• Is currying just a way to avoid inheritance?

  So my understanding of currying (based on SO questions) is that it lets you partially set parameters of a function and return a "truncated" function as a result. If you have a big hairy function takes 10 parameters and looks like function (location, type, gender, jumpShot%, SSN, vegetarian, salary) { //weird stuff } and you want a "subset" function that will let you deal with presets for all but the jumpShot%, shouldn't you just break out a class that inherits from the original function? I suppose what I'm looking for is a use case for this pattern. Thanks!

• Log files for group policy application deployment

  I'm looking into using group policy to deploy a couple of applications. I want to have the log of each installation written to a shared folder on a file server for tracking purposes. I can create the log if I pass the appropriate parameters. For example: msiexec /i Package.msi /l*vx c:\Package.log However using group policy for the deployment, you can't pass any parameters to the installation file. Is there anyway to specify the log file location in the process of creating the msi package?

• Java SortedMap to Scala TreeMap

  I'm having trouble converting a java SortedMap into a scala TreeMap. The SortedMap comes from deserialization and needs to be converted into a scala structure before being used. Some background, for the curious, is that the serialized structure is written through XStream and on desializing I register a converter that says anything that can be assigned to SortedMap[Comparable[_],_] should be given to me. So my convert method gets called and is given an Object that I can safely cast because I know it's of type SortedMap[Comparable[_],_]. That's where it gets interesting.   I have recently begun using Scala. I've written a DSL in it which can be used to describe a processing pipeline in medici. In my DSL, I've made use of symbols to signify an anchor, which can be used to put a fork (or a tee, if you prefer) in the pipeline.   This is a strange one. I have a Dev SQL Server which has the stored proc on it, and the same stored proc when used with the same code on the UAT DB causes it to delete itself! • How do I construct a Django reverse/url using query args?

  I have URLs like http://example.com/depict?smiles=CO&width=200&height=200 (and with several other optional arguments) My urls.py contains: urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^$', 'cansmi.index'), (r'^cansmi$', 'cansmi.cansmi'), url(r'^depict$', cyclops.django.depict, name="cyclops-depict"), I can go to that URL and get the 200x200 PNG that was constructed, so I know that part works. In my template from the "cansmi.cansmi" response I want to construct a URL for the named template "cyclops-depict" given some query parameters. I thought I could do {% url cyclops-depict smiles=input_smiles width=200 height=200 %} where "input_smiles" is an input to the template via a form submission. In this case it's the string "CO" and I thought it would create a URL like the one at top. This template fails with a TemplateSyntaxError: Caught an exception while rendering: Reverse for 'cyclops-depict' with arguments '()' and keyword arguments '{'smiles': u'CO', 'height': 200, 'width': 200}' not found. This is a rather common error message both here on StackOverflow and elsewhere. In every case I found, people were using them with parameters in the URL path regexp, which is not the case I have where the parameters go into the query. That means I'm doing it wrong. How do I do it right? That is, I want to construct the full URL, including path and query parameters, using something in the template. I'm aware that Server.Execute will pass along query parameters, but I'd like to pass data more generally. For instance: ' main.asp MyInclude("external.inc", Array("mykey", "myval")) ' external.inc Response.Write mykey I doubt I can get quite that far without reading the external fine, twiddling it, and executing, but I'd like to get as close as reasonably possible. Also, if possible, I'd prefer avoiding using the query passing option for security reasons.

As I know in .Net asymmetric RSA implementation private key RSAParameters parameters = (new RSACryptoServiceProvider()).ExportParameters(true) is a superset of public key. And using private key we can both encode and decode our data. But I need key only for decoding data. How to do it? I experimented on nulling RSAParameters fields, but RSACryptoServiceProvider object can't import such parameters.

• Define Default constructor Structuremap in a Generic Repository

  Hello guys, I have a generic IRepository that has 2 constructors, one have none parameters, other has the datacontext as parameter. I want to define to structuremap to aways in this case use the parameterless constructor. I want a way to create a parameterless contructor, other solutions that I have seen, they create a new Datacontext and pass it to the constructor that has parameters.
