  • Changing image domain / path in css for production?

    Currently, for things like background images, our css files have no domain specified. This works both in our development and production environments. background-image: url(/images/bg.png); For performance reasons (cookie-less domain), we'd like to switch this: background-image: url(http://staticimagedomain.com/images/bg.png); Ideally, we don't hard code those, so our development environments can still pull locally. Any thoughts on how to best achieve this?

This gives me an object of type type File, which has the following method: File.name: The name of the file including the relative path from MEDIA_ROOT. What I want is something like .filename that will only give me the filename and not the path as well something like: {% for download in downloads %} <div class="download"> <div class="title">{{download.file.filename}}</div> </div> {% endfor %} which would give something like myfile.jpg thanks

A jQuery solution I could not make work, because my divs resize late because of ajax and menu clicks and I can not find an event for this.

  • CSS: right wrapper dropping off the end of the page

    I have an issue with a site I am working on where the right wrapper keeps dropping down below the site. Obviously I want it to stay on the right hand side. I've coded up a test case which shows my issue (I think) and I'm wondering if there is a better way to do things. The website url is http://www.musicworkshop.co.nz/ Below is the test case which (I think) is the cause of my issue, however it may not be. The pink box drops down if it does not fit within the page width. Is there a better way to do this?     I'm learning C++. For me, my programming style is just what looks the best; it doesn't seem to follow the rules of any one particular style. Here's an example void f(int x){ //no space between close-paren and bracket if (!x){ cout << "x is non-zero\n"; } //closing bracket indented to the same level as the original statement } It's only slightly different for something like a class or a namespace: class myClass {}; //space between class name and bracket, otherwise the same as functions K&R style does uses that kind of bracketing for statements, but my style uses it for everything. I'd like to know if there's a name for it so I can say simply what my indent style is without having to explain using examples like these.

  • What is the most frustrating programming style you've encountered?

    When it comes to coding style I'm a pretty relaxed programmer. I'm not firmly dug into a particular coding style. I'd prefer a consistent overall style in a large code base but I'm not going to sweat every little detail of how the code is formatted. Still there are some coding styles that drive me crazy. No matter what I can't look at examples of these styles without reaching for a VIM buffer to "fix" the "problem". I can't help it. It's not even wrong, I just can't look at it for some reason. For instance the following comment style almost completely prevents me from actually being able to read the code. if (someConditional) // Comment goes here { other code } What's the most frustrating style you've encountered?
