  I'm facing an issue using eval function. Indeed I have some function name inside a SQL database, my goal is to execute those functions within perl (after retrieve in SQL).   I have a 'worker' function that will be processing any and all sql queries in my program. I will need to execute queries that return result sets and ones that just execute stored procedures without any results. Is this possible with MySqlDataAdapter.Fill or do I need to use the MySqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() method?   I am getting this error in my sys.transmission_queue table whenever I attempt to send a SQL Service Broker message between two different SQL Server servers. (i.e. the databases are on two different physical machines) Dialog security is unavailable for this conversation because there is no security certificate bound to the database principal (Id: 5). Either create a certificate for the principal, or specify ENCRYPTION = OFF when beginning the conversation When this error refers to "database principal" what is it referring to? (the "master" database? dbo user?) I've used the CREATE CERTIFICATE command, backed up the certificate and created a same named certificate on the other server with the backup .cer file from the first server, but I keep getting this message. Any help would be appreciated in getting me pointed in the right direction. I must be missing something obvious. FYI, in my development environment, both the initiating and target databases were on the same physical server, and same SQL instance, and everything was working fine.

  What are you using as a persistance framework when programming in Delphi? If the application is growing it soon became really complicated to handle the model in SQL ? Bold is a persistance framework for Delphi win32 that really deserve more attention. I use it daily and using OCL instead of SQL to get data from the database saves a lot of time and debugging. When the model is changed Bold translate this to an SQL script and change the database. EDIT: For those that are interested in Bold for Delphi I have spend this evening on create a site on Google about it. I'm not a guru in html so the design is maybe not so exciting. • Can you reuse a mysql result set in PHP?

  I have a result set I pull from a large database: $result = mysql_query($sql); I loop through this recordset once to pull specific bits of data and get averages using while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)). Later in the page, I want to loop through this same recordset again and output everything - but because I used the recordset earlier, my second loop returns nothing. I finally hacked around this by looping through a second identical recordset ($result2 = mysql_query($sql);), but I hate to make the same SQL call twice. Any way I can loop through the same dataset multiple times?

• Using ASP.Net 4.0 for new Dev projects

  I am currently in the early stages of developing a couple web applications, I have not written any code yet as I am still just gathering requirements and scoping things out. I want to target ASP.Net 4.0 winforms as the platform for these apps but I want to make sure there are no glaring issues with this new version before I commit. I understand that if I was porting an existing app from 2.0, 3.5 to 4.0 there may be issues but I am starting from scratch on these projects and plan to write these apps to support the new features of 4.0. Should I wait for the first service pack to come out? Just seems like more work to start with 3.5 now only to go back through and tweak things for 4.0 in just a few months or even before I finish the app. Our servers are Win 2K3 with IIS6 and MS SQL 2000, Should I expect any problems with VS 2010 and MS SQL 2000 in regards to Linq to SQL and EF?

  Hi, I'm having a problem with an expression in my sql statement in SQLite for Adobe AIR basically I have this sql = "UPDATE uniforms SET status=@status WHERE customerId IN(19,20)"; updateStmt.parameters["@status"] = args[1]; updateStmt.execute(); if I run the above code it works, updating the status when the id are 19 and 20 but if I pass the ids list as a parameter like this sql = "UPDATE uniforms SET status=@status WHERE customerId IN(@ids)"; updateStmt.parameters["@status"] = args[1]; updateStmt.parameters["@ids"] = "19,20"; updateStmt.execute(); it gives me and error, saying could not convert text value to numeric value, which make sense because I'm passing and string but the IN expression should convert it accordingly, like it does when I pass directly the list values, why is not working the other way, thanks for any help!

• Protect my PHP App

  Hello all, I have developed an app and its written in PHP (with a bunch of SQL scripts), this app will be used by a few small companies. For them to use it, I will have to install Apache and SQL Server for them. Every method I have thought has fallen short of what I need. I was actually just hoping to use ZendGuard or IonCube but they don't support PHP 5.3.x. Is there a simpler method where I can maybe store a key in the database and make the app run only when it knows its on that server? Maybe create a key based on some random numbers/letters and the machine name, sql server host name and encode/decode this when ever the system is in use? Thanks all for any help or ideas

  I need some help with a work project I have been assigned. At the moment we manually go to the site, logon and then download 2 excel files from a supplier's website every month. The files are then loaded into SQL. We want to automate this process. Now the loading of the files into SQL I can do, but I am not sure how I can automate logging onto the website entering my user details and collecting the files. I mostly deal with SQL and have very little .NET experience, so any code samples would be most appreciated.

My question is, I have a bunch of POCO classes which i have xml mapping files for (for the linq to sql) I've replaced my linq to sql with an entity framework data model I've got an interface - something like IService - that has all the methods on it that i need my service to implement - for example: Product[] GetProductsByKeyword(string keyword); In the above case, Product is a POCO. I now have them as entities within my ef data model - i'm using .net 4, and could take advantage of poco support, but don't really see the need - This service is strictly read only. What's the best way of returning entities in my WCF service? I want it to support other client platforms, not just .net (so php guys could use it)

• How do I get the CoreData Debug argument to output to the console?

  According to Apple documentation on debugging Core Data it says we should be able to pass an argument to the application which will output the SQL core data sends to SQLite. I have gone into the arguments tab of my executable in XCode and specified the argument: -com.apple.CoreData.SQLDebug 1 However, I see no SQL in the console. I then tried to use this parameter in the CoreDataBooks application provided by Apple just in case there was some other issue in MY program. Even in Apple's example I get no SQL output in the console. Am I doing something wrong? Is Apple's documentation wrong? Should I be looking someplace other than the console? Has anyone else had success with this argument?

  Configuration SQL 2005 (Server A) replicates to SQL 2008(Server B) which replicates to SQL 2008(Server C). I recently added a column (to Server A) to a replicated table via script & the DDL change replicated to Server B with out a problem. When the DDL change replicated to Server C, I received the error below.   Hi guys, Looking for a bit of help with taking a dat from a DatePicker Widget and storing it in an sqlite database within the app. I have the following code: java.util.Date utilDate = null; String y = Integer.toString(date.getDayOfMonth()) + "/" + (date.getMonth()+1) + "/" + Integer.toString(date.getYear()); SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyy"); utilDate = formatter.parse(y); java.sql.Date z = new java.sql.Date(utilDate.getDate()); x = z.toString(); Log.v("The date: ", x); } Where date is the DatePicker widget. If I output the utilDate variable (i.e. the Java version of date) using logCat it seems to work fine and gives me a format like: Tue Jan 04 00:00:00 GMT 2011 which I am expecting but using the code above to get the sql version of the date, it always gives me the date 1970-01-01. I'm pretty sure the solution is very simple but I just can't see it.
