    I am trying to use notepad++ as my all-in-one tool edit, run, compile etc. I have jre installed, i have setup my path variable to .../bin directory. When I run my "Hello world" in notepad++ , I get this message: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: test_hello_world : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0 at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClassCond(Unknown Source) ......................................... I think the problem here is about versions, some version of java may be old or too new. how do i fix it? should i install jdk , and setup my path variable to JDK instead of jre? difference between PATH variable in jre or jdk?

  • How to find GTK version in PHP-GTK2?

    This one is driving me nuts. According to GTK's site, there exists GTK_MAJOR_VERSION, GTK_MINOR_VERSION, and GTK_MICRO_VERSION constants. However, none of these work: echo GTK_MAJOR_VERSION; echo GtK::MAJOR_VERISON; echo Gtk::GTK_MAJOR_VERSION; etc Also, Gtk::check_version(2,12,0) always fails even though I have a higher version. I'd like to simply get the actual version number and not rely on check_version, which seems unreliable. How can I do this? I need to do it within PHP, platform independent.

  • Calculating terrain height in 3d-space

    Hi I'm diving into 3d programming a bit and am currently learning by writing a procedural terrain generator that generates terrain based on a heightmap. I would also want to implement some physics and my first attempt at terrain collision was by simply checking the current position vs the heightmap. This however wont work well against small objects as you'd have to calculate the height by taking the heightdifference of the nearest vertices of the object and doing this every colision check is pretty slow. Beleive me I tried googling for it but there's simply so much crap and millions of blogs posting ripped-of newbie tutorials everywhere with basically no real information on the subject, I can't find anything that explains it or even names any generally used techniques. I'm not asking for code or a complete solution, but if anyone knows a particular technique good for calculating a high-res heightmap out of the already generated and smoothed terrain I would be very happy as I could look into it further when I know what I'm looking for.     I'm trying to reduce the runtime of a routine that converts an RGB image to a YCbCr image. My code looks like this: cv::Mat input(BGR->m_height, BGR->m_width, CV_8UC3, BGR->m_imageData); cv::Mat output(BGR->m_height, BGR->m_width, CV_8UC3); cv::cvtColor(input, output, CV_BGR2YCrCb); cv::Mat outputArr[3]; outputArr[0] = cv::Mat(BGR->m_height, BGR->m_width, CV_8UC1, Y->m_imageData); outputArr[1] = cv::Mat(BGR->m_height, BGR->m_width, CV_8UC1, Cr->m_imageData); outputArr[2] = cv::Mat(BGR->m_height, BGR->m_width, CV_8UC1, Cb->m_imageData); split(output,outputArr); But, this code is slow because there is a redundant split operation which copies the interleaved RGB image into the separate channel images. Is there a way to make the cvtColor function create an output that is already split into channel images? I tried to use constructors of the _OutputArray class that accepts a vector or array of matrices as an input, but it didn't work.

    Hello guys, I was doing a project as Universal binary for iPhone/iPad. I created the iPhone app side and I was doing to complete the iPad too. I noticed one thing, on iPad classes I use the UIPopoverController class, means that when I build now for 3.2 in the Simulator, it runs te iPad one and it works fine, BUT if I want to see the iPhone version app, means 3.1.3, It give me an error of framework missing in the iPad classes. I have no idea how to solve this problem because I cannot anymore see the iPhone version of the app and make changes. I can only remove all the iPad classes and after reimport again. thanks guys!

    i have 2 aspx webpages with vb.net code. On the first page, I have a text box, on first page that says "Enter Hobby", but its not a required textbox. So if the user clicks submit, it'll load up the second page. Now in the second page i have textbox "hobby" which has maxlength = 10. and in the vb.net code i have hobby.text = session("hobby"). if the user doesnt fill up hobby in first page, the session comes with 10 "spaces" since maxlength is 10. I tried hobby.text = TRIM(session("hobby"), but nothing happens. Any idea how i can lose the spaces if nothing is inputted?

At the moment I'm working on a typical, simple website that includes images: A few .html files and a .css file One folder full of photographs Another folder with the corresponding thumbnails Can I just put the whole lot in a repository? Or is there a better way I could apply Version Control to it? How should I deal with the images? edit: How well will it work with changes to the images? What if I decide to try and optimise my photographs or resize them. I wont be able to see what exactly changed about the images, should comments be enough to keep track of that?

    I've encountered this in multiple projects. As the code base evolves, some libraries, applications, and components get abandoned and/or deprecated. Most people prefer to keep them in. The usual argument is that the code does not really take any space, it can be left alone until needed again. So a repository slowly turns into a cesspool of legacy code, where it's hard to find anything. Some people delete old code, since it creates clutter, raises more questions for new people, and you can restore any old snapshot of the code base anyway. However you can't always find the old code if you don't know where to look, as none of the (common) VCS I know offer search over the entire repository including all historical revisions, and the only way to search the old files is to check out the revision where the deleted file exists. What would be a good approach to repository management?

I am aiming for a tabbed look, for example, when you click on link 2, the background around link 2 goes black and the black color "flows" into the main content page, sorry if this doesnt make sense, early AM here :D Thanks again

    In our project files, if there are binary files, such as .doc, .xls, .jpg, and we choose to not keep their past revisions (just keeping a latest version is ok), is there a way to tell SVN, Git, or Mercurial or some other tool to skip the revisions for these files or for a particular folder? Say, there is a 4MB .doc file that I need to check in hundred of times, but I don't really care so much about its past versions. So if the system keeps 100 revisions of it, that's already 400MB... checking in 300 times means 1.2GB for 1 file and that's not good. Only the latest version is good so that everybody can sync to it.

    I have an html table nested in an html table cell. I want the nested table to use the full size of the cell it is nested in. When I use firefox or google chrome I get the result I want but when I use Internet Explorer 8 (even if I use td style="height="100%") the height of the nested cell depends on it's content. As a result I get whitespace before and after my nested table.
