  • Why attached property Set and Get static methods are not called in XAML?

    Hi, I have set break points on my attached properties SetXXX and GetXXX static methods. In Xaml, I have assigned values to the attached property. However, I was expecting the Set or Get static methods to be called but they are not. The attached property works as expected and if I call SetXXX and GetXXX methods in code, then it works are expected. Why are the methods not called when set from Xaml? JD.

  • WPF DataGrid Hide RowDetails or Unselect Row

    I have a DataGrid who's RowDetails is set to show when selected (RowDetailsVisibilityMode="VisibleWhenSelected"). Now I want to be able to get rid of it! I put a close button on the row details with this code: private void Button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { e.Handled = true; Button button = sender as Button; DataGridRow row = button.FindAncestor(); row.DetailsVisibility = Visibility.Collapsed; } That code gets me 90% there, but once the row details is collapsed for a given row it will not appear the next time that row is selected.

  • WPF WriteableBitmap Memory Leak?

    Hello, everyone! I'm trying to figure out how to release a WriteableBitmap memory. In the next section of code I fill the backbuffer of a WriteableBitmap with a really large amount of data from "BigImage" (3600 * 4800 px, just for testing) If I comment the lines where bitmap and image are equaled to null, the memory it´s not release and the application consumes ~230 MB, even when Image and bitmap are no longer used! As you can see at the end of the code its necessary to call GC.Collect() to release the memory. So the question is, what is the right way to free the memory used by a WriteableBitmap object? Is GC.Collect() the only way? Any help would be great. PS.   • Webcam streaming - WPF/C#

    I noticed few similar questions already, but didn't find exatly what I want. I'm trying to do the following. Have a client and server Webcam application. Server application is on a PC with a webcam connected to it and it streams the webcam output. Client application connects to a Server and shows the webcam video. What's the best and easiest way to to this? Are there any libraries or finished projects doing this? Thanks!

Please tell me at which event does the values HorizontalOffset and the VerticalOffset get changed? I have tried LayoutUpdated() method but it goes in a infinite loop. Thanks in advance

  • WPF Treeview contextmenu IsChecked binding MVVM

    I've got a TreeView to which I associate a ContextMenu. That contextmenu has an item whose IsChecked property I want to bind to my ViewModel. Since I am using a tree each treeitem is bound to a subproperty of my ViewModel. In the VS2010 output window I am seeing this databinding error: BindingExpression path error: 'IsAutoStart' property not found on 'object' ''HostMgmtViewModel' (HashCode=12565727)'. BindingExpression:Path=IsAutoStart; DataItem='HostMgmtViewModel' This clearly shows it is trying to bind to my ViewModel and not to the treeitem's associated data. How do I bind to the correct object? Remember my contextmenu is associated with the whole TreeView not to the specific treeitem.

I need connecting lines in the treeview to make it look exact to org chart.   • Smooth text animation (Marquee) using WPF

    Trying to build a marquee control with smooth text animation. Current efforts include: Using translate transform Using animation on Canvas dependency properties (Left, Right) Using animation on custom dependency property (Point) and using drawing visuals (formattedtext) Using CompositionTarget.Rendering But the animation is still choppy and resource intensive. Checklist: Confirmed no software rendering is taking place (ms performance tool and checking RenderCapability.Tier) Calling freeze on any imaginable object Running app on dual core machine with decent graphic card (NVidia 9600) Disabled any bitmap effect and transparency Checked all marquee controls out there (same issues) Any ideas (or better yet code example)?

    Hi, I'm trying to write a master - detail control that consists of a master datagrid and the detail datagrid. My scenario was following - I used the SelectedItem and bound it to a property in ModelView. The problem is - the SelectedItem in ViewModel is never used, so I can't get the information which item is selected in a master datagrid and cannot fetch the data for thos selection. The code is below: <toolkit:DataGrid ItemsSource="{Binding}" RowDetailsVisibilityMode="VisibleWhenSelected" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedItemHandler, Mode=TwoWay}"></toolkit:DataGrid> And in ViewModel private CustomerObjects _selectedItem; public CustomerObjects SelectedItemHandler { get { return _selectedItem; } set { OnPropertyChanged("SelectedItem"); } } The code in SelectedItemHandler is never used. What could be the problem? Should I use another approach to create master - detail in MVVM?

    I'm trying to create a progress bar that will work asynchronously to the main process. I'm created a new event and invoked it however everytime I then try to perform operations on the progress bar I recieve the following error: "The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it" The following code is an attempt to send an instance of the progress bar to the event as an object, it obviously failed but it gives you an idea of what the code looks like. private event EventHandler importing; void MdbDataImport_importing(object sender, EventArgs e) { ProgressBar pb = (ProgressBar)sender; while (true) { if (pb.Value >= 200) pb.Value = 0; pb.Value += 10; } } private void btnImport_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { importing += new EventHandler(MdbDataImport_importing); IAsyncResult aResult = null; aResult = importing.BeginInvoke(pbDataImport, null, null, null); importing.EndInvoke(aResult); } Does anyone have ideas of how to do this. Question How can I hide certain nodes in a tree while retaining the expand state of the other nodes? Can someone explain, what happens internally on ICollectionView.Filter += MyFilter.   • Paragraph formatting in a WPF RichTextBox?

    I need to apply paragraph formatting to a selection in a rich text box. My RTB will behave the same way as the rich text boxes on StackOverflow--the user can type text into the RTB, but they can also enter code blocks. The RTB will apply very simple formatting to the code block--it will change the font and apply a background color to the entire block, similar to what you see in the code block below. Changing the font is pretty straightforward: var textRange = new TextRange(rtb.Selection.Start, rtb.Selection.End); textRange.ApplyPropertyValue(TextElement.FontFamilyProperty, "Consolas"); textRange.ApplyPropertyValue(TextElement.FontSizeProperty, 10D ); Now I need to apply some paragraph-level formatting. I need to set the paragraph margin to 0, so I don't get a blank line between code lines, and I need to set the paragraph background color. Here's my problem: I can't figure out how to get the paragraph elements from the selection, so that I can apply formatting. Any suggestions? An example of how to apply the Margin and Background properties would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!
