  • Can reducing index length in Javascript associative array save memory

    I am trying to build a large Associative Array in JavaScript (22,000 elements). Do I need to worry about the length of the indices with regards to memory usage? In other words, which of the following options saves memory? or are they the same in memory consumption? Option 1: var student = new Array(); for (i=0; i<22000; i++) student[i] = { "studentName": token[0], "studentMarks": token[1], "studentDOB": token[2] }; Option 2: var student = new Array(); for (i=0; i<22000; i++) student[i] = { "n": token[0], "m": token[1], "d": token[2] }; I tried to test this on Google Chrome DevTools, but the numbers are inconsistent to make a decision. My best guess is that because the Array indices repeat, the browser can optimize memory usage by not repeating them for each student[i], but that is just a guess. Thanks.

  • htaccess hacked - i've deleted code and file - what next?

    My website was hacked recently. I think i've found the code that was added to the htaccess file, deleted it and then added script to prevent the htaccess file being accessed again. I've also deleted the php file that the hacked code refers to (common.php). What do i need to do next? I'm not a programmer or website developer but i really wanted to see if i could fix the problem myself as i've spent quite a few hours trying and don't give up easily.   • Positioning Layers and text gradients with css

    I'm a CSS newbie trying to get some text gradients going on. I tried this code here but it didn't work for me, most likely because the h1 object is nested within a #header div. I imagine there's something to do with layers that I don't know about. Either I get a gradent block that is in front of everything or it's not appearing at all.   • Get mutually and non mutually existening Fields in same table in Two columns

    This is a question similar to another question I posted here but is a little different. I am trying to get a list of all instances of mutual and non-mutual existing Users. What I mean is that the returned result from the query will return a list of users along with their co-worker. It is similar to the question here, but the difference is that non mutual users will be returned too and with out the "duplicity" mutually existing users return in the list (See image below in-order simplify it all).   • Mod_Rewrite w Apache mod_jrun22.so & ColdFusion 9 on cPanel

    How can I utilize mod_rewrite at either the httpd.conf level or per-directory level when mod_jrun22 seems to have short-stopped the rewrite process for ColdFusion pages? I have a ColdFusion 9 based site running on Centos 5.8 w cPanel. cPanel uses EasyApache 3 to manage virtual host containers and as such the conf for mod_jrun22.so, /usr/local/apache/conf/includes/pre_main_global.conf, is loaded prior to the main httpd.conf with the domain specific rules for the container. My assertion is that .cfm pages are failing to be rewritten due to the mod_jk22.so module having priority in the directive chain. To note, I also have a WordPress blog in the site where the rewrites appear to be working fine. For example the following code to remove the index file works fine for php and fails with cfm ... .htaccess under /blog/ : This works Options -Indexes -Multiviews <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /blog/ RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L] </IfModule> .htaccess under / : This does not work as expected.   • WPF WebBrowser NavigateToString vs NavigateToStream (hebrew/non-utf8 encodings)

    When I use WPF WebBrowser's NavigateToString method to display UTF8 html (with hebrew text in it) it's displayed perfectly. However, when I try to use the NavigateToString to display html with hebrew text in it in a non-utf8 encoding (CodePage 1255 to be exact) the hebrew is messed up. I checked the cp1255 string in Visual Studio's debugger and it looks great, and also when I save the source of the web browser's contents and open it with an external browser it looks great. If I use the NavigateToStream method instead of the NavigateToString method it works great. What's the problem with the NavigateToString? am I doing something wrong?

    Hi, I am currently struggling to call a non python program from a python script. I have a ~1000 files that when passed through this C++ program will generate ~1000 outputs. Each output file must have a distinct name. The command I wish to run is of the form: program_name -input -output -o1 -o2 -o3 To date I have tried: import os cwd = os.getcwd() files = os.listdir(cwd) required_files = [] for i in file: if i.endswith('.ttp'): required_files.append(i) So, I have an array of the neccesary files. My problem - how do I iterate over the array and for each entry, pass it to the above command (program_name) as an argument and specify a unique output id for each file? Much appreciated, S :-)

    JRE and JDK 64bit install executable are throwing a non compatible win32 error: jre_7u1_windows-x64bit.exe is not a valid Win32 application. I thought this could be a system environment variable problem, but from what I can tell it is not, the variable PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE is set as: AMD64 and the variable PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER is set as: Intel64 Family 6 Model 37 Stepping 5, GenuineIntel I am not sure what variables the installer reads from if any. I have tried java 6 installer and the same thing. I can install other programs designed for a 64bit architecture and I have looked at Control PanelSystem and SecuritySystem: which is in fact "System type: 64-bit Operating System".

  • DIV Overlaying DIV, links in backmost DIV non-accessible

    I have a photoshop image that is 500x600 that I am using as a background image for the first div. The second div sits over top of the first div and is populated with images. The z-index of the first div is set to 100. The effect is the photoshop image sits over top of all of the smaller images. The photoshop image is a letter with the inner-content of it set to be transparent and the small images create the filling. Each of the small images however is a link, but none of the links are accessible. How can I remedy that? I would post the code here, but I have absolutely no clue how to format it. I quite simply do not understand typing a backtick followed by the tab key and then a dollar sign. All that ends up is I type a backtick here followed by a dollar sign in the Tags section below.

    I generate a rather complex NSAttributedString in my iOS 3.2 application (iPad), including formatting options of type CTParagraphStyleSetting, in particular with values for kCTParagraphStyleSpecifierMinimumLineHeight and kCTParagraphStyleSpecifierParagraphSpacing. When I try to draw this attributed string into a non-rectangular CGPath, Core Text draws it but without the line spacing defined; that is, all text appears crammed in paragraphs without line spacing. Needless to say, it does not look as pretty as if the CGPath was simply defined using a single call to CGPathAddRect()! Is there any setting I can specify (to my CTFramesetterRef or to the CTFrameRef associated to the culprit CGPath) to avoid losing all line height information? Thanks!
