  I have a list of array that contains multiple arrays. each array has 2 index .. First, I want to loop the list. Then i want to loop the array inside the list .. How can i do that ? • Java loop to collect the second and third elements every three in an array

  I have a file with data in the form timestamp, coordinate, coordinate, seperated by spaces, as here; 14:25:01.215 370.0 333.0 I need to loop through and add the coordinates only to an array. The data from the file is read in and put into as String[] called info, from split(" "). I have two problems, I think the end of the file has a extra " " which I need to lose appropriately and I also want confirmation/suggestions of my loop, at the moment I am getting sporadic out of bounds exceptions. My loop is as follows; String[] info; info = dataHolder.split(" "); ArrayList<String> coOrds1 = new ArrayList<String>(); for (int counter = 0; counter < info.length; counter = counter+3) { coOrds1.add(info[counter+1]); coOrds1.add(info[counter+2]); } Help and suggestions appreciated. The text file is here but the class receives in a UDP packet from another class so I am unsure if this potentially adds " " at the end or not.

• Need help INSERT record(s) MySQL DB

  I have an online form which collects member(s) information and stores it into a very long MySQL database. We allow up to 16 members to enroll at a single time and originally structured the DB to allow such. For example: If 1 Member enrolls, his personal information (first name, last name, address, phone, email) are stored on a single row. If 15 Members enroll (all at once), their personal information are stored in the same single row. The row has information housing columns for all 'possible' inputs. I am trying to consolidate this code and having every nth member that enrolls put onto a new record within the database. I have seen sugestions before for inserting multiple records as such: INSERT INTO tablename VALUES (('$f1name', '$f1address', '$f1phone'), ('$f2name', '$f2address', '$f2phone')... The issue with this is two fold: I do not know how many records are being enrolled from person to person so the only way to make the statement above is to use a loop The information collected from the forms is NOT a single array so I can't loop through one array and have it parse out. My information is collected as individual input fields like such: Member1FirstName, Member1LastName, Member1Phone, Member2Firstname, Member2LastName, Member2Phone... and so on Is it possible to store information in separate rows WITHOUT using a loop (and therefore having to go back and completely restructure my form field names and such (which can't happen due to the way the validation rules are built.)

  This has confused me quite a bit, but it's also really interesting! I want to loop through a grid of 9 elements in an array, multiply them all by 1/9. Then, I want to find the sum of those 9 elements and replace each individual element's with the value calculated as the sum. After I've done this, I want to move on to the next nine elements. To clarify, I want all 9 elements to be changed to myVal, in the code below. So far I've got the loop within a loop bit, but I don't know how to then go back and replace each of the values with the sum of all of them combined. Here's my code:- previousx = 0; previousy= 0; for (int x = previousx; x < previousx+4; x++) { for(int y = previousy; y < previousy+4; y++) { y = y*(1/9); yVal += y; } } Any advice would, of course, be greatly appreciated.

• Calculations coming out to 0.0?

  A simple percentage calculation. It wont return a value except 0.0 and I think once or twice it returned 100.0%. Other than that it won't do a thing. • Why doesn't this for loop work?

  This is on Ubuntu 12.04 I'm trying to figure out how to get ffmpeg to do a batch conversion of FLACs to MP3, recursively. If I cd into a directory and use for f in *.flac; do ffmpeg -i "$f" -c:a libmp3lame -q:a 2 "${f/%flac/mp3}"; done that works perfectly fine. • Login loop in Snow Leopard

  I can't get out of a login loop of a particular admin user. After entering the password the login screen is shown again after about a minute. Other users work fine. It started happening after a simple reboot. Can you please help me? Thank you!   I've got a serious issue with my game loop. This loop varies in time with the platform and with the same hardware. • What are the pros and cons of a non-fixed-interval update loop?

  I am studying various approaches to implementing a game loop and I have found this article. In the article the author implements a loop which, if the processing falls behind in time, skips frame renderings and just updates the game in a loop (the last variant called "Constant Game Speed independent of Variable FPS"). I do not understand why it is acceptable to call update_game() in a loop without making sure the update function is called at a particular interval. I do not see any value in doing this. I would think that in my game I want to be sure the game is updated periodically with a known period. So maybe it is worthwhile to have two threads, one would call update periodically, and the other one would redraw the game, also periodically? Would this be a good and practical approach? Of course I would need to synchronise the threads.

  I will be brief and stick to what I know. This code for the most part works as it should. The only issue is in the iteration of the x and z loop. these to loops should set the range and yLABEL for the Y loop. I can get through a set and come up with the correct range after that things go bonkers. I know some of it has to do with not breaking out of x to set z and then back to x update the range. It should work z is found then x. the range between them is set for y. then next x but y stays then rang between y and x is set for y.. so on and so forth kinda like a slinky down the stairs. or a slide rule depending on how I set the loops either way I end up all over the place after a couple iterations. I have done a few things but each time I break out of x to set z , X restarts at the top of the range. At least that's what I think I am seeing. In the example sheet i have since changed the way the way the offset works with the loop but the idea is still the same. I have goto statements at this time i was going to try figuring out conditional switches after the loops were working. Any help direction or advice is appreciated. • Lockless queue implementation ends up having a loop under stress

  I have lockless queues written in C in form of a linked list that contains requests from several threads posted to and handled in a single thread. After a few hours of stress I end up having the last request's next pointer pointing to itself, which creates an endless loop and locks up the handling thread. The application runs (and fails) on both Linux and Windows. I'm debugging on Windows, where my COMPARE_EXCHANGE_PTR maps to InterlockedCompareExchangePointer. However I suspect that the problem might be in the way I find the end of the list. (I'm waiting for it to break as I'm writing this.) When I break the hanging program the handler thread loops in pop_request at the marked position. I have a valid list of one or more requests and the last one's next pointer points to itself. The request queues are usually short, I've never seen more then 10, and only 1 and 3 the two times I could take a look at this failure in the debugger. I thought this through as much as I could and I came to the conclusion that I should never be able to end up with a loop in my list unless I push the same request twice. I'm quite sure that this never happens. I'm also fairly sure (although not completely) that it's not the ABA problem. I know that I might pop more than one request at the same time, but I believe this is irrelevant here, and I've never seen it happening. (I'll fix this as well) I thought long and hard about how I can break my function, but I don't see a way to end up with a loop. So the question is: Can someone see a way how this can break? Can someone prove that this can not? Eventually I will solve this (maybe by using a tail pointer or some other solution - locking would be a problem because the threads that post should not be locked, I do have a RW lock at hand though) but I would like to make sure that changing the list actually solves my problem (as opposed to makes it just less likely because of different timing).

• QLogic QLE8152 won't link up with a fiber loop

  I have a Dell R710 running Debian Linux 6.0 (Squeeze). I installed a QLogic QLE8152 CNA in the PCI-E riser today and I have been trying to get the CNA's ethernet layer to come up after I put a fiber loop on it; I also scoped it with a light meter, and the SFP+ transceiver is getting the correct amount of light. The whole time I have been working on this problem, the lights on the CNA are blinking green at a rate of about 1 flash every 3 seconds. When I plug the fiber into a Juniper EX4500 10GE in a rack next to it, the Juniper's link stays down as well. I have to confess that this is my first wrangling with a CNA, so perhaps I'm doing something fundamentally wrong, but here is what I have found so far... First the basics... • What is the best solution for a blog with e-commerce?

  Hi! While there are loads of Joomla vs Wordpress posts out there, none address which is best suited to a blog with an attached online store. I anticipate having about 40 or so articles and want the full set of blogging features- tags, comments, talkback, sharing options, SEO functionality, support for ads etc. The online store will come later. I'll be the only contributor but I want to keep extensibility in mind with respect to multiple contributors, possible social network integration, and expanded categories of content down the line. I'm a developer with a lot of experience with C# and SQL Server but very little with web development, mostly in ASP.NET and basic HTML/CSS. I'm keen on learning as much as I can but don't want to reinvent the wheel or put the project on hold as I get up the learning curve. I have concerns with both Joomla and Wordpress. Joomla seems like the most extensible option but but all of the articles on blogging with Joomla I've read complain of shortcomings I'd rather not trade off. Wordpress on the other hand seems ideal for the blog aspect of the project, but a lot of people on this site recommend avoiding it for much more than that, including e-commerce. I really don't want to hack together a hybrid. Advice is much appreciated, thanks!

• DOM manipulation in PHP

  Hello everyone, Im trying to use the DOM in PHP to do a pretty specific job and Ive got no luck so far, the objective is to take a string of HTML from a Wordpress blog post (from the DB, this is a wordpress plugin). And then out of that HTML replace <div id="do_not_edit">old content</div>" with <div id="do_not_edit">new content</div>" in its place. Saving anything above and below that div in its structure. Then save the HTML back into the DB, should be simple really, I have read that a regex wouldnt be the right way to go here so Ive turned to the DOM instead. The problem is I just cant get it to work, cant extract the div or anything. Help me!! UPDATE The HTML coming out of the wordpress table looks like: Congratulations on finding us here on the world wide web, we are on a mission to create a website that will show off your culinary skills better than any other website does. <div id="do_not_edit">blah blah</div> We want this website to be fun and easy to use, we strive for simple elegance and incredible functionality.We aim to provide a 'complete package'. • jQuery code not executing when DOM is ready

  I have written a simple jQuery script that changes the hash tag of a link. I do this because I am using IntenseDebate comments in Wordpress but the comment link still links replaced id of the old comments. I'm using jQuery so that if javascript is enabled, the user can click on the comments link and it will take them to the IntenseDebate comments. If its not enabled it will take them to the traditional comments (because IntenseDebate requires javascript to function). The issue I'm having lies in this script to change the hash tag at the end of the link. Currently the URL "someurl.com/#respond" but I need the script to change it to "someurl.com/#comments". What is happening is that the script doesn't work, however I believe my syntax is correct so I decided to try copying and pasting the code into Firebug's console and the code executed perfectly. I could see that the link I was trying to change was now correct, and I could click on it and it worked as I desired. So what I don't understand is why the code is not executing when it is supposed to. I am using $(document).ready() and I have other jQuery on the page that executes just fine. I even tested it on a simple HTML page away from all the problems that might be caused by Wordpress and I received the same result. Does anyone know why this might be happening? • Weird vps server issue

  I have an unmanaged linux vps Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot). I have LNMP installed. Also php-fpm php-apc, varnish, memcache. I have (or rather had) several live sites on it. under normal load the server uses ~700 mb memory. But since last night its using only 20mb~ memory and a lot of the services seems to be down (according to htop) I only see nginx working and mysql starts up and goes does every few minutes on a loop. • MySQL, replacing &nbsp; with... nothing (delete those, please!)

  I'm trying to purge my WordPress content from "false" carriage return (CR). These are caused after a migration of my content, that now presents from time to time a &nbsp; code that makes the web rendering engine to "paint" a CR where I would like to be nothing. The paragraphs seem to have a double CR because of this, and look too far apart. I'd like to be able to make a MySQL query in order to get rid of that strings, but at the moment I haven't found the key. What I've tried is UPDATE wp_posts set post_content = replace (post_content,'&nbsp;',' '); But i get <p> </p> where before were the &nbsp; strings. This seems not the answer at all. Could it have to be with the ampersand, and in that case, should I use something like &amp;nbsp; or something similar?

• Find which php scripts cause high CPU with php-cgi

  Background: I maintain a server for a client who has half a dozen Wordpress sites on. They all have the W3 Total Cache plugin installed and eAcellerator is installed (might be APC). All the PHP sites run through a single batch of fastcgi php-cgi processes (it's actually php-fpm but I'm not sure if that makes a difference). Problem: php-cgi's CPU usage is quite high. Not terminally high but high enough to raise an eyebrow. The client wants to add more sites in the future and I want to avoid becoming CPU limited if I can help it. Question: Is there any way I can find the scripts or even just requests that are causing the high CPU. I realise I might not be able to do anything with the results but it would give me a chance.

  I have a clean, fresh OS of Ubuntu 12.04 on my VPS. My goal is to install WordPress. I want to install the latest version of Apache (2.4.3) but I'm encountering two problems. I'm following instructions like this & this. Both produced the same errors. The first I encounter after running "./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache2 --with-included-apr --with-included-apr-util " the system says "It must specify an install prefix, a build directory, or an apr-config file" The second I encounter immediately afterwards, when I attempt to run make or make install. "No targets specified and no makefile found. stop." I honestly have not been able to find a solution for either, and I'm now looking for some help from the community. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• mod_cache serving the wrong content

  I'm trying to use mod_disk_cache to speed up a web site that is running on WordPress. Whenever I enable it with CacheEnable disk / and the rest being the stock Ubuntu configuration I start to get the wrong results. When I see the main page it's fine, but when I go to a specific post I get a RSS feed instead. Like if the cache is returning the wrong content. I've disabled my RewriteRules as it seems mod_cache doesn't work with that. I'm not even sure where to start to debug such a thing. Any ideas?
