  I have have a 2 div element. One is child and one is parent like : <div id="p"> <div id="c"> </div> </div> The parent div has 2 event attached click and dblclick and child div has 1 event attached click. Now my problem is when i clicked on the child div the parent div click event also executed. I tried e.stopPropagation(); but still same behavior. Help me ?

• Creating a button on a View from a second View

  Hi, I have this app I'm working on, which on a second view asks (textfield) the name for a button to be created on first view. After specifying the name and pressing OK button, the first view pops up (as demanded) but there's no new button, although created indeed. Can I use the following code in a second view method, to "refresh" the first view before presenting itself. What's wrong with this code? Any other approach? • Clear All Event subscriptions (Clone linked)

  I just implemented Clone from ICloneable and realized that the event subscriptions from my source instance also followed. Is there a good way to clear all those? Currently I am using a couple of these loops for every event I have to clear everything. foreach (var eventhandler in OnIdChanged.GetInvocationList()) { OnIdChanged -= (ItemEventHandler) eventhandler; } foreach (var eventhandler in OnNameChanged.GetInvocationList()) { ... This works fine but clutters the code a bit. Mostly worried to get event dangling.

• dropdown list event is not firing when javascript is used

  i have a problem in firing dropdownlist event i have following dropdown asp:dropdownlist id="ddlhello" Runat="server" AutoPostBack="True" onchange="javascript:return ChangeHeader();" i have also added event in code behind i.e. selectedindex change event. Now problem occurs when i execute the page, it executes javascript but server side code doesnot fire, but if i remove this line onchange="javascript:return ChangeHeader();" then server side code fires. when i checked source page it shows me two onchange events associated one for javascript and other for server side. i think that it is picking client side code and neglects server side. I am not pretty sure, so i want to know the behavior reason. And what is the way out for this. i want server and client side code to be executed. i have searched for solutions but i have not found any correct reason. please reply for the same.   I have a Silverlight control on page which has a upload control. the silverlight exposes some events such as StartUpload() = To start the file upload, StopUpload() = To stop the file upload if running, CheckFileStatus() = to check the status of the file upload. The page has aspx Submit button with onclientclick event and ocClick event. <asp:Button ID="btn_upload" Text="External Upload" runat="server" OnClientClick="Javascript:StartUpload();" OnClick="btn_upload_Click" /> When I click on the aspx Submit Button, the file selected in Silverlight control should be uploaded and after the completion of upload, the Server side event should get called. • IE7 and IE8 change event not being thrown for text input

  I have a form that I auto focus at startup of the page with jquery. I also have change event handlers in place for whenever an input changes. If I change the value of the first field that was autofocused, and then move to the next field, the change event handler doesn't fire. If I remove the autofocusing, and just focus manually, then change it then move to the next field, the change event does fire. This only happens on IE. It works fine on firefox and chrome. Anyone experience this before?

  I have the following simplified html: <div class="foo" style="width:200px; height:200px;"> <input type="checkbox" /> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> $('.foo').click(function(){$(this).find('input:checkbox')[0].click();}); </script> Clicking the 200x200 div 'foo' works well, and raises the click event for the checkbox inside it. However when I exactly click the checkbox itself, it fires its 'normal' event, plus the jquery bound event above, meaning the checkbox checks itself, then unchecks itself again. Is there a tidy way to prevent this from happening?

• Problems with the Enterframe Event

  Hey guys, I have been developing a game using Flex, and used the Timer class to keep the main loop going. However, when I tried using the enterFrame event to do the main loop, there were a few problems. First of all, physics simulation seemed way too fast. Is the enterFrame event called more than once per frame? I set the application's global frame rate to 24, so shouldn't the application set off the event every 1/24 of a second? And the second problem is that when the game runs like this, some MXML components that are added are not shown. I have absolutely no idea why this happens. Help me please?!? Thanks.

• How to avoid oscillation by async event based systems?

  Imagine a system where there are data sources which need to be kept in sync. A simple example is model - view data binding by MVC. Now I intend to describe these kind of systems with data sources and hubs. Data sources are publishing and subscribing for events and hubs are relaying events to data sources. By handling an event a data source will change it state described in the event. By publishing an event the data source puts its current state to the event, so other data sources can use that information to change their state accordingly. The only problem with this system, that events can be reflected from the hub or from the other data sources, and that can put the system into an infinite oscillation (by async or infinite loop by sync). For example A -- data source B -- data source H -- hub A -> H -> A -- reflection from the hub A -> H -> B -> H -> A -- reflection from another data source By sync it is relatively easy to solve this issue. You can compare the current state with the event, and if they are equal, you don't change the state and raise the same event again. By async I could not find a solution yet. The state comparison does not work by async event handling because there is eventual consistency, and new events can be published in an inconsistent state causing the same oscillation. For example: A(*->x) -> H -> B(y->x) -- can go parallel with B(*->y) -> H -> A(x->y) -- so first A changes to x state while B changes to y state -- then B changes to x state while A changes to y state -- and so on for eternity... What do you think is there an algorithm to solve this problem? If there is a solution, is it possible to extend it to prevent oscillation caused by multiple hubs, multiple different events, etc... ? update: I don't think I can make this work without a lot of effort. I think this problem is just the same as we have by syncing multiple databases in a distributed system. So I think what I really need is constraints if I want to prevent this problem in an automatic way. What constraints do you suggest?

This error was suppressed." 15 of these warnings appear every two hours on every Windows 7 PC, most of which are to do with core office applications and two are for plug-ins to out document management system. These warnings aren't afecting the users, but it would be nice to track down the source of them before we rollout Win7 to the rest of the Organisation. Any ideas as to where the login issue could be comming from (All users are connecting to the domain and proxy, etc fine)?

• Performance Alert Writing to event Log but not running program

  I followed the instructions here How to create and configure performance alerts in Windows Server 2003 to set up an alert if the available logical disk space on one of my drives goes below a certain number. I selected the option to write to the application event log and select the "run this program" option and put in the path to a script that sends me an email. If I copy the path to the script and run it everything works and I get the email. When I start the alert I can see that the limit I set is being exceeded and the logs are being written to the application log, but the email is never being sent. I have the runas user and pword set to a Domain Admin. If I make the "run this program path" to C:\Windows\System32\calc.exe" it also doesn't start up the calculator. The Performance Logs and alerts services is running as Local Admin with allow to interact with desktop. What am I doing wrong?

  I get the following error logged into the Event Log every 5 minutes: The SSP Timer Job Distribution List Import Job was not run. Reason: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer In addition, OWSTimer.exe periodically gets into a state where its consuming almost all the CPU and only killing the process or restarting the Sharepoint services fixes it (although I'm not sure if this is a related or seperate issue). I have tried the following (based on various suggestions floating around the web), all to no avail: iisreset (no affect) Added the Sharepoint and Sharepoint Search service accounts to Log on as a batch job and Log on as a service policies in the Group Policies for the domain. I went into the Local Computer Policy on the Sharepoint server and verified that those policies had actually been applied Verified that the Sharepoint and Sharepoint Search service accounts are both in the WSS_WPG group Verified in dcomcnfg that the WSS_WPG group (and indeed the Sharepoint and Sharepoint search service accounts) has local activation rights for SPSearch. Any more suggestions would be valued. Thanks

• Fusion 2 - blank screen - no start button

  I have Fusion 2 on my MacBook. It was working fine until this morning. Logged on and it took too long to log my personal settings to load. I shut it down. Shut down the MacBook and restarted. Logged onto Fusion and now I only get the windows screen with no icons or Start Button. I don't want to uninstall in fear of loosing all of my work including Quickbooks! Anyone have a solution?

• Computer randomly shuts down with a fading alarm power button and CD drive

  I am currently experiencing something very very odd. Having build my PC myself, I have never had any issues (or anything heat related). A few moments ago my computer shut down very randomly and everything goes blank, when I looked down on my case's power button it was fading on and off in such way I've had never seen before. I noticed the CD drive all of a sudden also started blinking randomly. What do you guys think this problem is related to? It is definitely not a overheating issue and I am pretty sure my 600 watt power supply didn't blow because right now I am able to turn it on and boot up the PC but 20 seconds later it shuts down (sometimes doesn't shut down for 2 minutes). I have no idea what this is... My specs are (built by myself): i5 3570k (unoverclocked) GTX 560ti Asrock Z77 Pro4-M motherboard 8GB Vengeance RAM 600W Corsair power supply 500GB of Seagate HD Case: Corsair Carbide 300R

• Links opened by left-click in IE8 take forever compared to middle-mouse button

  When I use the middle mouse button to open a link in a new tab, it works instantly. However, if I left-click the link to open it normally, IE8 freezes for about 5 seconds before the popup window opens. I'm sick of all the slowness and the glitchiness and the memory hogging, and I just want it to work as well as all the other browsers out there. Anybody else experiencing this and have any tips? Note: It's not the Java SSV helper or the Skype addon (because I have those disabled). I'm looking for some advanced solutions that I can try. (God, I hate IE8, but I'm a loyal Microsoft follower so I refuse to switch to Firefox. )

  I set my company exchange mailbox in Windows 8.1 mail. (outsite). Everything works fine, but after i start the Windows 8.1 mail i get event with id 529 in the security log continously. • Microsoft Keyboard(8000) play button opens Windows Media Player rather than Zune on Windows 7

  Im currently using the Microsoft 8000 keyboard on Windows 7 and before installing Microsoft's Keyboard application, it was opening Zune and playing music with the play button. After installation, it is now opening Windows Media Player rather than Zune. If I have Zune open and press play, it will open WMP and upon pressing it again, will kick off the play command in Zune. I've checked the default programs in the control panel and have set Zune as default for all available but that hasn't changed anything. Has anyone run into this before? I'm a bit stumped as googling does not produce any relevant results. Thanks!

  I've installed libevent on my server in the directory root/data/ and have i'm about to install memcached with ./configure –with-lib-event=/data/; make; make install However, after running a bit I get this error saying i'm pointing to the wrong directory for libevent. checking for libevent directory... configure: error: libevent is required. You can get it from http://www.monkey.org/~provos/libevent/ If it's already installed, specify its path using --with-libevent=/dir/ make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. • Ubuntu Connect Button Disabled, cannot connect

  I'm trying to connect to my school network from Ubuntu 12. The network is WPA encrypted and I can connect just fine if the network manager establishes a connection automatically. However, when I get disconnected and try to reconnect a username and password prompt pops up. The credentials are already stored and are autofilled in correctly, but the Connect button is disabled so I can't actually connect to the network. What can I do? The only guess I've found so far is the password is too short and Ubuntu is expecting a full WPA key. I don't administer the school network though so I certainly can't change that.

• Adobe Encore CS4 DVD Menu Button Not Functioning

  Hello, I've built a DVD in Adobe Encore CS4, and everything works great in the preview. However, when I go and burn to DVD, we have one issue. On the DVD menu, there are two text buttons, with no background when unselected, and have a background when selected. That allows the user to know which is selected. Like I said, everything works great in the preview, but the background that is supposed to appear when the button is selected does not. The buttons work, but there is no background when selected.
