• Bad archive mirror using PXE boot method

  I'm trying to automatically install Ubuntu on a client PC by using the PXE BOOT method....my Objectives are below: I am following the steps given in this link installation using PXE BOOT the server will have a KICKSTART config file which contains the parameters for the OS installation and the files which are required for the OS installations. the client will have to detect this configuration along with the setup files and complete the installation without any input from the user. In my server I have installed DHCP3-server,Apache2 and TFTP to help me with the installation. I have nearly achieved my first objective, I am able to boot my client using the files stored in the server but during the installation stage it is asking me to CHOOSE A MIRROR OF UBUNTU ARCHIVE I gave the server's IP address and the path in the server where the files are located but then its giving me this error BAD ARCHIVE MIRROR So is it possible that instead of downloading all the files from the internet and storing them on my disk can I use the files which comes with the UBUNTU-CD, and how to store these files in what format (should I zip them) on the disk? secondly I am also generating the ks.cfg which I wanted to give to the client for automatic installation of the OS. So how should the configuration file be given to the installation process?

• Method for spawning enemies according to player score and game time

  I'm making a top-down shooter and want to scale the difficulty of the game according to what the score is and how much time has Passed. Along with this, I want to spawn enemies in different patterns and increase the intervals at which these enemies are shown. I'm going for a similar effect to Geometry wars. However, I can think of a to do this other than have multiple if-else statments, e.g. : if (score > 1000) { //spawn x amount if enemies } else if (score > 10000) { //spawn x amount of enemy type 1 & 2 } else if (score > 15000) { //spawn x amount of enemy type 1 & 2 & 3 } else if (score > 25000) { //spawn x amount of enemy type 1 & 2 & 3 //create patterns with enemies } ...etc What would be a better method of spawning enemies as I have described?

A: X and Z, since the method definition includes X as the return type and since Z is a kind of X is would be OK to return either. Q: What could the parameter type of method2 be? A: Since method2 in the code accepts Y, X and Z (as the return from method1), the parameter type must be either V or W, as Y,X and Z inherit from both of these. Q: What could return type of method3 be? A: Return type of method3 must be V or W as this would be consistent with answer 2.

  Being a PHP programmer for the last couple of years, I'm just starting to get into advanced programming styles and using polymorphic patterns. I was watching a video on polymorphism the other day, and the guy giving the lecture said that if at all possible, you should get rid of if statements in your code, and that a switch is almost always a sign that polymorphism is needed. At this point I was quite inspired and immediately went off to try out these new concepts, so I decided to make a small caching module using a factory method. Of course the very first thing I have to do is create a switch to decide what file encoding to choose. • Extracting Frustum Planes (Hartmann & Gribbs method)

  I have been grappling with the Hartmann/Gribbs method of extracting the Frustum planes for some time now, with little success. There doesn't appear to be a "definitive" topic or tutorial which combines all the necessary information, so perhaps this can be it First of all, I am attempting to do this in C# (For Playstation Mobile), using OpenGL style Column-Major matrices in a Right-Handed coordinate system but obviously the math will work in any language. My projection matrix has a Near plane at 1.0, Far plane at 1000, FOV of 45.0 and Aspect of 1.7647. I want to get my planes in World-Space, so I build my frustum from the View-Projection Matrix (that's projectionMatrix * viewMatrix). The view Matrix is the inverse of the camera's World-Transform. The problem is; regardless of what I tweak, I can't seem to get a correct frustum. I think that I may be missing something obvious. Focusing on the Near and Far planes for the moment (since they have the most obvious normals when correct), when my camera is positioned looking down the negative z-axis, I get two planes facing in the same direction, rather than opposite directions. If i strafe my camera left and right (while still looking along the z axis) the x value of the normal vector changes. Obviously, something is fundamentally wrong here; I just can't figure out what - maybe someone here can?

• Creating an update method in a different class

  I have created a class called 3D model which will animate my 3D model by changing the model position according to the values based in a .txt file through a list... Since i'm using a foreach loop to read the point values when it reaches the end of the file.. XNA throws an out of bounds exception .. (which is obvious) but if i add the same code in my Game.cs update(gameTime) method.. then i dont have this problem..Any idea how to make my 3D model update work same as the update in game.cs .. • 15 Puzzle Shuffle Method Issues

  I am making a 15 puzzle game in C# that allows the user to enter a custom row and column value up to a maximum of a 10 x 10 puzzle. Because of this I am having problems with the shuffle method. I want to make it so the puzzle is always solvable. By first creating a winning puzzle then shuffling the empty space. The problem is it is too inefficient to call every click event each time. I need a way to invoke the click event of a button adjacent to the empty space but not diagonal. I also use an invisible static button for the empty spot. The PuzzlePiece class inherits from Button. I am not too sure how to do this. I would appreciate any help.   I have a web app that has a REST API interface: http://api.example.com/core that uses API Keys and domain specific keys (key has to be used on the specified domain). I then will have several client sites with ajax forms where we will require users to sign in before being able to submit the form. This form will add data to a table, and submit an email to several recipients along with checking credentials. This form will use an ajax submit to our REST API. All Communication to/from the API is over SSL Ideal Flow: Visitor Fills Form Out -> Enters User/pass -> Submits Form -> ajax request to REST API -> API Verifies credentials -> does CRUD -> sends emails -> returns 200/403 -> perform DOM manipulation based on return code in ajax call Are there any libraries in PHP that currently do something to this similarly? Would OAuth be a good use for this scenario? Languages used are: js/html/css/php/MySQL

• Failing Screen Resize Method

  So I want my game to draw to a specific "optimal" size and then be stretched to fit screens that are a different size. I'm using LibGDX and figured that I could just draw everything to a FrameBuffer and then resize that buffer to the appropriate size when drawing it to the actual display.   I have a level class in which I make a new turret. I give the turret the level class as parameter. So far so good. Then in the Update function of the Turret I call a function Shoot(), which has that level parameter it got at the moment I created it. • Use constructor or setter method?

  I am working on a UI code where I have an Action class, something like this - public class MyAction extends Action { public MyAction() { setText("My Action Text"); setToolTip("My Action Tool tip"); setImage("Some Image"); } } When this Action class was created it was pretty much assumed that the Action class wont be customizable (in a sense- its text, tooltip or image will be not be changed anywhere in the code). Of late, now we are in need of changing the action text at some location in code. So I suggested my co-worker to remove the hardcoded action text from the constructor and accept it as an argument, so that everybody is forced to pass the action text. Something like this code below - public class MyAction extends Action { public MyAction(String actionText) { setText(actionText); setTooltip("My Action tool tip); setImage("My Image"); } } He however thinks that since setText() method belongs to base class. It can be flexibly used to pass the action text wherever action instance is created. That way, there is no need to change the existing MyAction class. So his code would look something like this. MyAction action = new MyAction(); //this creates action instance with the hardcoded text action.setText("User required new action text"); //overwrite the exisitng text. I am not sure if that is a correct way to deal with problem. I think in above mentioned case user is anyway going to change the text, so why not force him while constructing the action. The only benefit I see with the original code is that user can create Action class without much thinking about setting text.

  i have a web site for download mobile files and there many users in my web site. sometimes i have the error below : HTTP Error 503 - Service is unavailable 1-so why this error happens and what is that mean? 2-as i know appache free up itself when it's oveloaded, but what about iis? how can i put some limitations in my server (i have remote access to my server) for prevent this error happening? a.is limitation of dowload's speed efficient for prevent that error's occur? how can i do that? is squid useful for this job or i can do that with another iis extension. b.is limitation of download's Bandwidth efficient for prevent that error's occur? how can i do that (with iis or another extension)? in right side of iis - configure area - i found some limits. what do those limits mean and can i use them for keep my server alive all the time? • IIS URL Rewrite HTTP to HTTPS with Port

  My website has two bindings: 1000 and 1443 (port 80/443 are in use by another website on the same IIS instance). Port 1000 is HTTP, port 1443 is HTTPS. What I want to do is redirect any incoming request using "htt p://server:1000" to "htt ps://server:1443". I'm playing around with IIS 7 rewrite module 2.0 but I'm banging my head against the wall. Any insight is appreciated! BTW the rewrite configuration below works great with a site that has an HTTP binding on port 80 and HTTPS binding on port 443, but it doesn't work with my ports. P.S. My URLs intentionally have spaces because the 'spam prevention mechanism' kicked in. For some reason google login doesn't work anymore so I had to create an OpenID account (No Script could be the culprit). • Plesk + Apache + PHP (FastCGI): Constant session permissions problems, conflicts between HTTP / HTTPS

  I've just moved a collection of sites over to a brand-new server, running Apache 2.2.3, PHP 5.3, and Plesk 10.1.1. I am having problems with file permissions on PHP sessions, which are being stored in /var/lib/php/session. I originally set the permissions like so for this folder: drwxrwx--- 2 apache psacln 8192 Mar 22 23:25 session This worked fine, for HTTP sessions. Files were being saved in that folder with these permissions: -rw------- 1 client1 psacln 0 Mar 22 23:24 sess_507... -rw------- 1 client2 psacln 0 Mar 22 23:25 sess_8o1... The problem, however, is that PHP scripts accessed via HTTPS do not seem to be run by the same client1 or client2 user. I deleted files in the session directory and accessed a login page via HTTPS to see how sessions were being saved when initiated via this protocol: -rw------- 1 apache apache 0 Mar 22 23:25 sess_507... So, for whatever reason, sessions initiated by clients browsing with HTTPS were being saved by apache:apache, while sessions from HTTP clients were saved with someclient:psacln. What I'd like to ask: How can I avoid this problem with session permissions? When sessions are created via unencrypted HTTP and a client visits an HTTPS portion of the site, permission errors are shown, since apache:apache tries to access the session save created by someclient:psacln. The converse is also true. Can I change the user which runs the Apache HTTPS server, via Plesk or the command line? If not, can I have PHP sessions save with rw-rw---- permissions, and then add apache to the psacln group? Any other suggestions on how to fix this issue?

  I use a Linksys WRT54GL router with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) std (SVN revision 13064) which I am trying to make forward all HTTP and HTTPS traffic to an external app called Fiddler (used as proxy) on port 8888.   Hi, In my visual studio project (C++), when i copy a method(meth1) of a particular scope say 'scope1' and paste it in the same code area, it is getting pasted in General Scope. i.e I want to add a method into a particular scope but when i try it is getting added in general scope. How can i solve this? For eg: There is an existing method: void add(int a, int b) { .... } This method is in File scope. i.e limited for that file. Now i want to add another method add2 in the same file scope. So I copied the existing add method and pasted it. void add2(int a, int b) { .... } But this method is getting added in the global scope and not in the file scope.

  I have a basic Squid server setup and I am trying to use Ruby's Net::HTTP::Proxy class to send a POST of form data to a specified HTTP endpoint. I assumed I could do the following: Net::HTTP::Proxy(my_host, my_port).start(url.host) do |h| req = Net::HTTP::Post.new(url.path) req.form_data = { "xml" => xml } h.request(req) end But, alas, proxy vs. non-proxied Net::HTTP classes don't seem to use the proxy IP Address. my remote service responds telling me that it received a request from the wrong IP address, ie: not the proxy. I am looking for a specific way to write the procedure, so that I can successfully send a form post via a proxy. Help? :)

• Call a macro every time any method is called - Objective C

  Hi, I wrote a debug macro that prints to the console the passed-in string whenever the global kDebug flag == YES. I need to print out the name of a method and it's classname whenever any method is called. That works fine when i painstakingly go through every method and write the name of the class and the method in a string. Is there any special handler that gets called when any method in Objective-C is called, and if so, is there a way i can somehow override it to call my debug macro?? The entire purpose of this is so that I don't have to go through every method in my code and hand-code the method signature in the debug macro call. Thanks
