  • PHP unable to allocate memory.

    On my way to the office this morning, every website on our shared VPS started giving the same error (several times, not the typical memory_limit error which is fatal): Warning: Unknown: Unable to allocate memory for pool. in Unknown on line 0 The shared server is a 64-bit OpenVZ container running cPanel. There are only ~6 VPSes on the host-- this is the largest one at only 4GB. The host itself has 24GB RAM. As the below graphs show, the memory usage on the host and VPS are both rather low. CPU Usage/Disk/Host all seem to be normal. RlimitMem was set to 583653034, yet the memory usage is about the same as it usually is. Apache 2.2, PHP 5.2 (mod_php) Restarting Apache has corrected the problem for now. However, I'd like to prevent it from happening again and I'm not sure what was limiting the memory.   • Imitate Google suggest with Ajax and php

    I want to imitate Google suggest with the following code, which means: step 1: When user types in search box, the query string will be processed by a server php file and query suggestion string is returned(using Ajax object). step 2:When user clicks on a query suggestion, it will fill into the search box (autocomplete). Step 1 is achieved while step 2 is not. I think the problem lies in the .click() method. My intention is to use .click() binding a onclick event to the dynamically created <li> element.   • Android Hero denies XMLSocket or Socket connection? ....errors #2031, #2048

    Hi, I am trying to adapt an existing flash web chat application for the Android mobile phone and I am having this really annoying issue. The server is a custom based solution and can send back both binary messages or XML. So I can use either XMLSocket class or the Socket class to get data from the server. Everything works fine when deployed and I connect from the desktop but when I try it from the android mobile I get the infamous errors #2031, followed by #2048. Now the crossdomain.xml file is rock solid and works well for desktop. When the connect socket method runs I see that the server replies with the crossdomain file but I get the error when running on the mobile. Has anyone bumped into this? Is there some limitation from the mobile phone part. I wasn't able to find anything relevant for this issue, in terms of the phone not allowing Socket or XMLSocket connections. The phone(s) Motorola and HTC run Android 2.1 and indicates the flash FL10,1,123,358 version of flash lite. The issue can be reproduced also on the HTC Desire.   • How to use data receive event in Socket class?

    I have wrote a simple client that use TcpClient in dotnet to communicate. In order to wait for data messages from server i use a Read() thread that use blocking Read() call on socket. When i receive something i have to generate various events. These event occur in the worker thread and thus you cannot update a UI from it directly. Invoke() can be use but for end developer its difficult as my SDK would be use by users who may not use UI at all or use Presentation Framework. Presentation framework have different way of handling this. Invoke() on our test app as Microstation Addin take a lot of time at the moment. Microstation is single threaded application and call invoke on its thread is not good as it is always busy doing drawing and other stuff message take too long to process. I want my events to generate in same thread as UI so user donot have to go through the Dispatcher or Invoke. Now i want to know how can i be notified by socket when data arrive? Is there a build in callback for that. I like winsock style receive event without use of separate read thread. I also do not want to use window timer to for polling for data. I found IOControlCode.AsyncIO flag in IOControl() function which help says Enable notification for when data is waiting to be received. This value is equal to the Winsock 2 FIOASYNC constant. I could not found any example on how to use it to get notification. If i am write in MFC/Winsock we have to create a window of size(0,0) which was just used for listening for the data receive event or other socket events. But i don't know how to do that in dotnet application.

  • JBOSS 7.1 started hanging after 6 months of deployment

    My application is been live from 6 months. The application is host on jboss 7.1 server. From last few days I am finding numerous problem of hanging of jboss server. Though I restart the jboss server again, it does not invoke. I need to restart the server machine itself. Can anyone please let me know what could be the cause of these problems and the workable resolutions or any suggestion ?     In Linux I have no problem dumping tons of data into a domain socket, but the same code on OS X 10.6.2 blows up after about 65 records.     i'm trying to set up a server structure for an application i'm building in Node.js with socket.io. The weird thing is that if i access directly to the socket.io file, after refreshing a few times, it loads, so i suppose is "caching" the forwarding for the client when it makes the first request and reach the apache server. Any suggestion of how this can be solved? or what i can try or look about this?

  • Start & shutdown as tomcat as non-root user

    How to start, shutdown and restart tomcat as non-root user. I have tomcat5.x installed on ubuntu machine(usr/share/tomcat). The tomcat directory has full permissions.   • netbeans 6.8 php, xdebug, mamp - cannot establish a connection

    I'm having no luck whatsoever with debuggers either on Zend Studio or NetBeans. I cannot believe the difficulty I'm having with these IDE's. I've read all the prior questions on netbeans-xdebug problems. According to those answers, my configuration is correct. Nonetheless, when I try to run xdebug, NetBeans hangs. I cancel the connection and get the popup dialog: "There is no connection, blah blah blah..." Here's my php.ini [xdebug] ; Xdebug config for Mac OS X and NetBeans IDE zend_extension=/Applications/MAMP/bin/php5/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/xdebug.so xdebug.remote_enable=on xdebug.remote_handler=dbgp xdebug.remote_mode=req xdebug.remote_host=127.0.0.1 xdebug.remote_port=9000 xdebug.idekey=netbeans-xdebug In NetBeans preferences, my session ID = netbeans-xdebug. I tried xdebug.idekey="netbeans-xdebug" That made no difference. I restarted the web server every time. Anyone have any other suggestions I might try? Thanks.

  • Enable PDO for PHP5 on CentOS5 where PHP is configured as '--disable-pdo'

    Hi I have been given access to a CentOS5 machine by my client for their new site which uses Zend Framework. phpinfo() states in Configure Command that PDO is disabled ('--disable-pdo'). How can enable it? Do I need to recompile PHP5 to enable it? I have tried adding 'extension=pdo.so' in php.ini and restarting Apache, but this didn't work. It would also be nice to understand what '--disable-pdo' actaully means, does it mean it's not compiled into PHP or does it mean its just not enabled? Thanks for your time

    Hi, PDF experts help needed, I am posting a form from PDF to a PHP script with Adobe Acrobat. I would like to set my PDF to display appropiate messages based upon some returned values. So I am looking for returned values... if there is any returned values after posting the form, how can I access them? Maybe, there is an option to set this in Adobe? Another thing: When the PDF form gets submitted and let's say I echo back a 'thank you' message from my form-handler PHP script, a new PDF gets created and opened displaying my message... is there a way to open that new message in the same window and close the form instead?     Hi there I've started to learn OO programming, but using the PHP language with the help of the "PHP 5 Objects, Patterns, and Practice" book. The thing is that I wish to learn to use into same time the CakePHP framework which make use a lot of the MVC pattern. Because I don't know much about OO and less about MVC I wish to understand the later one but assumptions I make with my OO knowledges might have bad impact on long term. Does anyone know a good tutorial about what means MVC (more than cakephp manual says about it, but more easy to read/understand than wikipedia)? TY

  • Add php extension (geoip.so) to Zend Studio for code validation

    Hi everyone, just have a short question here. I've just installed new php extension (geoip.so) using pecl to /usr/local/zend/lib/php_extensions/ and added the extension to the php.ini. Run the code and it works just fine. But Zend Studio is giving warning of undefined geoip function. Try to add the directory path above to the include path of Zend Studio, still the warning exists.     I've recompiled php 5.3.0 under OS X Server (10.6.3) in order to gain Freetype support in GD. As part of the process, I recompiled libjpeg-8a (and before that I tried libjpeg-7). But when I run apachectcl configtest, I get the following error: httpd: Syntax error on line 155 of /private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Cannot load /usr/libexec/apache2/mod_auth_user_host_apple.so into server: dlopen(/usr/libexec/apache2/mod_auth_user_host_apple.so, 10): Symbol not found: __cg_jpeg_resync_to_restart\n Referenced from: /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ImageIO.framework/Versions/A/Resources/libTIFF.dylib\n Expected in: /usr/lib/libJPEG.dylib\n in /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ImageIO.framework/Versions/A/Resources/libTIFF.dylib I don't really understand the error. Is there anyone who could help me figure out how to fix it? In php the gd library now seems unaware of libjpeg support.

  • Creating custom contact page -- page-contact.tpl.php (Drupal)

    I'm new to Drupal. I want to create a contact page, so I copied page.tpl.php and renamed it to page-contact.tpl.php. I created some new elements in the page, so I can see that if I click on the "contact" link, I'll know that I went to the correct page. Right now I don't see any change. Was there something I missed? Do I need to do something in the admin settings so Drupal knows which file I need to open? I also tried clearing my cache.
