven-dependency-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.1</version> <executions> <execution> <id>data-copying</id> <phase>test-compile</phase> <goals> <goal>unpack</goal> </goals> <configuration> <artifactItems> <artifactItem> <groupId>foo</groupId> <artifactId>firstModule</artifactId> <type>jar</type> <includes>foo/firstModule/Data.xml</includes> <outputDirectory>${project.build.directory}/classes</outputDirectory> </artifactItem> </artifactItems> </configuration> </execution> </executions> </plugin> In this POM file , I try to unpack the first module , and copy the Data.xml to classes/foo/firstModule/ directory , and then run tests. And indeed , it is copied to the right directory , I can find the "Data.xml" file in "target/classes/foo/firstModule" directory. But maven test still complains it cannot read the File (Properties.loadFromXML() throws NPE). I don't know how to solve this problem. I tried other output directory , such as ${project.build.directory}/resources , and ${project.build.directory}/test-classes , but all in vain... Any advices now ? Thanks in advanced. • Could a computer act (dependably) as a wireless router for 200+ clients? [closed]

  That is, I have a Core 2 Duo E7500 at 2.93GHz, with 2GB memory. I plan to install either Windows Server 2012 or Zeroshell 2.0RC1, and it also (planning to) includes two PCIe Wireless Card Adapters. It also has one ethernet port, and I will connect that to another machine which will be a Database and a Web Server. My plan is to have a corporate level wireless intranet with 200+ clients. I cannot afford to buy routers because I want to operate at zero costs as possible, utilizing my available resources. Is that plan plausible? Also, what minimum specs should my wireless card have? @SvenW: Oh, I meant corporate on the deployment level. I am still an undergraduate and this is more of an educational and expiremental work than an actual project. I got Windows Server 2012 for free though, and this isn't actually for commercial use.

• Is it Secure to Grant Apache User Ownership of Directories & Files for Wordpress

  I'm currently setting up WordPress on an Ubuntu server 12 everything runs fine but there is an issue when it comes to automatically updating and uploading media via WP as Apache "www-data" user does not have permissions to write to the directories. "user1" has full permission All my directories have permissions of 0755 and files 644 my directories setup is as follows: /home/user1/public_html All WP files and directories are in "public_html" In order to work around the auto updating and uploading media I've granted Apache user ownership to the following directories sudo chown www-data:www-data wp-content -R sudo chown www-data:www-data wp-includes -R sudo chown www-data:www-data wp-admin -R I would like to know security wise how secure this is and if it is not secure what would be the best solution? That will allow me to keep all files and directories owned by user1 and still allow wp to be able to automatically update and uploading media

• Windows user cannot connect via application, but can via Remote Desktop

  I have an application (ASG-Zena) giving an 1385 error (Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer) when trying to run a batch job. I have checked on "Access this computer from the network" includes Everyone and Administrators and many others. "Deny access to this computer from the network" make sure that Guest is not listed there. If you still have problems, then maybe make sure that nothing is listed there. Administrative tools...local security policy..security options "Network access sharing and security model for local accounts" there are 2 options either classic or 'guest only'. Mine is set to classic. (These diagnostics come from this post) The account in question is added to the Administrator group on this computer. I know the login is valid because I regularly login to the server via remote Desktop. What other settings should I check?

• Bootable ISO to USB stick xp wuickest method

  My dog took a leak on my PC when I went out (ye funny), now it reandomly restarts - im convinced the HDD is failing because the Windows seagate diagnostic program fails on a few tests. I want to run this prior to windows in an attempt to try and recover sectors, the program includes an iso which can be written to cd and booted, but i dont have any cd's. I tried using unetbootin to create the bootable usb from the iso file (SeaToolsDOS222ALL.576.ISO) but it doesnt work. When i boot from the usb hdd unetbootin loads with "default" in the menu. No joy booting though. I checked the usb hdd in windows and all the files are there, extracted from the iso file, wont boot though. Any ideas? Im using windows xp, or

• Trying to install SawMill and getting the following error:

  [root@sawmill sawmill]# ./sawmill ./sawmill: error while loading shared libraries: libldap-2.3.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Using yum provides libldap_r-2.3.so.0 i found that the package which includes this file is: compat-openldap-2.3.43-2.el6.i686 . After installing it i still get the error. If i use locate, i can find the file in /usr/lib, so I tried to create a symbolic link to the file from /usr/lib to /usr/lib64 but i still get the same error. I also tried setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/ and LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib64 but it doesn't allow me to run the sawmill installation script. Anyone knows how to solve this issue?
