  • Calling methods or functions with Jquery

    - by Ross
So I can call a php page using jquery $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "refresh_news_image.php", data: "name=" + name, success: function(html) { alert(html) $('div.imageHolder').html(html); } }); However this getting a bit messy, I have a few .php files that only really preform very simple tasks. If I want to call a method $images-refresh_image(); is this possible. Failing that I could just create a big file with lots of functions in it? Thanks, Ross

  • How to check if a checkbox in a checkbox array is checked with jquery

    - by eddy
Hello everyone. I have a html table with a column of text boxes (mileage), all of them are disabled when the page loads, and I need that when user clicks on a check box, the text box for that column should be enabled and become a required field, and then if the user unchecks the checkbox, the textbox on that row must be disabled and the required class removed. I already have the function to enable and disable the text boxes (column mileage) when the user clicks on the corresponding checkbox, but it is written in javascript. However, for some reason it only works in IE). Here is the html code <tbody> <c:forEach items="${list}" var="item"> <tr> <td align="center"> <input type="checkbox" name="selectItems" value="<c:out value="${item.numberPlate}"/>" onchange="enableTextField(this)" /> </td> <td align="left"><c:out value="${item.numberPlate}"/></td> <td align="left"><c:out value="${item.driver.fullName}"/></td> <td align="left"><input type="text" name="mileage_<c:out value="${item.numberPlate}"/>" value="" disabled="true"/></td> </tr> </c:forEach> </tbody> And the javascript code: function enableTextField(r) { var node = r.parentNode; while( node && node.tagName !== 'TR' ) { node = node.parentNode; } var i=node.rowIndex; if(document.form1.selectItems[i-1].checked) { document.getElementById('mileage_' + document.form1.selectItems[i-1].value).disabled=false; } else { document.getElementById('mileage_' + document.form1.selectItems[i-1].value).value=""; document.getElementById('mileage_' + document.form1.selectItems[i-1].value).disabled=true; } } Now, I know that in order to add or remove dynamically validation rules I have to use: addClass('required'); o removeClass('required') ,but I don't know how to detect whether a check box is selected or not, and based on that ,enable or disable the text box for that row. I really hope you can help me out with this.

I want to be able to preppend the "patient" name of a practice agenda... eventRender: function(event, element) { console.log(element[0]); } This currently shows the HTML output in the console, but I don't know how can I access it (in a pretty jquery manner) in order to manipulate the data within. Thanks

  • Why can’t GridView extract child control’s values directly?

    - by SourceC
Hello using Bind in a GridView control template enables the control to extract values from child controls in the template and pass them to the data source control. The data source control in turn performs the appropriate command for the database. For this reason, the Bind function is used inside the EditItemTemplate or InsertItemTemplate of a data-bound control. Why is Bind() needed to extract values and pass them to GridView. Why isn’t GridView able to extract child control’s values directly? thanx

  • Visual Studio Add in to Add Tracing

    - by Eric Brown - Cal
I was looking to write/get a visual studio addin. I want to be able to write descriptive log calls at the top and bottom of a function. like this log.debug("TheClass.TheMethod(string TheStringParam ="+TheStringParam+") - in"); log.debug("TheClass.TheMethod(string TheStringParam ="+TheStringParam+") - out"); Is there an adin that does this? Is there source anywhere for an add in like Ghost Doc that does reflection(or whatever) to parse the parameters and such?

  • API to toggle "Show hidden files, folders and drives"

    - by dbkk
Is there a function in Windows API to toggle the "Show hidden files, folders and drives" option in Windows Explorer (Tools Folder Options... View tab). I know of a related registry key, but changing that would not have immediate effect. The key is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/Advanced/Folder/Hidden/SHOWALL Trying to do this from C#, but the question is not language-specific.

  • Short Python alphanumeric hash with minimal collisions

    - by ensnare
I'd like to set non-integer primary keys for a table using some kind of hash function. md5() seems to be kind of long (32-characters). What are some alternative hash functions that perhaps use every letter in the alphabet as well as integers that are perhaps shorter in string length and have low collision rates? Thanks!

  • Trace redirect loop

    - by Michel Krämer
I have a large PHP application. After I changed some settings I get a redirection loop (i.e. the browser is redirected to the same page over and over again). The problem is that I don't know which command (which line in which PHP file) in this application causes the redirect. Is there a way to trace calls to the header() function? Or - even better - is there a way to trace redirects in PHP? Thanks in advance, Michel

  • Python mechanize to follow image links?

    - by Shark
mechanize's Browser class is great and it's follow_link() function is great too. But what to do with this kind of links: <a href="http://example.com"><img src="…"></a> Is there any way to follow such links? The text attribute of this type of links is simply '[IMG]', so AFAIK, there is no way to differentiate such links. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Why is file_get_contents() faster than using fsock_open()?

    - by eds
In PHP, sometimes I want to send an HTTP request to a remote site just to look at the response headers, so I declare it all manually and use the fsock_open() function. However, this goes much slower than calling file_get_contents() with a remote URL (which loads the whole page content). Why is this? Is there a good alternative way to get just the response headers (to check if a page returns a 404 error, for example) that works as fast as file_get_contents()?

  • Scheme Formatting Help

    - by Logan
I've been working on a project for school that takes functions from a class file and turns them into object/classes. The assignment is all about object oriented programming in scheme. My problem however is that my code doesn't format right. The output it gives me whenever I give it a file to pass in wraps the methods of the class in a list, making it so that the class never really gets declared. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the parenthesis wrapping the method list to remove. I would really appreciate any help. Below is the code and the class file. ;;;; PART1 --- A super-easy set of classes. Just models points and lines. Tests all of the ;; basics of class behavior without touching on anything particularly complex. (class pointInstance (parent:) (constructor_args:) (ivars: (myx 1) (myy 2)) (methods: (getx () myx) (gety () myy) (setx (x) (set! myx x)) (show () (begin (display "[") (display myx) (display ",") (display myy) (display "]"))) )) (require (lib "trace.ss")) ;; Continue reading until you hit the end of the file, all the while ;; building a list with the contents (define load-file (lambda (port) (let ((rec (read port))) (if (eof-object? rec) '() (cons rec (load-file port)))))) ;; Open a port based on a file name using open-input-file (define (load fname) (let ((fport (open-input-file fname))) (load-file fport))) ;(define lis (load "C:\\Users\\Logan\\Desktop\\simpletest.txt")) ;(define lis (load "C:\\Users\\Logan\\Desktop\\complextest.txt")) (define lis (load "C:\\Users\\Logan\\Desktop\\pointinstance.txt")) ;(display (cdaddr (cdddar lis))) (define makeMethodList (lambda (listToMake retList) ;(display listToMake) (cond [(null? listToMake) retList ;(display "The list passed in to parse was null") ] [else (makeMethodList (cdr listToMake) (append retList (list (getMethodLine listToMake)))) ] ) )) ;(trace makeMethodList) ;this works provided you just pass in the function line (define getMethodLine (lambda (functionList) `((eq? (car msg) ,(caar functionList)) ,(caddar functionList)))) (define load-classes (lambda paramList (cond [(null? paramList) (display "Your parameters are null, man.")] [(null? • Example: Objective C method alongside a php method

    - by Nic Hubbard
I am very used to javascript and php programing, and I just jumped into programing Objective C. After working with it for a few weeks, the methods still confused me, as to how it is passing params, and how the methods are named. Since I am used to php, I am used to seeing: function myFunc($param1, $param2, $param3, $param4) { return FALSE; } Could someone show me how this would be written in Objective C, so that I can get used to writing methods that have parameters?

  • dhtmlxgrid: getting an xml string of grid data

    - by user823527
The dhtmlxgrid documentation is saying that I should be able to get a string with the grid data with the serialize feature. mygrid.setSerializationLevel(true, true); var myXmlStr = mygrid.serialize(); I'd like to use that feature to get the updated grid data. But I don't get the xml string. Is that feature not available in the open source version? If I could get a csv string, that would also be OK. But I don't get that either. var gridcsv=mygrid.serializeToCSV(); document.getElementById("mytextareax").value = gridcsv; The html information for the grid is: <a href="#" onclick="savegrid();">Save Grid</a> <textarea id="mytextareax"><rows><row id='r1'><cell>index ... </rows></textarea> <div id="mytextarea" style="width:400px; height: 400px;"> </div> <div id="gridbox" style="width:600px; height:270px; background-color:white;"></div> <a href='#alfa' onClick="ser()">Reload grid with another structure</a> <br> The script for creating the grid is: <script> mygrid = new dhtmlXGridObject('gridbox'); mygrid.setImagePath("../../codebase/imgs/"); mygrid.loadXML("../common/grid500.xml"); function ser(){ mygrid.clearAll(true); mygrid.loadXML("../common/gridH3.xml"); } function savegrid(){ alert('save grid'); mygrid.setSerializationLevel(true, true); var myXmlStr = mygrid.serialize(); /* document.getElementById("mytextarea").innerHTML = myXmlStr; */ document.getElementById("mytextareax").value = myXmlStr; alert(myXmlStr); } </script> Is there any way to get the data out of the dhtmlx grid to be able to create my own xml file from it?

  • Django filter vs exclude

    - by Enrico
Is there a difference between filter and exclude in django? If I have self.get_query_set().filter(modelField=x) and I want to add another criteria, is there a meaningful difference between to following two lines of code? self.get_query_set().filter(user__isnull=False, modelField=x) self.get_query_set().filter(modelField=x).exclude(user__isnull=True) is one considered better practice or are they the same in both function and performance?
