  I need some directions for SQL Server & Cursors: I have a table named Order: OrderID Item Amount 1 A 10 1 B 1 2 A 5 2 C 4 2 D 21 3 B 11 I have a second table named Storage: Item Amount A 40 B 44 C 20 D 1 For every OrderID, I want to check if enough items are available. If not, I want to return an error message. How can this be done with Cursors at all? Are nested cursors the solution to this? My main issue is to understand how I can fetch the OrderID as actual "Group" of ID=1, 2, 3 etc. instead of line by line

• Howto mix TDD and RAII

  I'm trying to make extensive tests for my new project but I have a problem. Basically I want to test MyClass. MyClass makes use of several other class which I don't need/want to do their job for the purpose of the test. So I created mocks (I use gtest and gmock for testing) But MyClass instantiate everything it needs in it's constructor and release it in the destructor. That's RAII I think. So I thought, I should create some kind of factory, which creates everything and gives it to MyClass's constructor. That factory could have it's fake for testing purposes. But's thats no longer RAII right? Then what's the good solution here?

  I am pretty sure all of you are familiar with the concept of the Big4, and I have several stuffs to do print in each of the constructor, assignment, destructor, and copy constructor. The restriction is this: I CAN'T use more than one newline (e.g., ƒn or std::endl) in any method I can have a method called print, so I am guessing print is where I will put that precious one and only '\n', my problem is that how can the method print which prints different things on each of the element I want to print in each of the Big4? Any idea? Maybe overloading the Big4?

• Solving a cyclical dependency in Ninject (Compact Framework)

  I'm trying to use Ninject for dependency injection in my MVP application. However, I have a problem because I have two types that depend on each other, thus creating a cyclic dependency. At first, I understand that it was a problem, because I had both types require each other in their constructors. Therefore, I moved one of the dependencies to a property injection instead, but I'm still getting the error message. What am I doing wrong? This is the presenter: public class LoginPresenter : Presenter<ILoginView>, ILoginPresenter { public LoginPresenter( ILoginView view ) : base( view ) { } } and this is the view: public partial class LoginForm : Form, ILoginView { [Inject] public ILoginPresenter Presenter { private get; set; } public LoginForm() { InitializeComponent(); } } And here's the code that causes the exception: static class Program { /// <summary> /// The main entry point for the application. /// </summary> [MTAThread] static void Main() { // Show the login form Views.LoginForm loginForm = Kernel.Get<Views.Interfaces.ILoginView>() as Views.LoginForm; Application.Run( loginForm ); } } The exception happens on the line with the Kernel.Get<>() call. Why doesn't Ninject understand that since one is constructor injection and the other is property injection, this can work just fine? I even read somewhere looking for the solution to this problem that Ninject supposedly gets this right as long as the cyclic dependency isn't both in the constructors. Apparently not, though. Any help resolving this would be much appreciated.

• Can any function be a deleted-function?

  The working draft explicitly calls out that defaulted-functions must be special member functions (eg copy-constructor, default-constructor, etc). Which makes perfect sense. However, I don't see any such restriction on deleted-functions. Is that right?   I have the following scenario: public class FirstChildService : IChildService { } public class SecondChildService : IChildService { } public class MyService : IService { public MyService(IEnumerable<IChildService> childServices){ ... } } I'm currently registering all the child services and explicitly depending on them in the constructor of MyService, but what I'd like to do is have them all injected as part of a collection. I can think of a few ways to do this: Using a facility Using a component property Registering the collection as a service But all of them feel a bit... icky. What's the best way to manage this? Also, ideally I'd like to do this using the fluent API and constructor injection.   According to the documentation, I should be able to configure the size of my OpenLayers popup by declaring an OpenLayers.Size object in the FramedCloud constructor: this.popup = new OpenLayers.Popup.FramedCloud('featurePopup', this.options.feature.geometry.getBounds().getCenterLonLat(), new OpenLayers.Size(80, 60), this.template(this.formattedAttrs()), null, true, this.onPopupClose ); Currently the popup that is rendered is autosized no matter what dimensions I use in the constructor. I've tried manually setting the autosizing attribute of the FramedCloud to false as well as manually adjusting the css styling for the popup without achieving the results I need. I checked and found some similar issues in the OpenLayers 2.11 issues list, but I haven't found a workaround. Any ideas?

The table just has an id, person_id, team_id, and date fields.   Hi, I Have a DataBase in my project With Table named 'ProcessData' and columns named 'Start_At' (Type: DateTime) and 'End_At' (Type: DateTime) . When I try to enter a new record into this table, it enter the data in the following format: 'YYYY/MM/DD HH:mm', when I actualy want it to be in that format: 'YYYY/MM/DD HH:mm:ss' (the secondes dosen't apper). Does anyone know why, and what should I do in order to fix this?   Does anybody know of a python module to parse a doxygen style C++ comment string?   I want to load data to an instance of an object using its constructor and I write $this->property=$row["colname"] each time for each property. the mysql_fetch_object function fetches the data as an object but I am not sure if the instance of an object can be assigned to some object from inside. othwerwise I would use __construct($object) { $this=$object; } //doesn't give any syntax error Maybe I should look into iteration of properties and use foreach($object as $key => $value) $value=$object[$key]; or can I assign like $this=$object; within the constructor?

  Hello, I wonder if anyone knows how could I rename multiple files, all of them originally named with same structure, and add some data extracted from a mysql DB according to specifics rules. For example I have 500 files named with this vars: ID NAME ADDRESS PHONE.wav = 1234567 PAULSIMON WESTDR122 9942213456.wav Now I need to rename files taking some data from the databases for each file, and append the data from a query appended to the filename. For example add the data resulting from a query Where some conditions match, and the data to build the query is taked from original file name, as ID or NAME. i other words, lets say that I want to build a query taking ID & NAME from file 1234567 PAULSIMON WESTDR123 9942213456.wav as WHERE statements to take another value as BirthDATE and add this to new filename, so final result should be: ID NAME ADDRESS PHONE BIRTHDATE.wav I will appreciate any help on this. I need this to be done on a LINUX server.

My project have a configured MANIFEST file that contains: Manifest-Version: 1.0 UseWSFEP61ScanPolicy: true I'm actually using servlet 3.0 but tried with 2.3. Anyone can help me to do WebSphere approprieate scan annotations of ws-jax and create wsdl on server?

  Hi I have a immutable Customer class in my domain assembly. It contains the following GET properties : id, firstname and lastname. I have a CustomerRepository class in my persistence assembly. In turn, this CustomerRepository class should populate and return a Customer object using a remote web-serivce. My Customer class contains no setter properties and it contains a private constructor. The reason - I dont want the UI developer to get the wrong idea - He should not be able to create or change a Customer object. My question: How do I get my CustomerRepository to populate my Customer object. Reflection? Or should I sacrifice my design and enable a public constructor for constructing the customer object?

• Optimizing simple search script in PowerShell

  I need to create a script to search through just below a million files of text, code, etc. to find matches and then output all hits on a particular string pattern to a CSV file. So far I made this; $location = 'C:\Work*' $arr = "foo", "bar" #Where "foo" and "bar" are string patterns I want to search for (separately) for($i=0;$i -lt $arr.length; $i++) { Get-ChildItem $location -recurse | select-string -pattern $($arr[$i]) | select-object Path | Export-Csv "C:\Work\Results\$($arr[$i]).txt" } This returns to me a CSV file named "foo.txt" with a list of all files with the word "foo" in it, and a file named "bar.txt" with a list of all files containing the word "bar". Is there any way anyone can think of to optimize this script to make it work faster? Or ideas on how to make an entirely different, but equivalent script that just works faster? All input appreciated!

It says: template<class InputIterator> string (InputIterator begin, InputIterator end); If InputIterator is an integral type, behaves as the sixth constructor version (the one right above this) by typecasting begin and end to call it: string(static_cast<size_t>(begin),static_cast<char>(end)); In any other case, the parameters are taken as iterators, and the content is initialized with the values of the elements that go from the element referred by iterator begin to the element right before the one referred by iterator end. So what does that mean if InputIterator is a char * ?

The only problem is that Fluent's concrete implementation of ISessionSource (SessionSource) has 3 constructors: public SessionSource(PersistenceModel model) { Initialize(new Configuration().Configure(), model); } public SessionSource(IDictionary<string, string> properties, PersistenceModel model) { Initialize(new Configuration().AddProperties(properties), model); } public SessionSource(FluentConfiguration config) { configuration = config.Configuration; sessionFactory = config.BuildSessionFactory(); dialect = Dialect.GetDialect(configuration.Properties); } I've tried configuring my ObjectFactory supplying an argument for the first constructor but it seems like it wants to try the second one. How do I configure my ObjectFactory so that I can choose the first constructor or perhaps even another one if I decide to use that?

  i have a class named cv,and a class named university, and each user that completes his cv, should choose a University he studyes at. My problem is: one student can study at one or 2 or three universities, or may be a user that is not student. I need to take this data into a form, and i use ModelForm. The data from the Cv class, and from the University class in the same form, and the user can add one or more universities, or no university. (in the same form) How should i do it? Should i use ModelForm? if i have a foreign key in the CV class, and the user is not a student (so he is at zero universities), i may get an referencial integrity error. thanks a lot

• What are the other new features of C# 4.0, after dynamic and optional parameters?

  So, C# 4.0 came out yesterday. It introduced the much-debated dynamic keyword, named and optional parameters. Smaller improvements were the implicit ref and recognizing of indexed and default properties on COM methods, contra- and co-variance (really a .NET CLR feature, not C# only) and... Is that really it? Are dynamic and optional/named params the only real improvements to C#? Or did I miss something? Not that I'm complaining, but it seems a bit meager after C# 2.0 (generics) and C# 3.0 (lambda, LINQ). Maybe the language just reached actual maturity?

  Hi, My GUI project in Qt has a lot of "configuration pages" classes which all inherit directly from QWidget. Recently, I realized that all these classes share 2 commons slots (loadSettings() and saveSettings()). Regarding this, I have two questions: Does it make sense to write a intermediate base abstract class (lets name it BaseConfigurationPage) with these two slots as virtual pure methods ? (Every possible configuration page will always have these two methods, so I would say "yes") Before I do the heavy change in my code (if I have to) : does Qt support virtual pure slots ? Is there anything I should be aware of ?
