  • HELP!! Delayed-job: Rake aborted! Can't modify frozen hash

    - by pmneve
Too bad even the trace doesn't say which hash is involved. Sorry this post is long: am trying to provide enough context to be meaningful. Occurs intermittently when rake jobs:work is pulling a command out of delayed_jobs while my status observer is in the process of parsing a log file for detailed results of the previous delayed_job denizen. I have an observer class (in RAILS_ROOT/lib ) which listens for the events, makes a copy of them and calls the owner class ( in apps/models ) which then calls on the log parser (also in /lib) to do the actual work. (Should both of those classes, the observer and the parser be in app/models?) Am due to deliver this application in a few days and this is killing it (and me). Am using DirectoryWatcher to look for flag files that indicate the start and finish of the delayed_jobs. That is started at the end of environment.rb like this: require 'directory_watcher' $scriptStatusObserver = ScriptStatusObserver.new dirToWatch ="#{RAILS_ROOT}/tmp/flags" $directoryWatcher = DirectoryWatcher.new( dirToWatch ) $directoryWatcher.glob= "*.flg" $directoryWatcher.interval=(15) $directoryWatcher.add_observer( $scriptStatusObserver ) $directoryWatcher.persist=("#{RAILS_ROOT}/tmp/flags/dw_state.yml") $directoryWatcher.start at_exit { $directoryWatcher.stop } This code is outside of the run method (btw is that the best place or is inside the run better?) Here is the observer: require 'script_run' class ScriptStatusObserver def initialize @rcvdEvents = [] end def update( *events ) begin puts "#{LINE.to_s}: ScriptStatusObserver events: \n"+events.to_yaml cnt = 0 events.each do |e| if e.to_s.match(/^\s*added/) cnt = cnt + 1 @rcvdEvents << e end end ScriptRun.new.catch_up( @rcvdEvents ) if cnt > 0 @rcvdEvents.clear rescue puts $! end end end Here is ScriptRun (it attaches to an associative table built with has_many:through) require 'observer' class ScriptRun < ActiveRecord::Base set_table_name "scripts_runs" belongs_to :script belongs_to :run def parse( result ) parser = LogParser.new parser.parse(result) end def catch_up( events ) events.each do |e| typ = e.type path = e.path thisMatch = path.match(/flags\/(\d+)_(\d+)_([\d\.]+)_(\w+)\.flg/) run_id = thisMatch[1] script_id = thisMatch[2] ts = thisMatch[3] status = thisMatch[4] if e.to_s.match(/^\s*added/) status_update( script_id, run_id, status, ts, path ) end end end def status_update( script_id, run_id, status, ts, path ) scriptrun = ScriptRun.find(:first, :conditions => [ "run_id = ? and script_id = ?", run_id.to_i, script_id.to_i ]) if scriptrun.kind_of?(ScriptRun) currStatus = scriptrun.status if not currStatus == 'completed' scriptrun.update_attribute(:status, status) if status == 'parse' flag = File.new(path) logSpec = flag.gets flag.close logName = File.basename(logSpec) logPath = logSpec.sub(logName, '') logName =~ /^(([\w_]+)_([\w]+)_(\d+))\.log$/ name = $1 basename = $2 runenv = $3 tsOrPid = $4 result = Result.new result.log_path = logPath result.basename = basename result.name = name result.script_id = script_id.to_i result.run_id = run_id.to_i if runenv == 'sit' runenv = 'SIT3348' end result.application_environment_id = ApplicationEnvironment.find(:first, :conditions => [ "nodename = ?", runenv]).id parse(result) if run_completed?( run_id ) myRun = Run.find(run_id.to_i) if myRun.kind_of?( Run ) myRun.update_attribute( :completed, Time.now.to_f ) end end end end else puts "#{__LINE__.to_s}: ScriptRun.status_update: ScriptRun not found for run #{run_id} script #{script_id} ts #{ts.to_s}" end File.delete(path) end def run_completed?( id ) scriptruns = ScriptRun.find(:all, :conditions = [ "run_id = ?", id.to_i] ) scriptruns.each do |sr| if not sr.status == 'completed' return false end end return true end end LogParser is too long even for this post but it reads the script log and pulls detailed information (counts and timings) out of the log and writes to a details table. • IBM Websphere on Windows- OutOfMemoryError: Failed to create a thread

    - by Kishnan
I have a J2EE application running on an IBM Websphere Application Server on a Windows Operating System. Occasionally I see an OutOfMemoryError Exception with the following information in the javacore file. 1TISIGINFO Dump Event "systhrow" (00040000) Detail "java/lang/OutOfMemoryError":"Failed to create a thread: retVal -1073741830, errno 12" received Java is run with the following configurations: -Xms512m -Xmx1350m -Xscmx50M Analyzing the javacore file, the number of threads are just 124. Analyzing the heap dump, the memory occupied by the heap is about 500Mb. Given the relatively normal number of threads and heap size a lot lower than the maximum, I am trying to figure out why I see this error? I´m not sure if this helps, but here is the top section of the javacore file... • Ant build classpath jar generates "error in opening zip file"

    - by Uberpuppy
I have a project built in eclipse with a dependencies on 3rd party jars. I'm trying to generate a suitable build file for ant - using eclipses built-in export-ant buildfile feature as a starting block. When I run the build target I get the following error: [javac] error: error reading /base/repo/FabTrace/lib/apache/geronimo/specs/geronimo-j2ee-management_1.0_spec/1.0/geronimo-j2ee-management_1.0_spec-1.0.jar; error in opening zip file And the whole build file (auto-generated by eclipse) looks like this: (NB: the error above always references the first jar listed in the classpath) <project basedir="." default="build" name="FabTrace"> <property environment="env"/> <property name="ECLIPSE_HOME" value="/opt/apps/eclipse"/> <property name="debuglevel" value="source,lines,vars"/> <property name="target" value="1.5"/> <property name="source" value="1.5"/> <path id="JUnit I've also tried from the commandline and as sudo - again, same results. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

  • How to Compile Mod_Python 3.3.1 for Python 2.6 and Apache 2.2 on Windows?

    - by John
I have no experience compiling code other than using Visual Studio's Build command. I am hoping we can create a step by step guide for compiling mod_python on windows. Please be as descriptive as possible. This is what I've done so far: Download and install python 2.6.2 Download and install apache 2.2.11 Download the most recent source code for mod_python from svn From here I'm lost to what the next step is. I've downloaded Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition. As mentioned by Hao I've already tried the tutorial mentioned in that link. Here is the error messages I'm receiving with that tutorial. • Cross-compiling with OpenSSL for Windows

    - by singpolyma
I'm trying to compile the oauth-utils http://mir.dnsalias.com/oss/oauth/start for Windows from Ubuntu. I have compiled it on Windows before (a few months back), but wanted to try cross-compiling. I got openssl build using mingw32 ok, and put libssl.a and libcrypto.a in the right place. The linker is now finding the libraries (yay!) but I get the following error: /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xaac): undefined reference to `_CreateDCA@16' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xab9): undefined reference to `_CreateCompatibleDC@4' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xacc): undefined reference to `_GetDeviceCaps@8' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xadc): undefined reference to `_GetDeviceCaps@8' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xaf4): undefined reference to `_CreateCompatibleBitmap@12' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xb04): undefined reference to `_SelectObject@8' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xb18): undefined reference to `_GetObjectA@12' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xb81): undefined reference to `_BitBlt@36' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xb8c): undefined reference to `_GetBitmapBits@12' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xbe5): undefined reference to `_SelectObject@8' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xbec): undefined reference to `_DeleteObject@4' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xbf6): undefined reference to `_DeleteDC@4' /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/../../../../i586-mingw32msvc/lib/libcrypto.a(rand_win.o):rand_win.c:(.text+0xc00): undefined reference to `_DeleteDC@4' Any ideas what could be causing this? • Magento, NGINX, PHP-FPM, APC, MEMCACHED, 16gb Ram CentOS, Spiking PHP-FPM to 100% CPU

    - by Terry Dunford
I have been trying to resolve my issue of spiking cpu caused by php-fpm processes. I've reduced the php-fpm config settings to: pm = ondemand pm.max_children = 12 pm.start_servers = 2 pm.min_spare_servers = 2 pm.max_spare_servers = 10 pm.max_requests = 500 php_admin_value[memory_limit] = 128M Problem still exists. I'm running a Joomla main site (which is having no problems) and a Magento store in a sub-directory. My server is a Linux CentOS, running NGINX, APC, Memcached, Full Page Cache and php-fpm. My server has 8 cores and 16gb dedicated ram. My host has shut down my server several times the past week because my php-fpm processes are consuming the entire network. A lot of the individual php-fpm processes are getting over 50% cpu. I've hired several "professionals" and none of them was able to help me, so now broke and stumped, I'm turning to you guys for help. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I turned on slow php logs and here are some of the latest results: [01-Apr-2012 14:26:12] [pool magento] pid 21537 script_filename = /home/flyfish/www/flyshop/index.php [0x0000000011a394f8] • Different lib directories of JBpss

    - by Serafeim
There is a number of different lib directories JBoss (5.1.0) uses: I can find jboss/lib, jboss/lib/endorsed, jboss/common/lib, jboss/server/default/lib and of course the jboss/server/default/deploy/myapp/WEB-INF/lib (am I missing something ?). From the above, I know that I need to use the last one (WEB-INF/lib) to put any jars my app needs. What about all the others ? What is their use and what should I put there ? Why put it there and not in the WEB-INF/lib ? Thanks !

Here is the issue: I know rails defaults to sqllite right now, but I need to use mysql for a series of reasons. Faye private pub has issues connecting. It works from rails console and from inside application. It fails when called from background process like delayed_job or sidekiq. • postfix error: open database /var/lib/mailman/data/aliases.db: No such file

    - by Thufir
In trying to follow the Ubuntu guide for postfix and mailman, I do not understand these directions: This build of mailman runs as list. It must have permission to read /etc/aliases and read and write /var/lib/mailman/data/aliases. Do this with these commands: sudo chown root:list /var/lib/mailman/data/aliases sudo chown root:list /etc/aliases Save and run: sudo newaliases I'm getting this kind of error: root@dur:~# root@dur:~# root@dur:~# telnet localhost 25 Trying 127.0.0.1... • I can't update my system properly, "no package header" error

    - by joel
Every time I try to run sudo apt-get update or try running updates from the GUI interface I run into the following problem or something similar: Reading package lists... Error! E: Encountered a section with no Package: header E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise_restricted_binary-i386_Packages E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. I've tried purging using sudo rm -rf <filename> where <filename> is the listed file above, and then running sudo apt-get update to fix it (as listed elsewhere in this forum) and no luck, just keep getting this message. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and this is getting really frustrating... I just want a system that runs smoothly and doesn't require it's hand to be held when it comes to updates. • /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 causing segmentation fault & session crash

I am having repeated and frequent crashes ending session whenever I take certain actions such as loading gmail under Chrome. Oddly, the same is not happening when I go to gmail under Chrome. • Is there a command like pstree for libraries?

    - by flashnode
    I need to determine whether a library named libunaSA.so is being called directly by the process or by another library called libtoki2.so. I guess what I'm looking for is a pstree for libraries. The system is running RHEL 5.3 Beta. This output shows the two libraries in the process map # grep -e toki -e una /proc/2335/maps 0043f000-004ad000 r-xp 00000000 08:02 543465 /usr/lib/libtoki2.so 004ad000-004c5000 rwxp 0006d000 08:02 543465 /usr/lib/libtoki2.so 01185000-01397000 r-xp 00000000 08:02 543503 /usr/lib/libunaSA.so 01397000-013dc000 rwxp 00211000 08:02 543503 /usr/lib/libunaSA.so This output shows that only the libtoki2.so library is in the current cache # ldconfig -p | grep -e una -e toki libtoki2.so (libc6) => /usr/lib/libtoki2.so libtoki.so.4.4.1 (libc6) => /usr/lib/libtoki.so.4.4.1 libtoki.so.2 (libc6) => /usr/lib/libtoki.so.2 I attached strace to the running process but it doesn't provide much output # strace -p 2335 Process 2335 attached - interrupt to quit futex(0xb7ef5bd8, FUTEX_WAIT, 2336, NULL Here's the output to ldd for each library # ldd /usr/lib/libtoki2.so linux-gate.so.1 => (0x00a0a000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x001bd000) libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 => /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 (0x00f3f000) libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x00b27000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x0043d000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x00742000) libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x00110000) # ldd /usr/lib/libunaSA.so linux-gate.so.1 => (0x00244000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x00baf000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x007fa000) libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 => /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 (0x009ce000) libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x00c96000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x004a2000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x00742000) libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x00a9f000)

    I compiled boost lib and got these. //Shared/dynamic link libraries 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 53,248 boost_thread-vc80-mt-1_42.dll 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 17,054 boost_thread-vc80-mt-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 17,054 boost_thread-vc80-mt.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 73,728 boost_thread-vc80-mt-gd-1_42.dll 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 17,214 boost_thread-vc80-mt-gd-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 17,214 boost_thread-vc80-mt-gd.lib // Static libs... does not need any dlls 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 381,716 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 381,716 libboost_thread-vc80-mt.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 999,552 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-gd-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 999,552 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-gd.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 421,050 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-s-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 421,050 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-s.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 1,015,688 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-sgd-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 1,015,688 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-sgd.lib In Visual Studio, I have written a test app using the boost thread library. Based on code generation settings it asks for these four libs only (like multithreading debug, multithreading, multithreading debug dll, and multithreading dll) 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 381,716 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 381,716 libboost_thread-vc80-mt.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 999,552 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-gd-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 999,552 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-gd.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 421,050 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-s-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 421,050 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-s.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 1,015,688 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-sgd-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 1,015,688 libboost_thread-vc80-mt-sgd.lib Now my question is how can I link my app to the other 2 libs so that it uses the dlls? 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 53,248 boost_thread-vc80-mt-1_42.dll 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 17,054 boost_thread-vc80-mt-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 17,054 boost_thread-vc80-mt.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 73,728 boost_thread-vc80-mt-gd-1_42.dll 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 17,214 boost_thread-vc80-mt-gd-1_42.lib 24/03/2010 11:25 PM 17,214 boost_thread-vc80-mt-gd.lib Question 2. What does the g, s stands for?
