• Register click via javascript on flash without wmode in iframe(cross-domain)

  I'm currently coding counter system and have spotted one problem with flash banners without wmode attribute at all, loaded via iframe from another website. Works only mouseout event. The problem is, that i can't catch click event on those banners. Is there any solution? Thanks.

• Alert team members of SVN commit?

  I'm hosting my own svn repository on ubuntu 8.04. Is there a way for svn to send emails to team members whenever a commit has happened? If coding is required, the only language I'm able to use on a linux server is PHP. So I could write a php script to be triggered by svn. Can anyone tell me how to hook up my php script to an svn commit? Or is there another way to do this?

• How to define a constant when running script/server?

  I want to start up my Rails development server like this: script/server OFFLINE_MODE=1 and have a method that checks for the presence of that constant: helper_method :offline_mode? def offline_mode? defined?(OFFLINE_MODE) ? true : false end so I can hide stuff in my app when I'm coding without access to the internet. For some reason though, OFFLINE_MODE doesn't ever seem to be defined and the method always returns false.. thoughts?

• Using low level api for datastore in google app engine ? is it bad ?

  There is little documentation on how to use the low level api for datastore and quite a lot on JPA and JDO and how it translates to it. My question is: is there any advantage in coding against the JPA or JDO specs instead of accessing directly the low level api for datastore ? • C# empty statement

  In C#, I can write something like: using (new MyDisposableClass().MethodA()); The semicolon causes a compiler warning to be shown which states possible mistaken empty statement. I haven't run the above code but won't the method still be called? What uses is there of this type of coding convention? • Font Size Based on Char or Number Data

  I am trying to find a way to display numerical digits as a larger font size than chars on a website (not my idea!). The reason for this is to make the numbers stand out.
