  • Avoid the collapsing effect on TreeView after updating data

    - by Manolete
    I have a TreeView used to display events. It works great, however every time new events are coming in and populating the tree collapse the tree again to the original position. That is very annoying when the refresh time is less than 1 second and it does not allow the user to interact with the items of the tree. Is there any way to avoid this behaviour? <TreeView Margin="1" BorderThickness="0" Name="eventsTree" ItemsSource="{Binding EventAlertContainers}" Background="#00000000" ScrollViewer.VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" FontSize="14" VirtualizingStackPanel.IsVirtualizing="True"> <TreeView.Resources> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type C:EventAlertContainer}" ItemsSource="{Binding EventAlerts}"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Width="20" Height="20" Margin="3,0" Source="Resources\Process_info_32.png" /> <TextBlock FontWeight="Bold" FontSize="16" Text="{Binding Description}" /> </StackPanel> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type C:EventAlert}" ItemsSource="{Binding Events}"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Width="20" Height="20" Margin="0,0" Source="Resources\clock2_32.jpg" /> <TextBlock FontWeight="DemiBold" FontSize="14" Text="{Binding Name}" /> </StackPanel> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type C:Event}"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Width="20" Height="20" Margin="0,0" Source="Resources\Task_32.png" /> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical"> <TextBlock FontSize="12" Text="{Binding Name}" /> </StackPanel> </StackPanel> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> </TreeView.Resources> </TreeView>

  • How to set the RelativeSource in a DataTemplate that is nested in a HierarchicalDataTemplate?

    - by Dabblernl
    I have the following XAML, that does all that it is supposed to, except that the MultiBinding on the FontSize fails on retrieving the Users. As you can see Users is an IEnumerable<UserData> that is part of the HierarchicalDataTemplate's DataContext. How do I reference it?? <TreeView Name="AllGroups" ItemsSource="{Binding}" > <TreeView.Resources> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type PrivateMessengerUI:GroupContainer}" ItemsSource="{Binding Users}" > <Label Content="{Binding GroupName}"/> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type PrivateMessenger:UserData}"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Username}" ToolTip="{StaticResource UserDataGroupBox}" Name="GroupedUser" MouseDown="GroupedUser_MouseDown"> <TextBlock.FontSize> <MultiBinding Converter="{StaticResource LargeWhenIAmSelected}"> <Binding ElementName="Root" Path="SelectedUser"/> <Binding RelativeSource="???" Path="DataContext.Users"/> </MultiBinding> </TextBlock.FontSize> </TextBlock> </DataTemplate> </TreeView.Resources> </TreeView>

  • WPF DataBinding to standard CLR properties in code-behind

    - by nukefusion
Hi everyone, Just learning WPF databinding and have a gap in my understanding. I've seen a few similar questions on StackOverflow, but I'm still struggling in determining what I have done wrong. I have a simple Person class with a Firstname and Surname property (standard CLR properties). I also have a standard CLR property on my Window class that exposes an instance of Person. I've then got some XAML, with two methods of binding. The first works, the second doesn't. Can anybody help me to understand why the second method fails? There's no binding error message in the Output log. <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:WpfApplication1" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300" DataContext="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}, Path=MyPerson}"> <StackPanel> <Label>My Person</Label> <WrapPanel> <Label>First Name:</Label> <Label Content="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType=Window, Mode=FindAncestor}, Path=MyPerson.FirstName}"></Label> </WrapPanel> <WrapPanel> <Label>Last Name:</Label> <Label Content="{Binding MyPerson.Surname}"></Label> </WrapPanel> </StackPanel> Edit: Ok, thanks so far. I've changed the second expression to: <Label Content="{Binding Surname}"></Label> I still can't get it to work though!

  • Mono WCF NetTcp service takes only one client at a time

    - by vene
While trying to build a client-server WCF application in Mono we ran into some issues. Reducing it to just a bare example we found that the service only accepts one client at a time. If another client attempts to connect, it hangs until the first one disconnects. Simply changing to BasicHttpBinding fixes it but we need NetTcpBinding for duplex communication. Also the problem does not appear if compiled under MS .NET. EDIT: I doubt (and hope not) that Mono doesn't support what I'm trying to do. Mono code usually throws NotImplementedExceptions in such cases as far as I noticed. I am using Mono v2.6.4 This is how the service is opened in our basic scenario: public static void Main (string[] args) { var binding = new NetTcpBinding (); binding.Security.Mode = SecurityMode.None; var address = new Uri ("net.tcp://localhost:8080"); var host = new ServiceHost (typeof(Hello)); host.AddServiceEndpoint (typeof(IHello), binding, address); ServiceThrottlingBehavior behavior = new ServiceThrottlingBehavior () { MaxConcurrentCalls = 100, MaxConcurrentSessions = 100, MaxConcurrentInstances = 100 }; host.Description.Behaviors.Add (behavior); host.Open (); Console.ReadLine (); host.Close (); } The client channel is obtained like this: var binding = new NetTcpBinding (); binding.Security.Mode = SecurityMode.None; var address = new EndpointAddress ("net.tcp://localhost:8080/"); var client = new ChannelFactory<IHello> (binding, address).CreateChannel (); As far as I know this is a Simplex connection, isn't it? The contract is simply: [ServiceContract] public interface IHello { [OperationContract] string Greet (string name); } Service implementation has no ServiceModel tags or attributes. I'll update with details as required.

  • Strange Behaviour in DataGrid SilverLight 3 Control

    - by Asim Sajjad
Here is the my Xaml Code. Here I have changed the Foreground of the cell depending on the current age of the person. <data:DataGridTemplateColumn Header="First Name" Width="150" MinWidth="150" CanUserReorder="False" SortMemberPath="FirstName"> <data:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate > <TextBlock Foreground ="{Binding Path=DateOfBirth,Mode=OneWay,Converter={StaticResource CellColor}}" Text="{Binding FirstName}" ToolTipService.ToolTip="{Binding FirstName}" FontFamily="Arial" FontSize="11" VerticalAlignment="Center" Margin="5,0,0,0" /> </DataTemplate> </data:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </data:DataGridTemplateColumn> <data:DataGridTextColumn Foreground ="{Binding Path=DateOfBirth,Mode=OneWay,Converter={StaticResource CellColor}}" Header="Last Name" Width="150" MinWidth="150" Binding="{Binding LastName}" CanUserSort="True" IsReadOnly="True" CanUserReorder="False"/> When I run the above code it return following Exception AG_E_PARSER_BAD_PROPERTY_VALU My question is that when I remove the Foreground converter from the DataGridTextColumn Column it runs fine As the Foreground converter is applied in the DataGridTemplateColumn Column which will not through excepction. But when I used same Converter to the DataGridTextColumn it throw execption why, can anyone know why is th is behaviour thanks in advance.

  • Change Rectangle Fill Based on ColumnWidth of a grid

    - by Coesy
    Essentially i want to do as the title says, if the columnwidth is .50 then the rectangle should be red, if it's .75 then it should be amber, and if it's 1 then it should be green. I thought I could achieve this with DataTriggers but for some reason I am getting "Object Reference Not Set To An Instance Of An Object" error, here is my code, am I missing something here? FYI the width property will be changed in the backend through a timer_tick event. <Grid x:Name="Grid1" Width="300" Height="30"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition x:Name="MyColumn1" Width=".50*"></ColumnDefinition> <ColumnDefinition x:Name="MyColumn2" Width=".50*"></ColumnDefinition> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Grid.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding ElementName=MyColumn1,Path=Width}" Value=".50*"> <Setter TargetName="rect" Property="Fill" Value="Red"></Setter> </DataTrigger> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding ElementName=MyColumn1,Path=Width}" Value=".75*"> <Setter TargetName="rect" Property="Fill" Value="Yellow"></Setter> </DataTrigger> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding ElementName=MyColumn1,Path=Width}" Value="1"> <Setter TargetName="rect" Property="Fill" Value="Green"></Setter> </DataTrigger> </Grid.Triggers> <Rectangle x:Name="rect" Grid.Column="0" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"></Rectangle> <Rectangle Grid.Column="1" Fill="Blue"></Rectangle> </Grid>

  • Silverlight - WCF Enable Binary Encoding

    - by Villager
Hello, I have a WCF service that is returning a lot of data. I want to compress that information so I thought that using BinaryEncoding would be appropriate. Currently, I have a binding setup in my web.config as follows: <binding name="myCustomBinding" closeTimeout="00:05:00" openTimeout="00:05:00" receiveTimeout="00:05:00" sendTimeout="00:05:00"> <binaryMessageEncoding /> <httpTransport maxReceivedMessageSize="8388608" maxBufferSize="8388608"> <extendedProtectionPolicy policyEnforcement="Never" /> </httpTransport> </binding> In my ServiceReferences.clientconfig file, I have the following binding settings: <binding name="CustomBinding_MyService"> <httpTransport maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647" maxBufferSize="2147483647"> <extendedProtectionPolicy policyEnforcement="Never" /> </httpTransport> </binding> Oddly, this configuration will not work. As soon as I remove the <binaryMessageEncoding /> line from the web.config, everything works fine. My question is, how do I use binary message encoding? Is there something I need to configure in my ServiceReferences.clientconfig? Thank you

  • How to refactor models without breaking WPF views?

    - by Tim Murphy
I've just started learning WPF and like the power of databinding it presents; that is ignoring the complexity and confusion for a noob. My concern is how do you safely refactor your models/viewmodels without breaking the views that use them? Take the following snippet of a view for example: <Grid> <ListView ItemsSource="{Binding Contacts}"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="First Name" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=FirstName}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="Last Name" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=FirstName}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="DOB" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=DateOfBirth}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="# Pets" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=NumberOfPets}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="Male" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=IsMale}"/> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> </Grid> The list is bound to the Contacts property, IList(Of Contact), of the windows DataSource and each of the properties for a Contact is bound to a GridViewColumn. Now if I change the name of the NumberOfPets property in the Contact model to PetCount the view will break. How do I prevent the view breaking?

  • How can I incorporate a data bound list of MenuItems to another MenuItem in WPF?

    - by Julien Poulin
    I have a 'File' MenuItem were I would like to display a list of recently opened files. Here is the xaml I have now: <MenuItem Header="File}"> <MenuItem Header="Preferences..." Command="{Binding ShowOptionsViewCommand}" /> <Separator /> <ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding RecentFiles}"> <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <MenuItem Header="{Binding DisplayPath}" CommandParameter="{Binding}" Command="{Binding Path=DataContext.OpenRecentFileCommand, RelativeSource={RelativeSource Mode=FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type Window}}}"> </MenuItem> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> </ItemsControl> <Separator /> <MenuItem Header="Exit" Command="{Binding CloseCommand}" /> </MenuItem> However, when I use this code, there is a weird offset around the MenuItems and it looks like there is a container around them. How can I get rid of that? Here is a screenshot of what it looks like:

  • Debugging scripts loaded with GroovyShell (in eclipse)

    - by MSh
    I am working with eclipse and groovy plug in. I am building a test harness to debug and test groovy scripts. The scripts are really simple but long, most of them just if/else/return. I figured out that I can call them using GroovyShell and Bindings to pass in the values. The problem is that, while I can call the script and get the results just fine, I CAN NOT step in there with the debugger. Breakpoints in those scripts are not active. Is there a way to debug the scripts? Maybe I should use something other than GroovyShell? I really don't want to modify the scripts by wrapping them into functions, and then calling those functions from my test classes. That's how I am using Binding and GroovyShell: def binding = new Binding(); binding.lineList = [list1]; binding.count = 5; def shell = new GroovyShell(binding); def result = shell.evaluate(new File("src/Rules/checkLimit.groovy"));

  • Connect to QuickBooks from PowerBuilder using RSSBus ADO.NET Data Provider

    - by dataintegration
The RSSBus ADO.NET providers are easy-to-use, standards based controls that can be used from any platform or development technology that supports Microsoft .NET, including Sybase PowerBuilder. In this article we show how to use the RSSBus ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks in PowerBuilder. A similar approach can be used from PowerBuilder with other RSSBus ADO.NET Data Providers to access data from Salesforce, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Google, OData, etc. In this article we will show how to create a basic PowerBuilder application that performs CRUD operations using the RSSBus ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks. Step 1: Open PowerBuilder and create a new WPF Window Application solution. Step 2: Add all the Visual Controls needed for the connection properties. Step 3: Add the DataGrid control from the .NET controls. Step 4:Configure the columns of the DataGrid control as shown below. The column bindings will depend on the table. <DataGrid AutoGenerateColumns="False" Margin="13,249,12,14" Name="datagrid1" TabIndex="70" ItemsSource="{Binding}"> <DataGrid.Columns> <DataGridTextColumn x:Name="idColumn" Binding="{Binding Path=ID}" Header="ID" Width="SizeToHeader" /> <DataGridTextColumn x:Name="nameColumn" Binding="{Binding Path=Name}" Header="Name" Width="SizeToHeader" /> ... </DataGrid.Columns> </DataGrid> Step 5:Add a reference to the RSSBus ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks assembly. Step 6:Optional: Set the QBXML Version to 6. Some of the tables in QuickBooks require a later version of QuickBooks to support updates and deletes. Please check the help for details. Connect the DataGrid: Once the visual elements have been configured, developers can use standard ADO.NET objects like Connection, Command, and DataAdapter to populate a DataTable with the results of a SQL query: System.Data.RSSBus.QuickBooks.QuickBooksConnection conn conn = create System.Data.RSSBus.QuickBooks.QuickBooksConnection(connectionString) System.Data.RSSBus.QuickBooks.QuickBooksCommand comm comm = create System.Data.RSSBus.QuickBooks.QuickBooksCommand(command, conn) System.Data.DataTable table table = create System.Data.DataTable System.Data.RSSBus.QuickBooks.QuickBooksDataAdapter dataAdapter dataAdapter = create System.Data.RSSBus.QuickBooks.QuickBooksDataAdapter(comm) dataAdapter.Fill(table) datagrid1.ItemsSource=table.DefaultView The code above can be used to bind data from any query (set this in command), to the DataGrid. The DataGrid should have the same columns as those returned from the SELECT statement. PowerBuilder Sample Project The included sample project includes the steps outlined in this article. You will also need the QuickBooks ADO.NET Data Provider to make the connection. You can download a free trial here.

  • MVVM and Animations in Silverlight

    - by Aligned
    I wanted to spin an icon to show progress to my user while some content was downloading. I'm using MVVM (aren't you) and made a satisfactory Storyboard to spin the icon. However, it took longer than expected to trigger that animation from my ViewModel's property.I used a combination of the GoToState action and the DataTrigger from the Microsoft.Expression.Interactions dll as described here.Then I had problems getting it to start until I found this approach that saved the day. The DataTrigger didn't bind right away because "it doesn’t change visual state on load is because the StateTarget property of the GotoStateAction is null at the time the DataTrigger fires.". Here's my XAML, hopefully you can fill in the rest.<Image x:Name="StatusIcon" AutomationProperties.AutomationId="StatusIcon" Width="16" Height="16" Stretch="Fill" Source="inProgress.png" ToolTipService.ToolTip="{Binding StatusTooltip}"> <i:Interaction.Triggers> <utilitiesBehaviors:DataTriggerWhichFiresOnLoad Value="True" Binding="{Binding IsDownloading, Mode=OneWay, TargetNullValue=True}"> <ei:GoToStateAction StateName="Downloading" /> </utilitiesBehaviors:DataTriggerWhichFiresOnLoad> <utilitiesBehaviors:DataTriggerWhichFiresOnLoad Value="False" Binding="{Binding IsDownloading, Mode=OneWay, TargetNullValue=True}"> <ei:GoToStateAction StateName="Complete"/> </utilitiesBehaviors:DataTriggerWhichFiresOnLoad> </i:Interaction.Triggers> <Image.Projection> <PlaneProjection/> </Image.Projection> <VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups> <VisualStateGroup x:Name="VisualStateGroup"> <VisualStateGroup.Transitions> <VisualTransition GeneratedDuration="0" To="Downloading"> <VisualTransition.GeneratedEasingFunction> <QuadraticEase EasingMode="EaseInOut"/> </VisualTransition.GeneratedEasingFunction> <Storyboard RepeatBehavior="Forever"> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.Projection).(PlaneProjection.RotationZ)" Storyboard.TargetName="StatusIcon"> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="0:0:1.5" Value="-360"/> <EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="0:0:2" Value="-360"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </VisualTransition> <VisualTransition From="Downloading" GeneratedDuration="0"/> </VisualStateGroup.Transitions> <VisualState x:Name="Downloading"/> <VisualState x:Name="Complete"/> </VisualStateGroup> </VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups></Image>MVVMAnimations.zip

  • WPF storyboard animation issue when using VisualBrush

    - by Flack
Hey guys, I was playing around with storyboards, a flipping animation, and visual brushes. I have encountered an issue though. Below is the xaml and code-behind of a small sample I quickly put together to try to demonstrate the problem. When you first start the app, you are presented with a red square and two buttons. If you click the "Flip" button, the red square will "flip" over and a blue one will appear. In reality, all that is happening is that the scale of the width of the StackPanel that the red square is in is being decreased until it reaches zero and then the StackPanel where a blue square is, whose width is initially scaled to zero, has its width increased. If you click the "Flip" button a few times, the animation looks ok and smooth. Now, if you hit the "Reflection" button, a reflection of the red/blue buttons is added to their respective StackPanels. Hitting the "Flip" button now will still cause the flip animation but it is no longer a smooth animation. The StackPanels width often does not shrink to zero. The width shrinks somewhat but then just stops before being completely invisible. Then the other StackPanel appears as usual. The only thing that changed was adding the reflection, which is just a VisualBrush. Below is the code. Does anyone have any idea why the animations are different between the two cases (stalling in the second case)? Thanks. <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xml:lang="en-US" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2006" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" mc:Ignorable="d" x:Class="WpfFlipTest.Window1" x:Name="Window" Title="Window1" Width="214" Height="224"> <Window.Resources> <Storyboard x:Key="sbFlip"> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetName="redStack" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)"> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.4" Value="0"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00.4" Storyboard.TargetName="blueStack" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)"> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.8" Value="1"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> <Storyboard x:Key="sbFlipBack"> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetName="blueStack" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)"> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.4" Value="0"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00.4" Storyboard.TargetName="redStack" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)"> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.8" Value="1"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </Window.Resources> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="Gray"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <StackPanel Name="redStack" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" RenderTransformOrigin="0.5,0.5"> <StackPanel.RenderTransform> <ScaleTransform/> </StackPanel.RenderTransform> <Border Name="redBorder" BorderBrush="Transparent" BorderThickness="4" Width="Auto" Height="Auto"> <Button Margin="0" Name="redButton" Height="75" Background="Red" Width="105" /> </Border> <Border Width="{Binding ElementName=redBorder, Path=ActualWidth}" Height="{Binding ElementName=redBorder, Path=ActualHeight}" Opacity="0.2" BorderBrush="Transparent" BorderThickness="4" Name="redRefelction" Visibility="Collapsed"> <Border.OpacityMask> <LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="0,0" EndPoint="0,1"> <LinearGradientBrush.GradientStops> <GradientStop Offset="0" Color="Black"/> <GradientStop Offset=".6" Color="Transparent"/> </LinearGradientBrush.GradientStops> </LinearGradientBrush> </Border.OpacityMask> <Border. Background> <VisualBrush Visual="{Binding ElementName=redButton}"> <VisualBrush.Transform> <ScaleTransform ScaleX="1" ScaleY="-1" CenterX="52.5" CenterY="37.5" /> </VisualBrush.Transform> </VisualBrush> </Border.Background> </Border> </StackPanel> <StackPanel Name="blueStack" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" RenderTransformOrigin="0.5,0.5"> <StackPanel.RenderTransform> <ScaleTransform ScaleX="0"/> </StackPanel.RenderTransform> <Border Name="blueBorder" BorderBrush="Transparent" BorderThickness="4" Width="Auto" Height="Auto"> <Button Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" Margin="0" Width="105" Background="Blue" Name="blueButton" Height="75"/> </Border> <Border Width="{Binding ElementName=blueBorder, Path=ActualWidth}" Height="{Binding ElementName=blueBorder, Path=ActualHeight}" Opacity="0.2" BorderBrush="Transparent" BorderThickness="4" Name="blueRefelction" Visibility="Collapsed"> <Border.OpacityMask> <LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="0,0" EndPoint="0,1"> <LinearGradientBrush.GradientStops> <GradientStop Offset="0" Color="Black"/> <GradientStop Offset=".6" Color="Transparent"/> </LinearGradientBrush.GradientStops> </LinearGradientBrush> </Border.OpacityMask> <Border. Background> <VisualBrush Visual="{Binding ElementName=blueButton}"> <VisualBrush.Transform> <ScaleTransform ScaleX="1" ScaleY="-1" CenterX="52.5" CenterY="37.5" /> </VisualBrush.Transform> </VisualBrush> </Border.Background> </Border> </StackPanel> <Button Grid.Row="1" Click="FlipButton_Click" Height="19.45" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="76">Flip</Button> <Button Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" Click="ReflectionButton_Click" Height="19.45" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="76">Reflection</Button> </Grid> </Window> Here are the button click handlers: using System; } bool flipped = false; private void FlipButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { Storyboard sbFlip = (Storyboard)Resources["sbFlip"]; Storyboard sbFlipBack = (Storyboard)Resources["sbFlipBack"]; if (flipped) { sbFlipBack.Begin(); flipped = false; } else { sbFlip.Begin(); flipped = true; } } bool reflection = false; private void ReflectionButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { if (reflection) { reflection = false; redRefelction.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed; blueRefelction.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed; } else { reflection = true; redRefelction.Visibility = Visibility.Visible; blueRefelction.Visibility = Visibility.Visible; } } } } UPDATE: I have been testing this some more to try to find out what is causing the issue I am seeing and I believe I found what is causing the issue. Below I have pasted new xaml and code-behind. The new sample below is very similar to the original sample, with a few minor modifications. The xaml basically consists of two stack panels, each containing two borders. The second border in each stack panel is a visual brush (a reflection of the border above it). Now, when I click the "Flip" button, one stack panel gets its ScaleX reduced to zero, while the second stack panel, whose initial ScaleX is zero, gets its ScaleX increased to 1. This animation gives the illusion of flipping. There are also two textblocks which display the scale factor of each stack panel. I added those to try to diagnose my issue. The issue is (as described in the oringal post) that the flipping animation is not smooth. Every time I hit the flip button, the animation starts but whenever the ScaleX factor gets to around .14 to .16, the animation looks like it stalls and the stack panels never have there ScaleX reduced to zero, so they never totally disappear. Now, the strange thing is that if I change the Width/Height properties of the "frontBorder" and "backBorder" borders defined below to use explict values instead of Auto, such as Width=105 and Height=75 (to match the button in the border) everything works fine. The animation stutters the first two or three times I run it but after that the flips are smooth and flawless. (BTW, when an animation is run for the first time, is there something going on in the background, some sort of initialization, that causes it to be a little slow the first time?) Is it possible that the Auto Width/Height of the borders are causing the issue? I can reproduce it everytime but I am not sure why Auto Width/Height would be a problem. Below is the sample. • WCF MaxReceivedMessageSize property not taking

    - by Steve Syfuhs
    Searched with no luck... I keep getting The maximum message size quota for incoming messages (65536) has been exceeded. To increase the quota, use the MaxReceivedMessageSize property on the appropriate binding element. It makes sense, so I go into both Server and client config and make the change: Client <system.serviceModel> <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload" closeTimeout="00:01:00" openTimeout="00:01:00" receiveTimeout="00:10:00" sendTimeout="00:01:00" transferMode="Streamed" messageEncoding="Text" maxBufferSize="65536" maxReceivedMessageSize="67108864"> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> <client> <endpoint address="http://localhost/services/FileUpload.svc" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload" contract="CFTW.FileUpload.IFileUpload" name="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload" /> </client> </system.serviceModel> Server <system.serviceModel> <behaviors> <serviceBehaviors> <behavior name=""> <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="true" /> <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="false" /> </behavior> </serviceBehaviors> </behaviors> <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload" transferMode="Streamed" messageEncoding="Text" maxBufferSize="67108864" maxBufferPoolSize="67108864" maxReceivedMessageSize="67108864"> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> <services> <service name="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload"> <endpoint address="~/services/FileUpload.svc" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload" contract="CFTW.FileUpload.IFileUpload"></endpoint> </service> </services> <serviceHostingEnvironment multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="true" /> </system.serviceModel> I'm not sure why it's not working (otherwise I'd fix it:)). It's running on .NET 4.0 RC.

  • Displaying FontFamily in Combobox

    - by Torsten
Hi. My goal is to manipulate the text-styles of my application via DependencyProperties. I got a diagram in which the texts are to be manipulated in size, fontfamily, color, etc. So I'd like to use an interface similar to a rich text editor like Word. I'm using this code in my TextStyleVM http://shevaspace.blogspot.com/2006/12/i-have-some-fun-with-formattedtext_14.html So I have a FontFamilyProperty and a Getter and Setter for it: public static DependencyProperty FontFamilyProperty = DependencyProperty.Register( "FontFamily", typeof(FontFamily), typeof(OutlinedText), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata( SystemFonts.MessageFontFamily, FrameworkPropertyMetadataOptions.AffectsRender | FrameworkPropertyMetadataOptions.AffectsMeasure), new ValidateValueCallback(IsValidFontFamily)); public FontFamily FontFamily { get { return (FontFamily)base.GetValue(FontFamilyProperty); } set { base.SetValue(FontFamilyProperty, value); } } Then there is a ToStyle method, which sets the style for the labels of the diagram, which are to be manipulated: Style style = new Style(); Binding fontFamilyBinding = new Binding("FontFamily"); fontFamilyBinding.Source = this; Setter fontFamilySetter = new Setter(); fontFamilySetter.Property = TextBlock.FontFamilyProperty; fontFamilySetter.Value = fontFamilyBinding; style.Setters.Add(fontFamilySetter); return style; Now this works for a TextBox. The textbox displays the current FontFamily, and if I enter a new, valid FontFamily like Arial into the textbox the FontFamily of the labels are changed. However, what I'd like to have is a combobox, which displays the SystemFonts and where I can choose one FontFamily for my labels. However, the binding doesn't seem to work. Neither the system fonts nor the current fonts of the labels are displayed. The combobox is just empty. This is my xaml: <r:RibbonLabel Content="FontFamily" /> <!--these do not work--> <r:RibbonComboBox SelectedItem="{Binding FontFamily}"/> <r:RibbonComboBox ItemsSource="{Binding FontFamily}"/> <!--this works--> <r:RibbonTextBox Text="{Binding FontFamily}"/> Now, I assume I have to set a different Setter for a ComboBox in the ToStyle Method. But I have no clue, which one. Maybe someting like this: fontFamilySetter.Property = ComboBox.ItemSource; However, if I set that Property, the TextBox still works. So is this the wrong place to start at? I'd also be grateful if someone could hint me to some documentation about using these Style-, Setter-, Binding-key-words, which are used in the ToStyle method, since this is somebody elses code I'm working with.

  • Windows Service Hosting WCF Objects over SSL (https) - Custom JSON Error Handling Doesn't Work

    - by bpatrick100
I will first show the code that works in a non-ssl (http) environment. This code uses a custom json error handler, and all errors thrown, do get bubbled up to the client javascript (ajax). // Create webservice endpoint WebHttpBinding binding = new WebHttpBinding(); ServiceEndpoint serviceEndPoint = new ServiceEndpoint(ContractDescription.GetContract(Type.GetType(svcHost.serviceContract + ", " + svcHost.assemblyName)), binding, new EndpointAddress(svcHost.hostUrl)); // Add exception handler serviceEndPoint.Behaviors.Add(new FaultingWebHttpBehavior()); // Create host and add webservice endpoint WebServiceHost webServiceHost = new WebServiceHost(svcHost.obj, new Uri(svcHost.hostUrl)); webServiceHost.Description.Endpoints.Add(serviceEndPoint); webServiceHost.Open(); I'll also show you what the FaultingWebHttpBehavior class looks like: public class FaultingWebHttpBehavior : WebHttpBehavior { public FaultingWebHttpBehavior() { } protected override void AddServerErrorHandlers(ServiceEndpoint endpoint, EndpointDispatcher endpointDispatcher) { endpointDispatcher.ChannelDispatcher.ErrorHandlers.Clear(); endpointDispatcher.ChannelDispatcher.ErrorHandlers.Add(new ErrorHandler()); } public class ErrorHandler : IErrorHandler { public bool HandleError(Exception error) { return true; } public void ProvideFault(Exception error, MessageVersion version, ref Message fault) { // Build an object to return a json serialized exception GeneralFault generalFault = new GeneralFault(); generalFault.BaseType = "Exception"; generalFault.Type = error.GetType().ToString(); generalFault.Message = error.Message; // Create the fault object to return to the client fault = Message.CreateMessage(version, "", generalFault, new DataContractJsonSerializer(typeof(GeneralFault))); WebBodyFormatMessageProperty wbf = new WebBodyFormatMessageProperty(WebContentFormat.Json); fault.Properties.Add(WebBodyFormatMessageProperty.Name, wbf); } } } [DataContract] public class GeneralFault { [DataMember] public string BaseType; [DataMember] public string Type; [DataMember] public string Message; } The AddServerErrorHandlers() method gets called automatically, once webServiceHost.Open() gets called. This sets up the custom json error handler, and life is good :-) The problem comes, when we switch to and SSL (https) environment. I'll now show you endpoint creation code for SSL: // Create webservice endpoint WebHttpBinding binding = new WebHttpBinding(); ServiceEndpoint serviceEndPoint = new ServiceEndpoint(ContractDescription.GetContract(Type.GetType(svcHost.serviceContract + ", " + svcHost.assemblyName)), binding, new EndpointAddress(svcHost.hostUrl)); // This exception handler code below (FaultingWebHttpBehavior) doesn't work with SSL communication for some reason, need to resarch... // Add exception handler serviceEndPoint.Behaviors.Add(new FaultingWebHttpBehavior()); //Add Https Endpoint WebServiceHost webServiceHost = new WebServiceHost(svcHost.obj, new Uri(svcHost.hostUrl)); binding.Security.Mode = WebHttpSecurityMode.Transport; binding.Security.Transport.ClientCredentialType = HttpClientCredentialType.None; webServiceHost.AddServiceEndpoint(svcHost.serviceContract, binding, string.Empty); Now, with this SSL endpoint code, the service starts up correctly, and wcf hosted objects can be communicated with just fine via client javascript. However, the custom error handler doesn't work. The reason is, the AddServerErrorHandlers() method never gets called when webServiceHost.Open() is run. So, can anyone tell me what is wrong with this picture? And why, is AddServerErrorHandlers() not getting called automatically, like it does when I'm using non-ssl endpoints? Thanks!

  • Svcutil generating bad config with multiple endpoints

    - by vfilby
I have a WCF service that has exposed a soap and an xml endpoint. When I use svcutil to generate the proxy code on the client side the generated configuration contains two endpoints which causes the client to fail. If I edit the web.config file and remove the second endpoint (with the custom binding) all works as expected. Is there a way I can get svcutil to generate a config that just works so that I don't need to hand edit the file everytime? Client-side error: An endpoint configuration section for contract 'MyNamespace.ITestService' could not be loaded because more than one endpoint configuration for that contract was found. Please indicate the preferred endpoint configuration section by name. • WPF TreeView: How to style selected items with rounded corners like in Explorer

    - by Helge Klein
The selected item in a WPF TreeView has a dark blue background with "sharp" corners. That looks a bit dated today: I would like to change the background to look like in Explorer of Windows 7 (with/without focus): What I tried so far does not remove the original dark blue background but paints a rounded border on top of it so that you see the dark blue color at the edges and at the left side - ugly. Interestingly, when my version does not have the focus, it looks pretty OK: I would like to refrain from redefining the control template as shown here or here. I want to set the minimum required properties to make the selected item look like in Explorer. Alternative: I would also be happy to have the focused selected item look like mine does now when it does not have the focus. When losing the focus, the color should change from blue to grey. Here is my code: <TreeView x:Name="TreeView" ItemsSource="{Binding TopLevelNodes}" VirtualizingStackPanel.IsVirtualizing="True" VirtualizingStackPanel.VirtualizationMode="Recycling"> <TreeView.ItemContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="{x:Type TreeViewItem}"> <Setter Property="IsExpanded" Value="{Binding IsExpanded, Mode=TwoWay}" /> <Setter Property="IsSelected" Value="{Binding IsSelected, Mode=TwoWay}" /> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsSelected" Value="True"> <Setter Property="BorderBrush" Value="#FF7DA2CE" /> <Setter Property="Background" Value="#FFCCE2FC" /> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </TreeView.ItemContainerStyle> <TreeView.Resources> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type viewmodels:ObjectBaseViewModel}" ItemsSource="{Binding Children}"> <Border Name="ItemBorder" CornerRadius="2" Background="{Binding Background, RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType=TreeViewItem}}" BorderBrush="{Binding BorderBrush, RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType=TreeViewItem}}" BorderThickness="1"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" Margin="2"> <Image Name="icon" Source="/ExplorerTreeView/Images/folder.png"/> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Name}"/> </StackPanel> </Border> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> </TreeView.Resources> </TreeView>

  • How does NameScope in WPF works ?

    - by Nicolas Dorier
I'm having a strange behavior with NameScopes in WPF, I have created a CustomControl called FadingPopup which is a child class of Window with nothing special inside. <Window.Resources> <local:FadingPopup> <Button Name="prec" Content="ahah"></Button> <Button Content="{Binding ElementName=prec, Path=Content}"></Button> </local:FadingPopup> </Window.Resources> In this snippet, the binding doesn't work (always empty). If I move these buttons from the resources to the content of the window like this : <Window ...> <Button Name="prec" Content="ahah"></Button> <Button Content="{Binding ElementName=prec, Path=Content}"></Button> </Window> The binding works as expected. Now, I have tried a mix between these two snippets : <Window...> <Window.Resources> <local:FadingPopup> <Button Name="prec" Content="Haha"></Button> </local:FadingPopup> </Window.Resources> <Button Content="{Binding ElementName=prec, Path=Content}"></Button> </Window> It works as well. Apparently, if the button prec is in the resources it registers itself in the NameScope of the Window. BUT, it seems that the Binding tries to resolve ElementName with the NameScope of the FadingPopup (which is null), thus the binding doesn't work... My first snipped works well if I specify a NameScope in my class FadingPopup : static FadingPopup() { NameScope.NameScopeProperty.OverrideMetadata(typeof(FadingPopup), new PropertyMetadata(new NameScope())); } But I don't like this solution because I don't understand why, in the first snippet, prec is registered in the NameScope of Window, but ElementName is resolved with the NameScope of FadingGroup (which is null by default)... Does someone can explain to me what is going on ? Why my first snippet doesn't work, if I don't specify a default NameScope for FadingGroup ?

  • data validation on wpf passwordbox:type password, re-type password

    - by black sensei
    Hello Experts !! I've built a wpf windows application in with there is a registration form. Using IDataErrorInfo i could successfully bind the field to a class property and with the help of styles display meaningful information about the error to users.About the submit button i use the MultiDataTrigger with conditions (Based on a post here on stackoverflow).All went well. Now i need to do the same for the passwordbox and apparently it's not as straight forward.I found on wpftutorial an article and gave it a try but for some reason it wasn't working. i've tried another one from functionalfun. And in this Functionalfun case the properties(databind,databound) are not recognized as dependencyproperty even after i've changed their name as suggested somewhere in the comments plus i don't have an idea whether it will work for a windows application, since it's designed for web. to give you an idea here is some code on textboxes <Window.Resources> <data:General x:Key="recharge" /> <Style x:Key="validButton" TargetType="{x:Type Button}" BasedOn="{StaticResource {x:Type Button}}" > <Setter Property="IsEnabled" Value="False"/> <Style.Triggers> <MultiDataTrigger> <MultiDataTrigger.Conditions> <Condition Binding="{Binding ElementName=txtRecharge, Path=(Validation.HasError)}" Value="false" /> </MultiDataTrigger.Conditions> <Setter Property="IsEnabled" Value="True" /> </MultiDataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> <Style x:Key="txtboxerrors" TargetType="{x:Type TextBox}" BasedOn="{StaticResource {x:Type TextBox}}"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="Validation.HasError" Value="true"> <Setter Property="ToolTip" Value="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}, Path=(Validation.Errors)[0].ErrorContent}"/> <Setter Property="Validation.ErrorTemplate"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate> <DockPanel LastChildFill="True"> <TextBlock DockPanel.Dock="Bottom" FontSize="8" FontWeight="ExtraBold" Foreground="red" Padding="5 0 0 0" Text="{Binding ElementName=showerror, Path=AdornedElement.(Validation.Errors)[0].ErrorContent}"></TextBlock> <Border BorderBrush="Red" BorderThickness="2"> <AdornedElementPlaceholder Name="showerror" /> </Border> </DockPanel> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </Window.Resources> <TextBox Margin="12,69,12,70" Name="txtRecharge" Style="{StaticResource txtboxerrors}"> <TextBox.Text> <Binding Path="Field" Source="{StaticResource recharge}" ValidatesOnDataErrors="True" UpdateSourceTrigger="PropertyChanged"> <Binding.ValidationRules> <ExceptionValidationRule /> </Binding.ValidationRules> </Binding> </TextBox.Text> </TextBox> <Button Height="23" Margin="98,0,0,12" Name="btnRecharge" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Click="btnRecharge_Click" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Width="75" Style="{StaticResource validButton}">Recharge</Button> some C# : class General : IDataErrorInfo { private string _field; public string this[string columnName] { get { string result = null; if(columnName == "Field") { if(Util.NullOrEmtpyCheck(this._field)) { result = "Field cannot be Empty"; } } return result; } } public string Error { get { return null; } } public string Field { get { return _field; } set { _field = value; } } } So what are suggestion you guys have for me? I mean how would you go about this? how do you do this since the databinding first purpose here is not to load data onto the fields they are just (for now) for data validation. thanks for reading this.
