    I'm trying to set $value1, $value2, $value3 entirely using tertiary operators. This is what it looks like without tertiary if ($chk1 == 20) { $value1 = true; if ($chk2 == 40) { $value2 = 100 ; $value3 = 300; } else { $value2 = 200 ; $value3 = 400; } } else { $value1 = false; } I can set $value2 and $value3, but not sure how to set $value1.   • Create a subtitle for menu items in Silverstripe CMS?

    Hi I'm using Silverstripe CMS on the "Simple" template. I'm wondering how to create subtitles for the menu items. The current navigation template is like so: <nav class="primary"> <span class="nav-open-button">²</span> <ul> <% loop $Menu(2) %> <li class="$LinkingMode"><a href="$Link" title="$Title.XML">$MenuTitle.XML</a></li> <% end_loop %> </ul> I'm thinking i could somehow edit $Menutitle.XML but how? Also the sub title should be displayed directly under the Title but as the same button. The SubTitle would need to have a different css rule so that it could be smaller. I know that the CMS has an area for me to edit the page titles which become the menu titles, would it be easy to add a subtitle to the admin like that or is there some other easier way? I only need to make a few of them.

  • A logical problem with two tables

    Hey guys, I created a list for fixtures. $result = mysql_query("SELECT date FROM ".TBL_FIXTURES." WHERE compname = '$comp_name' GROUP BY date"); $i = 1; $d = "Start"; while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { $odate = $row['date']; $date=date("F j Y", $row['date']); echo "<p>Fixture $i - $d to $date</p>"; } As you can see from the query, the date is displayed from the fixtures table. The way my system works is that when a fixture is "played", it is removed from this table. Therefore when the entire round of fixtures are complete, there wont be any dates for that round in this table. They will be in another table. Is there anyway I can run an other query for dates at the same time, and display only dates from the fixtures table if there isnt a date in the results table? "SELECT * FROM ".TBL_CONF_RESULTS." WHERE compid = '$_GET[id]' && type2 = '2' ORDER BY date" That would be the second query!

  • Problem getting response from server using cURL, file_get_contents, etc

    I am trying to get the response from a server, which is now not giving any response. I tried file_get_contents(), cURL, and tried getting the headers, but apparently the server is not responding. There are no headers returned or any response of any kind. Also, this happens when I try from my web server - it works fine in my local machine. The server I'm calling is an sms server, to use which they've given a url. The problem is only with this particular server. I get response while trying Google. So may be it's caused by the called server. What I wanna know is what could be (or how to find out) the reasons... Any advices?

    I am currently working on a widget-based website, built entirely on user socialization. Since a reputation system pays off for attracting users, I decided to implement one of these. Now, I would like to hear some solutions on how should this be implemented the right way (take, for example, Foursquare's badge system). Basically, I need to be able to do the following: have a badges table, where I can add, edit and delete badges; be able to enable and disable a badge; be able to introduce a new badge, but without writing new code - simply give some parameters to the add badge form regarding what should be followed in order for a user to receive a badge; be able to give badges in real time - meaning that whenever a user accomplishes whatever it needs to receive a badge, the system should know immediately to give the badge to that user; also, the system should not be overloaded with "badge listeners" - I believe interrogating each user request with every badge requirements is time consuming; These being said, I would like to hear your opinions on how to implement the right way a badge system (logic, database schema, methods etc.) Thank you very much!

    I am setting values in my database for tourneyID,Selected,Paid,Entered,date then separating each selection with a colon So I have a string that may look like this 187,S,,,09-21-2013:141,S,,,06-21-2013:144,S,,,05-24-2013 but it also could look like this 145,S,,,07-12-2013:142,S,,,05-24-2013:187,S,,,09-21-2013 and some times is looks like this 87,S,,,07-11-2013:125,S,,,06-14-2013 I am trying to find this sequence: 187,S,,,09-21-2013 I have data stored like that because I paid a programmer to code it for me. Now, as I learn, I see it was not the best solution, but it is what I have till I learn more and it is working. My problem is when using LIKE it returns both the 187 and 87 values $getTeams = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM teams WHERE (team_tourney_vector LIKE '%$tid,S,P,,$tourney_start_date%' OR team_tourney_vector LIKE '%$tid,S,,,$tourney_start_date%') AND division='$division'"); I tried this using FIND_IN_SET() but it would only return the the team id for this string 187,S,,,09-21-2013:141,S,,,06-21-2013:144,S,,,05-24-2013 and does not find the team id for this string 145,S,,,07-12-2013:142,S,,,05-24-2013:187,S,,,09-21-2013 SELECT * FROM teams WHERE FIND_IN_SET('187',team_tourney_vector) AND (team_tourney_vector LIKE '%S,,,09-21-2013%') Any thoughts on how to achieve this?

  • How to split the chance to display SWFs evenly among banner collection?

    Hi all: I am working on The ausdcf.org to try adding several banner ads in swf format to the top. Everything starts to work, but I've got several questions that need your help: The client chose not to go with Google AdManager, but prefer a "minimal approach" to do this task. What I am trying to do is sort of "mimicking" the way Google AdManager does for banners, that is, to split the chance of each particular swf to be shown to the visitor evenly among the banner collection. Definitely I can add some jQuery code to do this from client-side, a random number generator and if-else statement would work - just $.load() it! However, what if I'd like to make sure those disabled Javascript (is there any now btw?) still be able to see different swfs in each visit. Any suggestion on how to approach this?     I am trying to find offset of all occurrences with preg_match_all e.g. $haystack = 'aaaab'; $needle = 'aa'; preg_match_all('/' . $needle . '/', $haystack, $matches); $matches is Array ( [0] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [0] => aa [1] => 0 ) [1] => Array ( [0] => aa [1] => 2 ) ) ) It returns offset of first and second group of aa ("aa" "aa" "b") from the haystack, while I am expecting it to return "aa" starting at index 1 as well. Array ( [0] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [0] => aa [1] => 0 ) [1] => Array ( [0] => aa [1] => 1 ) [2] => Array ( [0] => aa [1] => 2 ) ) ) Is there a way I can fix the regex or use some other function (which accepts regex) to get this done? PS: I know strpos which can do this, but I have few more things to search for hence will go with preg_match_all.

    I have a main navigation at the top of the site. And a subnavigation at left of my site. For example: At the top there are these topics: Cars | Trees | Jobs | ... So when you click on "Jobs" there should be the subnavigation of "Jobs" at left, like... Construction Jobs Engineering Jobs Retail Jobs ... The first (top) navigation is easy to achieve: [[!Wayfinder? &startId=0 &level=1 ]] How can I realize the second navigation, so that only the documents are listed that are under the parent document?

We are going to have people come from a particular site during a acquisition campaign and was wondering how I could conditionalize a certain section of my site to display a thank you message instead of the sign up form as they would have had the opportunity to fill this out before coming to my landing page. I have seen solutions like: $referal = mysql_real_escape_string($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']); I would like to know if this is the best way to get this to work??? - okay this is what i think might work. The third party website that is referring people to our landing page once the form on that site has been filled out can push into the record a hidden input value of "www.sample.com" or whatever... then I can have something check the for that particular value and fire off the conidtional. Does that even sound right?

    In one of my forms I use the rich text editor from Yahoo!. Now i want to store the data from that textarea in a MySQL database. The user can enter anything in that textarea, e.g. many double or single quotes. How can I store that data? Normally we store by adding that data in one variable and then put that in sql, but the quotes cause problems.
