  • Where to start when doing a Domain Model?

    Let's say I've made a list of concepts I'll use to draw my Domain Model. Furthermore, I have a couple of Use Cases from which I did a couple of System Sequence Diagrams. When drawing the Domain Model, I never know where to start from: Designing the model as I believe the system to be. This is, if I am modelling a the human body, I start by adding the class concepts of Heart, Brain, Bowels, Stomach, Eyes, Head, etc. Start by designing what the Use Cases need to get done. This is, if I have a Use Case which is about making the human body swallow something, I'd first draw the class concepts for Mouth, Throat, Stomatch, Bowels, etc. The order in which I do things is irrelevant? I'd say probably it'd be best to try to design from the Use Case concepts, as they are generally what you want to work with, not other kind of concepts that although help describe the whole system well, much of the time might not even be needed for the current project. Is there any other approach that I am not taking in consideration here? How do you usually approach this? Thanks

  • Time to start a counter on client-side.

    Hi everybody, I'm developing an web application using asp.net mvc, and i need to do a stopwatch (chronometer) (with 30 seconds preprogrammed to start in a certain moment) on client-side using the time of the server, by the way, the client's clock can't be as the server's clock. So, i'm using Jquery to call the server by JSon and get the time, but it's very stress because each one second I call the server to get time, something like this: $(function() { GetTimeByServer(); }); function GetTimeByServer() { $.getJSon('/Home/Time', null, function(result) { if (result.SecondsPending < 30) { // call another function to start an chronometer } else { window.SetTimeout(GetTimeByServer, 1000); //call again each 1 second! } }); } It works fine, but when I have more than 3 or 4 call like this, the browser slowly but works! I'd like to know, how improve more performace in client side, or if is there any way to do this... is there any way to client listen the server like a "socket" to know if the chronometer should start...     Hi I am completely new to programming. And please someone help me. I am trying to start a pocess from a service. I need to start the new process by prompting user to enter admin credentials. I was trying to use CreateProcessWithLogonW(). Am I using the right function. I tried to give input username, password, domain as localhost. I gave full pathe to the .exe file that i need to start. Here is the piece of code. CreateProcessWithLogonW(L"Administrator", L"localhost", L"password", 0, NULL, L"c:\myupdates\myapp.exe", NORMAL_PRIORITY_CLASS | CREATE_CONSOLE, NULL, NULL, &si, &pi); Si.cb = sizeof(si); Si.lpDesktop = L"winsta0\\default"; But the process never started. Can you guys tell me what I am doing wrong. And what do I need to do to promt user to enter credentials of administrator instead of hardcoding it.

Before re-starting the workflow, the content type must be added to the list. To check this, I was looking at the content type of the list item being updated and it is correct properties.ListItem.ContentType.Name "Experiment Document Set" So basically I have a workfow associated with the content type "Experiment Document Set". When I try to start a workflow from an event receiver in "Experiment Document Set", I get an error saying the content type "Experiment Document Set" does not exist in the list which doesn't make sense.

  • Cannot log to Proxmox GUI

    I'm running proxmox on debian 6.0.8 kernel 2.6.32-18-pve. When I try to log into the GUI with the root password, it lets me in for about 2 seconds then asks for the password again: <hostname>:8006/api2/json/cluster/resources 401 (permission denied - invalid ticket) This is not the same behavior as when I give an incorrect password. I suspect a hostname problem, but I can't sort it out. My /etc/hosts contains the following line: <ip> <shorthostname> <longhostname> pvelocalhost The folder /etc/pve/nodes contains a folder name The https certificates matches the hostname. Any idea?   • Cannot enable network discovery on Windows Server 2008 R2

    I'm trying to enable the Network Discovery feature on a newly installed Windows Server 2008 R2 instance. The network connection is in the Home or Work profile (it is not domain joined). These are the steps I've followed: Within the Network and Sharing Center I select Change advanced sharing settings Then I select the Turn on network discovery option for the current network profile (Home or Work) I then click Save changes If I then go back to the Advanced sharing settings screen the Turn off network discovery option is selected and the machine is not visible to others within the Network node in Windows Explorer. Things I've checked: I can ping the server and connect to it using the machine name/IP address. The Windows Firewall has exceptions for Network Discovery for both Private and Public networks. File and Printer sharing is enabled and I can transfer files to/from the server by connecting to the server using a UNC path. What am I missing here?

  • Cannot create a project TFS 2012 - TF218027

    I've just installed TFS2012 and am trying to create a new project in the default collection via Visual Studio 2012 but I keep getting this error message: TF218027: The following reporting folder could not be created on the server that is running SQL Server Reporting Services: /TfsReports/DefaultCollection. The report server is located at: http://<servername>/Reports. The error is: The permissions granted to user '<domain>/grandmasterflush' are insufficient for performing this operation.. Verify that the path is correct and that you have sufficient permissions to create the folder on that server and then try again. I've checked the permissions and my user is a member of the Project Collection Administrators and the Project Collection Administrators group has the 'Create new project' permission set to allow. The only thing I think it might be is that the user that I created during installation for the Sharepoint access and reports viewing does not have permission to write to the reports folder, however if I select "Do not configure a SharePoint site at this time" then I still get the error messages. I can't find the reports folder to check the permissions either. TFS is using an instance of SQL 2012 that was already on the machine when TFS was installed. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong please?

    We had a 3-drive Windows Server 2008 R2 RAID-5 fail (operating in redundancy mode): WDC 1 TB WDC 1 TB WDC 1 TB We removed the failed hard drive, and put a WDC 1 TB drive (that we had standing by) into the machine. When launched, Disk Manager, asked permission to "initialize" the disk as either: Master Boot Record (MBR) Guid Partition Table (GPT) We initialized the disk as GPT, converted it to dynamic, and tried to use the Repair Volume command - except it was greyed out. (which is a terrifying thing on a failed production server hosting 3 virtual servers) i tried from the diskpart command line tool.     I install ILMerge.exe; path is C:\Program Files\Microsoft\ILMerge\ILMerge.exe. I want to set the command to the Path so I can type ilmerge anywhere to use the application. I googled and tried all the following but none works: setx -m ilmerge;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\ILMerge\ILMerge.exe setx -M ilmerge;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\ILMerge\ILMerge.exe setx -m %PATH%;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\ILMerge\ILMerge.exe setx /S system /U administrator ilmerge;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\ILMerge\ILMerge.exe I then tried to add, the GUI's Environment Variables, click New and input the variable "ilmerge" and value "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\ILMerge\ILMerge.exe". But in command prompt and type in ilmerge, still gives me 'ilmerge' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or bath file.   • Upgraded AGPM Server cannot connect to relocated archive

    We were using the Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM) v3.0 on out Windows Server 2008 DC. It kept the archive on the C: drive. When we upgraded to AGPM v4 we relocated the archive to the D: drive. Now when we try to look at a GPO's hisory in GPMC we get the following error Failed to connect to the AGPM Server. The following error occurred: The server was unable to process the request due to an internal error. For more information about the error, either turn on IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults (either from ServiceBehaviorAttribute or from the configuration behavior) on the server in order to send the exception information back to the client, or turn on tracing as per the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 SDK documentation and inspect the server trace logs. System.ServiceModel.FaultException (80131501) You are able to click Retry or Cancel. Retry brings up the same error and Cancel takes you back to GPMC and the History tab displays "Archive not found". I installed the client on a Windows 7 computer (which is a n unsupported set up) and it could read the server archive without any issues. I followed the TechNet article "Move the AGPM Server and the Archive" but that didn't make a difference How can I tell the server where the archive is?

  • Cannot bind OSX to AD

    I'm trying to get an mac mini running snow leopard server to join a windows domain here. The windows domain server is running Windows server 2008. When I go to "Accounts" in my System Preferences, and lick on "Join", I get this error: "Unable to add server. Node name wasn't found. (2000)" In my console messages I find this: 10-04-06 11:42:25 AM System Preferences1452 -[ODCAddServerSheetController handleOtherActionError: gotError: Error Domain=com.apple.OpenDirectory Code=2000 UserInfo=0x2004f2f80 "Custom call 82 to Active Directory failed.", Node name wasn't found. I specified a FQDN for the domain server, so I am totally confused as to why it would list "domain = com.apple...." in that error. I've tried firing up the Directory Utility and trying to join a domain via the Active Directory option there. Again I fill in the FQDN, and the proper administrator/password acount info. Now I get a different error: "Invalid Domain An invalid Domain and Forest combination was specified. You should enter a fully qualified DNS name for the domain and forest (e.g., ads.company.com)." If anyone has any pointers or suggestions this would be appreciated.

  • Lotus NotesSQL Driver - cannot install

    Hi all, I need to install Lotus NotesSQL Driver (current version is 8.5) onto a virtual machine running XP. Here's what's I've done so far: I retrieved the file (CZOWFEN.zip) from the IBM website. I ran the exe. I then went to My Computer-Properties-Advanced-Environmental Settings-System Variables-Path and added "; c:\notessql" so the ODBC administrator could find Notes.ini (why the setup file didn't do this in the first place, i don't know). I opened up the ODBC administrator and tried to add a new System DSN to a Lotus DB. "The setup routines for the Lotus Notes SQL Driver (*.nsf) ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126" I redownloaded and reinstalled the driver (making sure I had the latest version 8.5). No luck. I checked the registry. All the file paths appeared to be correct. Per many, many similar cases on the internet, I tried several different variations of adding the various Lotus Notes folders to my PATH variables. Same error. I've done this setup on 5 different machines now with no problem. The only difference here is that this machine is virtual. Ideas?

    Hi there, I'm trying to get a local LAMP setup on my Ubuntu desktop. I'm successfully got PHP install but I'm having trouble with MySQL If PHP tries to connet to MySQL I get this error: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) in /var/www/testing.php on line 3 Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) If I try via command line I get much the same error: owen@desktop:~$ mysql ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (13) Weirdly "/var/run/mysqld" does not exist.     I'm attempting to install Visual Studio 2008 Professional from an ISO file downloaded from the msdn site, using DAEMON Tools Lite to Mount. On installation I'm getting the following error: Setup has encountered a problem while trying to copy: F:\Setup\VSSetupWatson\DW20.EXE I've had a look online for a solution and was recommended to reboot my system, however this has not helped. Why is this happening and how can I resolve the setup error?

  • VM on Windows 7 Virtual PC cannot access host’s DVD Drive

    I have a brand new clean machine with Windows 7 Professional 64bit and I've installed the patch that adds Windows Virtual PC (Windows6.1-KB958559-x64). I then go to Windows Virtual PC, create a new Virtual Machine. As soon as go to settings and try to map the VM DVD drive to the host's DVD drive I get "File may be in use by another process or you may not have sufficient access privilege". I am an administrator in that box... What am I missing?

  • Cannot delete unknown (orphaned) vm from ESX host inventory

    Hi, I'm having problems delete an unknown (orphaned) VM from an ESX 3.5 host. When I attempt to right click the VM I get the following error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". Steps taken so far. 1. Removed the host from the cluster 2. Removed the host from vCenter 3. Rebooted the host 4. Edited the file vmInventory.xml & cleared the file 5. Restarted services - mgmt-vmware restart Can anyone think of anything else that I can do to resolve this issue? Thanks guys.

    What I have? I have normal web application and it has 3 site collections with name, "PDirectory". Other than this I have only Central administration web application in the farm. What I want? I want to delete that web application, "PDirectory". What problem am I facing? I am not able to delete the web application. I get below error when I try to delete it but, the site collections got deleted! Error: An object in the SharePoint administrative framework, "SPWebApplication Name=XXX Parent=SPWebService", could not be deleted because other objects depend on it. Update all of these dependants to point to null or different objects and retry this operation.   • Cannot update Windows update

    When I try to get latest windows updates, windows (7 home) tells me that it needs to update the windows update. And that the Update window needs to be restarted in order to do that. After that restart I get error "WindowsUpdate 8007006D". Googlin that code doesnt' give me any more information.   • Cannot install virtualbox-ose-guest-dkms on Ubuntu 10.04

    I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 and kernel: 2.6.38-11-generic-pae. While using VirtualBox, i got this error: Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908) Please install the virtualbox-ose-dkms package and execute 'modprobe vboxdrv' as root. I tried to execute the command: sudo modprobe vboxdrv and got this error: FATAL: Module vboxdrv not found.
