• Ibus incompatible with Tor Browser in 13.10

  I have recently updated to 13.10 from 13.04 and noticed a compatibility issue between the new Ibus and the Tor Browser. Basically, the Tor Browser does not accept any keyboard inputs, while all other programs do. I tested this with the 64 bit versions 2.3.25-11 and 2.3.25-13 and the 32 bit version 2.3.25-13. According to this thread, quitting ibus "fixes" the problem: https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/ticket/9353 Any ideas on how to fix this?

• How do I fix gnome shell themes?

  This is my fifth full format and install of Ubuntu in under a month. I finally have my Gnome 3 desktop working again, but again, the Gnome shell themes is not select-able. I have asked the question of how to fix this common issue before, but I have seen no positive resolution. Does anybody know of a simple fix? This is a common issue and I have seen hundreds of postings related to it, but other users only seem to get half-way answers also and it goes unresolved. Would it be advisable to completely purge Gnome desktop and reinstall? If so how would I do this? I cannot use any extensions if the shell is not working, so I am desperately seeking resolution for the issue. Thanks in advance.

• Gnome-shell worskpace preview on dual screen

  I'have isntalled gnome3 and I have dual screens(laptop, monitor). Is it possible to see the other monitor in workspace preview in the gnome panel??? I only can see primary monitor, that's why i'm not able to move windows inside the second screen? I've tried to change some settings in dconf , but with no luck. • Login screen theme and background lost

  I tried to change my LightDM background and theme in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS beta 2, changing /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/com.canonical.unity-greeter.gschema.xml file (I don't even know if it would work, but I couldn't find any other way), and I failed and restored original file. Also, durning the same session I installed gnome-shell-extensions package, but it didn't work either. (I didn't remove it) Now my login screen looks a bit coarse, without theme and background. (It looks like MS Windows 95 a bit - square buttons and text fields) My question is, how to repair login screen (or how to customize it propely) and how to make gnome-shell-extensions work.

  This is the situation: I've been browsing the web for an hour in pursuit of some bit of technical information and have visited several dozen websites that I don't even remember anymore. I've finally found what I need so I start closing the web browser, only to discover that — aaargh! — there's a popup ad hiding underneath! My blood boils. What insidious website is responsible for this circumvention of my browser's popup blocker? I want to make it pay for its crime. I'll write angry emails. Leave bad reviews. Even block it from my Google search results — yes, that'll show it! But I've reached an impediment. The offending site has already been closed. Is it too late to deduce the advertisement's origin? Or can I somehow un-pop the popup? Here's a test page. With only the popup left on your screen, can you deduce that it was caused by visiting PasteHTML?

• X-notifier doesn't work in Chromium Browser

  It just keeps checking in vain. Also cannot import or export data, but get this error I use the latest versions of both in Lubuntu 12.04. In Google Chrome it works. What could it be the problem? • f12 and ctrl + f5 not working correctly [migrated]

  When I came back to my work computer after being away for a week I found out when I try to clear the cache and refresh the page via ctrl + f5 (or just f5) I get the prompt "Type the Internet address of a document, and Internet Explorer will open it for you" with a drop down list in IE. When I try f5 in Chrome and FF it opens the "Open file" dialog box. When I try to f12 for Dev tools in IE, Chrome & FF it opens up the print dialog box. Why is this happening and what can I do to revert it back to the way it was?

  The problem is that the scope of the content script is on the web page that your plugin is suppose to be used at.   Hi!:) In my extension, when a button named "mybutton1" in the popup.html is clicked, it sends a message "getvar1" to the contentscript.js, then the contentscript.js sends a message "i want var1" to the background.html to get an object named "var1".If the button named "mybutton2" is clicked, the contentscript.js gets the "var2" object. How should i do under this condition? What's more, i am a little confused about the chrome.extension.onRequest.addListener method and chrome.extension.sendRequest method.Could someone tell me the mechanism of the two methods? Thanks!

I currently use googels chrome when downloading a file it places this (regardless of extension) in a downloads folder without asking where I ant to download this too. I want to achieve the same except that downloads with the extension .dwg are placed automatically in a folder named DWG DOWNLAODS… Dose anybody know how to achieve this in vb.net?

• Web Fonts in Firefox behind Squid

  It appears as though Firefox requests web fonts (specifically Google's) in a different manner than other browsers. They fail to load when behind Squid as a result, and I'm trying to isolate why. Using this page as a reference in various browsers, Firefox noticeably displays it differently. In the Squid logs, you see hits like this: TCP_DENIED/407 3292 GET http://themes.googleusercontent.com/font? - NONE/- text/html If you load the same page with IE, you see hits like this: TCP_DENIED/407 4389 GET http://themes.googleusercontent.com/static/fonts/federant/v1/C109bUmZeyhh-vIXq9lNfvesZW2xOQ-xsNqO47m55DA.woff - NONE/- text/html So why the difference and how can we make it play nice with Firefox?
