  • Will this class cause memory leaks, and does anything need disposing of? (asp.net vb)

    - by Phil
Here is the class to export a gridview to an excel sheet: Imports System Imports System.Data Imports System.Configuration Imports System.IO Imports System.Web Imports System.Web.Security Imports System.Web.UI Imports System.Web.UI.WebControls Imports System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts Imports System.Web.UI.HtmlControls Namespace ExcelExport Public NotInheritable Class GVExportUtil Private Sub New() End Sub Public Shared Sub Export(ByVal fileName As String, ByVal gv As GridView) HttpContext.Current.Response.Clear() HttpContext.Current.Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", String.Format("attachment; filename={0}", fileName)) HttpContext.Current.Response.ContentType = "application/ms-excel" Dim sw As StringWriter = New StringWriter Dim htw As HtmlTextWriter = New HtmlTextWriter(sw) Dim table As Table = New Table table.GridLines = GridLines.Vertical If (Not (gv.HeaderRow) Is Nothing) Then GVExportUtil.PrepareControlForExport(gv.HeaderRow) table.Rows.Add(gv.HeaderRow) End If For Each row As GridViewRow In gv.Rows GVExportUtil.PrepareControlForExport(row) table.Rows.Add(row) Next If (Not (gv.FooterRow) Is Nothing) Then GVExportUtil.PrepareControlForExport(gv.FooterRow) table.Rows.Add(gv.FooterRow) End If table.RenderControl(htw) HttpContext.Current.Response.Write(sw.ToString) HttpContext.Current.Response.End() End Sub Private Shared Sub PrepareControlForExport(ByVal control As Control) Dim i As Integer = 0 Do While (i < control.Controls.Count) Dim current As Control = control.Controls(i) If (TypeOf current Is LinkButton) Then control.Controls.Remove(current) control.Controls.AddAt(i, New LiteralControl(CType(current, LinkButton).Text)) ElseIf (TypeOf current Is ImageButton) Then control.Controls.Remove(current) control.Controls.AddAt(i, New LiteralControl(CType(current, ImageButton).AlternateText)) ElseIf (TypeOf current Is HyperLink) Then control.Controls.Remove(current) control.Controls.AddAt(i, New LiteralControl(CType(current, HyperLink).Text)) ElseIf (TypeOf current Is DropDownList) Then control.Controls.Remove(current) control.Controls.AddAt(i, New LiteralControl(CType(current, DropDownList).SelectedItem.Text)) ElseIf (TypeOf current Is CheckBox) Then control.Controls.Remove(current) control.Controls.AddAt(i, New LiteralControl(CType(current, CheckBox).Checked)) End If If current.HasControls Then GVExportUtil.PrepareControlForExport(current) End If i = (i + 1) Loop End Sub End Class End Namespace Will this class cause memory leaks? And does anything here need to be disposed of? The code is working but I am getting the app pool falling over frequently when it is in use. Thanks.

  • Is there a more elegant solution than an if-statement with no else clause?

    - by Jay
In the following code, if Control (the element that trigers Toggle's first OL) is not Visible it should be set Visible and all other Controls (Controls[i]) so be Hidden. .js function Toggle(Control){ var Controls=document.getElementsByTagName("ol",document.getElementById("Quote_App")); var Control=Control.getElementsByTagName("ol")[0]; if(Control.style.visibility!="visible"){ for(var i=0;i<Controls.length;i++){ if(Controls[i]!=Control){ Reveal("hide",20,0.3,Controls[i]); }else{ Reveal("show",20,0.3,Control); }; }; }else{ Reveal("hide",20,0.3,Control); }; }; Although the function [Toggle] works fine, it is actually setting Controls[i] to Hidden even if it is already. This is easily rectified by adding an If statement as in the code below, surely there is a more elegant solution, maybe a complex If condition? .js function Toggle(Control){ var Controls=document.getElementsByTagName("ol",document.getElementById("Quote_App")); var Control=Control.getElementsByTagName("ol")[0]; if(Control.style.visibility!="visible"){ for(var i=0;i<Controls.length;i++){ if(Controls[i]!=Control){ if(Controls[i].style.visibility=="visible"){ Reveal("hide",20,0.3,Controls[i]); }; }else{ Reveal("show",20,0.3,Control); }; }; }else{ Reveal("hide",20,0.3,Control); }; }; Your help is appreciated always.

  • Mysterious double execution of Click handler after change to Windows 2008 Server

    - by mjn
    After moving a Delphi 2009 application from a Windows 2003 / Citrix environment to a 64 bit Windows 2008 R2 environment (users now use RDP instead of Citrix), there are frequent runtime errors which are caused by a double exection of a menu item click handler. The first call of the event handler opens a modal form. Then the same event handler is triggered again and thus a runtime exception occurs since the visible form can not be made modal. The madExcept stack trace looks like this: main thread ($2dc): 004ffa88 +06c Ladelist.exe Forms TCustomForm.ShowModal 0052f4ff +0bb Ladelist.exe DB TDataSet.SetActive 008fc9a1 +089 Ladelist.exe u_ladeli 928 +16 TForm1.EditLoadingList 008fadec +070 Ladelist.exe u_ladeli 504 +5 TForm1.OpenLoadingListClick <----- 2 004d6e27 +0a7 Ladelist.exe Menus TMenuItem.Click 004d857f +0ef Ladelist.exe Menus DoClick 004d866b +087 Ladelist.exe Menus TMenu.IsShortCut 005001c1 +04d Ladelist.exe Forms TCustomForm.IsShortCut 004e8dc0 +068 Ladelist.exe Controls TWinControl.IsMenuKey 004e8f89 +011 Ladelist.exe Controls TWinControl.CNSysKeyDown 004e247e +2d2 Ladelist.exe Controls TControl.WndProc 004e6983 +513 Ladelist.exe Controls TWinControl.WndProc 004fb5e8 +594 Ladelist.exe Forms TCustomForm.WndProc 004e20a4 +024 Ladelist.exe Controls TControl.Perform 004856e0 +014 Ladelist.exe Classes StdWndProc 004e609c +02c Ladelist.exe Controls TWinControl.MainWndProc 004856e0 +014 Ladelist.exe Classes StdWndProc 775b00e3 +02b ntdll.dll KiUserCallbackDispatcher 008fc9a1 +089 Ladelist.exe u_ladeli 928 +16 TForm1.EditLoadingList 008fadec +070 Ladelist.exe u_ladeli 504 +5 TForm1.OpenLoadingListClick <----- 1 004d6e27 +0a7 Ladelist.exe Menus TMenuItem.Click 004d857f +0ef Ladelist.exe Menus DoClick 004d866b +087 Ladelist.exe Menus TMenu.IsShortCut 005001c1 +04d Ladelist.exe Forms TCustomForm.IsShortCut 004e8dc0 +068 Ladelist.exe Controls TWinControl.IsMenuKey 004e8e0d +01d Ladelist.exe Controls TWinControl.CNKeyDown 004e247e +2d2 Ladelist.exe Controls TControl.WndProc 004e6983 +513 Ladelist.exe Controls TWinControl.WndProc 004fb5e8 +594 Ladelist.exe Forms TCustomForm.WndProc 004e20a4 +024 Ladelist.exe Controls TControl.Perform 004e609c +02c Ladelist.exe Controls TWinControl.MainWndProc 004856e0 +014 Ladelist.exe Classes StdWndProc 775b00e3 +02b ntdll.dll KiUserCallbackDispatcher 753c3675 +010 kernel32.dll BaseThreadInitThunk

MichaelCrump.Net provides Silverlight Giveaways every month. You can also see the latest giveaway by bookmarking http://giveaways.michaelcrump.net . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DevExpress Silverlight Controls Let’s take a quick look at some of the software that is provided in this giveaway. Before we get started with the Silverlight Controls, here is a couple of links to bookmark for the DevExpress Silverlight Controls: The Live Demos of the Silverlight Controls is located here. Great Video Tutorials of the Silverlight Controls are here. One thing that I liked about the DevExpress is how easy it was to find demos of each control. After you install the controls the following Program Group appears complete with “demos” that include full-source.   So, the first question that you may ask is, “What is included?” Here is the official list below. I wanted to show several of the controls that I think developers will use the most. The Book – Very rich animation between switching pages. Very easy to add your own images and custom text. The Menu – This is another control that just looked great. You can easily add images to the menu items with a few lines of XAML. The Window / Dialog Box – You can use this control to make a very beautiful “Wizard” to help your users navigate between pages. This is useful in setup or installation. Calculator – This would be useful for any type of Banking app. Also a first that I’ve seen from a 3rd party Control company. DatePicker – This controls feels a lot smoother than the one provided by Microsoft. It also provides the ability to “Clear” the selection. Overall the DevExpress Silverlight Controls feature a lot of quality controls that you should check out. You can go ahead and download a trial version of it right now by clicking here. If you win the contest you can simply enter your registration key and continue using the product without reinstalling. Syncfusion User Interface Edition Before we get started with the Syncfusion User Interface Edition, here is a couple of links to bookmark. The Live Demos can be found here. You can download a demo of it now at http://www.syncfusion.com/downloads/evalstart. After you install the Syncfusion, you can view the dashboard to run locally installed samples. You may also download the documentation to your local machine if needed. Since the name of the package is “User Interface Edition”, I decided to share several samples that struck me as “awesome”. Dashboard Gauges – I was very impressed with the various gauges they have included. The digital clock also looks very impressive. Diagram – The diagrams are also very easy to build. In the sample project below you can drag/drop the shapes onto the content pane. More complex lines like the Bezier lines are also easy to create using Syncfusion. Scheduling – Another strong component was the Scheduling with built-in support for Themes. Tools – If all of that wasn’t enough, it also comes with a nice pack of essential tools. Syncfusion has a nice variety of Silverlight Controls that you should check out. You can go ahead and download a trial version of it right now by clicking here. Crypto Obfuscator The following feature set is what is important to me in an Obfuscator since I am a Silverlight/WP7 Developer: And thankfully this is what you get in Crypto Obfuscator. You can download a trial version right now if you want to go ahead and play with it. Let’s spend a few moments taking a look at the application. After you have installed Crypto Obfuscator you will see the following screen: After you click on Assemblies you have the option to add your .XAP file in: I went ahead and loaded my .xap file from a Silverlight Application. At this point, you can simply save your project and hit “Obfuscate” and your done. You don’t have to mess with any of the other settings if you don’t want too. Of course, you can change the settings and add obfuscation rules, watermarks and signing if you wish.  After Obfuscation, it looks like this in .NET Reflector: I was trying to browse through methods and it actually crashed Reflector. This confirms the level of protection the obfuscator is providing. If this were a commercial application that my team built, I would have a huge smile on my face right now. Crypto Obfuscator is a great product and I hope you will spend the time learning more about it. Silverlight Spy Silverlight Spy is a runtime inspector tool that will tell you pretty much everything that is going on with the application. Basically, you give it a URL that contains a Silverlight application and you can explore the element tree, events, xaml and so much more. This has already been reviewed on MichaelCrump.net. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks for reading and don’t forget to leave a comment below in order to win one of the four prizes available! • How does the new google maps make buildings and cityscapes 3D?

    - by Aerovistae
Anyone who's seen the new Google maps has no doubt taken note of the incredible amount of three-dimensional detail in select American cities such as Boston, New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. They've even modeled the trees, bridges and some of the boats in the harbor! Minor architectural details are present. It's crazy. Looking at it up close, I've found there's a rectangular area around each of those cities, and anything within them is 3Dified, but it cuts off hard and fast at the edge, even if it's in the middle of a building. The edge of the rectangle is where the 3D stops. This leads me to think it's being done algorithmically (which would make sense, given the scale of the project, how many trees and buildings and details there are), and yet I can't imagine how that's possible. How could an algorithm model all these things without extensive data on their shapes and contours? How could it model the individual wires of a bridge, or the statues in a park? It must be done by hand, and yet how could it be for so much detail! Does anyone have any insight on this?

  • WPF ToggleButton changing image depending on state

    - by mack369
    I would like to use ToggleButton in following way: There are 5 different images and each of them should be displayed depending on current state: button disabled button enabled, unchecked button enabled, unchecked, pointed by mouse cursor button enabled, checked button enabled, checked, pointed by mouse cursor I've found a simple example with two images on http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wpf/thread/28c36bd2-2ef7-4232-9976-2a0967140e32 , but how to change the image depending on "checked" property? The second question: how can I avoid creating different styles for each button in my application? I'm using about 20 different buttons and each of them has different set of icons. So far I'm using only one icon, below my code. Is it possible to have common code (style and template) and to define the source of images in section where I want to create button (like in section 3 of my code)? <ControlTemplate x:Key="ToggleButtonTemplate" TargetType="{x:Type ToggleButton}"> <Grid> <Border x:Name="ContentBorder" CornerRadius="4" BorderBrush="Transparent" BorderThickness="1" Background="{DynamicResource ButtonOff}"> <ContentPresenter SnapsToDevicePixels="{TemplateBinding SnapsToDevicePixels}" HorizontalAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" Margin="{TemplateBinding Padding}" VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}" RecognizesAccessKey="True"/> </Border> </Grid> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsPressed" Value="true"> <Setter TargetName="ContentBorder" Property="Background" Value="{DynamicResource ButtonOn}"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsChecked" Value="true"> <Setter TargetName="ContentBorder" Property="Background" Value="{DynamicResource ButtonOn}"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsEnabled" Value="false"> <Setter TargetName="ContentBorder" Property="Background" Value="{DynamicResource ButtonDisabled}"/> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="{DynamicResource BorderDisabled}"/> </Trigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> <Style x:Key="ToggleButtonStyle" TargetType="{x:Type ToggleButton}"> <Setter Property="Width" Value="64" /> <Setter Property="Height" Value="64" /> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Center"/> <Setter Property="VerticalContentAlignment" Value="Center"/> <Setter Property="Template" Value="{DynamicResource ToggleButtonTemplate}" /> </Style> <ToggleButton IsChecked="{Binding Path=IsLectorModeEnabled}" Command="{Binding CmdLector}" Style="{DynamicResource ToggleButtonStyle}"> <Image Source="{DynamicResource LectorImage}" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center" Stretch="None" /> </ToggleButton>

  • data validation on wpf passwordbox:type password, re-type password

    - by black sensei
    Hello Experts !! I've built a wpf windows application in with there is a registration form. Using IDataErrorInfo i could successfully bind the field to a class property and with the help of styles display meaningful information about the error to users.About the submit button i use the MultiDataTrigger with conditions (Based on a post here on stackoverflow).All went well. Now i need to do the same for the passwordbox and apparently it's not as straight forward.I found on wpftutorial an article and gave it a try but for some reason it wasn't working. i've tried another one from functionalfun. And in this Functionalfun case the properties(databind,databound) are not recognized as dependencyproperty even after i've changed their name as suggested somewhere in the comments plus i don't have an idea whether it will work for a windows application, since it's designed for web. to give you an idea here is some code on textboxes <Window.Resources> <data:General x:Key="recharge" /> <Style x:Key="validButton" TargetType="{x:Type Button}" BasedOn="{StaticResource {x:Type Button}}" > <Setter Property="IsEnabled" Value="False"/> <Style.Triggers> <MultiDataTrigger> <MultiDataTrigger.Conditions> <Condition Binding="{Binding ElementName=txtRecharge, Path=(Validation.HasError)}" Value="false" /> </MultiDataTrigger.Conditions> <Setter Property="IsEnabled" Value="True" /> </MultiDataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> <Style x:Key="txtboxerrors" TargetType="{x:Type TextBox}" BasedOn="{StaticResource {x:Type TextBox}}"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="Validation.HasError" Value="true"> <Setter Property="ToolTip" Value="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}, Path=(Validation.Errors)[0].ErrorContent}"/> <Setter Property="Validation.ErrorTemplate"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate> <DockPanel LastChildFill="True"> <TextBlock DockPanel.Dock="Bottom" FontSize="8" FontWeight="ExtraBold" Foreground="red" Padding="5 0 0 0" Text="{Binding ElementName=showerror, Path=AdornedElement.(Validation.Errors)[0].ErrorContent}"></TextBlock> <Border BorderBrush="Red" BorderThickness="2"> <AdornedElementPlaceholder Name="showerror" /> </Border> </DockPanel> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </Window.Resources> <TextBox Margin="12,69,12,70" Name="txtRecharge" Style="{StaticResource txtboxerrors}"> <TextBox.Text> <Binding Path="Field" Source="{StaticResource recharge}" ValidatesOnDataErrors="True" UpdateSourceTrigger="PropertyChanged"> <Binding.ValidationRules> <ExceptionValidationRule /> </Binding.ValidationRules> </Binding> </TextBox.Text> </TextBox> <Button Height="23" Margin="98,0,0,12" Name="btnRecharge" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Click="btnRecharge_Click" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Width="75" Style="{StaticResource validButton}">Recharge</Button> some C# : class General : IDataErrorInfo { private string _field; public string this[string columnName] { get { string result = null; if(columnName == "Field") { if(Util.NullOrEmtpyCheck(this._field)) { result = "Field cannot be Empty"; } } return result; } } public string Error { get { return null; } } public string Field { get { return _field; } set { _field = value; } } } So what are suggestion you guys have for me? I mean how would you go about this? how do you do this since the databinding first purpose here is not to load data onto the fields they are just (for now) for data validation. thanks for reading this.

  • WPF ListBoxItem double-click?

    - by David Veeneman
The WPF ListBox doesn't have a DoubleClick event, at least not as far as I can tell. Is there a workaround for this issue that would let me double-click on an item to have an event handler do something with it? Thanks for your help.

  • Is it possible for a WPF control to have an ActualWidth and ActualHeight if it has never been render

    - by DanM
I need a Viewport3D for the sole purpose of doing geometric calculations using Petzold.Media3D.ViewportInfo. I do now want to place it in a Window. I'm creating a Viewport3D using the following code: private Viewport3D CreateViewport(MainSettings settings) { var cameraPosition = new Point3D(0, 0, settings.CameraHeight); var cameraLookDirection = new Vector3D(0, 0, -1); var cameraUpDirection = new Vector3D(0, 1, 0); var camera = new PerspectiveCamera { Position = cameraPosition, LookDirection = cameraLookDirection, UpDirection = cameraUpDirection }; var viewport = new Viewport3D { Camera = camera, Width = settings.ViewportWidth, Height = settings.ViewportHeight }; return viewport; } Later, I'm attempting to use this viewport to convert the mouse location to a 3D location using this method: public Point3D? Point2dToPoint3d(Point point) { var range = new LineRange(); var isValid = ViewportInfo.Point2DtoPoint3D(_viewport, point, out range); if (isValid) return range.PointFromZ(0); else return null; } Unfortunately, it's not working. I think the reason is that the ActualWidth and ActualHeight of the viewport and both zero (and these are read-only properties, so I can't set them manually). (I have tested the exact same with an actual rendered Viewport3D, so I know the issue is not with my converter method.) Any idea how I can get WPF to assign the ActualWidth and ActualHeight based on my Width and Height settings? I tried setting the HorizontalAlignment and VerticalAlignment to Left and Top, respectively, and I also messed with the MinWidth and MinHeight, but none of these properties had any effect on the ActualWidth or ActualHeight.

  • Custom Checkbox style for WPF

    - by lorddarq
I would like to skin a wpf default checkbox to something custom. Since it does not really make sense to start off a entirely new control, i'd like to override the Windows Chrome template binding for the Bulletchrome sub component of the checkbox. However I cannot do this like I can with checkboxes for example. tried using something like this to override the default style, but it seems to not compile like this <Style x:Key="cb_BULLETSTYLE" TargetType="{x:Type BulletDecorator}"> <Setter Property="OverridesDefaultStyle" Value="true"/> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type BulletDecorator}"> <Border x:Name="Chrome" SnapsToDevicePixels="true" BorderBrush="{x:Null}" BorderThickness="0"> </Border> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsMouseOver" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Background" TargetName="Chrome" Value="#FF4C4C4C"/> </Trigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter>

I can set the relationship b/w View Model and view through following DataContext syntax: <UserControl.DataContext> <view_model:MainMenuModel /> </UserControl.DataContext> And I can also set the relationship b/w View Model and view through following DataTemplate syntax: <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type viewModel:UserViewModel}"> <view:UserView /> </DataTemplate> Please let me know what is the difference between the two ? Is the second XAML does not set the data context of a view ?

  • What is the WPF equivilant for the FlowLayoutPanel?

    - by Sargola
I am working on a WPF application (a one note clone which is called "note your life") where you can dynamically assign Tags to an entry (just as in virtually any web 2.0 app these days). for this I had in my windows forms prototype a FlowLayoutPanel that did the job very well. I want to have the tags float to the next line if there isn't enough space and get a scrollbar if needed. how can this be achieved with WPF? I played around with <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" FlowDirection="LeftToRight" ...> but this doesn't move the elements in the next line if needed. Any suggestions?

  • AutoCompleteTextView with custom list: how to set up onClick Listeners and getting the selected item

    - by steff
Hi everyone, I am working on an app which uses tags. Accessing those should be as simple as possible. Working with an AutoCompleteTextView seems appropriate to me. What I want: existing tags should be displayed in a selectable list with a CheckBox on each item's side existing tags should be displayed UPON FOCUS of AutoCompleteTextView (i.e. not after typing a letter) What I've done so far is storing tags in a dedicated sqlite3 table. Tags are queried resulting in a Cursor. The Cursor is passed to a SimpleCursorAdapter which looks like this: Cursor cursor = dbHelper.getAllTags(); startManagingCursor(cursor); String[] columns = new String[] { TagsDB._TAG}; int[] to = new int[] { R.id.tv_tags}; SimpleCursorAdapter cursAdapt = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.tags_row, cursor, columns, to); actv.setAdapter(cursAdapt); As you can see I created *tags_row.xml* which looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:paddingLeft="4dip" android:paddingRight="4dip" android:orientation="horizontal"> <TextView android:id="@+id/tv_tags" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_weight="1" android:textColor="#000" android:onClick="actv_item_click" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/cb_tags" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:onClick="actv_item_checked" /> </LinearLayout> It looks like this: So the results are displayed just as I'd want them to. But the TextView's onClick listener does not respond. And I don't have a clue on how to access the data once an item is (de-)selected. Behaviour of the list should be the following: tapping a CheckBox item should insert/append the corresponding tag into the AutoCompleteTextView (tags will be semicolon-seperated) tapping a TextView item should insert/apped the corresponding tag into the AutoCompleteTextView AND close the list. So please help me out. Thanks in advance, steff

  • Examples of WPF forms for usual CRUD scenarios

    - by MicMit
There are plenty of such examples shown for Silverlight at recent Microsoft conferences ( Creating amazing LOB applications in SL 2,3,4 ... ) . They even invented DataForms starting from Silverlight varsion 3. Basically I need an example of grid view ( maybe with possibility to filter, preferably DataGrid control ) from which we may update/delete selected record(s) or add new ones working against SQL Server database without service layer.

  • Binding the position and size of a UserControl inside a Canvas in WPF

    - by John
Hi. We have dynamically created (i.e. during runtime, via code-behind) UserControls inside a Canvas. We want to bind the position (Canvas.Left and Canvas.Top) and width of those sizable and draggable UserControls to a ObservableCollection<. How would we achieve this if the Usercontrol is contained in a DataTemplate which in turn is used by a ListBox whose DataContext is set to the collection we want to bind to? In other words, how do we bind a control's position and size that doesn't exist in XAML, but in code only (because it's created by clicking and dragging the mouse)? Notice that the collection can be empty or not empty, meaning that the size and position stores in a collection item must be correctly bound to so that the UserControl can be sized and positioned correctly in the Canvas - via DataBinding. Is this possible?

I have used the following template in my project: <DataTemplate x:Key="textBoxDataTemplate"> <TextBox Name="textBox" ToolTip="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}, Path=(Validation.Errors)[0].ErrorContent}" Tag="{Binding}" PreviewKeyDown="cellValueTextBoxKeyDown"> <TextBox.Text> <MultiBinding Converter="{StaticResource intToStringMultiConverter}"> <Binding Path="CellValue" Mode="TwoWay"> <Binding.ValidationRules> <y:MatrixCellValueRule MaxValue="200" /> </Binding.ValidationRules> </Binding> <Binding RelativeSource="{RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type y:MatrixGrid}}" Path="Tag" Mode="OneWay" /> </MultiBinding> </TextBox.Text> </TextBox> </DataTemplate> I used this template to create an editable matrix for the user. The user is able to navigate from cell to cell within the matrix and I would like to highlight the data in the selected textbox but it doesn't work. I called TextBox.Focus () and TextBox.SelectAll () to achieve the effect but nothing. The Focus () works but the text never gets highlighted. Any help is welcome and appreciated.

  • Blackberry - Custom EditField Cursor

    - by varun
Hi, I am new to Blackberry Development. This is my first Question for you people. I am creating a search box for my project. But it looks like blackberry doesn't have an internal api for creating single line Edit field. I have created a Custom Field by extending BasciEditField overriding methods like layout, paint. In paint i am drawing a rectangle with getpreferred width and height. But the cursor is coming at default position (top-left) in Edit Field. Can any body tell me how i can draw it where my text is(i.e in middle of Edit Field by calling drwaText()). Thanks,

  • How to bind a datatable to a wpf editable combobox: selectedItem showing System.Data.DataRowView

    - by black sensei
Hello Good People!! I bound a datatable to a combobox and defined a dataTemplate in the itemTemplate.i can see desired values in the combobox dropdown list, what i see in the selectedItem is System.Data.DataRowView here are my codes: <ComboBox Margin="128,139,123,0" Name="cmbEmail" Height="23" VerticalAlignment="Top" TabIndex="1" ToolTip="enter the email you signed up with here" IsEditable="True" IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True" ItemsSource="{Binding}"> <ComboBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=username}"/> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ComboBox.ItemTemplate> The code behind is so : if (con != null) { con.Open(); //users table has columns id | username | pass SQLiteCommand cmd = new SQLiteCommand("select * from users", con); SQLiteDataAdapter da = new SQLiteDataAdapter(cmd); userdt = new DataTable("users"); da.Fill(userdt); cmbEmail.DataContext = userdt; } I've been looking for something like SelectedValueTemplate or SelectedItemTemplate to do the same kind of data templating but i found none. I'll like to ask if i'm doing something wrong or it's a known issue for combobox binding? if something is wrong in my code please point me to the right direction. thanks for reading this

  • Acrobat Reader ActiveX in WebBrowser stealing focus [C#]

    - by Maciej
I'm using webBrowser.Navigate(url) control to display page. I noticed this action steals focus from current control (grid) and than I have problem to focus grid back (tired myGrid.Focus, .Select etc...) This is really annoying behaviour of browser... Does anyone knows how to prevent focus stealing by Browser or (if not) hot to force to focus control back ? EDIT: I've also tried webBrowser.DocumentCompleted event to focus back to grid EDIT 2 Good case to test this is openning PDF files webBrowser.Navigate(@"C:\TEMP\test.pdf") I believe this is ActiveX issue. On first glance it looks that this is not problem with focusing control but loosing entire Form focus... EDIT 3 I tried another approach: Form keyPress event: I thought I can capture form's keyPress and move focus from WebBrowser / AdobeReader ActiveX to my control. But surprisingly event is not fired! Looks Reader taken all control and there is no way to do anything programically until you do mouse click on (at least) form's caption Any advice (s) ?
