• Distributed Message Ordering

  I have an architectural question on handling message ordering. For purposes of this question, the transport is irrelevant, so I'm not going to specify one. Say we have three systems, a website, a CRM and an ERP. For this example, the ERP will be the "master" system in terms of data ownership. The website and the CRM can both send a new customer message to the ERP system. The ERP system then adds a customer and publishes the customer with the newly assigned account number so that the website and CRM can add the account number to their local customer records. This is a pretty straight forward process. Next we move on to placing orders. The account number is required in order for the CRM or website to place an order with the ERP system. However the CRM will permit the user to place an order even if the customer lacks an account number. (For this example assume we can't modify the CRM behavior) This creates the possibility that a user could create a new customer, and place an order before the account number gets updated in the CRM. What is the best way to handle this scenario? Would it be best to send the order message sans account number and let it go to an error queue? Would it be better to have the CRM endpoint hold the message and wait until the account number is updated in the CRM? Maybe something completely different that I haven't thought of? • Vim lint check - only show message if there's an error

  I have this line in my .vimrc, which means "when I save a .rb file, run it through ruby -c" (the ruby interpreter's error checking). autocmd BufWritePost *.rb !ruby -c <afile> When I save that file, I always see output at the bottom of the screen, so I get used to it and start ignoring it. What I want is to only see output if there are errors. I can see that when there are errors, after it says what they are, at the bottom, it says "shell returned 1." How can I modify this line so that it only shows a message if the shell returns 1? Is there a way to conditionally surpress output from a shell command run in vim?

• Outlook new message size nearly 1mb

  I've been using Outlook 2010 for several weeks with no issues. Suddently, a few days ago, the size of my outgoing messages got huge. Looking at thsi it appeas that a huge CSS style is beign created with around 14,000 definition for list items, making the message almost 1mb before I even typed in one word. Emails before that point were very small. Needless to say I can't remember changing anything, nor can anyone around here provide any possible explanation... Any ideas?

  I have a Linux box and I want to be able to telnet into it (port 77557) and run few required commands without having to access to the whole Linux box. So, I have a server listening on that port, and echos the entered command on the screen. (for now) Telnet 192.168.1.100 77557 Trying 192.168.1.100... Connected to 192.168.1.100. Escape character is '^]'. hello<br /> You typed: "hello"<br /> NOW: I want to create lot of commands that each take some args and have error codes. Anyone has done this before? It would be great if I can have the server upon initialization go through each directory and execute the init.py file and in turn, the init.py file of each command call into a main template lib API (e.g. RegisterMe()) and register themselves with the server as function call backs. At least this is how I would do it in C/C++. But I want the best Pythonic way of doing this. /cmd/ /cmd/myreboot/ /cmd/myreboot/ini.py (note underscore don't show for some reason) /cmd/mylist/ /cmd/mylist/init.py ... etc IN: /cmd/myreboot/_ini_.py: from myMainCommand import RegisterMe RegisterMe(name="reboot",args=Arglist, usage="Use this to reboot the box", desc="blabla") So, repeating this creates a list of commands and when you enter the command in the telnet session, then the server goes through the list, matches the command and passed the args to that command and the command does the job and print the success or failure to stdout. • show php error message on IIS 7

  I am using IIS as a webserver on my development machine for PHP webdevelopment. Or at least, I am trying to. When there is a syntax error in a PHP script and I open that file in my webbrowser, I just get an 503 "internal server error" and the default IIS error page for this error. Some browsers dont open that file at all, possibly because of the 503 HTTP Response Header. I would like IIS to act in that case just like the apache webserver: display the PHP file with the error anyway, so that the error message gets printed out. How can this be done? EDIT: PHP settings: display_errors is on and error_reporting is set to E_ALL

  Hi guys, I received alot of event logged in the event viewer with this message. I notice is always the same user id which encounters this error. The user id is use by an application to access the database. However, this account does not exits on this server. How do I trace the services/program use by this user id which causes these error messages? • curl XPUT returning HTTP 500 error message

  I have added the following changes in nginx configuration. server { listen 8080; root /usr/share/nginx/www; client_body_temp_path /tmp/; dav_methods PUT DELETE MKCOL COPY MOVE; create_full_put_path on; dav_access user:rw group:rw all:rw; } I have my nginx configured with --with-http_dav_module also. But when I am trying to running the command: $ curl -XPUT http://172.16.31.127:8080/test.html -d 'test' I am getting 500 Internal Server error. Can anyone help me out in solving this.

• Terminal Server Install -- Add/Remove Program Message on NonAdministrator Machines

  First time poster... My company uses terminal services for one of our remote offices. Data is kept on a different server. OS is Windows Server 2003. Last week, they needed to purchase a program and have it installed on terminal server, which was done. An administrator session was started, the TS was put into install mode and the program was installed. The TS was then put back into execute mode. The install did not require a reboot. Since then, when any user who does not have administrator privileges initiates a remote session and logs in they get a security message that says "Add / Remove programs has been restricted. Please contact your system administrator." The only option is to click OK, which everyone does and after that there are no issues. Anyone have any idea why this is happening and how to fix? Thanks!

• IIS get full error message for failed requests

  I have IIS set-up and serving my webservice. Unfortunately if the webservice throws an exception, all I get is a blue box with the title failed request. What options do I have to actually see what went wrong? I'd prefer to get the exception message and a stack trace. I already set-up "Failed Request Tracing" but the directory remains empty. If possible I'd prefer to get the stack trace in the browser directly. Just if this matters: I have an IIS 7.5 on a Win 7 64 Pro box. The Webservice is a WCF C# project.

• Outlook 2007 inbox message grouping like the Web App

  The Outlook Web App has this nice, default, conversation grouping. It hides all earlier messages in a conversation from the message list. When I click a mail, it shows the conversation thread in the reading pane. In Outlook 2007 I have tried grouping on received date, but it groups by minutes and not days. I've also tried grouping by conversation, but then I get this ugly tree in the list pane and I loose the "today", "yesterday", and vice versa groups. So how do I make Outlook 2007 look like the Outlook Web App? Illustration

• Best suited tool to document message processing done in C written program

  I am relatively new to UML and it's seems to be very vast I have a small program which basically receives messages on socket and then depending upon message ID embedded as first byte of message it processes the buffer. There are around 5 different message ID which it processes and communicates on another socket and has around 8 major functions. So program in short is like this. I am not pasting entire .c file or main function but just giving some bits and pieces of it so that to get idea of program flow. int main(int argc, char** argv) { register_shared_mem(); listen(); while(get_next_message(buffer)) { switch((msg)(buffer)->id) { case TYPE1: process1(); answer(); ..... } } } I want to document this is pictorial way like for Message type 1 it calls this function which calls another and which calls another. • Getting a Non-Genuine windows message on a Genuin Windows 7

  I have a Genuin Win7 enterprise on my Laptop. A few hours ago when I wanted to log into windows it did not accept my Password. I used the safe mode and it accepted the password I was using before this new password. It is the laptop for work and we have a changing password policy for every three months, so the pasword that I could use in SAFE MODE was the password I had for the last previous threee months. ... after that I used SYSTEM RESTORE and it reveretd it back to Yesterday ... so this time I could loging successfully with my current password. BUT It shows me a message that I am a victim of software counterfeiting and when I restarted the windows again and logged into windows, this time it is just a black desktop. weird...any ideas?

• Thunderbird message sorting - wrong dates

  Thunderbird 3 is having a problem with one of my IMAP accounts. When sorted by date, it displays 10-15 messages at the top (newest) when in fact they are very old message. (pre-2010, over a year old, some up to 6-7 years old) It's not game-breaking, but it is annoying, as I have to look past those to check for "new" messages. Is there any way to fix this? I'd considered re-downloading all the messages via IMAP, but that would take weeks (50,000 messages). When I open it, it displays the correct date, also when I use "View Source" the Date: header has the correct date (2009, 2006, etc). Is there any way to make Thunderbird realize that it should be sorted down with the rest of the 2006/2009 messages? None of my other IMAP accounts (many with the same host server) have this issue.

  I'm trying to write a Perl script that will work better with KDE's kwrited, which, as far as I can tell, is connected to a pts and puts every line it receives through the KDE system tray notifications, with the title "KDE write daemon". Unfortunately, it makes a separate notification for each and every line, so it spams up the system tray with multiline messages on regular old write, and for some reason it cuts off the entire last line of the message when using wall (One-line messages are also goners.). I was also hoping to make it so that it could broadcast across a LAN with thick clients. Before starting on that (which would require ssh, of course), I tried to make an ssh-less version to make sure it works. If I let other required fields empty then the message is displayed. Else, if this is the only field with an error, the message doesn`t get displayed.   Say I create a text element like this: $firstName = new Zend_Form_Element_Text('firstName'); $firstName->setRequired(true); Whats the best way to change the default error message from: Value is empty, but a non-empty value is required to a custom message? I read somewhere that to replace the message, just use addValidator(..., instead (NO setRequired), like this: $firstName = new Zend_Form_Element_Text('firstName'); $firstName->addValidator('NotEmpty', false, array('messages'=>'Cannot be empty')); but in my testing, this doesn't work - it doesn't validate at all - it will pass with an empty text field. Using both (addValidator('NotEmp.. + setRequired(true)) at the same time doesn't work either - it double validates, giving two error messages. Any ideas? Thanks!

• Edit my message before posting in Twitter with Twitter API and PHP

  I am having a site and I want to add a button in my site that will link to the twitter login page and after login it will post a message to the Twitter home page of the user. I used this code: http://www.matpal.com/2010/12/oauth-access-token-in-twitter-api.html and it works fine. My problem is that before posting the message I want to be able to edit it. So after login I want to see my message in an editing input (like retween do,here: http://www.mobilemarketer.com/cms/news/search/10263.html ) and post it after clicking Tweet.
